✨only one bed✨
firstly, it is super refreshing to read a story about two people who are not in their early twenties, the two protagonists are both forty with established careers and no existential dread of what is coming next. they’re both figuring out what they want out of life and love - and I felt so utterly engrossed by their journeys together and separately.
It was also so fun to read about an absolutely badass FMC, Emma, a top new york lawyer who takes no prisoners.
MMC Aiden is a swoon-worthy, man written by woman, book boyfriend with a tragic backstory and a heart of gold. the two end up in each others lives unexpectedly and steamy moments are peppered into the pages expertly. this book honestly ticked all my boxes, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
while I’m not a fan of a third-act breakup, I feel this book handled it well. there wasn’t any extensive miscommunication or drawn out angst - and that made me want to kiss my kindle.

Eve is an author I adore, and I’m continually blessed with ARC’s of their books. I recommend the whole techboys series written by Eve if you are a romance lover!

I fell for this book so fast. Aiden and Emma? Their connection was unreal. The kind that makes everything else disappear while you’re reading. They ended up in the same place by total chance — both needing a break from real life — and they never saw each other coming.

But once they met, it was over for me. I was hooked.
The chemistry was no joke. The steam? On a whole other level. But what made it even better was how much depth they had. They didn’t just look good together — they listened, they noticed the little things, they showed up for each other. I could feel that pull, the kind that builds slow but hits hard.

It was never just about attraction. There was this thoughtful intensity to both of them — the way they moved through things, how loyal they were, how honest they tried to be, even when it was messy. Every moment between them had weight, even the quiet ones.

This book gave me everything: heat, emotion, tension, and that kind of romance that leaves a mark. I didn’t want to let them go.

This was such a sweet story. It's the first one out of the series that I've read, and now I'm really curious about the others.

I love how Aiden remains humble despite his sudden financial gain. The fact that you'd never expect to find someone like him at a low budget hostel, sharing a room with complete strangers, is just the cherry on top. His personality is adorable, and yet totally realistic.

Emma is top notch. Her male colleagues think she's a pushover, but she doesn't take their games any longer. She definitely deserved better after 15 years. I'm so happy about how things played out for her (especially after kissing not one but two awful frogs in her past. Yikes!) She totally deserves a guy like Aiden.

When Aiden Jargen steps down as CEO of a top tech company, he’s left with a multi-million-dollar payout. He has the means to do anything. Yet, the forty-year-old is desperately lonely. After being adopted from a shady Romanian orphanage as a child, Aiden has dedicated his life to coding and avoiding any emotional connection, and it has left him yearning for more. On a whim, he books a trip to Thailand, hoping a change of scenery will provide a renewed sense of purpose.

Emma Smythson’s trip to Thailand couldn’t be coming at a better time. Her personal and professional life in New York is coming apart at the seams. A greedy co-partner at her law firm is trying to steal her division from under her, and she’s been stuck in a relationship that should have been over ages ago. She arranges to stay at a hostel, hoping for some fun and adventure (and maybe a fling wouldn’t hurt!)

The two have an instant connection and quickly become inseparable on their idyllic vacation. But the situation with Emma’s law firm in New York is getting worse, and she has to cut her vacation short. More, Aiden receives a mysterious letter in the mail, forcing him to face his past. Paradise can’t last forever, and Aiden wonders if there is a future for him and Emma, or should they chalk it up to a temporary fling?

The Escape is the final novel in The Techboys Series by Eve M. Riley, and it checks all the boxes of an immersive read. Aiden and Emma meet by chance on an unconventional and at times perilous vacation in Thailand, where they engage in deliciously steamy rendezvous and immerse themselves in the rich culture. But they can’t escape reality forever, and the pair grapple with scandal, long distance, and responsibility when they are beckoned back to their lives in the real world.

This second-chance love story excels at exploring the struggles of modern relationships—geography, careers, money, and complicated arrangements. Aiden and Emma’s dynamics will appeal to romance realists. While the novel definitely has some decadent encounters, it isn’t your typical sweep-you-off-your-feet situation. It’s rife with baggage, trust issues, and past traumas, and that’s what makes it so gritty and relatable.

Riley has a knack for developing complex characters that never feel cookie-cutter. While it was not implicitly stated, Aiden’s eccentricity exuded neurodivergent vibes—the social awkwardness and the hyperfixation on coding, as well as a proclivity to blurt out his thoughts without a filter. Representation is crucial, especially in contemporary romance. I commend the author for crafting protagonists that are emotionally resonant. It not only broadens the readership but also provides a much-needed inclusivity for this genre.

If you enjoy reading character-driven romance that focuses on the nuances of modern-day relationships in a variety of locales, you’ve got to read Eve M. Riley’s The Escape. It checks off all the boxes for mature second-chance love stories. Read the book as a standalone or commit to the entire series (you won’t be disappointed!)

Disclosure: I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review. As someone who loves supporting indie authors, I always aim to share thoughtful, fair feedback. While I have personal reading preferences like a love for fantasy, horses, or specific tropes, I never let that impact my rating unless it is relevant to the book’s intent or audience. I review with the genre and readership in mind.

The Escape is the sixth book in the Tech Boys series, but it stands perfectly well on its own. You do not need to read the others to enjoy this one.

I loved the dynamic between Aiden and Emma. Aiden is an oddball new billionaire and absolutely not used to wealth or luxury, which made him a really interesting and refreshing lead. Emma, on the other hand, is already successful and extremely wealthy in her own right as a high-powered lawyer. Both of them are workaholics, both emotionally guarded, and both struggling to truly switch off. Watching two people with that much internal resistance slowly gravitate toward each other was very rewarding.

The romance begins as a fling, something light and casual, but their connection keeps pulling them back together. It is a slow development, but still has plenty of spice along the way. The pacing felt natural and mature, and I appreciated how it portrayed two career-driven people learning to let someone in.

There was also a peek into Emma’s work life and while I hope the office conditions were exaggerated for effect, I found myself feeling stressed for her. No wonder she needed a vacation.

One thing I wish we had more of was a deeper dive into Aiden’s neurodivergence. It was hinted at and subtly present, but a bit more exploration would have added extra depth to his character and representation overall.

Still, I really enjoyed this book. It is a great pick for readers looking for older characters in a grounded, realistic setting, navigating intimacy and connection after putting love on the back burner for too long.

Highly recommend for fans of emotional slow-burns, vacation flings with depth, and smart, independent leads.

I absolutely loved reading the story of Emma and Aiden! This was such a thoughtful read that I couldn’t put down full of heat, emotion, amazing tension, and second chances that flowed beautifully.

Aiden is tech CEO who’s in desperate need of something new and a break. He books a trip to Thailand to escape and recharge when he meets Emma, a lawyer from New York who’s been having to deal with draining people in her life and in desperate need of an escape herself. Sparks fly when they meet, and the chemistry, steam, and connection between them was electric! What I loved just as much (if not even more) than the flirty energy was the deep honesty, loyalty, and support they showed for one another too. Their story was treated with so much love, it will leave you engrossed from beginning to end.

Some tropes and what you’ll find inside the book 👇🏻🖤🛩️

The Escape

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the 6th book in the ‘Techboys’ series, and they NEVER disappoint. They are all stand-alone stories too!

This story follows Emma, the high-level lawyer, and Aiden, the coding-tech genius. They both seek an escape to the beautiful Thai islands; from here a chance explodes into a burst of chemistry neither have felt before, and soon Emma and Aiden don’t want to say goodbye and risk losing something they didn’t realise they were missing.

Emma and Aiden’s story is such a realistic dynamic. It was refreshing to have two main characters that are straightforwards and eager to have clear and strong communication. The plot is so dynamic, and so much happens within the story too; there is love, laughter and plenty of drama.

A romance full of passion, honesty and a slow burn to keep you hooked. ✨

I have loved the Tech boys series so far. Each book so unique yet interlinked but can easily be read standalone.

The Escape is another cracker of a story and Eve has done it again. The characters in all these stories are always so engaging - flawed yet wonderfully warm and engaging characters. Aiden and Emma are perfect main characters. Successful and driven but both missing love in their busy lives. No spoilers but I loved how their paths crossed and was hooked on their romance. Aiden is such a lovable tech geek - a billionaire with a complicated and painful past Emma is a successful lawyer battling in a still too male dominated world. Both take a rare break and meet on holiday. Emma is so feisty and was a great FMC.
I just loved the story - Eve weaves such clever plots and builds the story brilliantly that you just can’t put it down. It’s exciting, funny, heartfelt, spicy and angsty with such a strong story. Can be read standalone but the whole series is cracking.

I received an ARC of this book - these are my thoughts and given voluntarily.

✈️The Escape ARC Review✈️

🩵Eve M Riley has done it again with The Escape, the sixth book in the Techboy series. The characters felt so relatable, and I loved watching their story unfold! Riley also weaves in beautifully complex side plots into the main romance of the story.

✈️The novel follows Emma, a corporate lawyer at a crossroads, and Aiden, a tech genius who just sold his company, as they journey through Thailand and beyond together. They meet in Thailand, and there is an instant connection. Emma pushes Aiden to be more adventurous, while Aiden provides unwavering support for Emma when she needs it most. Their whole story felt so real, and I really enjoyed their individual character arcs as well as their relationship arc together.

I really enjoyed reading this book! Aiden and Emma were perfect for each other. Both were career driven and successful but had struggles of their own. Hard working lawyer and a tech geek made them a perfect match! When they both decided to take a break they didn’t expect that a short vacation would bring them together.

The story was well written with a bit of spice and a great ending.

I would definitely recommend reading it!

“The Escape” is a captivating read that grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let go! The author has created a world filled with compelling characters that I genuinely cared about. Each character is well-developed, with their own unique backstories and motivations, making their interactions feel authentic and engaging.
What really stood out to me was the story’s momentum. The plot moves at a perfect pace, with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end.
Overall, “The Escape” is a must-read for anyone who loves a thrilling and well-crafted story. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next!

I received an Arc of this and is the second in the series I've read although can be read as a stand alone.

I love the characters in this, Aiden remains humble throughout as he becomes financially well off and seeing him to adapt to this is amazing. Emma is already used to wealth due to her career. It's lovely to see two characters who are so different gravitate towards each other.

The romance begins as nothing more than a fling and slowly develops into more. However, it didn't feel slow and felt very natural considering the characters and who they are.

Overall, I loved this and can't wait to read more.

I got the opportunity to get an advanced reader copy of this book and I am so glad that I did! It was a nice read and such a wonderful story. I loved the characters Aiden and Emma. A tech guy and a hot shot lawyer who have a passion for each other that was totally relateable. There were small moments between the two that left me holding my breath to stay in that moment with them . As with any love story there were a few miss steps but they found their way to each other in the end.

Eve astonishes me with her writing every single time!

The newest additions to the Techboys family are Aiden and Emma, Aiden is a successful billionaire yet he has yet to learn about commitment, trust and his own emotions. Emma is a feisty lawyer working in New York, she has worked hard to get to where she is and faces losing it all. These two strangers meet by chance in Thailand after booking time away to escape from their normal day to day and the magic happens from there!✨

Eve captures the smallest details about her characters, allowing them to feel as though they are real people and you’re right there with them. This is a romance novel filled with a little bit of slow burn, strangers/friends to lovers, suspense and tension.🥵

I absolutely love Aiden, at this point I’ll put in an order for every single one of the Techboys - they’re all so great! (Don’t worry Fabian, you’re still my most favourite…)

I can’t wait to see what Eve comes up with next and to explore more relationship and techy adventures in the next books!♥️

ARC Review – 4 stars
The Escape by Eve M. Riley is the sixth installment in the Techboys Series, and it completely caught me off guard—in the best way. It was my first read by this author, and I’m already adding more of her books to my TBR.

This romance follows two people in their 40s, each facing their own personal struggles, who find a meaningful connection during a vacation in Thailand. Their chemistry is undeniable, but reality hits hard when they return to their separate lives across the U.S.

What I loved most was the character growth and the mature, emotional layers to the romance. It's rare to see a love story about older characters that feels this real and heartfelt. The setting, the tension, and the emotional payoff all worked beautifully.

A solid 4-star read—and a great pick if you enjoy stories about second chances, long-distance love, and finding connection when you least expect it.

The Escape, by Eve M. Riley, is a contemporary romance that follows two people on opposite sides of the country each trying to outrun parts of their lives that no longer fit. Aiden, a brilliant but emotionally guarded tech founder, sells the company he built from nothing and suddenly faces a terrifying blank space where his purpose used to be. Emma, a razor-sharp New York lawyer, sees the ground shifting under her feet when a ruthless colleague threatens the career she’s spent fifteen years building. Both of them are pushed toward escape, but in ways they didn’t expect and aren’t fully prepared to admit to themselves.

Riley builds her characters from the inside out, and that pulled me in. Aiden’s interior world feels both ordered and cracked, like a glass that has been knocked but not shattered. His past in the Romanian orphanage, the tremor in his hands, and the way he tries to manage his life by managing objects on his desk. Those details land with quiet force. Emma, on the other hand, is all sharp lines and forward motion until you glimpse the exhaustion under her competence. Her scenes with her family, her sister, even the texts from her mother, felt so real I could practically hear the phone buzz. The author lets their defenses show without stripping them of dignity, which kept me rooting for both of them long before their paths crossed.

What surprised me most was how much the book explores the idea of identity inside a romance-driven plot. Aiden’s wealth doesn’t free him; it disorients him. Emma’s success doesn’t shield her; it isolates her. Both are accomplished adults who still feel like they’re standing in the wrong rooms of their own lives. The writing makes space for that confusion. Some moments are clipped and almost businesslike. Others slow down and stretch out, like the narrator is finally taking a breath. The shift in tone feels intentional. It mirrors the way big life changes often come in waves that don’t match each other. I liked that the book didn’t rush to soothe anything too quickly.

The Escape is a contemporary romance novel, but it leans into emotional excavation more than tropey spectacle. I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy character-driven stories with grown adults who are messy, thoughtful, competent, and a little lost. If you like romance that blends heart with personal reckoning, this one will land well.

A huge thank you to Eve M. Riley for letting me get my hands on an early copy of The Escape! What a ride — I’m still smiling (and fanning myself a little)!

First off, I adored Emma and Aiden. Their connection? Instant. The banter? Chef’s kiss. The yearning? Off the charts. And let’s talk about Thailand — could there be a more perfect setting for a sizzling love story that also manages to be tender and genuine? I don’t think so.

Both Emma and Aiden are total powerhouses in their careers, but it was such a joy to see them step back and actually take a breather — well, kind of. Aiden’s idea of relaxing involves... coding? Honestly, Aiden, I don’t get it, but you do you. 😂

Now, let’s get into the delicious drama. The miscommunications between them had me yelling at my Kindle like, just talk to each other already! But it served the plot and gave us some laugh-out-loud and eye-roll-worthy moments, so I can’t be too mad.

Aiden. Wow. Where do I start? Green flag city. He’s protective and soft in all the right ways, smart (nerd alert), and oh-so-dorky — but like, in a hot way. And when things heat up between him and Emma? WHEW. 🔥🔥 That man knows how to talk dirty and deliver. Their chemistry was off-the-charts intense, but what really got me was how that passion evolved into something so deep and real when they returned home. It just kept growing in the most satisfying way.

Also, big props to the workplace drama woven into Emma’s arc. It was a sharp and honest portrayal of the corporate world — the games, the backstabbing, the fight to stay ahead. Emma didn’t just survive it; she owned it. Total boss move.

Can we talk about the MVPs? Doreen and Beth — the sisters we all need. Supportive, witty, fiercely loyal, and always ready with the right words at the right time. More of them, please!

And that epilogue… I’m not spoiling anything, but let’s just say I squealed. It was everything I hoped for and more. Truly the cherry on top of a story that already had me hooked.

Overall, The Escape is another fantastic addition to this growing series. Romantic, heartfelt, spicy, and full of personality — I didn’t want it to end. If you haven’t picked up an Eve M. Riley book yet, this is your sign. Go grab it. Now.

Both Emma and Aiden are needing an escape: Emma from a high pressure, stressful job in a prestigious New York law firm where a colleague is trying to undermine her, and Aiden from his new life of leisure after selling the company he started. Both are at a crossroads in their life. And it’s not all business related—Aiden never had or took the time for relationships, sticking with casual hookups, while Emma stayed in a loveless relationship because she was too busy to fix it or get out of it.

They meet at a hostel in Bankok, and Aiden is immediately smitten. But Aiden is awkward and socially ill at ease and Emma is wary, so it’s not a smooth road for them.

I like Aiden a lot. He’s got a complicated background that leaves him feeling like he needs to earn his place and that’s on top of his nerdy, techie, awkwardness. But he’s got more game than he thinks. He’s earnest and surprisingly funny.

There’s a lot I really love about Emma too—she’s super competent, intelligent, and she’s built up her department by being a straight shooter, willing to delegate, fostering real relationships with her clients, and knowing her business well enough to win. But she’s not perfect. She’s maybe more trusting than a corporate lawyer should be—she’s been a little naive in her dealing with her boss, she’s let herself be gaslighted by her boyfriend. Yet there’s one thing about her that irritated me (it stems, I’m sure from a personal pet peeve)—she’s a bit hypocritical when it comes to Aiden. Twice in the story she holds him to a higher account than she does either herself or others, writing him off as a jerk or rat when either someone else does the same thing or when it was something she herself did. Story-wise, I understand why she had to react that way, but it was annoying.

Overall, this was an intriguing story that kept me interested. Both Emma and Aiden had great sisters who were true allies for them. I loved how the business side of things resolved—very satisfying. And I liked the resolution of Aiden’s background. It was an interesting bit of history too.

I received an ARC of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.

“I get this deep feeling of peace inside when I’m with you, Emma...I want to see your dark hair on the pillow next to me every morning..."

“I love you, Aiden...His eyes close slowly...When he opens his eyes again, They're watery and red-rimmed."
“You think I didn’t?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t expect it. No one has ever said that to me before.”

If you don't fall in love with Aiden and Emma have your heart checked out. The Escape, by perfect romance writer, Eve M. Riley, gets inside you and just won't let go.

Aiden was abandoned and abused, until he met his parents in a Romanian orphanage. Growing up in San Francisco he flourishes and sells his coding creation for millions. Burnt out from never understanding social subtleties and years of giving more to his work than relationships he escapes to Thailand.

Emma is a powerhouse NY lawyer making her firm rich. She's promised the top spot; until a male co-worker sabotages her. Needing to recharge, she ends her 9 year relationship that was more a convenience than a relationship, and heads to Thailand.

When Aiden and Emma collide it isn't insta love, it isn't combative, but it is something. Soon they are exploring this world together, away from life's distractions.

As they talk, laugh, and contemplate life, it's apparent this isn't just a fling. Then the real world invades with responsibilities and problems. But here's the thing. They are intelligent, considerate, supportive and don't let doubt fester. They communicate.

The Escape is written with a director's mind. It flows like a romance movie, from Emma's sarong that has Aiden speechless to the mosquito netting covering their sensuous lovemaking to the crossroads they face together.

It's a standalone but part of the TechBoys romance series. All five books are 5 star reviews from me. Take some time for yourself and getaway with The Escape.

I received a free copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Aiden is just a small child and he doesn't understand the language the man and woman visiting the orphanage are speaking is just knows they are freezing and hungry and feels they can help him.

Aiden has come a long way from the child living in the deplorable orphanage in Romania. He wrote an algorithm where New Yorkers shared their best fountain soda locations and it just sold for billions.

Now he has money and nothing to do. He is a geek. Writing code is all that he knows. But when his assistant asks him where he could go now that he could go anywhere in the world all he could think about was the island somewhere in Thailand staring at him from his screensaver.

Emma is sitting in a board meeting listening in shock as they announce that the law firm is going to be restructuring and that the corporate division is where they planned to start cutting costs. The corporate division... the divisions she runs. Not what she wants thrown at her the day she is leaving for her three-week vacation to Thailand. Especially since her nemesis is watching her in glee.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Aiden was totally out of his comfort zone in the hostel in Thailand, but the beautiful, feisty woman demanding to speak to the manager is starting to make it worth while.

Aiden and Emma couldn't be more different. He was an introverted geek who gets lost in code. But when he sees her color-coded spreadsheet of the local attractions, he falls in love.

I really loved Aiden and Emma. Aiden totally came out of his comfort zone when he offered to watch over her after an injury. But misunderstandings almost destroy everything. This book is steamy hot and will have you turning the pages as Emma tries to fight for her career and with Aiden's secret about who he is. Highly recommend!

This is an MF romance and is book six of the Techboys Series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone. This was a 4 star 3 spice read for me! Tropes include: later in life love (40s), nerdy MMC x bad a$$ FMC, low-key billionaire, vacation friends to lovers, he cares for her when she’s sick, long-distance relationship, occasional miscommunication, trauma x healing, HAE. Eve has added another beautiful love story to this amazing series! I absolutely loved that these two got the HEA they deserve when neither thought it was in the cards.

Emma (FMC) is beyond ready for her solo vacation to Thailand. It’s just what she needs after the stress of work and her poor excuse for a relationship weighing her down. Lucky for her there is an incredibly handsome stranger who is also staying in the hostel she booked. Is there more to this socially awkward man than meets the eye? She’s more than willing to find out.

Aiden (MMC) feels way out of his depth. Who knew a vacation could be so intimidating? Not being prepared for vacation is one thing but not being prepared to meet a gorgeous woman and not make a terrible impression is another. Emma is amazing and he is experiencing all sorts of foreign feelings. Is she interested?

Each character brings baggage to the table. The law firm Emma works for is trying to pass her over on a promotion she’s worked hard for, and Aiden is trying to find himself. As an orphan from Romania, he has a lot of trauma. Coding and the people in the tech community have offered him a sense of belonging and now that he is semi-retired, he isn’t sure what to do. Give these two a chance. You won’t regret it!

Emma & Aiden
*
They both travel solo to Thailand. She is on a planned vacation and his decision was based on a photo on his computer screen. He is a tech man and a quirky character. You fall in love with his weirdness right away. She is a lawyer on her way to a higher position in her firm - or so she thinks. She is an Excell queen and I absolutely love that. After she gets robbed and taken to a hospital they travel together to an island - Koh Sukorn. There is only one bed in the shack and everything else is obviously booked. We all know how the one bed trope ends, right? 👀
Their dynamic is very nice. Super calm and easy going. His blurting out what he thinks and his honesty is very refreshing. A very different kind of man we're used to. Also he's a blusher🩷
I enjoyed myself reading the book. The miscommunication/missunderstanding was very predictable and if I'm honest I was hoping it wouldn't happen, but it did.
The book touches the Romania's problematic with orphanages after the decree that restricted the abortions and contraception. That decree was used to increase the population of the country. When coming to the end of the book I was waiting for more information about his decision about Romania and him dealing with the trauma. I was not disappointed and got all the details I wanted.

🩰 Title: The Escape by Eve M. Riley
✨ Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
📆 Read: 27 July 2025

🎧 on loop: False God by Taylor Swift
(vibe = electric tension, emotional intensity, soft moments that hit too hard)

📖 Okay, I was instantly obsessed. The second Aiden and Emma entered the same scene, I could feel something shift. Their connection was magnetic, the kind that quietly sneaks up on you and suddenly consumes everything. They weren’t looking for love, but love clearly had other plans.

What made this story unforgettable for me wasn’t just the chemistry (which, by the way, was smoking) but the emotional layers underneath it. It was the way they truly saw each other. The small glances, the quiet support, the little things that screamed “I care about you” without needing to say a word.

This wasn’t just a romance, it was a journey. Through vulnerability, healing, honesty, and everything messy in between. And even in silence, their relationship spoke volumes. Every moment shared between them felt meaningful, raw, tender, and so real.

This book gave me all the feels: longing, angst, heart-fluttering moments, and that beautiful ache only the best second-chance romances can give. I didn’t just read about Aiden and Emma, I felt them. And closing the book honestly felt like saying goodbye to two people I’d fallen in love with. 🩷

The Escape by Eve Riley is a MF romance and it is book 6 in the Techboys series. I was honored to read and review an ARC of this story. This was my third book by Eve Riley and I can say it won’t be my last. I look forward to catching up on books 1-3 in this series particularly.

The Escape follows the story of billionaire tech CEO, Aiden and attorney, Emma. Emma and Aiden’s paths crash in a Bangkok hostel but the story doesn’t end or start there. It’s safe to say Emma has had enough with her male colleagues and when she takes a break and crosses paths with Aiden, sparks and banter fly. Emma was a great female main character. She is strong and soft in all the right places and times. She helps Aiden come out of his comfort zone and he helps her redirect her life. The growth both of these characters have is top tier. I expect nothing less from Eve’s stories at this point. She always makes you feel like you are following your friend’s life with her books. Also, the one bed trope is my jam and this story has it!

I highly recommend The Escape. This story and the other Tech Boys books are all worth the read. Eve does a great job of building her characters and giving them growth. You will fall in love with each one.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is book six in the Tech Boys series! They can all be read as a standalone but I definitely recommend reading in order!

Aiden has just sold his tech company for three- billion dollars and is burned out on everything. Needing an Escape he books a trip to Thailand to get away.

Emma is a hot shot attorney from New York and has enough of everyone crap. She’s being pushed out of her firm and has the most annoying boyfriend ever. Finally set on taking a well overdue vacation Emma books herself a flight far to enjoy herself.

What starts off as a fling turns real quick into pure chemistry and connection that pulls them together. It’s a slow burn on love with lots of spice along the way.

I really enjoyed Aiden and Emma’s story! It is very well written and I think the pacing is perfectly done. I am a big fan of this series overall and this one is a great addition to the Tech Boys.
I love how much of a baddy Emma is but also diving into how chaotic and emotional draining her career can be. She is so relatable with her emotions and struggle of work life balance.

Aiden is so sweet and stays true to himself even after the sale of his company. It is definitely top notch book bf material.

I will never stop recommending the Tech Boys!!!

I really enjoyed this book. This series follows several different couples all tied to the tech world in one way or another. This book follows Aiden. He is a quirky and akward computer guy. He has an intriguing backstory. He was adopted from Romania and that does play a part in the story but it’s more of a side bit regarding him. He has recently sold his company and is at a lost on what to do from there He decides to take a trip to Thailand. We also have our female character Emma. She is a lawyer. She is the smart, confident, and very successful. She has worked her tail off to get to we’re she is but she is also being treated poorly in her professional life as well as her personal life. She has a vacation planned to Thailand which is where she meets our guy Aiden. They have and instant connection and at first it’s all about having fun but as the story goes on you see more between the two. I like that both of the characters were older and navigated their situations on a more mature level. Eve does a great job at developing her characters and giving you a story that not only keeps your attention but is written with ease. It’s not hard to follow along. I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us.

This book has the perfect title. It was indeed an escape. The Escape is part of the Tech Boy series that can be read as a stand-alone. This is Aiden and Emma’s story. Aiden is a socially awkward former owner of a successful high-tech company. After selling his company, he was left trying figure out what to do next. Emma is a successful lawyer from New York who worked for a firm that was out to get her. Both needed space to not only take a break but to gain perspective on their lives. It was a chance meeting in Thailand that changed their lives.

Eve has the gift of writing characters that the reader instantly becomes invested in. These two were no different. My heart went out to Aiden and Emma and the challenges they were facing in their individual lives. I was so glad when they found each other. Their story was written at the perfect pace. Their communication and the way they worked out their problems was refreshing to read. This was an emotional story that had me routing for these two. I loved going on this journey with them.

If you’d like an escape do yourself a favor and get The Escape. You won’t regret it.

*immediately looks into booking flight to Thailand*

You know when you are reading a book and you have to stop for a second, close the cover and take a deep breath?
Yeah. That’s this book.
And it’s not for the shock of something absurdly crazy. It’s for the relationship building, a little bit of the blushing {is it getting hot in here?} and for the story that makes your heart beat a little faster.
I loved that this book, which is the 6th in the Tech Boy Series, and that the characters are more relatable to myself in age. It’s not that often you find a storyline with characters in their 40’s that isn’t all cheese. I could feel the life behind them and the life in front of them.

I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Aiden and Emma. I was hooked from the very first paragraph to the very last one. If you haven’t read any of the Tech Boy Series {you are sorely missing out!} you can start with this one as it can be a stand alone. But, I’d HIGHLY recommend getting your hands on ALL of them!

Eve, you did it again!
Thank you for gifting me a copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Escape by Eve M Riley is the sixth book in the Techboys series and it was such a good read!

Aiden is focused, yet at a bit of a loss, major life changes in the work sphere altering his drive, his goals, and what he actually can do with his time. He's layered, calm in a crisis, and always gives what he believes in his all.

Emma is driven, talented, feisty, experiencing some drama at work, and really taking the time to properly think about what she wants out of life, what she deserves, and calculating if the risks are worth it, and realizing the importance of putting herself first.

They're surrounded by supportive family, have interesting foils in the workplace, and we also get to read some familiar names in the background.

Gosh but this was a beautiful story about people who feel they don't fit in, and then them finding their perfect space. It was really touching, and relatable, and made me feel seen too. This story was an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey, and I enjoyed every moment of it! I adored this addition to this world, and am going to have to dive back in immediately!
