Less action-packed, more of a look on how Rimuru strives to create a world he wants to live in. It's not one you'd be THAT willing to clamp on because it's laid back and thus easier to leave for later. However, I have the feeling it's the fun (yes, some sort of pun lol) before the storm. That semblance of happiness and freedom before something huge drops. I'm curious to see whatever that is.

This ended rather fast, given how it's shorter than the previous two volumes. It's more laid-back too, since most of the problems that previously barrage them are gone. So really, it just gave a look on how rimuru works around the town.

Anyway, I'm just real glad Diablo's back home hehe

Now, to the next.

I still like the characters so much! This one feels very much like it is setting up for something larger, but it doesn’t feel as dreadfully heavy as that kind of thing can feel at times

3.5/5 Definitely a weaker volume though still fun enough. This one covers Rimuru's plans to hold a giant festival and invite all of the world's leaders both traditional and Demon Lords. There are no big baddies this time around and not much "action" at all.

The first 1/5th is roll over from volume 7 and wrapping things up after the battle with Hinata and the church. After that in typical "Slime" fashion there are a lot of meeting's and planning sessions. These are still fun and I was particularly entertained by Rimuru and cast deciding to build and manage a dungeon.

After all is said and done though this was 300 pages and we didn't even get to the festival which I assume will be covered in volume 9, or hopefully not 9 and 10. I'm invested in these character's now though so I will be sticking with it. Just hoping that after this arc thing's start to pick up again. Maybe this time with some real consequences, though I doubt this part anyway.

The one where they plan

Volume 8 is essentially nothing but bureaucracy and festival planning. If that sounds like a good time to you, you probably already know that you’re going to like it.

I don't really know how I feel about this one.it's a lot of world building and less action and comedy now in general that's not a problem for me but it written in a way they for the whole book you expect something amazing to happen and it never gets there.we do get to experience the town growing and what our handy slime is preparing for in the future( great things).all in all if you can only read English I suggest you wait at least till the next two volumes come out before reading this one because this starts what basically becomes a 3 book story arc

The most exciting development yet, fully immersed in the world building as well as a fair amount of attempt at action scenes. It goes with the nature of this series that focus around a fantasy that includes all manners of imaginations readers might have had themselves in a magical world setting, but as to be expected the action scenes are overly explanatory with no clear rules or system and end in less than a handful of movements.

Time for a break from the action. And thank goodness. The last few volumes of this series were heavily action-packed. While action sequences are cool, there can be too much of a good thing. This is particularly true in series that suffer from power creep. Which is true for most anime/manga/light novels that involve fighting with superpowers. It’s not like Rimuru and co. are on the level of a Dragonball character, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he makes it to planetbuster status by the end of the series. So, it’s nice to see the characters dealing with issues that aren’t just straight-up fights.

The bulk of this book is about the Tempest leaders getting ready for a festival. With their nation established and relations started neighboring nations, it’s time to show themselves to the rest of the world. So, they decide to throw a big festival to show off the culture and technology they’ve developed. “Technology” being magitek in this case; it is a fantasy setting. Most of this book is very light-hearted. It’s day-to-day normal stuff (granted, for government leaders) instead of another fight to the death.

And it’s all just set-up. This is part one of a two-part story; we don’t actually see the festival here. That will happen in the next book. We do start to get some plot towards the end, setting up the challenge the protagonists will have to overcome in part two. I know not every reader will enjoy the bureaucracy and planning here, but I like it. It gives the author a chance at more worldbuilding and the readers an opportunity to reflect on just how far the story and characters have come. There will definitely be more action later, but for now, this was a nice litter breather.

Having dealt with the Church, it is time to deal with the aftermath and invite the world to Rimuru City to make a big reveal of the kingdom. What follows is a kind slice-of-life on organizing a big event and get-rich schemes (or to be more precise: this fun thing I thought up as a form of entertainment is surprisingly profitable according to my merchant friend). I personally enjoyed the lack of stakes, focussing mostly on meeting people and building things, a nice change of pace. It has a few quick fights, but that is mostly posturing and resolved very quickly, so no real action. It is very much part 1 of a 2 volume arc though. All in all, an enjoyable read.

Overall, I enjoyed volume 8, and I believe the part where Ramiris showed what she's capable of proves that, along with Guy Crimson, she was one of the greatest demons in her prime. The labyrinth was an interesting concept, and the various levels made me curious about what would happen next in the story. So far, Fuse has given me an exciting feeling that has drawn me deeper into the story. I started with the Anime adaptation, then Manga, and now the Light Novel. My interest in the series has been piqued, and I'm eager to get my hands on the most recent volumes. If you love this genre, I think you'd enjoy this book.

Personally, one of the charms of reading That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is its immersive world-building and in this volume, we dive into the day-to-day effort of Demon Lord Rimuru as he and his nation of monster prepare for a grand festival to name him as a Demon Lord. There's no big boss at the end of the volume but it introduces potential conflict waiting to happen when they launch their Founder's Festival. It's a good slice of life and I love reading it. On to the next volume.

As always this book was super fun. Usually, I enjoy Fuse really considering the consequences of actions and the minutia of Rimuru influencing this new world but man was I tired of it by the end of this one. This book was pretty much entirely set up for the festival. I spent the whole book pretty much like "okay, but when's the festival?" I still had fun though. I love all of the characters and the world, I just wanted more action to occur.

Honestly what's the point of introducing Momiji as ANOTHER potential love interest for Benimaru when Alvis is already there. Not to mention, Momiji is 15 years old... Benimaru is not much older than her but he for sure is not a minor. Alvis is literally the same age as Benimaru but noooo the author wants Benimaru to get together with a child instead. According to the Web Novel, Momiji (a 15 years old!!!) even ends up pregnant with Benimaru's child. Just.... ugh

This is the eighth volume in this series and I really loved it! This one doesn't have to rely on fights and such but rather goes into more world building and character building situations. We get to see the group as they begin to plan for a festival and its gonna be great! I'm looking forward to the next one.

The set up of the festival is fun but this book feels kinda bloated, to be honest. The author mentions that Vol 8 and Vol 9 were originally intended to be one volume. I understand Fuse went crazy in fleshing out the details but... 😋

Love the imagination behind this story

Such a fun read. A huge complicated world full of fantasy characters with all the same issues us earthlings face. Politics, romance, aspirations and so much more. There’s so many characters to love 💕

It was a pretty interesting nation-building story. It is lacking in plot and is mainly unfinished (as the author confesses in the afterword), but I did enjoy it. The last chapter also gave me a good laugh!

oh what an awesome cliffhanger!

Time to grab the next volume and see how the festival goes off with a bang! I have been thoroughly enjoying the manga and spin-offs and look forward to season 3 of the anime! The attention to detail and nuance keeps me thrilled and engaged!

Love it

I'm just shocked to read how fast Tempest is developing in a short time. Rimuru is truly amazing. I'm wondering why he was summon to that world. I can't imagine when more trouble will cross Rimuru.

Un très bon tome ! La construction de la ville et son développement complètement abusé ainsi que le fait que le rêve de tous les gamers est à portée de main (j'exagère peut être un peu), honnêtement c'est bien plus sympathique que les histoires de complot je trouve !

Part 1!

I just want to say if it does become a trilogy (for this story arc) I really don't mind! (Laughs)

El libro comenzo muy lento. Mejora un poco al final. Creo que es el libro en que menos accion hay de los que he leido de esta serie.
