Moving on after a bad relationship is hard, but finding yourself mated to two wildly different vampires is even harder. Roarke, the chef, needs to be in control. Kellen, though? He's just happy to be here, happy to be with me. And with Kellen.
The Monster Mates is a series of sweet and spicy reads. Each installation is a stand alone novel or novella with low angst, an easy-to-follow plot that takes a back seat to the spice, and mountains of monster smut. Every book features a different kind of monster (or monsters) and you can always bank on an HEA.
No book in this series is intended for young audiences. All readers should be 18+.
No AI was used in the creation of this book, nor will it ever be a part of the Monster Mates series (or any book written by Samantha Wise).
This book has great characters, and such a unique take on vampire relationships and bonds. I loved that the story was told from each of their perspectives, including how they see each other. It’s a great why-choose vampire romance. There are several events that I wasn’t expecting, and that just made it better. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Cute AND Hot sooo cute! absolutely loved it. read it in one day, I just couldn't put it down. the characters, the relationships, the spice, and the author made me laugh out loud multiple times. highly recommend!
I came across the author on TikTok, and thought "man I love vampires and why choose books, I'll give it a shot". I fell in love with all three main characters. I intended to read this at the same time as another book, but this one absolutely stole all of my attention. Samantha, I love what you're doing here and look forward to more from you! I will definitely be going back and reading book one in the Monster Mates series. I'm so glad I came across your video!
Samantha Wise has officially become an auto-buy author for me. Serendipity was just as fantastic as Curiosity, if not more. The spicy chaos is still here, but this one had a surprising amount of emotional depth that I didn’t expect, and I loved it.
The triad dynamic between Fiona, Roarke, and Kellen felt balanced and natural. Roarke’s internal struggle, especially with his history tied to the Catholic Church, made him layered and complex. Kellen, on the other hand, brought the sunshine vampire energy. Playful, goofy, supportive, but don’t mess with his mates unless you want problems. The chemistry between the three of them was solid, with a mix of tenderness, trust, and some truly memorable MMF (and MM) scenes. Yeah, I said it. First time I’ve read an exclusive MM scene, and it was tasteful (pun completely intended) and hot as hell. One moment had me cackling: "I also didn't think I would be a bottom, but... live, laugh, take it in the ass, I guess." Absolute gold.
Fiona was a standout. She wasn’t written as a one-size-fits-all FMC. She felt real. A plus-size woman with her own dreams, ambition, and agency. She’s not here to be saved. She’s here to build something for herself and love on her terms. That’s refreshing in any romance, let alone a monster one.
And of course, the dialogue is on point. This line lives rent-free in my brain: "Silence is not an option when your body experiences a Chernobyl-level meltdown of pleasure." Honestly, the writing mixes heart and humor in the best ways. Also, one more for the books: "Milk him, Fianna." No notes. Five stars for that line alone.
If I had one wish, it’s that the book was just a bit longer, especially when it came to the Fae realm hints. It had potential, and I’d love to see more of that world expanded in future stories.
As a standalone, it delivers everything it promises: spice, heart, vampires, healing from toxic relationships, and a whole lot of monster-loving goodness. If you're into MMF, monster romance, or just want a smutty story with real emotion and a happy ending, this one’s for you.
Final Score: 4.5 out of 5 Unapologetically spicy, surprisingly tender, and the kind of monster romance that hits all the right notes.
I really love Samantha Wise's writing. I found her on tiktok and I am so glad. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I wanted more story. I enjoyed every moment of this book. Sometimes, I had to take a moment between the spicy scenes 🥵 but they were enjoyable! I can't wait to read more by this author.
Samantha Wise done did it again. Just like Curiosity, Serendipity is a delightful mix of romance, spice, humor, and unique lore.
All the characters were relatable, especially Fiona’s experience with her dumbass ex-boyfriend. Anyone familiar with religious trauma will appreciate Roarke’s battle with his Catholic guilt, and everyone with a functioning libido will be excited by his breakthroughs. And if you don’t find Kellan absolutely charming, I don’t know how to help you.
I’ve read plenty of vampire stories, but Serendipity has managed to give me something new with the lore. The unique spin on the fated mates aspect was refreshing—there are some pretty terrible consequences for a vampire if they never bond with their keystone, which added a sense of gravity to the situation that was more compelling than the usual simple obsession and instalove. Also, they have four fangs instead of two and that just does it for me.
As for the spice, buckle up if you’re a fan of blood play, cuz damn—made me want to be on my period, which I have never wanted ever in my entire life.
Then there was the humor. I’ll just leave you with this banger: “Live, laugh, take it in the ass.”
In all, if you’re looking for a low-angst, spicy, why-choose, vampire romance with some legit substance to it that lends relatable emotional weight to an otherwise fluffy, fun time, Serendipity is it.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book after I found it in a kindle social media group, but I’m SO glad I read it. It was a bit quick paced and I felt it could have gone deeper, but what was there, was great. The depths of the connection between the two vampires and their human mate was excellent. The spice… was excellent! I loved this! I wish it was longer and expanded into the life after the ending, but it ended with a good note. I’m supremely jealous of Fiona. :)
I absolutely loved this book. It was fast paced and spicy with unique twists on vampires that were so welcome. I was laughing and also 🫠🫠 through the book! Definitely in need of a trophy!
This was an entertaining read, and much spicier than I expected. I enjoyed the male POVs better because there was just more tension and feeling there, and the FMC was just… horny in a silly way? Either way, this was a fun, very spicy, feel-good (despite the dash of dark) story.
Just so much smutty vampire fun! That's all you really need to know. Fated mates, mental bonds, becoming a legit throuple with MF, MMF and MM. And smut. Lots and lots of well-done delicious smut. This book has it all!
