A steamy new romantic comedy with the characters you fell in love with in Darker Water and Virtually Impossible.

My name is Carson Bennett.

The first time I slept with Laney Temple was two years ago.

At the time, I thought I deserved a medal for all the effort I put into making it happen. What I ended up getting is so much more valuable.

Now, with everyone and my brother getting hitched, I think I’m finally ready for the next big step. To make what Lane and I have better and stronger. Deeper. I'm just not sure if she’s ready.

Unfortunately, life isn’t all bacon and glitter just because we say three little words to each other.

When we’re horizontal, our communication couldn’t be better. And the other forty-nine percent of the day—when my pants are zipped, her bra is hooked, and nobody’s hands are anywhere fun—it’s still easy and full of laughs.

It’s just that last one percent we haven’t quite figured out yet.

Time’s ticking. If we don’t repair the cracks soon, water is going to rush in and break this whole damn thing apart.

~ ~ ~

Carson and Laney are back! Just in times for Valentine’s Day. Get a look at their after happily-ever-after and be there for Hayden and Andi’s island wedding.

*Deeper Water is not a true standalone contemporary romance novel like the others in this series. You will enjoy it much more if you read Darker Water first.

FYI: I'd originally planned on this story being a novella, but I guess Carson and Laney still had a lot to say. Because, while Deeper Water is shorter than Darker Water and Virtually Impossible, it's still a full-length novel. Oops. :-)

“Well,” Lane said, still waving to her parents, who’d just gotten caught by the crowd. “My father might still be under the impression I’m a virgin, and the man I’m with respects my decision.”

I swallowed my laugh. She wasn’t kidding. “Oh, I respect your decisions, babe. Completely. For instance, I respected your decision to ride me like a cowgirl the other night. And I had all kinds of respect for you when you dragged me into that restaurant bathroom a couple weeks ago because you needed to f*ck right then and there. And that thing you did with your tongue the other—”

So sweet!

Deeper Water is really like an extended epilogue of Darker Water. I did not read book 2, and I had no trouble since this was really Carson and Laney's book- although Hayden and Andi do have a part in this book.

Although this is a short novel (236 pages), I feel it could have been edited down a little bit- maybe even into novella size. I had a little trouble getting into it in the beginning since I felt like nothing was happening and it was a little repetitive.

However, I loved the parts of going back to Laney's hometown and meeting the parents. Carson won me over again at that point, where in the beginning I was wondering what it was I liked about him so much in the first book.

Overall, It was a sweet, little novel that I enjoyed.

DEEPER WATER (Once & Forever Book 3) is a romantic comedy with the lovable characters in DARKER WATER & VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. The 1st Book I ever read by Lauren Stewart was DARKER WATER. It is a standalone romance. I loved it! I ran all emotions while reading. Laughing one minute, to sad the next. It was funny, sexy & then drama plus angst. So when DEEPER WATER is a continuation of Carson Bennett and Laney Temple's story I was all in. To fully enjoy you must read DARKER WATER first.

Two years have passed since Carson and Laney have taken the leap and fallen in love. Life's turbulent water does not simply calm and go silent for even the truest of loves. And sometimes, two lovers are wrapped too tightly in each others warmth to see the crashing wave. But complaining about their next-to-perfect life seemed to be too much. But maybe that their present happiness would not make it any further than where they now stood. Or they just wanted each other. Forever. Nothing else matters. If they believed they had a future together, then did anything else matter. Overall, they had never been happier. But still something is missing, if they could only figure out what?

As a bonus the characters of Hayden Bennett (Carson's brother) and Andi Clark from the story VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE (Once and Forever Series Book 2) are in this book, too. They too have a Happily, Happy Ever After!

Carson and Laney spent first time with Laney's parents. What seems like disaster actually turns out well. Happily Ever After turns out as a 2nd Happily, Happy Ever After, but nothing comes easy. Lots of laughs along the way.

I’m a such a mess right now.

I adored the first book in the series. I loved it so much it became one of my go-to books whenever I need some happiness, but this story was bad. It was shitty-fanfiction bad -and I love fanfiction.

I just think this book is way too long. It should’ve been a novella.

I also didn’t like Carson at all and I have recently read the first book again so yeah, there was a serious downgrade with the character. He was way over the top and turning himself into a cartoon.

Normally, those two issues wouldn’t have ruined the book but given the fact that 50% of the book was from Carson’s POV and the story dragged way too long, yeah, they kinda ruined it for me.

I’m baffled, guys. I couldn’t even enjoy Lane! And I like her, but this book didn’t do her any favors either.

Overall, I wish this was a positive review but I’m disappointed.

5 beautiful Stars!!!

OMG!!! This book is SOOO CUTE!!!! I fell in love with Lauren Stewart when I read Darker Water and I have been waiting so long for this book. We were introduced to Carson and Laney in Darker Water when they first met and fell in love. Deeper Water is the continuation of their romance. Although you can enjoy Deeper Water as a standalone, I highly recommend Darker Water first – it’s fun, sexy and romantic. I did a quick reread and it was like I read it for the first time – totally worth it!

Deeper Water is sort of a “after happily-ever-after”. Carson and Laney both have commitments and relationship issues that they finally overcome at the end of the first book. Now Carson’s brother Hayden is getting married to the love of his life Andi in a destination wedding. They are nauseatingly in love and Carson realizes he is ready to take the next big step with Laney. He plans to propose to Laney but nothing happens according to plan. What was supposed to be a romantic proposal turns into a comedy of errors. Carson is distracted and Laney notices but she misunderstands the reasons. They have their first big fight and make-up. STEAMY HOT!!! Is Laney ready to commit to forever or has Hayden read her wrong this entire time?

I really love this book – the amazing sizzling chemistry and the awesome banters. Carson is still the cocky smart Alex as he was in the first book but he is also sweet and charming in his own way. Laney is feisty and she matches with him one for one. They constantly tease and mock each other. The highlight for me is the flirty banter – it was hilarious and I was positively giggling the whole way through. I also love the “meet the parents” part – Laney has been lying to her parents a little bit about her living arrangement in LA but her father wasn’t born yesterday so he might have threatened to take Carson on a one-way fishing tip LOL. The bonding and bromance going on between Carson and Laney’s father was quite endearing. The ending was just perfect – the frog, the prince, the proposal, the whole nine yards … utterly romantic and swoony.

Lauren Stewart is one of my favorite authors – Deeper Water is sexy, fun, entertaining. Flawlessly written. Perfect ending to a sweet modern fairy tale romance. I cannot wait for the next book - Immaterial Defense about Sara and her prince is coming next.

After staring at my screen for over 5 minutes, I still don't know how to explain how much I loved this book. If I could get away with writing ":) sigh." and know that people would understand what that meant, I would.

I absolutely loved the banter between Carson and Laney in book 1, easily making it a favourite read of mine I can pick up again and again. Then I got a serious but unexpected soft spot for Hayden in book 2.
But this book was just pure...sigh (the good content/happy kind). It felt like one giant epilogue told in only the way Carson could tell a story (with lots of wit and humour and heart underneath). It wasn't all fluffy and things didn't just magically turn out ok which only made me love it more. Add in the fact we got to see Hayden and Andi's happily ever after too and I was in reading heaven.

"Get dressed." She pulled away from me and tossed me a t-shirt. "I promised them we'd be there." "And I promised myself we'd use all these condoms before going home. I allocated a certain number for each day, and we can't fall behind." I shrugged. "One of us is going to have to break their promise, Lane. Guess what my priority is."

If you enjoy banter, love and humour, this one is a win.

I fell head-over-heels in love with Carson and Laney's story in the first book Darker Water. I watched them grow together... and apart... and then back together again. All with their witty and sexy banter, heartache and ultimately a beautiful and well-deserved Happy Ever After! I felt so good after reading it that I felt that that was enough... But I was wrong. I didn't know how much more I needed of Carson and Laney's relationship until reading this book.

You get the same hilarious sass and wit as the first book but taken to the next level. With Hayden and Andi getting married, Carson and Laney try to figure out their own future together through love and mishaps... But treated with lots of laughs, sex-iness and heart!

Thank you Lauren Stewart! I loved Deeper Water every bit as much as I loved Darker Water! It was an absolute joy to read!

Well, that was so much fun to read as every book of Lauren Stewart’s. I loved the internal battle that Laney and Carson had and I loved how funny their thinking was (that marriage proposal that Carson planned at the beginning would have worked beautifully with me) – and don’t get me started with the scene on meeting the parents especially Laney’s dad.
Their love is with no conditions, they fight for their relationship they are so in love, and they have a chemistry that is combined with a banter that matches no other.

I highly recommend this series as it will give you all the feels: romance, banter, love, chemistry and lovable characters

What a phenomenal way to continue Carson and Laney's story! I was laughing 2 sentences in and didn't stop the entire book. Carson has been one of my favorite bbf's for a while and this book just solidified him in #1.

I hope there will be more of him and Laney!

I've been waiting for this since I first read "Darker Water" - I just knew there had to be more Laney and Carson. "Deeper Water" did not disappoint.

Everyone around Carson and Laney seem to be moving forward and planning their future and ironically it is former commitment-phobe Carson who worries that they are being left behind. Laney is sure of her love for Carson, but she still has a few hang-ups about relationships. "Deeper Water" deals with our protagonists working out what they both want for their future together.

Carson was his usual wise-ass, charming self and it was an absolute hoot to read his interactions with Laney's parents - hilarious yet poignant. And, Laney had to learn to relax a little. It was lovely to see our favorite couple realize that as long as they loved one another there really is nothing to worry about.

As a bonus we get to see featured characters from the series. "Deeper Water" was a fun and sweet read and I cannot wait to read Sara's story!

Let me start by saying, that if you haven't read any of Laurens other books in this series, please do. Darker Water started it all back in 2014, where we were introduced to Carson, Laney, Hayden and the rest of this assorted mess of a family with issues! This starts Carson and Laneys story. In 2016 we go on to delve into Hayden, Carsons brothers life, in Virtually Impossible, Once and Forever book 2.
Now it's time to jump back into this story and see if Carson and Laney can over come the baggage and chaos of their pasts, to finally make their fairy tale come true. But happy endings have their prices too, and will they be strong enough to come out on the bright side....

First of all I love this series and this author. She can do no wrong. Laney and Carson are such real characters that I can relate to. Especially picking fights to fight. I loved the ending and can’t wait to see what happens next. I loved the families struggles because it does happen to everyone. Life isn’t easy and you do have to work on it. Love the life lessons put into this fun book series.

There are few times you really need a "what happened after the HEA?". You can usually make that story up in your own head and be satisfied that everything ended well. This is one of those stories and it didn't add anything you couldn't have created in your own mind. But since the end was really sweet and I really like Carson and Laney plus I like the writing style of the author, I'm giving it 4 stars!
Now I'm really looking forward to read about Sara next:)

First of all, I have to shout this: I LOVE CARSON AND LANEY! I believe I may have shouted something similar after finishing their first book, Darker Water, but it is just so true. I love this couple so much! They are perfect and so much fun to read. Their story is heartwarming, yet so very real. The struggles they encounter are those any of us may have experienced in our lives thus far, and in fact, I recall when I first met Carson he did remind me of several guys I’ve known through the years. And Laney is just awesome. She’s feisty, she’s fun, she’s real. Lauren Stewart has brought them back in the best way possible.

While their first book is indeed a standalone, complete with a lovely and perfect HEA, this new story takes us on a new journey as they grow and mature (well as much as Carson can, haha) as a couple. The struggles they face are significant, and they must learn how to handle conflict before they can really take the next step into their future. But once they get it, look out for another fabulous HEA, one that will bring with it tears and laughter. Once again the author has managed to keep their story entertaining, new, exciting, and romantic. Her strength lies in the way these characters are brought to life and perfectly developed; you feel like you know them so well, like you’re there alongside them for the ride. The best part, for me, is their banter and dialogue. This is always my favorite part of a good book, and Carson and Laney can keep me smiling and entertained for hours. It’s just perfect!

Everything about Deeper Water is perfect, and I was so happy to be able to spend more time with this awesome couple and their crazy family and friends. Thank you Lauren Stewart for continuing their lives for us. I am so eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Deeper Water by Lauren Stewart
I received this book from the authors for an honest review.
Oh Carsen!! Oh Laney!! The 2 of you are so perfect for each other but your letting other people’s expectations of you and life get in the way.
SO Carsen and Laney are happy. They are in love BUT the are in a limbo state. Yes, they love each other. Yes they live together BUT they have stalled. Everyone else is getting engaged and married so why aren’t they?
Carsen knows he wants to marry Lane which is a crazy thought for him because he knows she can do so much better then him. He wants to make the engagement the PERFECT engagement because women dream about that right?? The right proposal. The perfect ring. The perfect way to start their future. But now, because Laney doesn’t push Carsen he worries that Lane isn’t looking to him as her future.
Laney is happy with Carsen but she knows marriage isn’t a top priority for him. But she is feeling distance between the couple and she has no clue what it is. When Carsen comes right out and asks “Am I the ONE for you?” Laney and Carsen start to evaluate their relationship. They know they love each other but why have their stalled? What is the issue?
I enjoyed seeing our couple again. I enjoyed their inappropriate jokes and inappropriate behavior. I enjoyed reliving their relationship again because the love they have is so amazing but sometimes you have to STOP and see what is going on in rode to move forward.
Personal note: Jellyfish stings are no flipping joke and I totally felt Laney’s pain plus laughed my arse off in the scene at the beach!!!

3 HEA CROWNS

This one kind of hurts to write!! I wanted to love it. God, how I wanted to be absorbed back into the word of Laney and Carson, because their first story still gives me the tingles. Someone mentions the title and I lose my mind, but Deeper Water just fell flat for me all around.

Here is what I liked:

•Laney and Carson are still so much fun. Carson is still ridiculous, and I love how they interact. They’re eccentric but their oddities mesh, and I like that.
•I loved getting to see Hayden get his HEA with Andi.
•I enjoyed the ending. It was perfect. It captures everything this couple is.

Here is what I didn’t like:

•There isn’t a substantial enough conflict for a full length novel. I found parts of the story repetitive, and what was coming between them seemed insubstantial. One conversation could have fixed the whole thing.
•I found myself putting the book down. It didn’t hold me attention, and, although, I enjoyed the theme of the book, it could have been conveyed in shorter amount of time.

Part of my disappointment comes with the expectations I had for this story. I’ve been waiting for such a long time to get more Laney and Carson, and at the end of the day it just didn’t meet my expectations.

This is an ARC review.
ARC copy kindly supplied by the author in return for an honest review.

I love Laurens books, and it was great to get Carson and Laney's HEA.
It was a long time coming, and Carson did a LOT of overthinking about just what would be the perfect proposal. Poor guy was pulling his hair out over it, and even when he did have the brainwave of what would be his and Lanes perfect, he still stuffed it up!!
Poor Carson, nothing ever seems to go to plan for him, and his "speak before you think" way of living is constantly getting him into trouble..... but it's so funny! How Lane manages to keep herself from either laughing out loud or beating the hell out of him is beyond me!

So finally, it's meet the parents time at Hayden and Andi's wedding, and then the detour on the way home to meet Lanes parents!! Oh oh.! Well, there's a bombshell dropped on Carson about three seconds before he meets them!! Hilarious!

Another great story in this awesome and funny series, with more to come!!

“If you ever come to your senses and realize how much better you are than I am. If you ever decide you would be happier without me. Then I’d let you go. I’d be a miserable wreck, but I’d let you go if I knew it would make you happy.”

It was such a pleasure to not just read more about the Once and Forever characters and their deserved Happily Ever Afters, but also to have Lauren’s writing back – I’ve missed this woman’s humor. ... In Deeper Water, we finally get to read about Carson and Laney’s After Happily-Ever-After and before that, we get an extra treat experiencing Hayden (Carson’s brother) and Andi’s beautiful wedding. ... Deeper Water gives the reader an inside on Carson’s struggle to find the right moment, suppressing his fears and doubts while simultaneously trying impress and win-over Laney’s parents at the end. I was given an ARC for an honest review by the author.

I fell in love with Laney and Carson when the first installment to their story began in Darker Water. The banter, the chemistry, and overall love between these two characters left me with the warm and fuzzies, and giggling throughout. And then we were given Virtually Impossible to further explore the Bennett men following Carson’s brother Hayden and his story of finding Andi...seriously, sigh....

Now with Deeper Water, not only were the warm and fuzzies reunited again with more chemistry, banter, and love between Carson and Laney, we meet the whole family, and watch them grow together. This story not only made me giggle and fall in love again, but it’s completely relatable and who doesn’t love a happily ever after following some hardships?? I know I do!!

You must read book 1 before this one. I loved that one so much so I was excited to get more Carson and Laney. Book 1 was more of a HFN ending so don't look at this book as messing up the couples HEA. Think of this as an extended epilogue. I really loved how Laney and Carson worked through their issues of marriage. It was never something they talked about but with it popping up so much in their friends and family's lives, everyone is wondering will they on wont they. I love how Carson came to understanding about his relationship with Laney moving forward. His choice in the end was perfect and fitting for them as a couple. I also love how Laney came to grips with their relationship. I loved her surprise for Carson. I also liked how Carson helped Laney's parents and their relationship. Overall I really liked this one and would recommend it. 3.5 stars

I absolutely loved this book! So far, there's hasn't been anything that Lauren Stewart has written that I didn't like. Darker Water was the first think I read of hers and fell in love with the characters. I was super excited when I found out there would be a sequel and I'd get more of them. Carson and Lane have a great chemistry and I love their banter. I would definitely recommend this book (And the whole series!). :)

3.5 ⭐️ found this one to be a bit immature at times. Moments that reminded me of Carson and Laney from the first one but not enough of those interactions for me to love it. I did love the golden ball in the fountain! And the surprise Laney pulled on Carson was honestly for the best for both parties involved. It was perfect for them.

Here's the thing. If this was a novella and about a hundred less pages, I would have liked it more. The length itself wasn't the problem but there wasn't enough plot to support this as it was so it got a bit vexatious.

A great live story by Lauren Stewart. Two people who live together, love each other dearly, but a little afraid to take the next step of marriage. Carson Bennett who is filthy rich and Laney Temple an amazing artist.
