I wasn’t one to brag, but I was an exceptional guard to a mafia boss.

Being the only one who could calm a situation down when it was about to go off the rails, I prided myself on not letting my emotions get in the way. Then there were my pretty vials of dangerous liquids. I had many skills.

When Forest Weathers came to town, I couldn’t tell which way was up. He drew me in like no one else.

My nightly hall pacing entered a new level. There was no relaxing my mind when it was full of thoughts of a man who didn’t desire me.

Forest was only attracted to women.

Or so I thought.

Suddenly, my emotions were right at the surface. The man I wanted said he’d be mine.

Of course, that joy couldn’t last long. In East Dremest, every day was a new adventure. What I didn’t consider was someone making me their target… as well as Forest.

Whoever thought they could touch who belonged to me was in for a very bad time. I wouldn’t stop until I found and put an end to them.

Threatening Forest was a terrible mistake. It was my job to protect him no matter the cost.

I hoped the person responsible for those notes was ready for pain. They’d pay for what they had done.

Sheldon is an MM steamy contemporary romance and book six in the East Dremest Mafia series. It features a man who takes pining to a new level and another who can’t stop thinking about a certain dangerous mafia guard. There is a possessive hero, found family, first times, and intense emotions.

Okay I can never go wrong with this author and her books. I was ready for Sheldon’s & Forest and let me say it did not disappoint at all. I so glad that Sheldon found someone who made him happy and heal like Forest did. Can’t believe that betrayal like that against them but I’m glad that Sheldon got his revenge. Such a great book!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sheldon is an intense, emotionally charged MM mafia romance that leans hard into pining, possessiveness, and found family—with razor-sharp stakes to match.

Sheldon is a fascinating lead: hyper-competent, controlled, and quietly lethal, yet utterly undone by his feelings for Forest. His inner turmoil is written so vividly that the longing almost hurts. The unrequited attraction, the careful restraint, the way his emotions threaten to break through the armor he’s spent years perfecting—it all makes his POV incredibly compelling.

Forest is the perfect counterbalance. What begins as perceived distance and incompatibility slowly unravels into something far more tender and explosive. The realization that Sheldon might actually be wanted hits with real emotional payoff, especially after all the tension and self-denial that comes before it.

The mafia setting raises the stakes in a meaningful way. Danger isn’t just background noise—it directly threatens the relationship, forcing Sheldon into full protector mode. His possessiveness feels earned, not performative, rooted in fear, loyalty, and love rather than ego. When Forest becomes a target, the story shifts into something darker and more urgent, and Sheldon’s devotion turns fierce and terrifying in the best way.

Michelle Dare does not shy away from violence or emotional intensity, and the content warnings are there for a reason. That said, the darkness serves the story, deepening the bond between the characters and reinforcing the found-family theme that runs through the series.

If you love MM mafia romance, extreme pining, possessive protectors, first-time realizations, and high emotional stakes, Sheldon delivers all of it with force. This is a story about control breaking, love claiming space, and what happens when the most dangerous man in the room decides someone is his—and worth any cost to protect.

Sheldon by Michelle Dare is the 6th book in her East Dremest Mafia series. I suggest that you read the others first to learn about the mafia world she has created and the characters in it as they also appear in this story. This one is about a guard for the mafia boss, how he falls for the brother of one of that man’s partners, and how they try to build a life together with chaos and death around them. Sheldon Copeland is one of the top and most trusted guards of Jordan Altier, the mafia boss of East Dremest. His specialty is using poisons and he’s also good at using a knife or a gun as he does his work. He had a rough childhood in that his father constantly abused him and his mother through beatings and eventually his mother died which had lasting effects. The one bright spot was his friendship with Oleander and how his mother and father took him when whenever he needed them. Oleander’s mother, Colleen, considered herself a witch and a psychic and often told the boys when they needed to do to protect themselves. Both of them worked for the mafia boss and lived in his high security building. Jordan had two partners and one was Hartley Weathers. He also had a hard upbringing and when his father died and left debt, he did all he could to turn his life around. His brother, Forest, couldn’t cope and left but later returned and tried to make up what he did so they became close again. When Forest returned, he had an instant attraction to Sheldon who felt the same way but he had never been with a man before. They tiptoed around each other for a long time with Sheldon getting shot and Forest feeling very guilty for not being there for him as he was working all the time and then he didn’t know how to fix it and Sheldon wonders what he did that he didn’t come around. The other guards and their families start pushing them together and they finally talk. Forest quit his job and started working for Jordan’s son JJ at an auto shop in the office and Sheldon insists he has a guard. They say they are both interested in each other but Forest is scared because he doesn’t know what to do with a man. Sheldon reassures him that they can go at his pace. He takes him to meet Oleander’s parents and his mother says they are a good match, which leads to a kiss and then a hot love scene. They keep telling each other they are the only one they want and Sheldon will do anything for Forest, including killing anyone who touches him. Things are starting to go well until a box is found at Jordan’s building with a note that says Sheldon took someone him and now he is going to take Forest away from him. The story continues as Sheldon, Jordan, and the rest of the people that work for him get involved in trying to find out who sent the note. Sheldon has to keep Forest safe and is going crazy because of this, but Forest is there and calms him and they have more hot love scenes which end up with them saying they love each other. When things come to a head and Forest is kidnapped, everyone works to figure out who is behind it and go to rescue him in a very scary scene with some gruesome effects. Luckily Sheldon is able to get to Forest and save him although something happens to him when he does. In the end they know they are the only ones each other wants and they get engaged and are ready to start their lives together, knowing the world they live in is not always kind but it is a family that will be there to protect them. I really enjoyed this story as I have the others in the series. This is a dark mafia world, yet Jordan only has people who have done bad things killed and Sheldon often does it. Both men had a huge attraction to each other but were afraid to act on it because Sheldon doesn’t feel he’s good enough for Forest and Forest is scared of being with a man and also worried that something could happen to Sheldon. Once they get together, they see they are meant to be and will do everything they can to protect each other. When Forest is kidnapped Sheldon goes after him because he can’t let anything happen to him. You are on the edge of your seat as they find out where he is and finally rescue him. Jordan, the guards, and Oleander’s family, especially his quirky witch mother, play a big part in the story as they work and protect each other. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like mafia stories, two men who fight their attraction but finally see the light, lots of action and suspense, and how they finally are able to be together and in love.

SHELDON
By Michelle Dare
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I received an E-book ARC edition of this novel in exchange for an honest review. It Is available NOW on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited!
www.amazon.com/B0FG3D9M43

This is a 262-page Fast Paced, Bi-Awakening, Extreme Pining, Found Family, Witchy Spirits, Mature Age-Gap MM Romance. This is the sixth book in the East Dremest Mafia series that is best enjoyed if read in order.

Written in dual 1st person POV with short chapters, this novel starts 26 years in the past to give a little insight into the mysterious Sheldon. Yes, we know he likes his poisons and syringes and that he roams the hallways and sometimes the airducts at night. But why is he like this and how did he end up on Jordan’s protective detail with Ollie? Forest as we know was thrust into this lifestyle because his brother Hartley is one of Jordan’s partners, but he stays on the outskirts, not wanting to get involved.

Their story is hinted in previous additions to the series. Sheldon has been obsessively pining for Forest ever since he appeared. What we didn’t know was that the feeling is mutual but neither of them think they deserve the happiness they could have as well as other fears. But what’s a found family environment without some meddling from the rest of the mafia. They both have a past that they work through together to have a better future, until Sheldon’s career comes back to haunt them all including a very Left Field Plot Twist that made me gasp!

The spice was what you would expect, especially if you read the other novels in the series. However, it is a slow-burn scenario on Forest’s part. His awakening is full of jitters that Sheldon is very patient with. He cares for Forest hard and is overly protective of what is his, and rightly so with the career he is in.

The Ensemble just keeps growing, but what do you expect for a Series of 6 books and a Universe that’s 13 books long. You never know when characters are going to make cameos or will reappear for an extended stay for the plot. This time around JJ and his mechanics team show up. JJ has a big part in the Universe since he is Jordan’s son, and the mechanics have their own short story. The new characters that have been introduced are Ollie’s parents/Sheldon’s surrogate parents. The mother, Colleen, is a witch that connects with spirits. She is an awesome addition to this world even though her presents kind of came out of right field and should fit. But it works and explains a lot about how and why Sheldon and Ollie are the way they are. As always, new guards are introduced or one mentioned have been promoted which always brings new layered personalities to an already crowded building, bringing Jordan to losing his mind a bit more every time in a humorous way. All characters from the previous 5 mafia novels make appearances with a small hint to what book 7 will bring.

Since these two have been hinted and their characterization has been laid out in previous books, this novel doesn’t dwell and presents with no filler content. She just builds on to what we already know. However, I do think this book went too fast. Sheldon is such a complex character. I feel like extra time could have been needed to flesh out his story a little more. Forest isn’t as complicated, but his history affected not only him but his brother and could have been used to bring Hartley into the fold more. I think in this case, the speed to the plot should have matched the speed of the spice. Michelle Dare’s formatting still works, it just needed to slow down to give us time to meditate with our characters more. I still enjoyed it. The mystery and danger she brings to the table every time is always edge of your seat fun. And I really respect how she writes so deeply but still crafts humor to slide in, which we will definitely need in Ollie’s story that is coming next.

💜Happy Reading🫶

(I received an ARC for this book)

While this book is an interconnected standalone, the previous books are in many ways connected and recommended reading!

Trigger Warnings include:
descriptive violence, torture, death, abuse, assault, suicide, a possessive main character, off-page death of a parent, and off-page child abuse

I wish I could truly put into words how much I love getting to spend more time with this found family. All these books in, and I still can’t get enough of them! At this point, I just expect to be so attached to everyone, that I know I’ll suffer in some way. Sheldon is the resident “potions” master. The deadly kind in vials. He’s the one to fear, the one to avoid. But in reality, he is so gentle and soft, squishy. (Don’t tell him I said that.) Forest is the “newbie”. The one that everyone adores and readily appreciates and protects. Everyone is on the verge of knocking their heads together. That was a committee I was ready to join! But, they did it on their own terms. And then they were full force, truly a force to be reckoned with! The raw emotions, the vulnerability. Truly, beautiful. Another added love to this series was the author’s personal touches to Sheldon’s mother figure. And as always, getting to enjoy the big bad mafia boss completely soft and in love! (I’ll never tire of giggling at that!)

My Favorite Quotes:
• “This feels bigger.”
• “I could wreck you, and would love every second of it.”
• “I’m a second away from pulling you into my arms and never letting go.”
• “The honor is mine, being able to hold you like this.”
• “I feel like if I don’t get your bare skin against mine soon, I’m going to lose my mind.”
• “When I’m with you, I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”
• “Everything. You have every part of me. I’m wholly yours.”
• “What a gift it is to be the one you lay yourself bare with.”
• “F!ck me. Own me like I do you.”
• “You make the entire world fall away.”

Sheldon is book 6 in the East Dremest series and a character I've been intrigued by since book 1. Maybe because of that anticipation, reading his and Forest's offering left a quite a bit to be desired. Over the previous books we're shown aspects of Sheldon's personality but when he's the subject a lot of that disappeared imo. The calm, cool, calculating Sheldon seemed to become like nearly every other member of Jordan's outfit and only cared about Forest and where he was and protecting him and treating him like a damsel (even before there was any danger). It seems as though as soon as one of the bodyguards gets their spotlight, the stories and behaviour all become the same. This formula of single minded focus so much so that people can't do their jobs or can't function anymore is getting tired in the series.

It also doesn't help that Forest is supposedly a man knocking on the door of 50 and behaved like he'd not experienced any life or responsibility and was quick to abdicate things to Sheldon (or Hartley or Jordan). That fainting stuff was... something. Forest didn't read like a 50 year old man to me. Not even a 35 year old! It was unfortunate. I love when books have more mature protagonists because I expect them to be MATURE. Forest could've been 25 for how he's been written here. The "mystery" of who was targeting Sheldon wasn't much of one and was obvious who was involved. The fact that Jordan's bodyguards all can't do their jobs and become codependent losers after they fall in love is ridiculous. And for a supposed mafia organisation, they can't ever put two and two together 😂. Incompetence for plot I guess.

Some things I did like were the moments between Sheldon and Oleander. I liked the look back at who they were for each other and how Ollie and his parents are so important and caring for Sheldon. I also liked the moments with Ollie's mom. I thought Dare gave her just the right balance without taking it too far with her abilities. I enjoyed that there was little Lane in this book as well. I was worried because I truly didn't enjoy him in the previous book. Unfortunately, looking forward, I'm concerned about Oleander's book. I was so excited to get to know both Sheldon and Oleander. Sheldon's book didn't feel in line with what came before and felt so different. It definitely dampens my excitement for Ollie's book. It's set up for Oleander and Sylvan so I guess Ollie is moving out to that safe house he's hold up in. Anyway, this was disappointing and just an OK read for me.

Independent reviewer for GRR, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 6 of the East Dremest Mafia series. For the most part, I stand by saying that you don't NEED to read books one through five before this one. Forest says something here that makes me really REALLY want to go back and read books one to three, though!

Sheldon and Forest have danced around each other for a long time. Sheldon getting injured bought to the front, for Forest how he felt about Sheldon, how he felt about MAN, something he never did before. It takes someone threatening Forest, for them both to finally admit what they want: each other.

What I loved most about this, was the slow burn. While both man had feelings for each other, it took time for them to fully act on it. It took time for them to SPEAK about their feelings, and it took no time at all, for them to use the L word. I loved that!

It has, as all these books do, on page violence. Sheldon is a Mafia bodyguard, slash poison expert after all. Still not quite sure what Forest was doing before he came back to East Dremest though! The violence is needed, I think, to give you the bigger picture of how these men live.

Emotional, very. Sheldon suffered badly at the hands of his father, but I loved, LOVED Oleander, Sheldon's best friend, and his parents looked after him, and that Sheldon really considered them his family. Forest, too, suffered as a child, but differently. What I loved about these men and their emotions is, that for the most part, they were shut down. Things popped up from time to time, and you got a better picture of what's going on in each man's head.

Loved that we caught up with JJ (from Three Hearts On The Line, book 2 in the Three Ties series, which this series is a spin off) Loved his banter with Sheldon!

Loved this book as much as book 5, so . . .

5 full and shiny stars

If you MM romance mixed with a bit of danger, then this book is for you! I have read this book in a few days and oh my God, it was a page turner! You will not want to put this book down for anything until you read to the end. I have loved this series and reading about Jordan's guards. This one was really adorable but it has some danger in it and spicy scenes.

Sheldon is one of Jordan's guards that did not have a great childhood growing up. He spent most of his time at his best friend's house, who is also a guard for Jordan. All he wants is to be loved by a man he has been crushing for since that man arrived in Hartley's life again. But being a guard for the head mafia boss has its challenges. Especially, when he is his top guard that loves poisoning people with his concoctions. When Forest enters his life, his mind is all over the place and all he wants is to have this man be his and his only. But he is unsure if this man will want him even if he is the mafia boss's security guard

Forest is Hartley's brother and lives in the apartment above Hartley's studio. He travels for work but is ready to stay in one place for good. He's only dated women until a certain security guard catches his eye. He has never felt this way towards a man before and is not sure what to do. Enter his brother who is trying to be the matchmaker and push Forest towards Sheldon. Feelings develop and he realizes that Sheldon is the only one he wants, even if he has a closet full of poisons.

Two men, two hearts, one love. Their relationship is an intense one but also adorable when you see Sheldon's soft side and how he loves Forest that he will do anything for him, including hurting himself in the process.

Overall, this was a great book and I am so ready to read the next in the series!

I knew it. I just knew I would fall in love with Sheldon and Forest just like I did with the rest of guys.

Oh my poor Sheldon. He really had a crappy childhood. I’m glad he had Ollie and his family to make up for the lack of love from his own. They really made a difference in his life when everything was falling apart for him.

I love their friendship and how they always took care of each other.

Sheldon was the king of calm and collected until he met Forest. His brain simply short circuited whenever he was around him.

Forest too, couldn’t understand his attraction to Sheldon, especially when he had never been attracted to another man. But there was something about Sheldon that he couldn’t understand.

My heart broke for both of them when they spoke about their feelings for each other. Forest didn’t think he deserved Sheldon and Sheldon didn’t think he had a chance with Forest.

The pining was real, y’all! I felt like I was watching a kdrama when they touched each other for the first time 🤭 Don’t worry it’s doesn’t happen in episode 8🤣🤣🤣

But seriously though, their relationship was so beautifully written. It was such a beautiful build up for them to get together that you don’t even notice it.

You see them get to know each other in a different intimate way. It wasn’t just sexual, it was more about them learning their souls more than just their bodies and I absolutely loved that.

Don’t get me wrong, the spice is off the charts but their connection was so much more meaningful to me. They really belonged together and it made my heart so happy.

They both had lost so much during their lives that it was time they found their own HEA.

I’m so addicted to these men. I hope there’s many more books to come because I can’t get enough of them.

Forrest & Sheldon
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌶️🌶️

Oh my heart, This was literally everything. I loved them so much.

I was so glad to be back in East Dremest again. To see all the fantastic, lovable characters and all the shenanigans and chaos they get up to.

Sheldon has been PINING for Forrest, he just wants him, he wants him to want him. Ugh, my heart. Sheldon is pretty sure he is very straight.

Forrest has no idea what to do with his attraction to Sheldon… so he stays away… ugh.

When these two finally give in to each other and admit their feelings, it was incredible. Full steam ahead. I love the “when you know, you know” vibes. Mature grown men know who and what they want.

Ugh the possessiveness of Sheldon was fire. The way Forrest gave in was fire. I love them so much.

“I could wreck you, Forest, and would love every second of it.”
“Do it.”

Honorable mention to Oleanders family 🥺 His mom, Colleen and dad Davis. They were amazing. They way they loved and supported those boys. But also, she is a witch, and calls to help give them guidance…. Yes please. Amazing, I loved her so much.

Of course, we have the fantastic East Dremest chaos and mystery and action that occurs. I love how they all work together, and we get to see all the boys together, and Jordan ever the grump, grumping about lol

I loved and ate up every second of this book. They were so sweet and spicy together.

“Tonight, Forest felt like the one thing tethering me to this earth.”

With the action and suspense, we also have incredible tender, sweet, vulnerable moments between these two men, also Oleander too. SO many of these strong, fearless men have been carrying around so much hurt and pain from their pasts. I love so much when they finally find a partner or partners and have peace in their life.

Phenomenal book. I love them so much. Forrest and Sheldon are perfect for each other.

I cannot wait for Oleander's book. Sheesh. It's going to be great.

So thankful for this arc

I was so much looking forward to Sheldon's story and it's finally here! Oh, the pining in this book... Well, not this book only. Sheldon's pining for Forest started the moment he first saw him, that was a couple of books back. Forest on the other hand was trying to understand all these new feelings towards Sheldon. He's never felt this way before. There's a fragile friendship and a slow burn that ends with an explosive chemistry and a beautiful HEA.
"Forest?"
"Yeah?"
"What would you say if I told you I wanted to be more than your friend?"

Their story is a whirlwind of emotions. And right when they finally decide to give in to each other, danger and threats come along because we are in East Dremest after all. I absolutely love Sheldon's sweet, possessive, deadly soul. And he has a closet full of poisons! Forest balances him. He makes him happy and he actually makes him smile!
“I don’t think you understand. I’m like one of those guys from that paranormal movie we watched the other night. We’re mating for life, beautiful. I’m never letting you go.”

This book has all the good ingredients that we came to love. A found Mafia family, banter, danger lurking at every corner, Jordan Sr., Albert, and a bit of magic (I LOVE Colleen, Oleander's mum). All you have to do is close your eyes and believe.

"Sheldon" is book 6 in the East Dremest Mafia series. It's better read in order, in my opinion, so you can enjoy it even more.
“I could wreck you, Forest, and would love every second of it.”

In two minds about this

I was looking forward to Sheldon's story very much but it wasn't what I expected. The enigmatic and very dangerous Sheldon we know and love was so completely besotted by Forest he almost changes his entire personality, and can't think about anything but Forest.
I have loved Sheldon as a character since we first met him, and finding out about his family history and his life-long friendship with Oleander put so much into perspective. I also love his closeness with Colleen and Davis, Oleander's parents.
We have an idea about Forest's history through his brother's and his uncle's stories but we don't learn much more here. He spends a lot of the time at first pining over Sheldon, then once they finally get together, they are all in instantly and are both obsessed with the other.
Not too many cameos in this one but I did love JJ's appearances. He and Sheldon were hilarious. Albert also graced the page so briefly, it was blink and you miss it, but he did manage to rile up Jordan with a few sentences and that made me laugh. Sheldon and Jordan were such good value too.
The danger and mystery was all a bit of a damp squib, to be honest, and didn't stand up to other dramas in the series.
Despite all that, I did like Sheldon and Forest as a couple and the epilogue was lovely. I just wanted a bit more of the poisoner and a bit less of the happy Sheldon.
Oleander is next and it looks like he's getting two men. I hoped it would just be him and Sylvan but apparently not.

I was able to get a copy of Sheldon for review and am so glad I did. First of all, this book is the sixth in the East Dremest series, a series which should be read in order. I have been looking forward to Sheldon's book for some time and it did not disappoint. Sheldon's childhood was not an easy one, and it explains how he became the man he is today. His routine helps keep him moving forward but the changes, from seeing his "brothers" find partners to trying to figure out his feelings for Forest, is starting to cause a few bumps in that much needed routine. Sheldon is not the only one to feel change in the air. Trying to improve his relationship with his brother, wondering what to do about his job which he really does not enjoy to his growing feelings for Sheldon are starting to cause more than a few sleepless nights. When an enemy from Sheldon's past shows up and Forest is threatened, the men realize that they need to grasp happiness while they can. The mystery surrounding the men's enemy is very intense and while I found it easy to figure out who the inside man was, it still kept me turning the page to see how everything would play out. Many of the men from previous books show up and Jordan had me laughing more than once. Even though each new book has me a little sad that the series may soon come to an end, at the same time I cannot wait to see what will happen to everyone next.

I have read this whole series, and every one is a page turner, keeping me engaged from the first page to the last. Getting Sheldon’s story is a treat. He is always so solemn and stoic, that to see him totally undone by Forrest made me smile — Forrest could open up the man beneath and let him feel without fear. Sheldon’s friendship with Oleander was a special one, bonded through time and trauma, I was glad to see them still friends after all the years together, and I adored Colleen and her sudden calls to the boys with hints that they followed, and the image of Sheldon on the floor of his secret room, on a pillow, meditating, just seems so out of character in some ways, yet fitting in others. He needs things in his life to keep him grounded and in control to do his job and intimidate those who need or deserve it.

The interwoven supporting characters illustrate the connections in this odd found family, you can feel the care and concern for each other beyond the job titles and descriptions, and all are an integral part of the story. I always have a feeling of satisfaction at the end of these books for where the main characters finish up at the end of their journey. I’m looking forward to the next story for Oleander to find his match — and more from mama Colleen. It should be another great addition to the East Dremest saga.

As someone who’s devoured every instalment of the East Dremest Mafia series, Sheldon’s book was one I’d been eagerly awaiting, and it absolutely delivered. Sheldon has always been such an intriguing presence in the background: calm when everyone else is losing their heads, all sharp instincts and dangerous vials, yet clearly nursing a heart that feels far too much. Getting to finally see inside that mind was a treat.

His pining for Forest is both intense and unexpectedly sweet. Forest’s arrival shakes Sheldon in a way nothing else ever has, and watching them both navigate an attraction neither of them expected, especially Forest which was incredibly satisfying. Their chemistry toes the line between tender and explosive, and the emotional depth between them gives this book a lovely balance of softness and heat.

Of course, this is East Dremest, so danger doesn’t stay away for long. The growing threat against Sheldon and Forest adds brilliant tension without overshadowing their relationship. And seeing the found-family dynamic with Jordan’s guards continue to expand is one of the things that keeps this series feeling so addictive.

A gripping, heartfelt, and spicy addition to the series—easily one of my favourites so far, and it’s left me more excited than ever for what’s next.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the East Dremest Mafia Series, which is set in the same universe as Three Ties Series and Ruined & Relinquished Series, you could possibly read this as a standalone series but you’ll get a lot more enjoyment if you do since there’s a few character crossovers between the series. I really enjoyed Sheldon & Forest’s story and I’m glad they finally got their sh*t together and got their happily ever after. I absolutely adore Ollie’s parents and how much love and care about Sheldon, he’s their son no matter who birthed him.

Like who would believe that they could target someone in Jordan’s organisation and get away with it, let alone someone Sheldon loves considering they know what he’s capable of, even if they weren’t in their right mind but still. I liked how JJ & Sheldon cleared the air and became on better terms, when Sheldon let his mask slip where Forest is concerned so JJ could see that he actually can show emotion, as Sheldon being completely calm the whole time freaked him the f*ck out. I’m really looking forward to reading Emeric, Oleander & Sylvan's story when it’s released, as well as reading more books from Michelle Dare in the future. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to others.

5++ stars

This is book six in the author’s East Dremest Mafia series and oh. My. GOSH!! This was so amazingly delicious!!! I bet I wasn’t even halfway through before I was already mentally tallying how much money I had left after Christmas shopping so I could check out the rest in the series. In fact, before I could even THINK about writing this review I had already logged into Amazon and was plotting my purchases.

There was NOTHING about this book I didn’t absolutely love but, with that said, I’m not a huge fan of polyamorous relationships, and definitely don’t seek ‘em out, so I was a little disappointed that Sheldon and Barrett were the only two books in the series that are strictly MM. I had been so looking forward to Lane and Raiden’s book after reading this one but, oh well, my imagination’s pretty durn good and Ms. Dare gave us plenty of inspiration!

But, back to Sheldon, I love him!!! Forest too, of course, but who would’ve ever guessed that a psychopath could be so dang sweet and sensitive??!!! Not to mention romantic! I’d’ve never guessed it was possible myself.

Anyway, anyone who enjoys mafia romances and doesn’t mind a side of psycho, has GOT to read this book!! At the risk of repeating myself, it was SO amazingly delicious!!!

Jordan Altair is the East Dremest Mafia Boss. And he takes it seriously. East Dremest has clean, safe streets and now that Jordan has his two lovers at his side, he has certainly eased up in some ways. Forest’s brother Harley is one of those men, so Jordan has allowed Forest space in their lives and an apartment above Harley’s design studio. But Jordan has also noticed that one of his best guards Sheldon has started spending a lot of time at Harley’s place of work.
Sheldon has been the peacekeeper of Jordan’s crew, the one that can not only calm Jordan but any tense situation they find themselves in. Not to mention Sheldon’s talent with poisons makes him a superb addition to Jordan’s crew. But lately Sheldon is air headed and distracted and not at all what Jordan needs. Sheldon can’t get his mind off Forest, a man who has only been with women. When Forest surprisingly agrees to date Sheldon, Sheldon’s stalker knows he has found Sheldon’s weakness, and he will do anything to destroy them both. Sheldon is a three hankie read, and unlike the first five Rast Dremest Mafia books, this one could be read as a standalone. Frankly why would you want to when the whole series will suck you right in.

🌶️

I feel like I’ve said this for several of the books in this series, The Ties That Bind series and the Ruined and Relinquished series…there are far too many characters to keep up with in these books since most of them are thropples! Thank goodness this one only has two MMC’s! These books have become Comfort reads for me at this point.

So this one is between Sheldon and Forest. Sheldon is the big Mafia boss Jordan’s guard and Forest’s brother and his best friend are both Jordan’s lovers. Sheldon finds himself completely Gaga over Forest the moment he is brought into the fold although he couldn’t bring himself to let Forest know. Forest is experiencing the same issue, especially once Sheldon was shot in the last book.

This book finds them finally figuring out exactly what they want and telling each other but shortly thereafter, as always 🙄 someone from Sheldon’s past comes to kill them both in the third act. Hey, at least there isn’t a third act breakup 🤷🏾‍♀️

The next in the series is with Sheldon’s best friend and fellow Mafia boss guard, Oleander and what do you know? He’s gonna be in another thropple 🤦🏾‍♀️ At this rate, this whole town is full of violent, gay, men with hearts of gold who have found their forever families.

Well, my prediction for this book was absolutely correct, it was brilliant. Sheldon was as complex as I hoped him to be and it was just fabulous to delve into his inner thoughts and emotions. He comes across as very black and white and I wasn’t sure how deep he would be, so was so happy to really get to know him. Similar for Forest really as I wasn’t sure of his deal but his insecurities were really honest and relatable. Although his insecurities were leading too much in his interactions with Sheldon and they both just needed an honest conversation.

I loved how full steam ahead they went once they both realised the depth of each other’s feelings. Sheldon is the ultimate protector of those he loves and you definitely don’t want to be on his bad side. There’s abit of danger as expected, it’s a good contrast to their relationship and brings in all the other characters that we love. Any time with an angry Jordan Altair Snr on the page is just brilliant, add in Albert and you’re in for a chuckle.

It was good to see Sheldon in his family environment, his relationship with Oleander is very special and with Oleanders parents. I loved how they embraced Forest . Colleen is very special.

There’s plenty of passion between these two once they’re both on board and although they take things at a slower pace to start they soon heat up the pages.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and as always looking forward to the next one in the series.

Michelle Dare has a knack for writing tough men with hidden soft sides for their loved ones.

This book focuses on Sheldon and Forests relationship, and a threat from an outsider. A steamy romance, that is fast paced with side action and drama with the mafia background, you're indeed in for a wild ride.

I found Sheldon to be quite intriguing, have read the previous books in the series, I was looking forward to learning more about his backstory and found family within the mafia. Forest on the other hand, I felt lacked depth... We meet him as well earlier in the series but apart from his feeling towards Sheldon, I didn't feel like I learnt anything new about the character.

That aside, I did enjoy the relationship pairing. And as always all the mafia men being around and involved in some way throughout. I love this huge universe Michelle Dare has created, and I can't wait for Oleanders story next!

I would recommend this story, if you like found family, troubled men, drama, and action with solid resolution! This author is good at creating drama without dragging it out!.

Sheldon has been interested in Forest ever since they had met but didn’t know how Forest felt so never said anything and neither did Forest. Sheldon is a guard for Jordan Sr who makes poisons he uses for Jordan Sr. Him and Oleander are best friends and has saved Sheldon a lot after his father beats him Sheldon stays at Oleander’s house. His father killed his mother when beating her so is now in prison and is seeing a therapist about everything that has happened. Forest has to travel a lot for his job which he hates so Hartley his brother convinces him to quit. Him and Sheldon start talking finally Forest gets the office manager job at Jordan Jr’s garage and likes what he does. Sheldon is getting threats on his life and that includes Forest, he has to do his job remotely until the person is caught. Sheldon gets packages when it looks like the building is invaded Forest is told that he was to be taken to a safe house. The person that took Forest was a surprise to me didn’t see that coming. Sheldon and the guards found where Forest was taken and the three were taken care of.

Sheldon and Forest have been teased all throughout this series. Forest is Harley's brother and Vails best friend, and Sheldon is one of Jordan's main guards. When these two meet they are immediately drawn to each other, but while Sheldon is ready to go all in, Forest fights it.

When neither men can take the tension and push and pull any longer, they finally give in to what they both want. But this is the mafia so danger is never far away. The men grow closer as they become targets of threats and stalking.

While I wouldn't necessarily say this book is a slow burn, it definitely takes a little longer to build up and progress through their relationship. But it's still a beautiful love story full of beautiful moments as these two were perfect for each other.

Such a great addition to this series and of course teases at future books.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

From the moment Forest turned up at Hartley's door I have been interested in knowing Hartley's big brother and with each book I have learnt a small amount about him. What has been consistent was Sheldon's pining of him, one of Jordan's bodyguards and lover of poison.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book I wanted to know everything I could about these two characters. This is a slow burn romance as Forest fights his feelings for Sheldon, but throw in death threats and this read intensified as both Forest and Sheldon's lives are in danger. I spent the whole book trying to guess who was behind it and I had to stop myself shouting out loud.
As we follow Sheldon and Forest, more is known about Oleander, Sheldon's best friend and I just loved Ollie's family and with everything going on Sheldon still took time to spend time with them, they were Sheldon's true family and it always feels better after a mom hug.
I am so there for this group of men and roll on the next in the series.

That was amazing 🤩.
Loved every moment of this book ❤️.
Sheldon had sooo many layers and walls 🧱 but forest was the one to break them down ⚒️with his support, love and understanding 💘, they both complete each other like a puzzle pieces fit together 🧩❤️.
It was impressive to see Sheldon lose his usual calm and become complete nervous Infront of forest 🫦.
The understanding and unconditional love that forest felt for Sheldon was everything 🥰.
When everyone was at Sheldon side in dangerous situation that was heart melting 🫠.
Colleen is the best protector everyone wishes for ❤️.
I feel kinda of sad for Jordan 😂, that guy's gards are going to be the end of him 😂😂, they are pushing him to his early grave 😂, but he loves all of them as if they were his sons 💞and that is just beautiful ❤️.
I can't wait for the next book 📚 , I neeeed it nowwwww 🔥🔥💗.

Not enough stars!!! I have been waiting for Sheldon's story in this series. Who better than to become the love of his life/person of his obsession than Forest. Sheldon has been a unique character throughout this whole series, and when he was stabbed in the previous book I remember my shock, it made my jaw drop. Forest has had his struggles and overcome them, he never expected to be attracted to a guy and it takes a while for the pair of them to get out of their own ways and work towards something very special. There's a twist, of course there is! I loved this story so much and I am getting to read quite a number of books by this author. I love how multiple characters, even from side series, get woven into the whole picture. Very clever. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I have been waiting for this book to come out. I have read the whole series so far and these two really need their story heard and wrote. I am so glad the author created their story.

Sheldon and Forest finally get their story and what a story it is. Sheldon never thought he would be happy and find the person for him and Forest never thought he would be attracted to a man let alone be happy.

When Sheldon learns of someone coming after him but trying to take Forest away, he will stop at nothing until he find out who is doing it.

Forest doesn't want to lose Sheldon after knowing that what is between them is real and that they both want to have a future.

Bring on the mafia and the protection it comes with because this story is just as good as the rest with everything that happens in it.

I received an ARC through GRR and this is my honest review.

Couldn’t put this book down
This is the sixth book in the series and I would say you get the best from the story if you’ve read the books in order you understand the relationships and the connections between all of the people involved in this book.
Sheldon, I absolutely adore him. Him and Forrest, it’s been painful at times but they are perfection together and I absolutely loved the way that Sheldon was so protective of Forrest. And on a sidenote I couldn’t help but smile every time he had banter with Jordan Senior. Everything about this book is good there was danger there was connection there was passion it had everything. I know I’m gonna read this series again because it is that good.

Sheldon completely pulled me in and didn’t let go. Sheldon is such a fascinating character—calm, dangerous, controlled… until Forest turns his world upside down. The pining in this book is intense in the best way, and watching Sheldon struggle with his feelings while trying to protect the man he loves was everything.

The romance is emotional, steamy, and full of tension, with a possessive hero who would burn the world down for his partner. Add in the mafia danger, found family vibes, and constant sense of threat, and I was hooked from start to finish.

Dark, emotional, and deeply satisfying—this might be one of my favorite books in the East Dremest Mafia series. Michelle Dare nailed it.
