Mackson King’s past is a dark, horror-filled chasm that could swallow the toughest, most dangerous men. A member of the notorious Portland Street Kings, he’s impossible to intimidate—but he can be hurt. He learned that the hard way, thanks to her. Lana. The one woman capable of easing his nightmares, of soothing his demons, was the very woman who shredded his heart. She took away his torments, only to become one of them.

Born into a family who lost their way long before she arrived, Lana Scavello has carefully enforced a steely interior that shields her heart from harm. But that doesn’t mean she can’t cry, and she’s spared Mackson King more tears than he ever deserved. Finding Lana at her most vulnerable, saving her when she felt the most invisible, he burrowed beneath her defenses to carve his own personal door to her soul. Only to decimate it, along with everything she’d ever known.

Now, years later, fate has thrown the couple together once more. Pain, heartbreak and betrayal will explode to the surface, leaving both of them raw, aching, exposed. And that’s when their true love story begins…

**Fatal is the second book of the Portland Street Kings Series and so I highly recommend you to read Collision first. **

Evie Harper has always been one of those authors who flies under the radar who deserves to be in the limelight. Her books and writing style are so fresh, smart, clean and crisp. Evie never fails to deliver a story that packs a punch. All her stories have a way of bringing out all the FEELS. And in this second installment of the Portland Street Kings Series, Evie Harper writes one wicked and addicting love story that will have our hearts colliding in one fatal romance.

 photo Fatal-Teaser1_zpsi7zq28ek.jpg

With Evie’s raw, gritty and provocative storyline, she takes her readers on an intense journey filled with sensuality, heartbreak and passion. Fatal is so much more than a second chance romance. This book is a gauntlet of emotions of two people having their lives on a crash collision course. Is it fatal? Yes, fatal in the sense that Mack and Lana have a deep rooted history that is so intense, heartbreaking and yet so magnetizing. This story. These characters. This raw emotions are meant to be experienced as loyalty are tested when danger threatens to tear them apart. As always, Evie has tethered her readers on a story that beautifully weaves drama, family, love, passion, loyalty, and danger in one ravishing storyline.

Mackson's Turn

As much as the first book, Collision, was the introduction to the Street Kings and it's members, Fatal continues the story while shining the spotlight on Mack and who he is. This review may spoil book one.

The war is still strong with Rex and his crew, all the while Slater worries about nothing but keeping his brothers and sister safe. Heavy things are about to go down around them and the Kings need to be ready for whatever Rex's next move is. He wants an eye for an eye and since he can't have Piper, he will push for more.

Lana, Rex's sister and only family member left finds herself caught right smack in the middle of Rex and Slater. She grew up with the Kings, however has to keep her loyalty to her only family member left. Mack is always there, in the background for her and nobody really knows why. Nobody except for Lana that is.

"You scare me. No one can break me like you can." ~ Mack

Big guy, big words. I loved that Mack was this big tough brawler and then let the sweetest things come out of his mouth. He loved Lana long ago and quickly finds out that his love for her never went away as much as he wanted it to. Lana hurt him and is considered the enemy, love or not.

"I know you're still hurting, so am I. But trust in us, Mack. We will break through the pain." ~ Lana

That's all you can hope for with this sweet, scary couple. With all the drama going on around them, it seems impossible. Rex won't back off and the Kings need to trust Lana, but can't bring themselves to fully do that. All the while, Lana has to decide between her family and the love of her life. I didn't envy the girl and the choices she had to make.

"I want you, Lana. I fuc#ing breathe easier just by having you close to me. I know being with you will open up a whole new world to me again." ~ Mack

So much trouble surrounding Lana, Mack and the entire King clan. Lines are blurred, secrets are revealed and there is an outsider coming in to make trouble. The book is well written from dual points of view. We hop back and forth in time to see how Lana and Mack ended up where they are today. There is a lot going on in the Portland Street Kings series and I am anxious to see what Della's book is going to bring us.

“In a perfect world, I’d take her o my bed and make her forget. My fingers would caress every inch of my Dove’s skin, and my stare would convey the thoughts in my mind as I’d remember each and every moment I fell more in love with her.”

5 fatal stars!!! What an explosion of emotions and feels!!!

This book took me on such a ride of epic proportions!! One minute I’m trying to piece my heart back together and then next I’m sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what’s going to happen next! I’m obsessed with this series. I seriously drop everything I’m doing to read these books, they’re that amazing!!! I won’t go too much into detail about the book itself, but I will say that I’m in love with Mack!!!

Fatal Wounds – they can be inflicted both mentally and physically, and some go deeper than others, depending on who perpetuates those cuts.

For Lana, her father and her brother beat her down with their words and their actions, never seeing her as more than someone to berate and shred her confidence, so she cowered to them and their demands. But the deepest wound – the one that ultimately broke her until she had the courage to build herself back up for herself and no one else – was the love of her young life, Mackson,

Mack’s gashes are many due to how he grew up and the fact that he could only rely on himself until he found his true family with Slater, but when the one person who meant everything to him…the person who he believed in more than anyone else and thought believed in him just as much betrays him, Mack becomes someone else, allowing those wounds to solidify and mold around his heart.

5 years is more than enough time to allow hatred and darkness to build, so when Lana and Mack are forced together due to a war just waiting to explode between Lana’s brother’s gang and the Portland Kings, emotions run high and truths are exposed that rock everyone to their core, making both Lana and Mack wonder if they can mend a relationship that ended with a series of misdeeds, becoming a better version of what they were.

Evie Harper’s Portland Street Kings series is an intense and volatile ride that focuses on what happens when people learn to protect themselves and those they love by any means necessary. There’s a lot of bad blood between Lana’s brother’s crew and Slater’s, which puts Lana right in the middle, almost like a pawn in a twisted game – a place she refuses to be but nonetheless finds herself in due to her connection with both sides.

A lot goes down in a short amount time in Fatal, and even at the end of the text, there’s still plenty up in the air – situations that can end fatally for many involved. The mafia connection will need to be explored more in the stories to come because there isn’t a significant amount of insight provided but now that Della’s story is coming, I’m sure all will be revealed and the danger will only get more intense, which is saying something based on what’s already gone down in the series.

"I want that and so much more with you...I see you, Dove."

And a childhood romance shatters in the face of a perceived wrong as two tribes go to war and love is buried as they find themselves on the wrong side of a battle neither one chose to take part in. Lana is the daughter of a family with Mafia connections, sister to The Poison Boys that has for some time been bitter rivals with The Portland Street gang. The war has reached a climax and the winner will take all even if the price is paid in blood. Lana finds herself in the one place she can't fathom - back in the arms of Mack. The boy who saw her and loved her for herself but walked away when family loyalty meant he needed to choose. Used as a bargaining chip to subdue her brother Lana is forced to face her past and deal with her suppressed emotions. Mack is a man of few words and he doesn't waste them, he is honest in his approach with her. She stole his heart years ago and it's been an empty raw wound ever since. Can the forced close quarters make them realise the need to forgive the past so they can have a future?

Fatal is the second book in this series and we learn a little more of the origins of some of the familiar faces. The plot thickens as not everything is as it appears to be and they all have skeletons in their closets that seem determine to be unearthed. Can The Portland Street Kings save their own from the past?

This story gripped me from the opening pages and I was desperate to discover how we ended up on the railway tracks staring at impending death...it's a fabulous talent that this author has to grab the reader and get them invested in the story right from the word go. Action packed with a perfect blend of angst, drama and romance I loved Lana and Mack's story with all it surprises along the way . As for Della....oooh evil ending! Roll on June I can't wait for Tail.

A four and a half star read.

The story has laughs, suspense, pain, kidnapping, secrets, attempted murder and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Collision (Portland Street Kings #1)

This is Lana and Mackson’s story. With the war still going on you get a little of the war issues. Rex still wants the war to go on. Lana who is Rex’s sister finds herself in the middle of the war. She is pulled in two different directions she grew up with the Kings but she is related to Rex. Mack loves Lana but with them being on different sides it will it ever work? Can Lana be trusted? Will she get a chance show Mack her love? Will Lana be able to choose between her family and the one love of her life? This story pulls you back into the war and the lives of the Kings. Lots of twists & turns and suspense in this story so be prepared to be on the end of your seat.

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series..

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

I absolutely loved Collision and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this next installment. Fatal picks up right where Collision left readers off, but this time we focus on Mack and Lana. As with the first book, Fatal’s prologue starts off with a heart stopping suspenseful scene and from there on it never ends. I absolutely love how this author continues this series with two different characters yet manages to keep up with the very chaotic and violate rivalry between Scavello’s and the Kings.

The Portland Street Kings are bound together not only by blood but also by their loyalty and trust. Mack and Lana’s relationship starts off years ago before the rivalry even existed between the two families. And let me tell you it was nothing but pure, innocent and beautiful. I loved how the author is able to take readers back to a time to a place where things were not hectic in their lives, back to a time when these kids were just kids. Mack and Lana’s relationship was one that developed through friendship where the two shared a very unique bond. However, due to a horrific and violent incident the once lovers are now sworn enemies.

Lana’s life with her father was difficult and seriously, that is really putting it lightly. When we are taken back to the past, we see firsthand just how cruel and vicious her father truly was. My heart broke for this young version of Lana. She was constantly being demeaned and mistreated by her father, but despite those vicious times in her life, she was able to find comfort and love with Mack, even if it was for a short time. It was hard to watch what happens to this young girl after things changed for her and Mack. The years have given Lana a much needed push to become a stronger person, but she is still helpless, full of pain and huge loss. Fate once again will put Mack and Lana together again and Lana will now have to face some hard truths that she has chosen to ignore.

Mack as we all know is a King. And for a King family comes first. He never once thought he would lose Lana in the process, but what also hurt was her betrayal. Mack is just like his brother Slater. He is an alpha male, tough, dominant and loving. Over the years no other woman came close to owning his heart, like Lana did and still does. We see him struggle to get over his anger and the sting of Lana’s betrayal. He doesn’t want anything to do with her, but he fails miserably. He is controlling and caring and has to be in her presence somehow.

I loved the connection Lana and Mack had. They were prefect for each other. Together they balanced each other out. The couple and the Kings have a lot going on, besides trying to move past the betrayal, hurt and trust.

Ms. Harper writes a vivid and multifaceted story that adds fascinating characters to her story line that as a reader I could not help but connect with and fall in love with. Fatal is not just about a romance and street life, it is also about these characters that will fascinate you. These kinds of characters only help to make this story more enthralling and engaging. Lana and Mack and the Kings have so much drama thrown at them in Fatal, but it was nice to see that the characters never once gave up on each other. Oh my word, and leave it to Ms. Harper to reveal more secrets, more danger and another possible love story. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next chapter of this series, because from where we left out, one story finally closed but there is another one front and center and I just need to have it.

It was a good fast paced read, that complimented the first book.

Evie Harper knocks it out of the park once again with a suspenseful and sexy story that I absolutely loved. Fatal continues the story of the Portland Street Kings, a gang of siblings who rule the streets and are bound together by loyalty and trust. I absolutely loved Collision, book 1 in the series, and I couldn't wait to dive into Mackson and Lana's story. They were two people who found love with each other at a young age, only to have that loved ripped apart due to a terrible event that set the course of the next five years. That day changed them and their families drastically, and as friends became enemies, Mack and Lana's blossoming relationship came to an abrupt halt.

This author is so brilliant at creating complex and intriguing characters that the reader can't help but fall in love with. She doesn't just write romantic suspense, she writes characters that you become emotionally invested in. Her character development is fantastic and helps create a story that hooks her reader until the very last word. Lana is someone who has had a difficult life. Her father was a cruel man who constantly belittled her, and that affected her immensely in her younger years. Her one source of solace was Mack, and when she lost him she lost a part of herself. When they re-connect, she is a much stronger person than she was when she was younger, but still has vulnerabilities that only he could see. She lived a life full of pain and loss, and I wanted so bad for her to find her happiness. As for Mack, he was such an incredible guy. Like the rest of the Portland Street Kings, he was an alpha male to his core, strong and passionate. Lana owned his heart, even during their separation. Even when he was angry with Lana, he was crazy possessive and protective of her, which I loved. He also had a very troubled past, having had to grow up fast as a child in order to survive a life on the streets. They were two lost souls who were made for each other, and even when they were apart or at their angriest at each other, their connection was undeniable.

Both Mack and Lana have been through so much. These were two people who had difficult childhoods and struggled to survive- for Mack it was a physical struggle, and for Lana it was emotional. Trying to navigate their feelings for one another while dealing with their pasts, as well as their feuding families and the threats of violence that surround them currently, was not easy for them. Their solidarity as a couple really showed as they faced these obstacles side by side. This is fast becoming one of my favorite series. The author blends the suspense and romance elements perfectly, and it wouldn't be an Evie Harper novel without the angst and emotion that she writes so well. This group of men and women aren't related by blood, yet they are fiercely loyal and love each other unconditionally. I cannot wait for Dom and Della's story, which will carry on the fantastic plot that began in book 1. I can't get enough of these great characters, and look forward to the rest of the books in this amazing series.

Last time, we had big 'brother' Slater. This time, we're moving on to the brother who I fell for almost as quickly as him -- Mackson.

What I loved about Mack in the last book was how he was the first to start giving Piper hell -- in a loving way. He accepted her into the family almost before everyone else. Granted, he had a leg-up on that situation, being Piper and Slater's "guard" and finally having enough, but still...

These books are interconnected. While each is a standalone, there is an underlying story that connects each of them -- more than just the family unit that makes up the Portland Street Kings. Mack and Lana's story started at the end of Collision -- hints of their past as well as the reasoning for why they're currently thrown together. Mack may want Lana, but Lana certainly holds a grudge against Mack... Equally though, Mack holds himself back from women because of the wound this particular one left behind.

Mack and his family are currently at war with Rex and his people -- and Rex just so happens to be Lana's brother. There's a big reason why the boys are going after Rex, and we get to see more of that story in the gripping prologue. We get to see a scene in Della's point of view, a scene that happened in the previous book but we didn't get to actually witness.

While the war is happening, Mack and Lana's tension starts to simmer and grow. Their past was rocky and their future is questionable... but watching big bad Mack melt for her? I just loved it. He was her savior in their early twenties, always fighting for her to believe in herself and block out her father's words. While he's angry for her choices five years ago (he does hold part of the blame), him standing up for her, even when the perpetrator is herself, is a habit deeply ingrained.

Like in the previous, I found the characterizations to be extremely well thought out. It was easy to get lost in the book and feel like you knew the people. I found the suspense line this time to build up appropriately but still felt a little let down in some places. The author also seemed to keep the similar makeup of the plot line. Where previously, Mack was the brother welcoming Piper, this time we have Pacer welcoming Lana -- Mack's family is unaware of their true history so it wasn't set up like re-welcoming. Granted, Kelso had his ideas.... The major difference in the set-up, something that I enjoyed but went back and forth on, was that the prologue is in Dell's point of view, and that we get a few other view points further in, too. I'm torn in whether or not I liked that, or if the set-up should have been the same, with the reader only getting those views once that particular family member's story was told.

Regardless...

Next up is Della! I've enjoyed watching this "only" sister. She's fiercely protected by her older brothers and hasn't had the easiest time during all the build up and excitement going on around her. I'm excited to watch as Dom forces his way into her heart; this woman has a lot of healing to do, and I'm anxious to watch it happen.

Fatal is the second book in the Portland Street Kings series and should be read after Collision since they share an ongoing storyline. This one focuses on Lana & Mack and part of this story runs parallel to Collision but rest assured there is very minimal repetition between the two books. There are some pretty graphic scenarios in this book that were essential to both the mood & plot yet for some they could cause emotional triggers.

Lana Scavello fell in love with Mack when she was just a girl and that loved just blossomed over the years until he finally recognized her in "that" way. When her father would tell her she was a worthless piece of trash, Mack would be there to reassure her that she wasn't. Mack would be her shoulder to cry and her strength when she needed him. Eventually Lana and Mack's relationship turned into a physical one where he professed to love only her but something went terribly wrong. Now five years later these two are being forced to spend time together again and they can't stand to be in the same room...

Mackson King grew up in the worst imaginable foster home with his three brothers and two sisters until they were able to break out and live on the streets to escape the evil clutches of the system. While at times they ate from dumpsters and lived in boxes they are now doing very well for themselves owning an automotive garage and racing as a top contender in Speed Wars. The only issue that keeps popping up is Rex Scavello who used to be a good friend to the Kings but now he has lost his mind. Slater's grand plan to keep Lana at their house until Rex agrees to back off is really going to test Mack's patience. It has been five long years and Lana is still the only woman that he loves as much as he hates...

This second chance romance was beautifully done with just enough heartache and angst. The drama and craziness in the prologue keeps you guessing all the way through until the final chapter. I for one am glad the author waited on releasing this one since it was so perfect. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next :)

Wowza and get a box of tissues ready is all I can really start this review with. This book was an roller coaster of emotions I wasn't expecting. I had been waiting for this book to come and when I finally got to read it I guess I wasn't expecting what I got. I mean as much as I liked Collision, I think that Fatal has got to be my favorite. And probably one of the best I have read so far this year.

I loved Mack. He's one of those characters that you can't help but love and adore. Already knowing his backstory I couldn't help but have my heart break all over again for him. In this book you can see how much his family means to him. How much he cares about them and how he would be willing to do anything to protect them. And even though he tries to keep his heart closed off to Lana, you could tell how much he still cared for her and feel the attraction between them.

I really liked Lana. And I really felt for her also, in fact my heart broke for her also. She's really just trying to find a place in the world for her. A place for her to belong. She's been let down by the men in her life, her father and brother. And even Mack let her down at one point. Now she finds herself being held by Mack and his brother's, she's hoping her brother will make the right choice and just this once choose her for once.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish, I couldn't put it down. I think I may have cried through half of it. As I said above this book is a roller coaster of emotions read and you will definitely need a box of tissues. It wasn't all sad though, there were definitely times that I laughed. Really I think this book or this series really is about family, and how you don't have to be blood related to be family.

I'm giving this book 4.5 Stars Out of 5 and can't wait for more!!!!!

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants and swearing.

What in the actual fuck. Are you kidding me with that prologue right now? Fuck. Focus. Deep breath. Turn the page. Maybe it will all go away. Bad dream sequence? As if I was that lucky. Shit. Fuck. Damn.

For the last 5 years the Street Kings and Poison Boys have been at war. Rex Scavello is clouded by his need to avenge his dead father. He will not accept that Della King, the girl he loves, was raped by his own father. Slater felt pressure to take drastic measures. He just found the love of his life and does not take her life being threatened lightly. So now 29 year old Mackson "Mack" King must face the fact he has kept his relationship with 28 year old Lana "Dove" Scavello from his family. Memories surface. Secrets are told. Lives are changed.

“I’m getting tattoos, Dove. I got plans for a whole sleeve on my left arm, but what I meant was I want that kind of relationship with a woman, me where we make a lifelong commitment to each other. And I’m not talking about a bullshit marriage with a piece of paper that easily be torn up and deleted as if it never happened. I mean ink, something engraved in us forever, that we will be buried with.”

"Is this real?"
"Yes, it has to be because I can finally breathe again."

I mentioned this already but it deserves to be repeated. Freaked the fuck out at the prologue. Continuing story lines are a bitch. My main focus was entirely on that particular event (and not believing it was happening). Made it extremely difficult to switch gears and focus on what fucked up things Mackson and Lana did to each other. I am hooked on this family. Cannot wait for Della next up.

Fatal is the 2nd in the Portland Street Kings series and I liked it! This must be read in order to understand the characters and storyline, so definetely start with Collision which is Slater and Pipers story.
We pick up where we left off even though at the beginning, it shows a prelude to what is to come. Rex is basically unhinged and going crazy and since he cannot have Piper, he will extract his revenge on the one person that meant most to him, Della. Della has accused Rex's father of raping her. It's all starting to come out and unravel people. But Della, Pacer, Mack, Kelso and Slater are the Portland Street Kings and they are family and will do what is necessary to protect themselves. They kidnap Lana, Rex's sister, to try and stop Rex from unraveling and doing more damage than good. Lana doesnt know what to do anymore. Rex is not the guys she remembers as her brother but she also doesnt want to be with the Kings because of Mack.

Im going to admit, the tension in the 1st story with them had me ansy for more. When we got here I felt like it started out much the same, alot of angst and anger and it just really pulled me in. Once they let that aside I felt like it lost its punch to me and then throwing in the mafia mix confused me even though I know it is setting up the next story.

I still enjoy the whole comradery between the characters and want to see what happens. Evie has a way of bringing me in from the get go to wanting to know more about her story and its characters. Very versatile and they have alot of dept. I care for the characters and they give me all the feels!

This book had me from Prologue to "The End." The beginning took me by surprise and I knew I was in for a crazy ride.

Lana is the enemy's sister but before that she was Mackson's Dove. They fell in love when life had them both down, when they were young and impressionable. Lana's father was cruel and Mack's life was on the streets. They made promises and plans together. I never expected the story of their beginnings, because once tragedy struck, it was over for them. Years did not erase the deep loathing that they had for each other. But now they must face what happened to them all that time ago, because the King's have a new housemate and she did not come willingly.

Lana was trying to put her life in some order but her brother is coming unhinged and his need for revenge is taking over his entire focus. Mack's loyalty is to his family and this war that is brewing with Rex's crew. Rex has already shot up is house and is still after his family. The only plan they have is to take something he values and hope they can resolve this fight.

Drugs, guns, secrets, kidnapping, and whole lot of drama who knows if this war can end. And who knows if mistakes of the past can be fixed. Mack and Lana have built walls and mistrust based on their perceptions and when faced with reality they left unsettled. There is definitely an undeniable attraction but can they fix what is broken? Will the war be settled? What new problems will be uncovered? Well now you just need to read it and find out because like I said from beginning to end, it was a wild ride.

Oookay, so where to start with this one? In Book 1 we met Piper ... she was trying to right the wrongs that had been done to her, she was trying to make the world a better place for the next generation. We have all been beaten down by situation and picked ourselves back up again, we can relate.

In this book we meet Lana. Lana has been pulled down by her own family! By the person who is supposed to be there to love, cherish and build her up. We haven't all been here, but you certainly get a good feel for it in this book. The emotional content is impressive! Such a way with words, knowing just how to draw you in and where the line is between enough and too much information.

What a way to start! It had me on edge all the way through, was it a nightmare? Was it a flashback? That can't really be how it ends? What happened to get to that! This is an emotional rollercoaster of a book, with twists and turns like no other. How on earth so much story content managed to get in here along with everything going on between Mackson and Lana I have no idea.

I have to say Lana is a fabulous character, I love the development from the snippets we have seen in the previous book to the woman we see here. We follow her from childhood through to adulthood and all the twists and turns along the way. We get to see the Kings from an outside perspective and see a little into their illegal empire.

I am sure there is going to be so much more in the next book and I can't wait to dive in!

The Prologue had me ,,, my god it was intense, Evie has a way of pulling you in from the beginning, she doesn't wait to draw out the great parts of a story, she just starts it off with a bang, I love that about her writing.
I seriously can't even explain how good this book was, so much angst, love, loyalty pain and betrayal.

Lana is such a strong female character, my heart broke for her so many times.
Her loyalty to her brother, her strength and fierce protection of the ones she loves. I absolutely loved everything about her.

Mackson, let's just say you can't help but fall in love with him. He is unbelievably protective of his family, there is nothing he won't do to protect them. I guess I could tell you all the Kings are that way. You just don't mess with this gang. Because they will rally and you won't see what's coming.

As for the story, brilliant. The love between Lana and Mack, undeniable. Their story, just beautiful. The scenes are so detailed And you feel as though your there and experiencing it all along side them. I felt everything these characters were feeling.
I cried and smiled and even laughed.
But most of all I fell in love.

I can't WAIT for Della's story.
Thank you Evie for another phenomenal book.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Mack is Slater's brother and best friend. They have been together from childhood to adulthood.

Now the story continues when Della, baby sister of this family, gets hurt and there will be hell to pay. This brings Lana into the fold, again. The memories of past loves is at the forefront of this story of Mack and Lana. The past has feelings of betrayal and lost love.

Years later, Mack and Lana try to move forward from where their past left them. But when family loyalty is put on line, Lana and Mack are faced with some very important decisions.

These two characters interact with each other with real emotions and comedy. With more twist and turns, intertwining more of the past along with the other family members. The complexity of each characters role is sure to be entertaining with all.

When tragedy befalls Lana, her world is crushed and feels alone, but Mack's presence, strength and love keeps her on a path of sanity.

I am hooked with this story. I can't wait to see what the future holds for all these characters.

Lana Scavello was born into a family that lost its way, and she was the one who suffered the most. But the final straw was when Mackson King destroyed her. Now she's built steel cage around her heart to protect it from anymore harm. Mack has a horror filled past that nearly brought him to his knees. The bright spot in his life was his dove, who made things better. He's now a member of the notorious Portland Street Kings, and it's impossible to intimidate him. But Lana showed him, that he can be hurt when she broke his heart into pieces. Years later, fate throws them together, and all the past wounds are sliced open again. Will they finally be able to heal completely now?

I LOVED the first book in this series, but I really had a hard time understanding what was going on in this one. I spent up to 45% confused as to what was happening. That doesn't mean I didn't grow to love Lana and Mack, because I did. But I felt like things fast forwarded too quickly. I do love Evie Harper's writing style as I never know what's going to happen next from her diabolical mind. The action packed storyline kept my heart racing, and the development of Lana was fantastic. I am excited to read the next book, as I do love those Portland Street Kings.

I just loved loved loved fatal, the close knit family that the Portland Street Kings are and how they they take care of one another is just one beautiful bond and when they Kidnap Lana whom is Rex's sister because he will not stop with the grudge that he has against them for Killing his dad. What he does not know is that someone else is actually taking the blame for his fathers death. Lana and Mackson at first hate each other because they thought that they each left the other, but they soon find out that things are not as it appears and they they have this connection that has never gone away and that they have always loved each other even though separated for five years. They fall madly back in love. Rex has gotten himself into a horrible drug addiction and needs some help is it to late? Lana finds out that her brother is wasting away and is skin and bones and not the man he once was and gets him into the hospital but things are not as they appear. Rex is angry at Della and can't believe that his father raped her and thats why he is so far gone, and he has already injured her and shot up the house and put her into the hospital, will he cause more damage?

As always Evie Harper guts you and makes you suffer with her amazing story telling abilities, my favorite thing about this author.

The Portland Street Kings are a family, to whom fate has kept coming back to make suffer. Mackson and Lana story is almost like a modern tale of Romeo and Juliet.

Mackson is ready to be with Lana forever, but what will happen when life betrays them and pulls them apart. There is so much happening between their families. Will they be able to be strong enough to fight for that love that they have hidden for so long? Mackson is one special young man and the love he has for Lana is one for the books (pun intended). Lana's brother is creating problems for his family and Lana is left with the decision of choosing between him and the love of her life. The mafia is now involved in Lana's family dealings and her brother is in really big trouble with them.

Della, Mackson's sister, need to be protected and as always this men are a united front to protect family. What will happen when one of their own gets in really big trouble?

This book is a spectacular read, keep the tissues near though, I promise you will need them.

I really enjoyed this book. Mack and Lana were great together. The lock and key ratio was adorable and so sweet it had me swooning. I like all the characters and the story line is great. Loved the angst and family drama. the unbelievable bond this family has is just amazing. My only issue with the book is I felt like it focused to much on Della and her story. I know that it's being set up for the next book, but I just felt like Mack and Lana got shafted and deserved the book to be more about them. I was confused instantly when I read the prologue and it was from Della's point of view. I though that was really strange for a book that's supposed to be about two other main characters to start from another's POV. Don't get me wrong it was intense and I liked it, but it was definitely a different direction than I thought it would start. Anyways, I'm really enjoying the series so far. Della's and Dom's book I know will be full of suspense and I'm looking forward to that, but honestly I'm so excited for Kelso's book that should be out in march. His character just seems so lovable and fun and can't wait to see what his storyline will be.
