I kept seeing this all over my fyp on tiktok so I decided to finally read it, and I’m glad I did!
I absolutely love short horror stories, and this contains 9!! Each one so unique and equally terrifying. I’m not even sure which I’d pick as a favourite as I loved them all, but if I had to pick, I’d choose the cabin or operation blackwater!
The story ‘ the upload ‘ was also so realistic and genuinely could happen in the future. It really shows how terrifying AI is!
This did absolutely nothing for me. I struggled to stay engaged, and instead of feeling eerie or unsettling, it just felt flat and frustrating. I kept waiting for it to come together or for something to truly grab me, but it never did.
Sometimes a book just isn’t for you, and this was one of those cases. I finished it, but only out of stubbornness.
A collection of fun short horror stories, several of which left me wanting more. A good mix of existential, creature, and body horror with a dash of paranormal thrown in.
The writing in this book is quite lazy and vague. I feel like the stories are more of the summary to a longer and better book rather than stand alone shorts. it was a disappointing read to say the least.
