An exciting western full of action and adventure. Reed Slocum’s cattle drive is nearly over—Sedalia, Missouri, is in sight. Relief settles in, mostly for Lee Hargrove, who has survived gunfights, ambushes, and a journey far more devastating than she’d expected. That’s behind them now, and all Reed wants to do is to sell his cattle, get a bath, and marry Lee. But trouble ambushes Reed on all sides. The town sheriff wants revenge for Reed killing his cousin in a gunfight. And Lee? She’s changed her mind. No wedding, not now. Instead, she insists on taking the next stagecoach back east–straight into danger. With killers on his trail, gunning for his money, his cattle, and his girl, every road leads to trouble. Reed Slocum is about to face the toughest fight of his life.

I’m already anxiously awaiting the next Slocum book. Mr. Dennis is a great western storyteller. I call his books rereads. If you like this book then try the rest of his books. Not a boring one in the bunch.
Very exciting read to the very end with a big surprise ending . Hope the next book is just as much of an adventure. Love the detail s about the various tribes in that area of our country.
