The first heavy raids on London by German bombers hit the capital in September 1940. This marked the beginning of the Blitz which was to transform the face of London. The author brought together b&w archive photographs and put them alongside colour photographs of the same, familiar sites.

Really great photos of London during the Blitz and after rebuilding, but my favorite bits were the reminiscences about what it was like to live under siege.
