I have endured my stalker for long enough.

I’ve read lots of fake dating romance books and I think I’m gonna need to hone my knowledge into reality.

And along comes Levi; a grumpy ass who doesn’t seem to like me very much, but offers me his spare room.

It doesn’t take many of our fake dates for me wishing for more with him, but from everything he tells me, I don’t think he wants that from me.

But what if we are meant to be?

DNF at 22% (chapter 6)

I really loved the first chapter of the book. Then it got a bit boring. I got as far as the main characters met for the first time, but I didn't feel anything at all between them. And it's a shame because the premise was really interesting.

Thank you Love Notes PR and the author for giving me this copy in exchange for my honest opinion of the book

This book had me hooked from the beginning. There were times I stayed up until 1am reading because I couldn’t put it down and had to force myself to. It got a little bit slower in the middle of the book but still an overall great book. Please check TW as this book does touch on some heavier topics.

If you're the author, please don't read this review!

I really wanted to like this book, but I just didn't. This reads like a Wattpad fanfiction. There were so many grammatical errors that it made me wonder if it was even edited. Or maybe it was before it got released, I don't know. But that made it hard to read. Also the whole stalker plotline was so unnecessary. If I had a stalker, I would've reported him to the police a long time ago, not find a random guy to fake date to "scare" my stalker away. There are so many better ways to write fake dating and this wasn't it. The dialogue in this book was insanely juvenile. These are not college students. They talk like they're still in high school. Elsie was an annoying character. She's constantly talking about how much she wants a "book boyfriend" and how Levi is such a "book boyfriend." It's repetitive and cringe. You could make a drinking game for this book where you take a shot every time Elsie says "book boyfriend." I also feel like a whole lot of nothing happened in this book. Just a few chapters of smut surrounded by a boring storyline. The characters were dull, the plot was poorly executed, and the smut was filled with the cringiest dirty talk I've ever read. Don't even get me started on the last minute plot twist. Talk about unnecessary fluff written just for the sake of adding another trope to the story, as if this book isn't chock full of tropes that are all poorly written. I'm sorry, but this really missed the mark. There's some potential in this but it needed to undergo a lot more editing. I know I compared this to Wattpad fanfiction, but the truth is, I've read fanfiction written better than this.

"your ability to grump is outstanding," i mutter as i roll my eyes.
"and your ability to get under my skin is outstanding," levi mutters under his breath.

~fake dating
~broken boy
~grumpy X sunshine

"i’ve read a lot of books about alpha guys who say they're damaged and become the man their woman deserves."

review💭
elsie and levi were so different but so perfect for each other! he’s grumpy and mysterious and she’s all sunshine and bubbly, together they fit so well, elsie really is what he needs to bring him out of his shell and show him that he is worthy of love and happiness despite his past. i love faking dating so seeing them have these fake dates but both slowly growing feelings and wanting the other was everything. whilst i hated why elsie wanted a fake boyfriend i’m so glad levi was there, he allowed elsie to grow and get back parts of her life that she had been forced to give up due to being scared of her stalker. i liked seeing levi open up, he was so closed off but being around elsie we got to see little parts of his personality which i loved so much. both of them have sad pasts and really deserve the happiness that they found with each other. i also really liked how got to see luke and aurie still so in love. this book was filled with so many sweet moments that’s melted my heart, it was also emotional.

"else, no guy who has the pleasure of having you, would ever want to give you up. you would be any guys' dream girlfriend."

thank you so much alexandria for allowing me to beta read for you, levi and elsie were so painful but so beautiful to read about.

I really enjoyed Sunshine Wishes! From the first page I didn’t want to stop reading! This story is about Elsie who is a college student, loves romance books and is dealing with a stalker. Then there is Levi who is this broody, grumpy, tall tatted up guy that might be the perfect guy to help a girl out with a stalker. Elsie and Levi were both likable and relatable in their own ways. The chemistry and banter between the two of was good. Along with the funny moments they have, there were some emotional moments they have too.

I found the pace of the story to be good. It didn’t feel like anything was rush or that things were moving super slow. It felt realistic. There are steamy scenes in the story. Those were well written. They weren’t over the top or over took the whole story. Which why the amount of steamy scenes was in here was good. Another good thing about this book was the secondary characters. Elsie and Levi best friend’s that are dating each other. ( who have their own book call “Butterfly Kisses), and Elsie friend’s . They were funny and add to the story.

Overall, Sunshine Wishes is a good fake college romance. The main characters are great. The pace is good. The secondary characters are good. From the moment you start reading the book you are draw into the story and won’t be able to put it down till the end.

If you are in the mood for a contemporary new age romance, then Sunshine Wishes is for you.

Set at a University, Elsie is a girl after our own hearts with an affinity for romance novels. She is frightened by a man from her past. When her friends suggest fake dating to scare him off, she is reluctant. However, when she needs saving, Levi is there in a nanosecond.

Liam is every girls dream: tall, brooding, and tatted (oh and he rocks a mean grey sweatpant). Although he doesn’t think he’s relationship material, he shows that he is in spades.

These two may start out as fake but they are anything but. With tropes of forced proximity and fake dating, you will be along for a wild ride.

Be sure to check the trigger warnings before you read. This book touches on some heavy themes.

This book revolves around fake dating which started accidentally by a text message. The story is set up somewhere in between college fake dating which I thoroughly enjoyed ✨🤌🏻💛 Characters were to die for - Grumpy X sunshine (My favourite trope tbh )

*4.5

This was really cute. A bit spicier than I expected but I loved it. Levi had been through os much in life and had no idea how to open up. It was a journey but he made it through and found someone who he can be open with. He was also such a fierce protector of Elsie and I loved to see it.

I received an arc from love notes pr.

Poor Elsie and her expectations of what a boyfriend should from her romance books (don’t we all have expectations though?). Levi doesn’t stand.a chance staying grumpy around Elsie. Don’t let Levi’s hard shell scare you away though. He’s there for Elsie however she may need him to be, whether it is in or out of the apartment they share together.

Very cutesy college romance with a stalker aspect I didn’t expect honestly! The small friend group that Elsie has found in college is the perfect mix of people and how you can really find your family in a random part of your life. This was a perfect example of how I picture myself finding a book boyfriend 😂

I didn't really get warm with the female main protagonist, so it basically was a lost battle from the start for me.
While the story had some ups and downs, I found it okay, but not as good as other fake dating stories that I've read before.
I think it is a good book for a new author, but I hope her writing style evolves a bit more over time.

This book felt slow going to me for the first 20% of the book in terms of the overall story. Once she and Levi met it was way too “easy” for her to trust him having had a stalker for years. Even though the “fake dating” aspect is intentional and important to the story she was way too trusting too fast and that was kind of off putting for me considering why they were fake dating.

I really enjoyed Sunshine Wishes! The fake dating and roommate tropes were super cute, and Elsie and Levi’s personalities played off each other perfectly. The story has some heavier topics but handles them well, adding real depth. Definitely a solid romance with heart!
