Wynter is born in an ashram of a light cult. She grows up there until she is 14 (nearing 15). By this time her mother has left the ashram, her sister Joy is staying there too. For some unknown reason Joy leaves the ashram with Wynter. They don’t have enough money so they only make it to LA and then Joy sends her sister to Seattle where Joys brothers and father live. Wynter is a half sister. She arrives at her brother Calebs house and the brother accept her without a doubt and also look for Joy who is supposed to follow.
The book is about a family that is reunited for a little while but torn apart by the system, which delivers Wynter to a foster mom, even though she has a family. With the help of her brothers and even her stange foster person Rosa she leans to live in normal society. The series is about learning and growing but not only for Wynter but also her brothers.
It was nice to see how this family is coming together because some unknown girl comes to their house and how much they enjoy to help her. She in turn changes them all.
I will not write a review on every single book, and I have read three by now. But the next two are just as good as this one and the fourth one is on my kindle already and waiting to be read, which will be pretty soon. I am looking forward to the fifth part, which is already available on wattpad and hopefully be published soon. Next review about this series will be when the last book is released. Update: 23.11.2019 I started to review the individual books. So there are reviews for book 1, 4, 5 & 6. And I reread Little Sister Song, because I am waiting for book 7 and 8, 7 Duet is already on Wattpad and it is really good and the eights book will be calles Minor Key and Sara did not start uploading chapters the last time I checked.
Found this book on Wattpad and was instantly hooked. The story is about Wynter who carries a lot of baggage. I love how the author delves into her excentric mind, letting us see little bits of her past. The book is told in third person POV which gives us the oppurtunity to read about the other main characters' thoughts and actions. If you love sibling dynamics, music and dysfunctional families then look no further. It's about love and hate, lies and secrets, friends and enemies. Trust me you won't regret reading this book, you will instantly fall in love with Wynter and her brothers. The way it's written, it sucks you right in and before you know it you'll be so invested, you won't be able to put it down!
A gripping story about a young girI, trying to find her footing, in a world she's never known. With the help of a family she just met. This book tugs at all of your heartstrings. You'll laugh and cry, and maybe occasionally want to hit someone. Lol. I can't wait to read more of Wynter's story. I recommend for adults due to some mature content. I just wish I could give it even more stars.

This book was absolutely amazing! The entire time I read it I was entranced, and as soon as I finished it I was desperate for the sequel (I read it first on Wattpad.) The author does a phenomenal job of establishing characters and plot progression, and I honestly am in in love with this series. 10/10 I would recommend.
This book is inarguably one of the best I've ever read. The author has great talent; she spins an intriguing tale involving a whole lot of sibling love, cute jamming sessions, a 19-year-old genius, a rock star, someone who works in the Coast Guard, and a light-obsessed cult that physically and mentally abuses the main character for the entire 14 years of her life.
Sounds awesome, doesn't it? Believe me, it is.
The story starts off with our main character, 14-year-old Wynter, and her 21-year-old half-sister, Joy, escaping from the ashram — and for the unknowledgeable, this basically means a religious retreat. Though Wynter has lived a her life with the Light — that's the name of the cult/religion — she has never fit in the society, and she has trouble following their rules; she has what the Light calls a "dark heart." Joy finally decides that it's best if the 2 of them leave, and so leave they do.
While they successfully manage to reach the bus station, a problem arises, as problems tend to do when everything is going smoothly; Joy doesn't have enough money for 2 tickets to Seattle.
Of course, being the caring big sister she is, she sends Wynter off on her own, with promises to follow her as soon as she gets the money, an address, and specific instructions to find a certain Caleb Fairn, who is none other than the aforementioned Coast Guard guy — and Joy's older brother.
Wynter's life takes an interesting turn when she arrives at Caleb's doorstep and learns that Joy is not her only sibling. As it turns out, she has 3 older brothers — half-brothers, technically. There's Caleb, the oldest; Indio, the rockstar; and Jesse, the genius. Not only do the siblings establish an immediate bond — it's almost as if they've known each other all their lives — they all share an intense love for music. And for a while, all is well.
But life ain't fairy tale!
Caleb, of course, wants custody of Wynter. The Social Services are as problematic as ever and are reluctant to hand over Wynter to a bunch of guys. At the same time, Wynter struggles to learn to "not be weird," and to deal with living with a cold psychologist of a foster mother, who is set on "fixing" her.
With chaotic weekend visits, garden gnomes in the missionary position, fake friends and a kidnapping attempt, what could possibly go wrong?
5/5

4.5 stars! (I would give 5 stars, but I always belive on waiting for at least the second or third book)
I actually found this book through wattpad. Yes, wattpad. It's been a long time since I last read something in wattpad, especially something as good as Little Sister Song.
The book is about Wynter Wild, who grew up in a cult and we all know how this really goes. The thing is, Wynter didn't really know anything about the outside until the day her older sister took her with her, leaving the cult. And now Wynter has to learn how to be someone she didn't have the chance to be in the ashram and face the perhaps not so ugly reality.
The book narrates her story and the story of the Fairn Brothers, with glimpses of a past that most of them would like to forget, heartache and strong family dynamics while creating incredible bonds over music.
I love this family, even though the author likes to make them and us, suffer, I have tis au that it is probably one of my favorite books. And it's not even fantasy! can you imagine?
All in all, if you love a book about dysfunctional families, music, strong bonds and lots of drama, this is the perfect book for you, because Wynter Wild and her family will make sure you feel every little bit of the words you read.
This book is the perfect mixture of a modern family drama combined with the occasional sitting-on-the-edge-of-my-chair tension of a psychological thriller. Just when you think it can't get any worse, the story takes a completely unexpected turn. There is something for everybody who loves a bit of drama: confusing emotions, painful secrets, stimulating music, questionable decisions, financial struggles and a lot of growing-up at the horizon (even for the technically already grown-up characters). All of this accompanied by a great amount of humour as well as a healthy dose of cynicism. The author has lovingly created a family of powerfully enticing protagonists with difficult pasts and challenging futures ahead that are bound to pull at the reader's heartstrings. For me, this one clearly belongs in the category of "unputdownable" books.
AMAZING. That's all I can say! I am really enjoying this book series at the moment, I read up to 50 chapters in one sitting. Sara is extremely talented. It's hard to find a book with such careful outlining and well-developed plot and unique characters. I am in love with how everything falls into place and how fluent and entertaining the dialogues. I have indeed fallen in love with the writing style! I recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a good read which will keep you at the edge of your seat.
Masterful story telling. Excellent foundational novel that sets up the main thrust of the story, as well as sets the scenes for a number of sub plots. Complex plot, yet easy to read. There are myriad of characterizations; each unique, clearly laid out and believable. I am hooked on this series and am now moving on to book number 2.
Excellent work. Highly recommended reading.

Sheesh, talk about emotional damage. This family had been put through a cheese grater. Abandonment issues, abuse, neglect, and goodness knows what's left to come out. What were they planning to do to Wynter? Were they going to kill her? Is that what Joy is scared will come out? What won't Wynter say? Those emotional/ physical traumas cover the guys to an extent also but they had each other. They had the love and support of each other. Broken but still there. Those siblings pull together for each other.
Can’t remember the last time I was this stimulated by a book. The author tell Wynter’s coming of age story using an intriguing writing style and keeps you hooked throughout the book. You find yourself becoming emotionally invested in the character before you know it. I found it very hard to rate this book because it’s so powerful and yet it makes me so sad.
Little Sister Song is a story that pulls at the readers heartstrings and leaves everyone wanting more.
Wynter is naive and clueless about the outside world, born and raised in The Light - a cult. Until she escapes one night and shows up on her brothers doorstep. Filled with rock music, family drama, and the ups and down of friendship, this is a story you don't want to miss reading.
Wynter has escaped from the Light a cult like commune that she was raised in her whole life. She discovers half brothers she never knew she had. She’s a fish out of water trying to learn how to survive on the outside. This was a book full of secrets, intrigue, much and angst. I can’t wait to see how the series progresses.
Stumbled upon this book on Wattpad and couldn’t have been any luckier. Sara creates such a dynamic family that feels real. If you’re looking for a story that is all about struggles, family, unconditional love, and discovery. Look no further and enjoy this book.
My heart feels for Wynter. Her story is sad, but so good. I like Caleb, Jesse and Indio too. I can’t wait to read more. It has music, family, and drama which makes for an interesting story.
*I received a free copy from Prolific Works in exchange for a honest review.*
Such a good story but I didn't realise ALL the books were so closely connected. I kinda assumed different characters in the same town or something. I get bored with long series. Shoulda read the blurb, I guess. Let's see how it goes. On to book 2.
The first thing I have to say about Little Sister Song is how realistic yet at the same time how magical it is... The bonds between the different characters and their personalities are portrayed so very well. I was so emotionally invested in the story that I almost finished the entire book in one sitting(I missed a meal and a lot of study..) Great language. Great style. Great plotline. Great story... There were times when I cracked up in public and made people think I was crazy and sometimes it made me cry so much that my eyes ended up all puffy. This book has taken me on such a journey. Sara Creasy is honestly one of my favourite authors and I really think that her works should be appreciated more. She really has a talent in making her characters feel like our friends and family. Anyway, love this book, love the series...
This is one of the best book series that I've read in recent times. I found this book series on wattpad and have been in love with it since. From the first book to the last book, the story never disappoints. The story is about a girl from a cult who discovers the outside world along with her brothers who all become succesful musicians eventually. I absolutely loved reading this book series. This series takes us on a journey of love, hate and adventure. I could read this series a hundred times and I wouldn't ever be bored of it.

Not a bad YA, but the mc was quite naive and a little annoying. But I think, with her age and background, that naivety was the whole point. This is a sweet family drama kind of book.
I've got a habit of clicking every Facebook advert for self published authors on Kindle Unlimited and reading the sample. TBH most don't hold my interest past the second page. But it's had the knock on effect on the algorithm that 95% of my FB adverts are for books! Little Sister Song, grabbed me from get-go. Two sisters escaping a cult in the middle of the night in a stolen truck. They're hoping their long lost brothers will take them in. But it seems that older sister Joy, is rescuing her 14 year old half sister Wynter, who was born there, because the cult is physically abusing her, combatting her 'dark nature'. Wynter is embraced by her three brothers, 18, 22, and 25, but social services have other ideas. And how does a teen who has never left the ashram cope in the outside world? Or with middle school? The internet? It's a gripping story with amazingly well formed characters. However, it does suffer from a saggy middle that I find quite common in self published books that have not been professionally edited; overly detailed, prolonged chapters of the reunited siblings going through childhood photos; repetious accounts of the troubled brother's woes; repetitive analysis of the mother who ultimately abandoned all of them; and the same of the alcoholic father and his demons. 50 pages could have been chopped to make the middle tighter. I just flipped through them. But on the whole it was a good read, and if not for the saggy bits, I'd have given it 5 stars.
