Rosewood Beach #9

A Breeze Over Rosewood Beach

Rate this book
A sweet small-town saga about mending hearts, finding purpose, and choosing hope.

Sally Lipton has run the Ocean Breeze Café for years, and her bubbly personality and warm smile have made her a favorite in Rosewood Beach. Her café is always full—but there’s an emptiness in her life that Sally can’t quite pinpoint. A decade ago, she walked away from love after a serious relationship ended, choosing instead to pour herself into work and surround herself with friends and loyal customers. Now in her early fifties, she’s starting to wonder if that was the right choice.

Oscar Jennings never planned on small-town life, but after losing his nest egg in a few poorly timed stock market trades, downsizing becomes his only option. As the newest resident of Rosewood Beach, he quickly becomes a regular at the Ocean Breeze Café—and one of Sally’s most challenging customers, offering unsolicited opinions on everything from the menu to the décor.

But it turns out the only thing stronger than Oscar’s grumpiness is Sally’s relentless optimism, and despite their differences, Sally begins to win him over with her lively banter and sunny smile.

When Sally needs help with some business decisions at the café, Oscar finds himself stepping in, rediscovering his confidence and realizing that his skills still have value. And for her part, Sally discovers that maybe a second chance at love is possible after all—and maybe her perfect match is the person who seemed like her complete opposite at first.

Meanwhile, Julia and Cooper return from their honeymoon to a big surprise! And Jacob and Hazel are busy working on renovating the new home they’ve bought—but even as they make progress on the house, they both realize that something is missing.

Take a trip to Rosewood Beach, where the water is warm, the sand is soft, and the Owens family is waiting to welcome you into their lives! This sweet and uplifting women’s fiction series is the perfect bookish escape.

This book focuses on love at any age and the wonders of life in a small town. Optimistic Sally Lipton meets grumpy and pessimistic Oscar Jennings, a transplant from New York City who tries to deal with poor financial choices in his life. He needs to start over. The romance and connection between Hazel and Jacob is stronger than ever. Without revealing more, there are other sweet surprises in the book. I love feeling part of this small town and love meeting new characters that interact with the Owens family.

Happy and uplifting

Another good book in this continuing series. Each book brings new characters but keeps you updated on the lives of the main characters. This book brings two older people together that thought life has passed them by. WhAt they wanted most they found in each other.
