In this sizzling sequel to One Killer Night, a special effects artist and a hotshot chef put their shared past to the test to survive a stalker—and their feelings for each other.
It’s been two years since Evie and Chase clawed their way out of the real-life horror movie that would define most people. They’ve finally moved on.
Or so they thought.
Evie’s doing special effects for a new slasher film. Chase is preparing to open his own restaurant. But it’s not work that’s getting to them—it’s each other. While Chase still has his heart-eyed sights set on Evie, she’s got hers on the nearest exit. And she’s dreaming up the best comeback to whatever annoying thing he says next.
So what if he saved her life? She’s already kissed him more than enough times. They’re even now, right?
But when fate (or some nefarious plot) forces them into the same living quarters, things between Evie and Chase go from lukewarm to red hot. Trouble is, their romantic rendezvous aren’t as private as they think.
Someone’s watching. And if they don’t figure out who, their next brush with death could be their last.
Trilina Pucci, a #1 Amazon and USA TODAY Bestselling Author, is a connoisseur of pop culture and SANPELLEGRINO, but her true passion lies in crafting tantalizing romantic novels that delve into the depths of desire, emotion, and even hearty belly laughs.
When she's not penning steamy love stories, you'll find her indulging in Netflix marathons with her husband, Anthony (Residence is a fan fave), and their three not-so-little ones.

Before I start my review I want to thank Netgallery and author Trilina Pucci for giving me this opportunity to ARC read!
If the SCREAM was a slasher steamy sweet romcom book this would be it! Evil is forever is the second book to this series and it didnt dissapoint! This book features Chase and Evie, They are cutthroat sarcastical rivals, as the tension and love grows between them something even more sinister and dangerous awaits them.. a stalker always watching them with not so good intentions.
The tension was killing and steamy asf, The spice was great as well! Specially the ✨️ Dough making scene ✨️ The plot twists are insane that had me hooked and gagged for more! a Chef x Slasher movie maker was such a unique trope to me as well! And the humor was over the top! Totally recommend this book once it releases!
Once again I want to thank Netgallery and author Trilina Pucci for giving me this wonderful opportunity to ARC read! 🫶🏻
I love a down bad MMC and Chase may be one of the most down bad characters I’ve ever read. Two years after Evie & Chase experience what most people only see in slasher films, they think that they’re finally out of the woods. Evie went back to doing special effects for slasher films, and Chase went back to being in unrequited love with Evie. But the past isn’t as far away as it should be when a stalker arrives.
The balance between romance, suspense, and humor creates a novel that readers across genres will enjoy. One of my favorite aspects is the way slasher films are incorporated as it created a perfect visual in my had and further immersed me into the storyline.
Thank you Trilina Pucci, Montlake, and Netgalley for the ARC!
This is my first book from this author and I am HOOKED! I didn’t know what to expect with a horror romance (I’m a scaredy cat) but honestly really enjoyed the thriller vibes with my romance. I listened to this ALC without reading book 1 and I would suggest reading them in order as book 2 focuses a lot on what happened in book 1 and I think the plot twists would hit harder knowing that information. Both narrators brought this book to life in an immersive, refreshing way that had me absolutely hooked.
Evie, Goldie (sister), Noah (BIL) and Chase (one night stand from sister’s wedding that’s so into her it’s vomiting worthy (in a cute way)) all experienced a traumatic near death experience in book 1. Everyone is shipping Chase and Evie and our lovely FMC will have NONE OF IT. This lil spitfire passionate outspoken lady works in the Special FX department for B list movies so imagine stubborn creative hilariousness.
If you read Butcher & Blackbird or Lights Out and thought, I want the rom com energy with insanely funny banter but with some thriller/ horror stalker (not hot or from MMC) where the primary focus of the story is the romance then please!!! Pick this book up!
Add to your TBR if you like: - slasher rom-com - spice and suspense - golden retriever x black cat - banterrrrr - ‘yes chef’ 😏 - forced proximity - found family - pop culture references - he’s obsessed with her 🤭
4.5 If you loved One Killer Night then I promise you will love this book! It is a perfect sweet and steamy slasher rom-com that consists of thick tension and hilarious banter.
I absolutely loved this book, I knew that I would but it really did not disappoint. It follows Evie and Chase, who are absolutely hilarious together - Evie proclaims her hatred for Chase while Chase proclaims his love her Evie - let’s just say the tension is tensioning and the denial is denialing when they are forced to live together
While the tension and denial grows thick, it finally snaps leaving love to grow between them buttttttt both Evie and Chase start to face something more sinister and dangerous together….lets just say this has a shocking plot twist that left me SHOOK
This was honestly such a great book! I was hooked from the start and did not want to put it down. I loved Chase and Evie in the first book and I love them even more. Chase is a total sweetheart who knows what he wants and Evie is completely adorable with her ‘black cat’ personality. I love them both and I loved how their relationship progressed
The banter between them was hilarious and the chemistry was intense - they were SO HOT together. I loved this book and I definitely recommend reading it! Chefs kiss🧑🍳- literally
Evie and Chase have survived a killer but must now survive their next challenge: cohabitating, which might be difficult when Evie can’t stand chase. Forced into living together, their dynamic begins to shift… but someone is watching them, determined to finish what the previous killer couldn’t.
Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t entirely for me. I don’t think the writing style was my cup of tea, though I really appreciated the snarky banter and the mystery of who was terrorizing Evie and Chase. Wanting to figure out what was going on kept me turning the pages! Though this is a sequel and could potentially be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first book as it does explain some backstory that comes up throughout this sequel.
Overall, this is a fun, quick, steamy read with equal parts thrill and spice. Perfect if you’re in the mood for a fast-paced palate cleanser with strong “spicy thriller” energy.
Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Well friends, there’s a new Queen of twists you didn’t see coming, and that is Trilina Pucci. She did it in One Killer Night, and she’s done it again in Evil is Forever.
If you’re looking for a slasher-film type read, but add spice, look no Fuentes than this duology.
I adore Evie and Chase. She’s fiercely independent, sarcastic and sassy, and puts up with no one’s BS. And Chase? He’s a stan for her. He’s the definition of if he wanted to he would. They balance each other perfectly. Add in Noah and Goldie from book one and another epic plot twist, and you’ve got an excellent read.
-thriller romcom -enemies to lovers -black cat x golden retriever -amazing banter -secret relationship
yeah okay see these are the kinds of thrillers & suspense plots i LOVEEE!! dashed a bit in between a GREATTTLY built tension filled romance!! & this whole world trilina created in this duology just absolutely SUCKEDDD me in!!
I was obsessed with Chase and Evie and their dynamic when I first met them in One Killer Night and was so excited when Trilina announced they would be getting their own book. The two of them, along with Evie’s sister and Chase’s best friend, survived a horror story of their own and all trying to recover. After Hollywood invests in their story for a movie, the group moves out to Los Angeles to pursue new opportunities. Evie is working on special effects for a new movie and Chase is opening a new restaurant. And while Evie has tried to distance herself from the annoyance that is Chase, she finds herself stuck with him after his apartment floods and he’s forced to temporarily move in. And not only that, but it seems like the scary stuff has followed them to LA as well.
Oh man, this book was just as good as the first. I know I say this every time, but Trilina is truly a master at banter and her sense of humor is absolutely the same as mine. I loved Chase and how much of a simp he is for Evie while also being her protector. And Evie, as much as she fights it, finds herself slowly recognizing that her feelings towards Chase aren’t hate or annoyance, but love. Throw in pop culture references and amazing jabs and this one had me both in my feelings and cackling out lout, all while on the edge of my seat trying to find out who was the bad guy. If you like 90’s rom coms and slasher movies, I seriously cannot recommend this duet enough.
Yaaaaaassss! I love these bunch of weirdos! Chase was...dare I say chefs kiss? Evie was such a spitfire and the perfect match for him. All she needed was to be manipulated with his charm! I gotta say....Eddie was in my mind....so, ya got me!
Trilina told me this was up on NetGalley and I ran — literally no hesitation 😂
Evil Is Forever is the perfect mix of suspense, spice, and humor. Chase is quirky perfection, Evie gives total black cat energy, and the plot twists? Chef’s kiss.
Trilina Pucci has once again written a dark, thrilling, and totally addictive story that you won’t want to put down.
Holy hell Trilina. I didn't think I could love a sequel more than the first but I think Chase and Evie are my tops. This book was so funny but so crazy! I never saw the plot twists coming and the spice was spicing! Also the little, quiet things that transpired between these two was so cute. I mean, a man cooking me pasta and running me fancy baths will also steal my heart. I devoured this one in a couple of days and I couldn't put it down. I loved it so much and I cannot wait for this one to release its chaos into the world!
Evil is Forever is the sequel to One Killer Night by Trilina Pucci and it delivered! I’d describe this one as a combination of a rom-com and a slasher film with the perfect mix of suspense, humor and spice.
Evie and Chase were comedy gold in book 1 so I couldn’t wait for their story in book 2! Now two years after their real life horror movie experience, Evie and Chase are back! But this time, they both end up staying at Noah and Goldie’s while they are on their honeymoon. Evie is in town working on special effects for her next movie and Chase is opening a new restaurant. Chase has a crush on Evie and makes sure she knows it and Evie will throw out every insult she can to deter Chase. But while they are living together, Chase is determined to wear her down….
This was such a fun series to read! We’ve got enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, hysterical banter, a group txt with the “Hookers” and a stalker! What more could we ask for?! Just like One Killer Night, this storyline is so clever and it was filled with LOL moments and lots of interesting twists! I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this duology! (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫)
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read an eARC of Evil is Forever in exchange for my honest review.
This may be the elusive sequel that is even better than the original. If not better than at least the second part of a fantastic duology. I have loved every book of Trilina Pucci’s that I have read, this being the 6th. Her humor is simply sublime, pacing is perfect and romance is both swoon worthy and blush inducing. This particular book also makes my little pop culture loving heart swell with glee. If One Killer Night had 80s slasher vibes, this book is more 90s “Scream” inspired. Evie and Chase survived the massacre at the fake summer camp 2 years ago. He continues to desperately try to win her over while also preparing to open a new restaurant in LA. When his home suffers damage, he is forced to stay with her at Goldie and Noah’s house while they are on their honeymoon in Europe. Evie tries her darndest to avoid feeling anything but loathing for him, despite his goofy charm and otherworldly cooking skills. She is working as a special effects artist on a B grade vampire movie and trying to deal with her PTSD. Mayhem and super spicy fun ensue. The banter between Chase and Evie is so well written. Evie is always ready with the comeback you wish you had on the tip of your tongue, but I personally I never come up with until I’m driving home an hour later. The suspense is just right in that it hovers in the background without overshadowing the fun. That balance is so important. And then the conclusion and twist at the end deliver everything I was hoping for. It is honestly difficult to speak critically about a book when you love everything about it. So I won’t. I will only say that I have listened to the audiobooks of all of this author’s other books and perhaps the only way to improve on this book will be to listen to it performed out loud. thank you to New Galley and Trilina Pucci for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Trilina Pucci does it again! This is the kind of sequel that understands the assignment & then cranks the volume all the way up. It’s chaotic, flirty, tense, funny, & somehow still heartfelt - all while keeping you side-eyeing every shadow in the room.
Evie & Chase are absolute dynamite together. The banter is razor sharp, the denial is Olympic-level, & Chase’s unwavering devotion paired with Evie’s black-cat resistance is chef’s kiss. Watching him openly choose her while she insists she feels nothing (lies) is endlessly entertaining. The tension simmers, snaps, & then refuses to let go.
What really works here is the balance. The slasher elements keep you on edge, the twists actually surprise, & the humor never undercuts the stakes - it enhances them. You’re laughing one minute & suspicious of everyone the next. And yes, the spice hits (and hits HARD - chef's kiss Trilina!), but it’s the intimacy, caretaking, & emotional safety between them that really seals it. The way Evie's PTSD is handled is such a standout for me.
This book is self-aware in the best way. It leans into the absurdity, embraces the chaos, & still delivers real character growth & payoff. It’s fun without being shallow, scary without being heavy, & romantic without losing its bite.
🎧 Once again, I recommend listening to this one or doing a tandem read. The audio, performed in duet by Audrey Obeyn & Robert Hatchet, is absolutely incredible. It's like a slasher rom-com movie playing out in my ears. This book is sharp, sexy, & wildly entertaining. Trilina delivers again & I can't wait to see what she brings us next.
🔪 Slasher Rom-Com 🐈⬛ Black Cat x Golden Retriever 💕 Frenemies to Lovers ❣️ He Falls First & Hard 👨🍳 "Yes, Chef" 🤭 Banter on top of Banter ✌🏻 Dual POV in Duet Narration
After reading One Killer Night, I was chomping at the bit for this one. Chase was my favorite character in the first book but the banter between Chase and Evie is top tier. I loved them so much. This book starts off where the last one ended and it had me hooked from the beginning.
I loved that they were at each other’s throats from the beginning but loved even more that Chase loved her mean flirting with him. I love a man who loves a sarcastic, feisty woman. And as Evie said in this book multiple times, he is not a boy, he is a man!
The whole book was just so freaking good. The twists and turns were unpredictable. The who done it I never guessed and I loved that part. It definitely gave me Scream 2 vibes for sure.
The tension building was exquisite and I freaking will never be over her saying, “Yes, Chef.” First time I have read it in a book and I fear I will never be the same after. The spice was just the right amount too. The way that Trilina Pucci did it was seriously just right. I loved that they were each other’s safe spaces. Also, I was so giddy when Evie was possessive over Chase, this man who is was trying to fool her own self she wasn’t falling for.
Chase really did surprise me in this book, not in the sense of knowing his personality but getting to know more of it. She is a goofball who has no filter but he also has this different side of him that Evie gets to see because she finally opens her eyes to him
Thank you to Trilina Pucci and Montlake for this ARC through Netgally in exchange for an honest review.
Tropes: ✨Banter ✨“Yes, chef” ✨Enemies to lovers ✨Black cat x golden retriever ✨Dark romcom
One Killer Night and Evil Is Forever are the perfect books when you’re looking for an all around fun time. I didn’t even know slasher rom-com was a genre but now I’m obsessed. These books deliver amazing - well developed characters, tension and romance, laugh out loud comedy, a thrilling plot and suspense that will have you jumping at every corner.
Trilina Pucci might just be my new favorite author! Earlier this year I received an ARC of the first book in this series, One Killer Night. It is a slasher rom-com that transports you right back into the 90s and makes you feel like you are watching your favorite slasher film. Before I could even finish the book I was hoping and praying that we would get a second book with Evie and Chase. Sure enough Trilina Pucci delivered!!!
I loved Evie and Chase’s story. Their chemistry was top tier all of their interactions with one another were hysterical. I did start to get a teeny tiny bit annoyed with Evie after hating on Chase for so much of the book but was happy when she finally started to come around. I mean, seriously… Chase was hard not to love. Both their characters were incredibly well developed and their personalities leapt off the page. 10/10 experience!
If you are someone who is trying to get into audiobooks, this is a great series to start with! I haven’t had the chance to experience Evil Is Forever on audio as it’s not out yet but if it’s anything like One Killer Night I know it will be a good time. The first book’s audio was performed in duet narration with the one and only Grayson Owens - the king of sexy, creepy male voices.
Trilini you just flabbered my gasted. I have so much to say, but don't want to spoil 🤐 anything for anyone because Oops, she did it again. I said, for One Killer Night, that Trilina crafted the most intense spicy horror romance, packed with twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. She did, but she done did it again. 🧐 it clearly bares repeating. I read past my bedtime and now writing this review in a bit of a post book haze. The pace was perfect. Plenty of jump scare moments where you think this is it. Turn the page you chicken. Then oh eh gee this is it, flip, flip...Gah. I immediately wanted to message Trilina and be like, ma'am excuse me. I had a thought, but was like no, no she wouldn't do that. As for our main characters. The banter, the pop culture references, words that cut like a knife. I wish I was that witty with responses. Humour, nailed it. I love Chase, heart on his sleeve and ready to be there for Evie. CHEF. Doesn't fight fair, food, he just keeps feeding her soul. Evie, well she wears her disdain on her sleeve. Her denial is her shield. Once they come together it all snaps into place. I enjoyed their relationship growth, dislike...tolerate...friends...mine.
"Chase gave me the space to heal myself, but I saved me."
Enemies to Lovers Black Cat x Golden Retriever Classic Horror Tropes 🗡 Banter Spice 🖤 Pop Culture References
Thank you NetGalley and Trilina Pucci for the free eARC! I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you Trilina Pucci, Montlake and Netgalley for the ARC.
This book was pure chaotic fun and I mean that in the best possible way. Evil Is Forever somehow manages to be a slasher, a rom com, and a spicy romance all at once, and it works. If Scream decided to flirt, cook pasta, and make you laugh while also keeping you on edge, this would be it.
Chase and Evie absolutely stole the show for me. Their rivals to lovers dynamic is loaded with sharp banter, denial so thick you can feel it, and tension that crackles every time they share a page. Evie is pure black cat energy and Chase is golden retriever devotion wrapped in sarcasm and confidence. Watching him openly adore her while she insists she hates him was everything.
The spice absolutely delivered, yes that dough making scene deserves the hype, but what really got me were the quiet moments. The cooking, the caretaking, the way their relationship grows naturally in the middle of absolute chaos. It felt sweet without losing the edge. The plot twists genuinely surprised me and the slasher elements kept the story moving fast and wild. Camp Murder is a ridiculous, dangerous, hilarious setting and I was hooked from start to finish. This book does not take itself too seriously and that is exactly why it is so enjoyable.
If you love tension, humor, spice, and a little murder on the side, Evil Is Forever is such a good time. Fun, unhinged, and unexpectedly adorable. I devoured it and I am fully seated for whatever chaos comes next.
Evil is Forever is a brilliant follow-up to Trilina's Slasher-Romcom One Killer Night. This is a new couple on the run...I mean running away...I mean to fall in love with. Plus a new shocker of a twist!
First of all, Chase is a great book boyfriend, and the fact that Evie just does it for him in every single way makes him melt worthy. Evie's love language, at least for Chase, is mean flirting and it is the biggest turn on for him. It's truly adorable how everything about Evie does it for him. Literally, everything!! These two people are just meant to be together and it shows and grows with each chapter they are together.😍
Evie isn’t for everyone; she's tough, snarky, and eats men for breakfast. Okay, not literally, even though Chase would love it. 😂 He’s smitten with all her dark grinch-like attitude, but it's so cute because Chase says everything that filters through his brain too. Again, two peas in a pod and OMG....all the "Yes, Chef's." Soooo darn good.🔥
When odd things begin to happen and something evil seems to close in around them, who could be out to get them? Evil is Forever is a book filled with tons of snarky banter and a couple that falls for one another in spite of the odds while surrounded by another psychopath on the loose. I loved it!!!
Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for the advance review copy and all opinions are my own.
"I dont understand it...and I dont want to analyze it. But you're the only place I feel safe. You take it all away."- Evil Is Forever, (Book 2- To Die For Series) By Trilina Pucci
Duuuuuude Evie and Chase were EVERYTHING. This book and this duology again have been such a breath of fresh air. I feel like I flew through this book and now am so sad it's already over.
This is Chase and Evies story and I couldn't have been more stoked to read it. She hates him and is mean to him. 👀 He loves her and worships the ground she walks on.
Hes a chef. She's a special effects horror makeup artist. They both survived death together. You think that would bond them for life right right????
Evies a tough chick to crack, which im not gonna lie, is one of the things I love about her. She's a baddie for sure. But my man Chase is DETERMINED people. See, he has a plan. They are both in LA. Her for a movie, him to open up his new restaurant. His apartment gets flooded, he has to move in with her. Sooooo.....go Chase go Chase! Get your girl! I will ALWAYS root for this man.
I said it once and i will say it again. There is NOTHING like Trilina Pucci humor. Nothing. Her characters are top tier. I cackle laughed so many times my husband was concerned. I also was scared for my life so you have ALL the things in this book. 10 out of 10 sis! Thank you for this ARC. ABSOLUTELY EPIC! or ABSOLUTELY EVIL? 👀👀 muahahahaahaahaha
I didn’t know how she’d do it, but Trilina Pucci outdid herself, yet again! EIF was even better than OKN! I was excited to read Chase and Evie’s story! Chase falls for Evie hard and fast. The more she verbally spars with him, the more he falls for her. He loves the banter and loves when she “busts his chops.” Chase is a well-known chef and Evie is a special effects artist for horror movies. An odd pairing, to say the least, but they’re FANTASTIC together. One little sordid night at Goldie & Noah’s wedding that Evie tries to forget and Chase will NEVER forget. Chase tries to win her over from that point on but Evie isn’t “biting.” I love how Trilina Pucci adds an element of suspense to this novel, too, which kept me on the edge of my seat! Odd little events here and there that eventually compound into one HECK of an ending! And the PLOT twist?!? Sheesh! I “thought” I might have figured it out earlier on in the book, but I wasn’t prepared for it when it occurred! SO WELL WRITTEN! The spice is “chef’s kiss!” (See what I did there? 😏) I was yelling, “Yes, Chef!” aloud right along with Evie! 😜 I can’t wait to listen to this one in audio when it’s available. Yes, the story’s so good I want to read it again with my earballs. 🎧 You’ll want to add this one to the top of your TBR… So thankful for the opportunity to review from Net Galley!
ARC Review 📖 Evil is Forever Written by Trilina Pucci @authortrilinapucci
This book is a perfect balance of laugh out loud humor and strong horror vibes. I literally kept my guard up during this book solely based on how book one went. Luckily the comedic relief lightens up the mood from time to time.
The banter or we could also call it flirting between them is hilarious. He is so lost on her but she hates him. Well she likes to think that she hates him but every so often he gets past her wall of hate. He will not quit her and she just wishes he would quit being anywhere near her. He's obsessed and literally does all he can to talk to her or spend time with her. He even tells her how he feels in French and she has no idea! Swoon.
When forced proximity does magic Chase finally has his chance to show Evie that he is more than she thinks he is. I love that she resists him so much but as she gets to know him he surprises her at work every turn even if she has an inclination that he's doing all of it on purpose.
I love them together and when she finally gives into her feelings for him I'm giddy for them both. But I'm terrified for them too because man this book also gives me the heebie-jeebies with the slasher vibes intertwined with their addictive love story.
First of all this narration was FANTASTIC!! Audrey Obeyn & Robert Hatchet knocked this one out of the park!! They brought so much humor and emotion to this audio!! Perfect duo.
I absolutely loved one killer night & have been so excited for this book. It did not let me down!! This one was exactly what I needed. A hilarious, yet suspense filled slasher romance that was just perfection!!
This one follows Evie & Chase & from the beginning I am sucked in!! The tension was so strong and Evie was in such denial of the budding chemistry between them. Chase was just the sweetest MMC & Evie’s black cat energy was so strong.. When they are forced to live together, we see the tension & denial grow stronger until it finally breaks. Let me tell you, it’s so worth it!! This one had some deliciously steamy moments!!
Chase & Evie are facing some dangerous & truly wild situations and the suspense in this one just kept me on my toes. This one had a twist that left my head spinning!!
If you enjoyed Chase & Evie in book one, buckle up, because they are back with laugh out loud banter, so much hot tension, and just an overall amazing story that will take you for a ride. Do I recommend this one? Umm… “Yes, Chef!” 💋
Thank you NetGalley, brilliance publish, and Trilina for this knock out of the park production!!
Ok guys, I may or may not have finished this book at 1:30am because I could NOT put it down🤭 Thank you Trilina, a million times, THANK YOU for letting me read this early. I mean I didn’t just read it, I devoured it just a quickly as I did book 1 in this duology💖 Evil Is Forever gave me everything I hoped it would and I ATE up every single delicious banter filled chapter🙌🏻
My GOD! The tension and chemistry filled banter and spice between Chase and Evie was other worldly🔥 Then you casually throw in some Jane Austen references and a “yes chef” moment that has now dethroned EVERY SINGLE “F@ck IT” moment to ever ever exist 🥵. Seriously my new favorite trope!
If you haven’t started the To Die For duology, what are you waiting for?!!! You get 90s slasher vibes, the most amazing banter that leaves you kicking your legs, spice (OMG the spice 🤭), and plot twists that leave your jaw on the floor! Book 1 - One Killer Night is out in all formats (you want all of them), and book 2- Evil Is Forever will be released February 10th, but is available for preorder now. You are welcome💋
Congratulations Trilina on another 5⭐️ book! I need this in physical format and Audio ASAP💕
Books like these are the reason I'm hopelessly devoted to Trilina Pucci's books! I hung on to every word in this thrilling romantic suspense and couldn't put it down! Trilina manages to blend humor, witty banter, stalker/slasher, suspense, and sexy vibes all together and not only make it work, she slays it! This is a standalone. You don't need to read Book #1, but I recommend it not only because it was awesome, but also because this is where we get our first glimpse of Chase and Evie. You get more of their background story and how it all began.
Chase and Evie first appear in Book #1 (but they aren't the main characters) and their story continues and expands in this book. I knew I was going to love them. Their entertaining and witty banter and the sexual tension continue in this book, but this time, they are forced into close proximity with each other and unbeknownst to them, there's danger lurking. Let the roller coaster ride begin! I ran the gamut of emotions. I was on the edge of my seat from the suspense and twists and turns. The steam level is nuclear. The banter and push-and-pull are top-tier. I loved this book and its characters, and highly recommend reading it if you love a dark, suspenseful thriller with a heavy dose of humor and heat.
Evil Is Forever by Trilina Pucci proves that a sequel can absolutely hit just as hard—if not harder—than the first.
Evie and Chase are back, two years removed from the nightmare that should’ve been the end of their story. Spoiler: it wasn’t. She’s a special effects artist with trauma she can’t outrun. He’s a golden retriever MMC in chef form, still hopelessly devoted and very much down bad. The chemistry between them is immediate, sharp, and simmering with unresolved tension.
Forced proximity turns lukewarm feelings into full-blown heat, complete with delicious banter and spice that builds at just the right pace 🌶️🔥 But this isn’t just romance—it’s suspense done right. The sense of being watched, the unease, and the creeping danger kept me fully locked in.
And that twist? Completely unexpected. The kind that makes you pause, then keep reading because you need answers. The ending left me satisfied, emotionally full, and genuinely impressed.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, second-chance tension, protective MMCs, and FMCs who fight their feelings as hard as their fears, this sequel delivers in every way.
