Ok, it took me awhile to get through it because it dragged, was a little repetitive, boring and long. I think the story in general is dragging on too long while the romance is basically nonexistent compared to even the previous books in the series. I’ll read the next one but I find myself checking out and putting the book down frequently.
I feel like most of this book was unneeded dribble. Just constant unnecessary trials and sparring between guilds. Out of the entire book Thrall squad only achieved two things- acquiring the antidote to save the king (which STILL can’t be used) and Gaeliths evolvement. I’m not sure if I’ll continue to finish this series as it’s just dragging on and on and seems to be going the route of more books = more money for the author. Just tell the story already. As it stands now, after reading 4 books it seems we’re still in the same situation and going nowhere. It’s getting rather frustrating and boring imho. Y’all can probably skip this book and just wait for book 6 to drop.

Once again the author has given another emotional roller coaster ride with this read. Siergen, the dragon courier, whom I fell in love with in book1, shows just how much power he has. Hoo boy, does he! lol. With Hein & Kaeleth, a lot of stuff is answered, and they are now a couple. Learning about dragon mating was fascinating. Plus, there are new information we learn about the great dragon, as well as that she is going thru something which will affect her bond with Ashlyn. But, it is a slow and dangerous change, for the both of them. Hein is overprotective of the both of them, much to Zander’s delight and a bit of freak out. lol. They all realize that for them to get to the Fae Sanctuary, they will need Remy too. Zander really dislikes the guy, not only for what he did to Ashe, but because of a lot of other things we learn about in the book. Perin is still a problem, I seriously want to punch the guy in a few places…
Now that the Lowborns and Ashe’s flight have combined, they are under Zander’s command and there are more ambushes at various outposts, and there is devastation everywhere. Some are hit by the Blood Fae, some by the Crimson Sigil and some by the Varnari. Then things get more political as the King gets sicker, to the point that Kaelith puts him in stasis to get him to live long enough to find out what is wrong and find a cure. Things get extra weird because of Inderia (who I also want to punch) and Theron’s betrothed. Theron’s coming into more power causes a rupture between the fourth guild- the dragon riders. Some want to follow Dorian, as is proper, as he is the heir, while some wish to follow Theron.
There are so many mega revelations in the book. I love Kaelith and her snark with Ashe. I also love the snark between Ashe and her ‘brothers and sisters’ of her squad. There are more assassination attempts and this time it isn’t just on the king and Ashe. Theron just doesn’t have the brain power to be behind everything and shows that at one point in the book. At one point, a couple gets accused of treason and poisoning the king and they have to go on the run. The dragons pretty much tell off their riders and won’t do anything until there is a trial. I laughed sooooo hard at Theron’s reaction.
I want to yell at Dorian for not becoming Regent over Theron. It doesn’t make sense to me. Theron hates the dragons. Things are really becoming weird and not making much sense at some points. I loved everything that happened once they got to the Sanctuary. I also love when Zander & Ashe are together. I wanted to smack Remy a few times for the stunts he pulled…. I loved this book- it made me laugh, cry, giggle, and snort. It was romantic, steamy, and the fight scenes were awesome. I can’t wait for the next one.

Every time another book comes out in this series I jump on it and devour it so fast! I love that each one backtracks a little too so that you can remember where you left off and not feel like you have to read the whole thing over again to keep going. It's honestly so refreshing! Zander and Ashe are just so perfect for each other and I feel like they both know it, and yet they are both too preoccupied with saving the kingdom and their friends (*scoff* how could they?!) to focus on their relationship. This book touches on it a bit, but like before Remy likes to worm his way into the equation and shake things up. I have a niggling suspicion that he is far more involved in political gambits going around than he is letting on, and was hoping the betrayers would be outed more in this book since we have been waiting anxiously! But yet again the entire book does a little ping pong thing back and forth with trying to solve the mysteries without actually solving any of the mysteries. I'm ready for answers and conclusions to at least some of the big things going on. please?! Kaelith and her transformation was a good focal point and her bond with Ashe will definitely be a big factor in his things play out. I always enjoy reading these books and the friendships that seem so solid. The relationships we are rooting for, and the bad guys we want to see burnt to a crisp. However like I mentioned, I would love to see more closure on at least a couple things here and there each book. Especially when more questions are continuously coming into play. Where tf is Dorian?!?? I don't wanna wait. I want mooooooore!
A Court of Curses and Queens is a captivating and emotionally charged installment in The Forth Guild series. Tia Didmon delivers a richly layered fantasy romance filled with political intrigue, dangerous magic, and fierce characters who command the page.
The Blood Fae court is vividly imagined, with high stakes and an atmosphere thick with tension and ambition. The characters feel complex and driven, balancing strength, vulnerability, and ruthless determination. The romance is intense and deeply woven into the plot, enhancing the story without overshadowing the larger battle for power and survival. The pacing keeps the momentum strong, making this a true page-turner.
I’d highly recommend this book to readers who love dark fantasy romance, fae courts, and stories where curses, crowns, and destiny collide. If you enjoy immersive worlds, powerful queens, and romance set against epic stakes, this book delivers beautifully.

A Court of Curses and Queens is the fourth book in Didmon's The Fourth Guild series. It picks up where the third left off.
As always, there's a lot going on in this series. Some of the highlights include: -Kaelith starting her Shiftling transformation making her even more powerful than she once was. -Additional life-threatening trials for the riders -Zander being demoted and promoted -Zander being accused of treason -Learning more secrets about the mysterious Siergen -A temporary truce between the Varnari and the Crimson Sigil -Poisoning and murder -Theron declaring himself king -A trip to locate the Fae Sanctuary ... and more!
This series just keeps getting better and better. I am completely hooked and eager to read what comes next. A Court of Swords and Silver is expected in June, followed by A Court of Darkness and Dragons in September.
If you enjoy fantasy books with excellent world-building, battles between good and evil, power struggles, and of course dragons, I encourage you to check out this series. Be sure to start from the beginning though as each book builds on the last.
I love this series. The story starts where the last one ends. I love the dynamics of the characters. Each contributing to the wars they are facing. Yes, there is more than one war, more than one enemy to face. They get help from an unexpected source. Action packed with just a splash of humor here and there.( gotta love Tae) Love the chemistry between Ashe and Zander. I loved the secret revealed about her dragon Kaelith, and what enfolds after that. Excellent worldbuilding , suspense and twists I did not see coming. As with the previous stories POV of Ashe. There is also a few mysteries they solve or will solve in the next book. Can't wait for the next book to see what other chaos they can solve.

Wow. I couldn't even begin to cover what happens in this one. Kaelith is evolving and Ashlyn is also changing. You can believe that 'upper management' is so not ready for that. Ash, Zander, and Remy need to figure out where the Fae Sanctuary is on The Blood Isle and how to get into it without getting killed by either its wards or the Blood Fae. Whatever weapon it holds might be their only hope in the war that is already starting. Theron is being his usual douchy self, in fact, he is getting worse. He's no longer trying to hide his ambition or his hatred for Zander and Thrall Squad, or any squad except Iron Fang.
There are attacks, close calls, and heroism. There is also the ubiquitous cliff hanger... Always leave them wanting more! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A Court of Curses and Queens is a thrilling, action-packed fantasy that had me hooked from the first page. Ashe, Zander, Remy, and their squad face relentless attacks, deadly betrayals, and high-stakes political intrigue while uncovering secrets about dragons, magic, and ancient bloodlines. Kaelith’s evolution and Ashe’s growing powers add both awe and tension, making every battle and challenge feel intense. The romance between Ashe and Zander is steamy and heartfelt, with humor and squad camaraderie keeping things grounded. The story is full of surprises, cliffhangers, and moments that made me laugh, gasp, and cheer for the characters. I can’t wait to see what happens next, this series keeps getting better with every book.

Oh god. I’m normally a patient person until I read a book series and realize that I have to wait for the next one. I want you to know that currently I’m devastated. But I am also over the moon because a whole new can of chaos just opened in this book and it is a beautiful disaster. Also, these books make me wanna sleep in a Kevlar bulletproof vest. There are some beautiful bonds that have been made and it’s not just with Ash Itz with a bunch of them. I am truly loving the Group dynamics and seeing how people have changed and evolved. I truly love when a Book can do this – make me absolutely crazy. I have been unable to put this series down and it’s been magnificent. I’m trying to be patient.
Her bloodline is the final piece in the puzzle. Luckily her squad have become her family, or she would only have the dragons to back her up. Together, they're one step closer to freeing the king and the kingdom. But there are others out there trying to tear it all down, including those from within. And the whole squad is being targeted with murder attempts. But even enemies are helping in their own way. They've still got an uphill battle ahead of them to go as someone keeps trying to pin killings and treason on her and her new family.

A Court of Curses and Queens is book 4 of The Fourth Guild series. The world building is excellent the Blood Fae Court is high stakes full of tension and Fae that are ruthless and ambitious. You must watch your back or you just might find a knife in it. The romance enhances the story without taking it over. As always, Tia Didmon delivers an intensely layered plot filled with dangerous magic, political intrigue, a romance that is as intense and complex as the characters. I’d highly recommend this entire series and recommend you start with book 1 (A Court of Thralls and Thorns) and read them all.

This entire book could have been written in no more than 10 chapters. So much repetitive redundancy. How much longer will this be dragged out? Also how about ease of transition between chapters. In one chapter the characters are in one place and in the next chapter it takes a page and a half before you realize they are in a different location and a different day. I normally love reading and this book this series has me putting my books down more than I have in a long time. Also this series is a slow burn spicy not even close. Slow burn yes spicy not even close. Where is the description/details? When it gets to that one scene per book there is no heat in the scene. IMHO.
Book 4 of The Forth Guild series. Books should be read in series order for maximum enjoyment.
'Will Ashe rise above the chaos, or will an ancient dark power claim her?'

This series just keeps getting better and more complex with each installment. Ashe, Zander, their dragons, and the group of friends/family/teammates they have assembled are desperately trying to save not only their kingdom but the entire continent and realms and magic no one truly understands anymore. Fascinating storytelling and magnetic characters make these books impossible to put down.

This is an incredible series and a fantastic addition which has its hooks in you from book one! A complex read, that draws you in, it’s action filled with incredible world building that continues to enthral and a band of fantastic characters that are doing their best to save the kingdom. It’s an exciting and emotional read, there’s revelations and secrets are revealed and it’s a battle all the way up but we know this found family will defeat them all. Loved it!
This author uses such descriptive words that it allows you to visualize what you are reading. The Thrall squads have more trouble coming their way and Kaelith is changing. This book had me enthralled from beginning to end. At the end the Thrall squad was being framed for a murder they did not commit. Now we must wait for the next book to find out who did it.

4 1/2 stars The emotional roller coaster ride that comprised the world in this book was entertaining yet so very heart wrenching at times. I loved how everything was woven together to create a fully immersive experience. Their emotions felt real. The drama was intense. The story was captivating.

Last 2 books have no forward momentum. Same issues over and over. No new character growth. No new p!ot growth. Just more of the same. Last 2 books pointless. Think I'll just read the plot summery for book 5 to see if it goes Anywhere new. Storyline completely stalled out.Tons of repetition. Shame. Started out so well.
We have adventrure, suspense, danger and so much more. Can Ash, Zander, and Remy figure out whre the Sanctuary is? Can they get past the wards if they do? Will they ever free the king?.
