Throw together a magical cat, a cursed tarot card deck and a free-spirited, obsessive-compulsive witch getting in touch with her sorceress forces, and you get Jane Starr, and her adorable ragdoll-Cheshire cat, Theodosia.
With a large glass of wine in hand, Jane romps through a contemporary fantasy, in an absurd and surreal land full of magical, light-hearted mystery.
I've always been a writer and reader. Those two qualities have defined my life. I teach and am also very interested in technology. I love cats(sorry to be so cliché) and am developing a love for taking care of gardens, though I've always loved plants and knowing the names of plant species. Love to walk through gardens and places with lots of wild things. I live on the west coast so there's plenty of wet wild space to explore. I've started a small publishing company called RainWood press and am just beginning to venture into self publishing. I've tended to be published traditionally, but as I get older, I realize I don't have enough time left to wait around and see if anyone wants to publish my work.
I've always taken a camera of sorts with me and take pictures(my cell phone has the best camera, ever) and on occasion I've published them, but have never thought of myself as photographer. I like to draw and paint and I do my own book covers, but I don't use my own art work because I don't have enough of it.
