Eleanor The night he became alpha, I ran. Unable, or unwilling to stand there and watch him choose someone else. I couldn’t stay and break all over again. So I built a new life. A lie wrapped in safety and secrets, far from the pack that never wanted me. But I’m still hunted. Still a pawn in a game I never agreed to play.
Gideon She ran from me the night I would have given her everything. Now she’s out there, tangled in lies and danger, thinking she was never enough. She was always enough. Always mine. No matter who stands in my way, no matter what it costs— I will find her. I will bring her home. And God help the ones who try to keep her from me.
I honestly almost DNF’d this, but Winifred kept me going. And also because I wanted to know who was the mysterious entity behind hunting down Eleanor.
It’s a tale that’s been told many times, but this just fell very flat. The characters were very one dimensional, with the exception of Winifred (maybe), and the conversations were really lame, to be blunt. The writing was mediocre and I skimmed most of it because it just didn’t hold my interest, so good thing this was a short one.
I wouldn’t read this again, but if you’re into a wolf shifter romance(?), maybe you’d like this.
Thank you to Sicara J. Weaver for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. Rating: 1 star (DNF). Genre(s): fantasy romance.
Overall impression: I'm a sucker for a shifter romance and was so excited when I read the blurb. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the writing style and it took all of the enjoyment out of the story for me. The sentences were really short, overly-simplistic and didn't flow together well - leaving me feeling like something was missing the entire time. We were 'told' a lot but never 'shown' anything through descriptive words, so it felt like the world-building was lacking too. The inner monologue was very cliche and offensive at times, which didn't make relating to the FMC any easier. All in all, I wasn't very motivated to continue the story and decided to put it down.
This was a fun easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Gideon and Eleanor were great characters, he was obsessed and the “you’re mine” moments were perfect.
There was a little sprinkling of spice, nothing too detailed but perfect for the moment.
I wish we’d gotten to see some of their past, just to know how betrayed Eleanor really felt, and maybe their childhood or the moment Gideon found Eleanor. It did feel like she forgave Gideon fairly quickly but given the length of the book that was understandable.
The side characters were good too, I want Theo to find his happy ending and I’m hoping we get Winifred’s book next.
🌍 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕓𝕦𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘, 𝕨𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘: Very short and fast-paced. Too short really because if most of the story was explored deeper then this would have been one h3ll of a book!
It's a simple easy read with short sentences. I wish there were more layers to it all because it reads well but feels like something is missing, perhaps more of their past? But I presume that is being held back for the next book.
The love story is sweet and predictable but satisfying. I like that there are various subplots, that things are going on now, and from the past, that are becoming revealed or are being unravelled. I like that the side characters have their own story going on and that they are strong players in the book.
🧝♂️ ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕤: I love how authentic the witch was! She had a mainly herbal practice, making potions and offering crystals to those perusing her shop. I truly love how traditional the witches' shop was along with her practices, it made a change from the typical Disney magic x hocus pocus style powers and personality.
The characters all had strong personalities which worked really well. I enjoyed the bit of the love triangle going on, and the snippets of regular life and pack life. The FMC was a very strong woman, rather Sassy and full of banter! My favourite kind of character! And the males were strong protective types, just what we want from a good shifter!
😥 𝕎𝕙𝕪 𝕟𝕠 𝕗𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕣𝕤? I know it was a short story but it needed more because it was good. It just needed more, there was a gap in the book, a feeling of something else needed.
⏳ 𝕎𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕚 𝕣𝕖-𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕠𝕣 𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕕? Yes, I would recommend but I wouldn't re-read it.
🪧𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: Strong characters, authentic and powerful witch, spicy love triangle and then there is shifter packs' politics and rogue life so what's not to love. Really quick read and very enjoyable.
⭐️⭐️ I managed to finish it but it was rubbish. I won't keep a physical copy and won't recommend it, but it's a shame as the plot could have made a good book in another author's hands
⭐️⭐️.5 It was OK. I wish I didn't start this one as it didn't do it for me as I struggled to read it. It had an interesting premise that fell flat but I had to see what happened in the end.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don't regret reading it, and I will read the next one, but this one did have a few flaws. [These could be repetitive writing, gaps or plot holes, better character growth or world building, areas needing more detail] Generally, the book lacked depth and became confusing. The plot resonated with me even though it annoyed me on the whole.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to the right people, but I wanted more! Sadly, it's easily forgettable with a few issues I just couldn't overlook/get past.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good book! I loved it, but... I needed more! I really did enjoy it, but it had a few parts that needed more detail or added history/background or lore. But that's because the story or characters were memorable, and the plot was strong with brilliant twists. I would re-read if I needed to catch up for the next book and would recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Great book! I truly wish the story had been thought about more, or the author had been given more time as this book is so close to brilliance! I will likely read again and will definitely be recommending it to all!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WOW! Absolutely amazing book! Well written with great characters and a plot so memorable that it will stay with me. I will definitely read this again, I will be recommending it and sharing it with the whole world! Also- I NEED A PHYSICAL COPY!
🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥 This is my God level tier. The book must be perfectly memorable. Even after reading 50+ more books, I will remember character names and emotions along with the plot. If there is a special edition, then I need to own it! If there is a conversation on books- I'm talking about this!
SPICE SCALE: 🌶️– segsual language and a little on-page action
🌶️🌶️– a lot of segsual language and some on-page open door action, may be occurring a couple of times
🌶️🌶️🌶️– a lot of explicit action and dirty talk, occurring frequently with 2/3 lurvers

I enjoyed this book, especially the side characters. The overall plot was intriguing and kept my interest. Decent spice. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what happens next!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a quick read (4-5 hours I would say)
Summary: Eleanor has left her pack. Well, the pack she grew up with after being abandoned. She always felt like an outsider and decided to go live on her own. She mets Theo and hit it off. However, the alpha of her pack is not ready to accept her departure so easily and will stop at nothing to bring her back.
Opinion:
I love the story but it felt like something was missing. I can’t quite pinpoint it. The story was fast paced. It’s quite predictable. I don’t really like when everyone seems obsessed with the FMC which is the case here. I thought the relationship with the MMC was too easily fixed.
I’m a sucker for a good shifter romance, and this one was a cute, fast little story. I really liked Gideon's obsession with Eleanor, I could totally see the draw. That said, I did feel a little lost at times, like a few chapters were missing or skipped over. Everything moved really fast, like blink-and-it’s-happening fast. The whole story felt like it took place over a long weekend.
Still, a fun, quick read if you’re in the mood for something short and steamy.
The female lead is a pathetic doormat that gives in to the male lead too quickly after decades of being ignored, neglected, bullied, and made an outcast. I don't care that he stayed with her when they were getting attacked because it could have been his pride, or the fact that she's something that is useful to him that caused his protective entitlement, not that he actually cares about her. I never felt the connection, I didn't like him, and I really didn't like her. He didn't do anything to redeem himself and she was giving in and panting after it talking as if she'd punished him when all she had done is use a modicum of circumspection in dealing with him which unfortunately didn't last long. The arc of the story frequently didn't make sense because her wolf was bound she wasn't able to tell that Winifred was a witch or Theo was a wolf supposedly yet she could detect wolves in the alleyway and the one before it attacked her so sometimes she could but the closest ones she couldn't and that didn't make sense); had huge gaps (the way the backstory for Eleanor's relationship with the various characters -- Anthony, Roxy, Curtis --is dropped in at the last minute as if and afterthought); and the whole thing with Theo was a total disappointment since it was him I was rooting for. Just, no.
This is the first book in the Bound by Moonlight series. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Thank you to the author for my eArc.
Tropes and themes include: ✨Protective alpha male ✨Fated mates ✨”You’re mine” ✨Second chance romance ✨Hidden identity ✨Touch her and die ✨She’s on the run
Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames Nickname: Love
The Lovely: I enjoyed the characters the most and the relationships they formed. Winifred quickly became a fav, as did the FMC Eleanor. I’m excited to see how Winifred’s story develops.
The Mundane: The short nature of this story left me wanting to see more. It felt like we jumped from scene to scene too quickly and didn’t get to see how the MCs re-established their relationship.
Recommendation: At 177 pages this could be considered a longer novella or shorter novel. The wolf shifter vibes were point. If you’d like a quick read with interesting characters and a second chance romance, I think you’d like this story.
These two were very hot and cold but in the best way possible.
I loved how you are transported into a world where Eleanor (Jane) has left the pack, and Gideon will do anything to get her back. This book works backward in a way that you find out throughout the story the different nuances of their relationship.
There is a touch her and die element in how Gideon approaches everything with Eleanor, that is interesting in that he isn't a very emotional person but he shows that he cares in the way he reacts to situations with her and also what we does for her. Eleanor is determined to find her own way without Gideon, and it's an adventure to see her different relationships develop throughout the book. There is everything you ever need in this; mystery, love, friendship, ups, and freedom.
I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this amazing novel and am leaving a review of my own thoughts and feelings.
Runaway Moon is a relatively fast paced read, which follows two werewolves from the same pack. One is the alpha, and the other is the runaway. One is so determined to live her life free, and the other is very determined to bring her back.
This was my first ever read by this author and I overall enjoyed it. The chemistry between characters is good, the humor is there, the side characters are great, etc. I do, however, feel as if many of the main characters fall a little flat/one note. There could be more depth into them; why they do what they do, more rounded personalities, etc.
Would I recommend the book to someone? Yes. I do believe if you are more of a vibe reader and don’t look too deeply into things, you will be fine and enjoy it too.
If there was one quote to make you want to read this, it would be “I’ll still find you, love. Even if I have to tear the world apart to do it.”
Whew okay I devoured this book in one sitting in less than 4 hours yes it was a short read but man everything that happened was so well paced you wouldn’t even know it was such a short book! Nothing felt rushed and I loved that! We have a girl running from her past and a guy who would stop at nothing to get her back and man was it chefs kiss! I fell in love with them so fast! I also fell in love with our witchy friend Winnifred and man does my heart ache for her in the end. Makes me wonder, will we be getting a sequel of her book? Because we need it!! I need more honestly of this whole world and these characters because it drew me in and I couldn’t stop until I was finished. Also who doesn’t love to see some wolf fights because it was fantastic. Spice was point on as well! All in all you didn’t amazing with this book and I’m so glad I got to read it! Everyone go read this book it comes out august 15th and this is one wolf story you want to jump into it! 🥰
😮💨 I needed a few mins after that ending…..oooh boy! What a story! Like all the shit that came to light for poor Elenor and don’t even get me started on Winifred. If I do I wont stop crying 😭😭😭! I will say this book surprised me and I was not expecting a lot of what happened.
First let me talk about Theo…..poor sad puppy Theo….I do like him and his little golden retriever personality and he is super sweet. That’s where I’m going to leave it cause I really have to talk about Gideon (he’s definitely more my type, sorry I got a thing for growly alpha males 😉). Was he maybe a little dumb….yep, most of them are but I love when they realize they dumb and how they make up for it 😏! (And I was never opposed to a little light stalking 🤣).
I am seriously hooked to this story and I desperately need to know what happens in the next book! Really want to see what happens to our girl Elenor and I am worried for Winifred. I wanna go give her a big hug! 😩
This one got me so invested from the start that I kept losing track of time as I read. Fabulous book. Gabriel is not always a good man with good intentions. But he loves Eleanor with everything in him. She makes him stronger, even as she is his greatest weakness. It was gripping to read about. Eleanor has some major trust issues she has to work through, especially when it comes to Gabriel. But once she knows the full truth she is able to see what he was willing to risk and do for her which helped her to feel more secure in his love. They had some great chemistry and I enjoyed their steamy scenes. Now it does end with a HEA for them but there are still some unanswered questions and situations that I hope we get answers to in further books. Loved it.
I did receive an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Holy F this was good!! Not a single boring minute! Just WAU! Absolutely amazing!! This isn’t a long story but oh boy do this had tension and thriller!! And betrayal and sadnes! Spice too, i mean this had pretty much everything you need from a book. There is werewolfs AND witches!! HOW COOL IS THAT!! One thing tho, this ends with a cliffhanger, so that kinda messed my head. I am not good with those, so i need to read the next one. Eleanor, oh girl did i scream to you few times. But Gideon, oh my my, gimme some of that! He has that whole ”you are mine” thing going on and i do love that Over all this is a quick and easy read, and so so good! I truly think that you should read this too and then you can talk with me about this, thank you! And thank you Sicara for this oppurtinity to read this, you are amazing and i can’t wait what comes next!
Angsty wolves will always get my attention - but will it hold it?? In this case, yes.
Eleanor runs from her pack the night the new Alpha takes power, and he is determined to get her back. Initially, that’s all we know about the pair. We learn more across the book as we see from both POVs. She hides in a small town, getting a job in a crystal shop and finding someone she thinks she could love. Until the Alpha - Gideon - shows up.
This book moves very quickly, and I wish the book had been longer to dive into some sections more deeply. There’s some open door scenes, and it does deal with kidnapping and feelings of abandonment.
I got this book finished pretty rapidly, and I’m interested to know where the series will go in future books. If you need a bit of PNR to sink your teeth into, this is a good afternoon snack size.
A quite short and fast paced story with werewolves and witches. Our main character, Eleanor, has left her pack and the man she always had a crush on. As she tries to get her new life together, other wolves comes after her, and the man she thought she left was never far away. The love story is sweet and predictable. I like that there are more mysteries than “just” the main plot, that there are things in the past that are now to become unravelled. I’m not convinced by the insta-love between two side characters. There is flirting and obvious attraction but the actions in the end feels more like the reaction of a besotted teenager than an adult. Having that said, I’m still reading the next book because I really want to know what happens next.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, & it didn’t let me down. I loved the characters, the sprinkling of spice & the emotions as Gideon & Eleanor’s love story unfolded. I’d love to see a prequel to give more background on how Gideon & Eleanor came to be & what they experienced - although not having this does not take away from the plot at all. I loved Gideon’s possessive “you’re mine, love” attitude, & he was not about to let his “love” fend for herself - even if he had to do that mostly from the shadows.
Hoping in forgive books we get to hear more about Theo & his family, & if Winifred succeeds in her plan.
* I was given an ARC copy in place of an honest review*
Runaway Moon is a broody short read that keeps you on the edge of your seat through the entirety. Just when you think you have it figured… you realize you don’t! Elenor makes the decision to flee her pack without any word to some of the most important people in her life. She’s desperate to feel like she’s a part of something, rather than an outsider. Gideon is the man she would have done anything for but his indifference makes her realize she needs to leave.
These two are just too stubborn for their own good. I can’t wait for the second book! The premise has me so excited!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review It's a fast pace reading and I couldn't put it down after around Chapter 5 because I was nosy. I finished the book in like 4 hours. I like how the author combines werewolves and witches in the book. The ending has me wanting to read the next book. Just too curious to know.
However, the first few chapters felt like a lot of telling with minimal dialogue. Time went by too fast from beginning to the end. When Gideon's pack arrived there were names thrown out of nowhere and I felt like I was missing some pages or a book before this one. Once I got over that I enjoyed the rest of the book.
I really got into this series and I’m sad that I have to wait to read the second one! It’s been awhile since I’ve found a really interesting werewolf series but here we are! It’s sweet, messy (in the best way) and real. (In a none real way) I know confusing but I promise if you read it you will understand. I can’t wait to read the second book! If you enjoy slow burns that have you on the edge of your seat by the end of it, this is the book for you. Werewolves, witches & stalking all the best things ! 🐺🧙♀️♥️
Runaway Moon is an intense and emotional second-chance shifter romance filled with longing, loyalty, and suspense. Eleanor’s strength and vulnerability make her easy to root for, while Gideon’s fierce determination to bring her back adds a gripping edge to the story. The author does a great job balancing action, romance, and the deep emotional wounds between these two characters. The tension builds steadily, keeping you hooked as their bond reignites.
A passionate, heartfelt story about finding your way back to the person who never stopped being home.
This was a very fast paced read. I felt that Elenor and Gideon were great characters. I would have loved to have learned more of the backstory between these two. I feel like there was probably so much more we could have explored with them.
All in all this was a great story. I love how protective Gideon was over Elenor even if he tried not to show it. This story had anger, tension, betrayal, love and redemption.
While this was a short novella, it has the ability to be expanded into an amazing series. I enjoyed it and wanted more. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Quick, engaging read that pulls you in right from the start. Gideon and Elenor’s story is full of drama, missteps, and missed chances—which definitely keeps things interesting. There’s a lot of tension between them, and if you’re into Alpha "you’re mine" vibes, Gideon delivers.
I do wish there had been more backstory, though. You can tell they have a complicated history, and getting more of that would’ve made their connection feel even deeper. Still, if you’re in the mood for something fast-paced and emotional with a possessive lead and a good bit of angst, this one’s worth picking up
*3.5 stars rounded up* Runaway Moon is a fast-paced second-chance fantasy romance novella with werewolves, witches and magic. It was a short but perfectly paced immersive story filled with mystery, love, found family, betrayal and angst. The second chance romance is sweet and spicy and has a runaway heroine. While I didn’t quite connect with the instalove romance, I did love our possessive alpha MMC and his “you’re mine” energy as well as all the banter, humor, tension and drama. Thank you Sicara Weaver for a copy of this ARC!
This was my first werewolf book, and I really enjoyed it! Gideon and Eleanor seemed like characters you could easily pin down at first, but the more I read, the more layers they revealed—and I loved that. The side characters were just as lovable and added so much to the story.
There were plenty of unexpected twists and turns that kept me hooked. I do wish we got a little more background in a few areas, but overall, it was a fun and engaging read!
This book was a quick, fun read! The storyline kept me intrigued throughout, and I’m already excited for the second book to see what happens with Gideon, Eleanor, and especially Theo.
There were a few moments where the story felt like it was missing some pieces—I found myself going back to reread certain parts—but it wasn’t enough to take away from the overall enjoyment.
Please tell me there’s more to come with Theo—I need more of his story!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was a super quick read. Gideon is definitely an alpha wolf with touch her and die tendencies and is also possessive. He spends most of the book planning and watching but when action finally happens, he was a man on a mission. Eleanor really gave it a good shot at staying away from him until he was back in front of her. She was a decent FMC. Some of the secondary characters were interesting too. I am excited to read more in this world.
I enjoyed this book. It was a fairly quick read, with an interesting plot line. I liked Elenor and Gideon, but I did feel like something was missing, like maybe we needed a little bit more of their backstory to really set the tone. The side characters were great, especially Winifred, and I can’t wait to find out more about her. Overall I liked the book, and I will definitely be reading the next one to see what happens.
