Two years have passed since Lady Emily’s beloved Maxwell went to fight in the war. With only letters and one hot night of loving to keep her warm on the coldest of nights, she tries to embrace the future after learning of his death at the Third battle of Picardy. One way to forge forward is to marry his twin brother, Marcellus Alexander Wynwood, The Marquis of Blackthorn, a man she does not love, but one who rouses dark needs in her.
Marcellus wanted Emily from the first moment he saw her two years ago, but had watched from a distance as his brother Max charmed her into falling hopelessly in love with him. In her state of grief over Max, Marcellus ensures her needs are met, breaking down her barriers, tormenting her with wicked erotic loving as he slowly binds her to him.
Despite this, he fears he will lose her once it is revealed that her beloved Maxwell lives. Marcellus prays Emily can surrender to his needs and soul deep desires.
I am an unapologetic romance lover. I read it. I write it. Enough said. Well..I also have a warrior way "Never give up on my dreams." I spend a copious amount of time drooling over Rick Grimes from Walking Dead, watching Japanese anime and playing video games with my love, Dusean.
The only person I love as much as you is Marcellus. Do not let his cold, gruff exterior fool you, my darling. He needs your warmth and gentleness to rescue him as you did me."
Thanks again, Ms. Stacy Reid for providing me a digital copy of this book. :)
Whoa. How can I say this? This novella is one helluvah hot and sexy read. *gasp* I very much had a great time reading this because who doesn't want some quick and easy read?
Letters to Emily is a story of a woman who had serious and deep intimate feelings for twin brothers. Sounds like a love triangle? Yes, that's exactly the mainstream of this novella. The only thing that makes it quite different is that both males basically cared and cherished her in an extraordinary way, to the point that they were willing to live with her for the rest of their lives, sharing her love without any demands other than being with her.
I applaud Ms. Stacy Reid for how she was able to elaborate and describe this challenging erotic tale. Though I admit some parts were quite disturbing (which was explained right at the very first page of the novel), the author's writing style made every sexy scene sounds mild and just totally manageable.
This novella, however, is not entirely just about erotic sex. There's more to it than that and it's the undeniable feelings the three of them have for each other. This novella also conveys the importance of trust and total commitment in a relationship that involves three people.
As a whole, Letters to Emily is a very well done novella. I love the characters and the overall storyline. It's an easy read and it's an emotionally driven and amazing tale. :)
Lady Emily Langford has a BIG problem with brothers, Maxwell & his twin Marcellus, the Marquis of Blackthorn. During the Season, she falls madly in love with Maxwell, accepts his proposal & then Maxwell introduces her to her first BIG O, as his twin watches from the doorway. Emily stares into his eyes & Marcellus awakens her SEXUAL KRAKEN, but she LOVES Maxwell & will await his return from war. Maxwell is reported dead & all she has left is her memories & his many letters, so she has finally decided to marry Marcellus because it was Maxwell's last wish for her. Soon Marcellus can't hold back his CRAVINGS for her & will not stop at nothing to have himself sheath inside her tight & wet passage until the end of time. Will Emily allowed her SEXUAL KRAKEN out for good? Can Marcellus get her to the altar with his dominant loving? Is Maxwell really dead? If Maxwell is alive, can Emily accept loving 2 men? Will jealousy destroy them all?
This is my 4th book by Ms. Reid & I must say that her writing gets better & STEAMIER with each of her romances. Now this book will make all my romance peeps CREAM IN THEIR UNDIES because it is explosive HAWT! I love a great dominant lover hero & Marcellus had me at his first "F" bomb & gave my girlie parts many EXCRUCIATING shivers & quivers! Poor Emily didn't know what to do with herself with LOVING one twin & CRAVING the other, but soon she just embraced her inner HO & let her SEXUAL KRAKEN loose. When I first discovered ménage romance, I couldn't get enough of them, but soon I got immune to the same old male sandwich. Now Ms. Reid pulled a Marcellus with me by awaking my dormant MÉNAGE KRAKEN & now I can't & don't want to put my KRAKEN back in hibernation! Another great element that Ms. Reid used was Maxwell's love letters & how they were a double edged sword with helping Emily, but also ripping her apart all over again! My only complaint with this NO AA BATTERIES REQUIRED romance was it was too short & I am BEGGING Ms. Reid to PRETTY PLEASE write many more chapters with Emily, Maxwell & Marcellus' story! I can't give Ms. Reid anything less than my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for this SNAP, CRACKLE & NUCLEAR MELTDOWN romance!

Letters to Emily was a fast-paced erotic novella, yet had a depth of emotion you usually cannot capture in so few pages. The reader does miss out on some character development, which makes a character feel 3-dimensional and real, in order to fit so much story in a novella. The love story develops fast, bordering on insta-love even with the backstory, because of the quick pacing and the length. However, I feel the pacing was excellent, and I don't feel like I missed out on anything. When I reached The End, I felt satisfied and entertained.
Steamy romance filled with angst, grief, and a broad definition of love. An emotional and sensual novella, which tells an entire story.
Would I recommend this title: Yes, to open-minded erotica readers who enjoy menage and m/f/m. There is taboo subject matter, which I thought was written in a way to remove the 'perverted' bent. Would I read more from this author: Yes.
This menage romance is the story of twin brothers Maxwell and Marcellus and the love of their life Emily. When Emily, in love with Maxwell, loses him in the war, she turns to Marcellus in her grief and eventually succumbs to the passion she feels for him and agrees to be his wife. But when an injured Maxwell turns out to be alive and returns to her, Emily is torn between the two brothers. Can they convince her that she can have both of them?
I really enjoyed this story. I thought the setting was unique - you don't see too many historical romances set in the era of world war 1 and I appreciated the little details of that time period, including Maxwell's letters to Emily from the front lines detailing his wartime experiences. Emily is a well written character as a grief stricken woman whose conscience is torn by her feelings for her presumed dead lover and the dark passions she feels for his brother. I liked both brother's as well - as twins, they share a strong emotional bond that includes a somewhat psychic connection that lets one brother feel all the other brother feels, including physical moments. Marcellus is the darker, brooding twin while Maxwell is the gentle, tender man. With Emily, their lovemaking shows these different sides of their personalites, making Emily long for both men. The love scenes are steamy as Emily lets both men seduce her individually and eventually together. Overall, this was a quick and entertaining erotic romance. 4 stars!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This very emotional, passionate and ultimately scorchingly hot read may be short, but definitely delivers. It is well written, with lots of nods to the time in which it is set. The characters develop depth more than one might expect from a novella. The glimpses of the twins parents' behaviour were amusing, and providential. A very enjoyable read.
Sweet and hot. I wanted it to be longer because the story was just so good. I have a love hate relationship with novellas. I love them...the quick and sweet pace of reading a good story, and then I always hate when the story ends. I despaired when this story finished, because it was such a interesting one.
The love of Emily's life, Maxwell went off to war, supposedly dies, and his twin brother Marcellus was there to help Emily collect the pieces. The attraction between Emily and Marcellus leap off the page, and I loved that. Their sex scenes were sizzling, and I was cheering for Marcellus and praying that Emily would fall in love with him, as he obviously adored her. I also fell in love Maxwell through his letters to Emily. I think we were treated to six or seven letters, and they revealed so much about Maxwell character and his love for Emily. What I enjoyed the most was that I cared about all the characters, and I was eager to see how their love triangle was resolved, and it was done wonderfully. Overall, this was a good sexy read. I only wished it was longer. I would definitely recommend.
Stacy Reid is one of my favorite historical romance authors! Letters to Emily brought my love of her writing to a whole new level. I should know better than to read her books before bedtime because I can not put them down and will stay up way past my bedtime to finish her books! And this book in particular, turned the hot and spicy factor up to the max at the end! If you are looking for an engaging love story with emotion, romance, turmoil, and hot sex; then you have found a must buy book! Emily and the love of her life Max are separated by World War I. Max relies on their one night of passion to keep the atrocities of war at bay in his letters to and from his love Emily. While he is away his twin brother, Marcellus, cares for Emily. The love triangle that ensues will keep any reader turning pages for the intrigue and sensuality of their unique situation.
Stacy Reid is becoming one of my favourite romance authors! I read Letters to Emily and I mean WOW, the sex scenes are to die for! Steamy and exciting! Not to be outdone by the passionate lovemaking, the story unfolds smoothly. Set in World War I, letters are written between lovers separeted by the war. Each letter brings to life the disaster of war but also the inseparable bond between Max and Emily. Then comes the twist...Marcellus-Max's twin brother is involved! Stacy neatly entwines the lives of these three characters into a stormy exchange. This book is a must read!
4 stars. So I downloaded this historical romance on a whim from Kindle Unlimited and from the blurb I was expecting an angsty 'i thought he was dead so i agreed to marry his twin brother, but the first brother is still alive, how will I choose???' story but instead got a 'why choose?' story. I'm not mad about it.
Lady Emmeline Langford – Emily – thought her beloved Maxwell Wynwood had died in the Great War, and after some time had resigned herself to marry his twin brother Marcellus in his stead. She did not love Marcellus, but she had always been attracted to him, but in a different way than she was to Maxwell. But Maxwell was not dead, and Marcellus knew …
Wow! I knew that LETTERS TO EMILY would be super steamy, but what I had not anticipated was the emotion that permeated the story. While it starts on the sexy side pretty quickly, the melancholy sets in soon after, as Emily first experiences passion with Marcellus. Then guilt hits her, and oh how she agonises over her predicament, which in her eyes is unthinkable, but undeniable. When Maxwell reappears, things get obviously more complicated. The deception was justified, and the very special bond the twins shared gave a slightly gothic flavour to the narrative. Even though this is a short novella, Stacy Reid includes some insightful observations on the devastation of WWI as well as the way the world was changing. I also enjoyed that little bit of Christmas cheer. There were also some letters that Maxwell had sent Emily that were particularly lovely. I wondered how Ms. Reid would settle the whole affair – if you will pardon the pun – but it was very clever. If you’re in need of a beautifully written little quickie, LETTERS TO EMILY is what you need!
I was gifted a copy of this book, which I voluntarily read and reviewed without any incentive or pressure to do so. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Whoa, Stacy Reid's Letters to Emily is not only a lovely, heart aching read it is also hot, hot, hot! Emily is engaged to Maxwell but he died in the war. She has now agreed to marry his twin Marcellus. Emily is attracted to Marcellus, but feels so guilty because of her attraction believing she is betraying Max. Marcellus wants Emily - hands down, he wants her in all ways. Marcellus has a secret, he knows his twin is alive but he still wants Emily for himself - and even better he wants Emily for both of them. I won't add any spoilers, but this book is hot and is sweet. Emily finds herself caught (literally) between two men, two identical men. Hmmm, doesn't sound like a bad situation to be in. I believe Stacy Reid is a fantastic author and is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Highly recommend Letters to Emily - really awesome read.
This steamy, sexy novella was a fun surprise. I just wanted it to be longer! I felt like I was just getting to know the characters when it ended. If it had been a fully flushed novel, I feel like it could have been so much more fulfilling. As it was, it was very enjoyable with appealing characters and some really hot and steamy f/m and m/f/m sexcapades. But along with the sex were really strong connections and love between the characters which added so much to story. This was a thoroughly entertaining novella and I look forward to more from Stacy Reid.
I loved this book but I knew I would because I have loved every book by Stacy Reid. I am picky on books with 2 guys and one girl because they are most of the time not done right but Stacy did it were it seamed like the natural thing to do. Don't let the idea scare you off because this is a really good book.
One of the most enjoyable M/M/F menage stories I've read in ages. Lovely historical detail (WW1 English aristocracy), great chemistry between the leads (twin brothers Marcellus and Maxwell, and Emily)a touch of angst and drama, and smoking hot sex scenes.
If you are looking for a quick, super steamy read with a sweet happily ever after, this is ideal.
I LOVE Stacy Reid. I have read all her books in historical romance. I've already read over 360 books this year alone and she is by far my all time favorite. I wish all 360 I have read were hers. Can't wait for the next one!
This seemed a little too sick and twisted for my taste. She’s banging both brothers and everyone is ok with that. And also at the same time, hell no! I absolutely love Stacy Reids books, But this was over the top for me.
This was what I like to call a pleasant read. A good book to read that is nothing heart wrenching and nothing that's completely dull, just simple and decent quality. The characters were easy to like and if you just go along with the storyline without looking too much into it, I think anyone can enjoy it. It's definitely not the greatest love of all time but it certainly doesn't bore you either. I liked that we got a piece of everyone's pov to see what they were thinking and what they felt. I like that there was a clear understanding between the brothers that there was no need to be jealous of each other, there was no animosity or underlying resentment, they seemed completely in tune with the fact that they would both want the same woman, only one would marry for the title to be passed down, the way their kids would work, and maintaining an unacceptable (in society's eyes) relationship behind closed doors. They had come to terms with how their lives would work, they accepted it was different, and the only problem between them was getting Emily to be open to it.
It was very interesting to read considering this genre usually isn't done in historical romance and I like how the author got creative and put her own twist on it, it worked considering the time period. I'm glad I got the opportunity to read this but I think this will be a book I only read once, not because I didn't like it, I did, but because it's very simple and short as in straight to the point. It didn't captivate me or blow me away is what I'm getting at, I guess and that's ok. So, a decent read and if you're in the mood for a quick and no angst book with a happy ending, this might be for you.
I gave this book two stars because it was kinda half baked. I know lots of people are unsettled by the preposterous of the twin bond described but I accepted it pretty easily. Even with that, I did feel some emotional responses to be a bit mercurial or erratic, rather. I think Emily was a little too indecisive for me, even though I know her development was based or forfeiting her denials...
In shot, this book just had some pieces misplaced. The twinscape also kinda felt underwhelming at times. We knew coming in that their brands of sex, lust and communication would be different. That’s cool. I guess I just wanted this story to be fleshed out just a tad more.
For example, Emily admitted her contradicting feelings really early and briefly as matter-of-fact. Like woah, this is little detail that makes the difference! We can’t just bury it. The bridge to allow the reader to understand the duality of her attachment could have been more explained. Instead, it came off as Emily running from one bed to the other.
But honestly, this was a fantasy read. I’m not maddddd! At all lol. Go Stacy. I’m binging her books for the rest of the year.
Honestly, I'm surprised at the rating for this book. Don't people read the synopsis or even see the book cover before reading a book? Maybe there was no book description then? That's the only explanation for everyone giving low rating because this is a MFM romance between two brothers. I thought they didn't like the character or something in the story development but really they just disliked the menage.... Why would you even read the book if you don't like the the plot?
Anyway, this one was so freaking good. Lots of spice mixed with some actual plot. I loved the heck out of it. I loved Maxwell and Marcellus so much. I could just see them in my mind. I didn't expect the raw emoting this book portrayed and it captured the war time atmosphere perfectly even with the limited exploration of the world we had. I would love read about Lady Harcourt, Grayson and the Duke. I think it would so amazing!
I personally didn't like the slaps from FMC. It just felt cliche and I feel like it was unnecessary. Plus the spice was teasing into hard-core territory but then mellowed and fizzled out as the story progressed.
I read this fast-paced novella based during the era of World War 1 in a couple of hours. It's pure escapism in a fictional world where twin brothers, Maxwell and older Marcellus who is the Marquis of Blackthorn, introduce Lady Emmeline Langford to an intimate relationship that involves three people.
Each chapter starts with love letters written by Maxwell during his time served in the war to Emily. They reveal wartime experiences of the time, and his utter devotion to her. Meanwhile, Emily is living under the same roof as Maxwell's mother as her companion, and with his father and uncle and brother Marcellus. That older generation dynamic is another similar story in itself. When Maxwell is presumed dead, Marcellus steps in to fill a longing that eventuates into the love triangle that is the story.
It is my first read in this genre but likely my last. I picked this book up as it was a short novella and reviews hinted at a more understandable situation.
I recommend this story to open-minded romance readers because even though it's taboo subject matter, it's written in a way to remove the perverted bent.
I was looking for something short and historical and after reading the description this sounded perfect.
After the death of her fiance Max, Emily is set to marry his brother Marcellus. She'd promised to let Marcellus take care of her if anything happened to Max.
Still grieving Emily has letters from Max that offer a bit of comfort. One evening Marcellus finds her reading a letter and asks if she'll one day share the letters with him. She let's him read this particular letter and he decides right then that he knows what she needs.
It gets spicy and she's feeling guilty but he makes her feel things she's never felt before. Until things get a little complicated.
If you are into ménage then you’ll enjoy this short story.
Refreshing to read a different time period from this author. However the nature of this short story didn’t give the author time to fully develop these characters.
Since ménage is not vanilla I almost feel bereft of the lack of character development that could have added to flesh out the complexity of an unconventional relationship such as this.
Almost feels like a work to “dip one’s toe” into the ménage genre quickly and be done with it to see if readers would appreciate the departure in the work from vanilla. You are either into this kinda thing or not I guess and you can’t be a writer for all readers.
Letters To Emily is a fairly quick holiday historical romance by Stacy Reid. This book is a M/F/M menage so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. This book is well-written, the characters are totally awesome. Emily is still grieving the loss of her beloved Maxwell. Maxwell's twin, Marcellus, has been in love with Emily for years and is finally making his move. But what will happen when Emily learns Maxwell isn't dead? Maxwell, Emily and Marcellus's story doesn't lack in angst, steam or suspense. I loved this book and look forward to reading more from Stacy Reid in the future. These are all complete books, not cliffhangers.
3.5-4 I went in knowing it was a novella.. but even shorter than expected. ⭐️ very smutty ⭐️ did keep my interest well enough since i knew it was short. ⭐️ good it was short cause couldn’t keep the pace overly long.
😬 while needed short.. I cannot fathom! why it ended at 82% in.. that wasn’t ok or normal. 😬 there should have been the wedding, the book literally just cut that part off and ended out of no where. So so odd! 😬 while I know about twins with family and friends.. this was very hard to believe the depth of what they felt when the other was fucxing Emily. Or in another city and still felt it. Yeah no.
LETTERS TO EMILY - 5 stars Probably my favorite in this box set. Perhaps because it was a menage story (MFM/MF) and I like to read them here and now. The bond between twins was unimaginable at times because how can someone feel when the other twin is having sex? I could believe them having an emotional bond so deep, just not a ''sensational'' bond if that makes sense.
