About the author

I write the Ryan Lock series of thrillers, which feature ex-military bodyguard Ryan Lock and his partner, former Marine, Ty Johnson. The first two books in the series, Lockdown and Deadlock, hit the Official UK Top 50 Bestseller Chart, and the third, Gridlock, has just been released in hardback. They have have also been translated into Dutch, German, and Russian.

I'm a firm believer in hands-on research, also known as 'any excuse to get out of the house', so before I wrote Lockdown, I trained for a month with former members of the Royal Military Police's specialist close protection unit. That turned out to be great preparation for Deadlock, which I researched by spending time inside Pelican Bay Supermax in California (see the TV interview on my author page). I recently completed a desert survival course in Arizona and ventured into the tunnels under Las Vegas, all as preparation for a new standalone thriller I will begin work on once I have completed the fourth Ryan Lock book.

Before I became a full-time novelist, I taught college and wrote television drama. I'm an Oxbridge and Ivy League graduate – try not to hold that against me.

This is an excellent book, it is really gripping and I can highly recommend reading it. I could not put it down once I started to read it. It does not matter if you haven’t read the previous three books in the series as it stands alone well, but I can guarantee that you will want to read them.
Sean Black has created a great character in Byron Tibor, you will find him really a great character.
He is really honest and helps a group of veterans lead by William (Bill) Hill living in the woods, anyway I don’t want to give any of the plot away, so just download this book and read it, you won’t regret it. I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of the book, but this review is entirely my own.

Byron ends up in a disabled veteran camp that is on forgotten land that a company now wants to use for access to water for a data center. The company is owned by a family that basically owns the town. They are strong arming people to get them to sell. The veterans don't want to move. That family isn't going to like the side that Tibor chooses and they are going to like the results even less. Excellent book! It will most likely be my favorite one for April.

What a great read! We have Byron tripping across an event and, as expected, he comes to assist. As events unfold, he plots and plans and continues to assist. He has a strong sense of right and wrong and the courage and conviction to follow. I hope that we will continue to have more installments featuring this character.

Sean Black is a great auther. I have read all of his books and have loved them all. The Burn Pit keeps your attention from the very first page to the very last page. Byron Tibor is an extraordinary individual and very powerful. He leads a group of veterans on a very suspensful adventure. I highly recommend this book to all those who like suspense and mystery books.

Brilliantly written as I struggled to put it down. Love Byron's character as he's down to earth and knows right from wrong. Fingers crossed for another one sooner rather than later.

Another great story that will keep wondering what’s going on and what could possibly happen next. Byron has tried to keep a low profile these past years but things have changed lately. Full of action , secrets and definitely will keep you wanting more.

Lovely style of writing you can really get lost reading Burn Pit is a very compelling thriller with a very down to earth hero, which makes him very relateable.

A good book!

This was an ok book it could have been a lot better I was expecting more about the Veterans ! What I read about the author I was expecting a better book than this was!
