This story is told in alternating povs of Sam and Liz and although it's short it was indeed a page turner. Flashbacks of four years ago along with hot and steam in the present while mixing some mystery around a woman named Asia and a friend named Connor will leave you eager to one click the next book.
"Sometimes it's nice to want things you can't have, and sometimes the want is so deep that it's a flame tearing through your heart."
This will be a three part series with book two releasing today and book 3 releasing March 3, 2015.

“Something Wild” is the prequel to "Something Reckless", the first installment in “Reckless & Real“ series by Lexy Ryan.
The story, told in dual POV fallows the relationship between Sam and Liz, the two main characters. This “thing” between them started four years ago, when Liz was only seventeen. Then she just wanted to lose her virginity and the perfect guy in her opinion was Sam, her friend’s older brother. Sam rejected her, but not because he didn’t want her. He wanted her too for some time, but he didn’t want to use her, especially when she drunk too much.
Now, Liz is 21 and Sam is 24. They still are attracted to each other so they decide to explore this amazing chemistry between them.
They agree to remain friends after, even if they both know things will never be the same between them. Liz knows that what she feels for Sam can became more than a simply attraction, but she can’t let herself forget that Sam doesn’t do relationships.
I really enjoyed this shorty. Even if it was a novella, there’s actually a story here and both MC are enough developed “to know” them. Their chemistry is fantastic and the sex scenes are steamy and at times intense. I really enjoyed the dual POV. It was great to be in Sam and Liz heads.
I really didn’t expected to enjoy it as much as I did. I’m looking forward to read the next installment in the series.

Lies, secrets, betrayals and a couple who steamed up our Kindles! WOW! This was one steamy Novella! Sam and Liz certainly have chemistry in spades. Liz is an interesting character, there’s much to her persona we can’t wait to uncover and Sam….well, he’s something else! We loved him! This dirty talking, commanding and very sexy man is hiding a plethora of secrets and we NEED to know!!!!

Told through alternate POV’s between Sam and Liz, Lexi Ryan has set this series up perfectly. She has sufficiently teased us, ensuring we will dive head first into Something Reckless when it releases!

There was just enough insight into Sam, Liz and the other characters to pull us into her story and leave us gasping for more. There are a few flashbacks to four years prior which lays the groundwork for Sam and Liz’s relationship with lots more to uncover.

3.5 “Rowdy” “one night” Kisses
Lexi Ryan books are absolute must reads for me. She hooked me with the New Hope Series, sucked me in with the Here & Now Series and I’ve been on the edge of my sear waiting for the Reckless and Real Series. I cannot even explain my excitement over Sam and Liz…and this prequel amp’d me up even more. I have a huge feeling that I’m going to have my heart ripped to shreds and I can’t wait!
Elizabeth Thompson…oh Lizzy girl…I’ve always adored Liz from the other two series, but on a superficial level. Getting to know her more…understanding her thoughts, especially as they relate to Sam was...well, for lack of a better word…fun! Liz is a fun girl overall but I feel like she’s never really been allowed to be 100% her…she’s always putting on a brave face or faking it…I want to see the real her, the one very few people get to see and understand. She has a lot to offer and it saddens me that no one has really appreciated her true potential.
Samuel Bradshaw…I’m just going to go ahead and add him to the list with Asher, Will, Nate and Max…he’s just impossible not to fall in love with. He feels a little…darker than the other boys…but that’s definitely not a bad thing, at least not in my book. But just because he has a bad boy side to him doesn’t take away from the fact that he is to his core a great guy. He’s just got more layers to work with and I’m beyond excited to see what he has in store. There is so much more to Sam…he’s very contained and I just want to crack him wide open.
So…Something Wild is the ‘surprise’ prequel to the Reckless and Real series…is it necessary to read before jumping into all the Liz and Sam goodness? 100% yes! I didn’t know what was going to come from the prequel but…I get it now. It totally sets up everything…there is some history between Sam and Liz that…only Sam and Liz can really tell, so without even cracking open Something Reckless I can already tell you I’m better prepared for the angst that will ensue. Heck, my emotions are already in overdrive with just the ending of Something Wild…Lord help me with these next two books!
The beauty of all of the series is knowing exactly what I’m guaranteed to get...pure emotions…fantastic angst…hot-n-steamy sex…beautiful writing – it’s a beautiful blend that gets me every time. Truly, the magic that brings all of Lexi’s books together for me are her characters…everyone of them intertwines with the other…they play off each other brilliantly and they’re so incredibly relatable and endearing. It’s impossible for me to not be hypnotized by them. I am a willing victim to her amazing torture and she slays me every. Single. Time.
Of course I’m headed straight for Something Reckless…there is no way I can let another moment pass without continuing on Sam and Liz’s journey. My heart is prepared (kind of…) and I’m equal parts excited…terrified…giddy…and nervous. Let’s do this!

Why do we call ourselves names when we're alone? Does confessing the worst about ourselves to the darkness make our flaws easier to bear? Or is it because we fear only the darkness is willing to take us as we are - imperfect, incomplete, and so desperate to be accepted.
Liz is all bravado. Sexy. Confident. It's a facade. She is sexy, with bells on but that girl, when it comes down to the nitty gritty doubts herself and calamity rules.

I seriously love this author's writing style and I love the fact that her books aren't just made up of continuous sex after the initial chase - her characters grow and experience real life day-to-day problems we all encounter which makes Lexi's books so relatable, realistic and freaking awesome! I gave all the books I read about Hannah and Nate's story 5 stars because I fell in love with both of them and their deep issuues. I can't wait to get deep into Liz's and Sam's story too. This was just the prequel and so obviously shorter than her usual books which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. But the content of this book is 5++ stars as usual! :)

Depuis que j'ai lu le premier tome de la série Reckless&Real le mois dernier, j'avais vraiment très envie de découvrir cette novella puisque plusieurs sont d'avis qu'elle devrait être lue avant le tome 1. Il semblerait donc que j'aie fait les choses dans le désordre. Et c'est pour cette raison que je me suis jetée sur cette petite novella dès que je l'ai reçu. J'avais un urgent besoin de réponses.
Je ne compte pas passer par quatre chemins pour vous dire mon avis sur cette novella. J'avais des attentes très précises concernant cette lecture et je dois avouer que je ne suis au final qu'à moitié satisfaite. Lors de ma lecture du premier tome, il y avait plusieurs aspects de l'histoire qui m'avaient semblé flous. J'avais l'impression qu'il me manquait une partie de l'histoire que j'aurais déjà dû connaître. Je me suis donc dis que les réponses à mes questions se trouvaient probablement dans cette novella qui relate les évènements qui se sont déroulés 2 ans avant le premier tome.
Il est certain que cette novella m'a permis de comprendre beaucoup mieux les réactions que Liz et Sam par rapport à leur passé. Je sais maintenant pourquoi Sam est aussi froid avec Connor. Je connais la relation qui unissait Liz et la sœur de Sam. Et je comprends mieux le lien entre Liz et Connor. Mais je ne peux pas vous cacher que cette désagréable sensation de flou persiste. Il y a plusieurs éléments importants de l'histoire qui nous tombent dessus sans qu'on s'y attende et je n'aime tout simplement pas ça. J'en suis venue à la conclusion qu'il s'agit beaucoup plus de mes goûts personnels et que ça n'a rien à voir nécessairement avec la série en général.
Sur une note plus positive, il faut bien avouer que cette novella est super addictive et qui plus est, vraiment très hot. Tout le long du roman, il y a une énorme tension sexuelle entre Liz et Sam. On sent qu'il y a vraiment quelque chose de fort et de magnétique entre eux. Tous les fans de romance seront comblés.
En sommes, une novella addictive et qui apporte beaucoup à l'histoire. Je recommande fortement sa lecture avant celle du premier tome de la série. Ça nous permet de vraiment mieux comprendre pourquoi et comment les personnages vont agir dans le tome 1. Et maintenant, il ne me reste plus qu'à lire le second et dernier tome de la série Reckless&Real pour connaître la fin de cette histoire.

Something Wild is the FREE prequel to Something Reckless by Lexi Ryan. (Something Reckless releases 12/22/14). This is the first time I have read anything by this author. I have to say I was sucked in by the blurb for Something Reckless. I was excited to hear that she created this short story showing us how Liz and Sam met and how they began their journey.
This is a quick read, but I totally think it is a necessary read. I would suggest reading this before reading the next book. I thought Lexi did an excellent job showing us the background to Sam and Liz. She even added some suspense and left me hanging with a whole lot of questions. (That I hope are answered in Something Reckless).
I loved her writing style. I thought it was great that she wrote this in dual POV and it even switches POV's during chapters so you are never left wondering what the other character is feeling in the moment. She also did a fabulous job switching between past and present events. We learn all about liz and Sam's history through flashbacks and I thought those were seamless. Everything just flowed really well.

Something Wild is the FREE prequel to Something Reckless by Lexi Ryan. (Something Reckless releases 12/22/14). This is the first time I have read anything by this author. I have to say I was sucked in by the blurb for Something Reckless. I was excited to hear that she created this short story showing us how Liz and Sam met and how they began their journey.
This is a quick read, but I totally think it is a necessary read. I would suggest reading this before reading the next book. I thought Lexi did an excellent job showing us the background to Sam and Liz. She even added some suspense and left me hanging with a whole lot of questions. (That I hope are answered in Something Reckless).
I loved her writing style. I thought it was great that she wrote this in dual POV and it even switches POV's during chapters so you are never left wondering what the other character is feeling in the moment. She also did a fabulous job switching between past and present events. We learn all about liz and Sam's history through flashbacks and I thought those were seamless. Everything just flowed really well.
I can't wait to start the next book and see where she takes Sam and Liz!!!

4 what the hell just happened stars!
First of all I should have checked the release date for the next one why didn't I do that?! How am I supposed to wait for it? No just no give it to me! This book took me by surprise. To say the least. It was short yes but so well written and packed with emotions and good character just wow way to go Lexi Ryan! The MC is not the whiny type so there's that and the douchebag hero is somewhat a douchebag but bearable to say the least. He had his moments but the way it was delivered made you feel for him to be honest. Smoking hot scenes and possessive MC even though he shouldn't be made for a great read that again I should have checked the release date why oh why didn't I?!

Well...reading this short one makes me very interested to find out the rest of Sam and Liz's story. Things might have gone better for them both had they not been so pig headed. Each of them had a chance to make things work at different time, each screwed up big time. I wonder how much longer they will continue to do that.

Je trouve surprenante cette mode des préquels qui sortent après le premier tome. Personnellement je n'apprécie pas. Dans mon esprit un préquel est un élément marketing. C'est soit un bonus soit une partie constituante du premier tome.
Bref dans la série de Lexi Ryan, nos deux héros Liz et Sam se connaissent depuis très longtemps. La jeune femme était la meilleure amie de la sœur du bel âtre.
On voit ici les moments clés, les rencontres (forcément sulfureuses) entre ces deux-là. Alors c'est bien écrit. Dans le sens où ça se lit très vite. Il faut dire que le récit est très court. Certainement qu'il n'y avait pas matière à plus....
Alors oui ce qui ont aimé le 1er tome, on retrouve l'alchimie, l'attirance mais au niveau de l'histoire vous n'y trouverez pas votre compte.
Donc, je pense que ce type de tome 0,5 est surtout destiné aux fans. Bref un bon moment que seuls les initiés apprécieront à leur juste valeur. Pour les autres, vous pouvez passer directement au tome 2.

Ce court roman est la prequelle d'un diptyque s'inscrivant dans l'univers de New Hope dont font partie aussi sa précédente série.
On découvre ici Liz une jeune femme qui est amoureuse depuis l'adolescence de Sam, le frère d'une de ses meilleures amies. Or, celui-ci l'a déjà rejeté une fois et Liz craint u nouveau refus. Elle se lance quand même dans un jeu de séduction où elle ose s'exposer. En dépit d'une certaine résistance, Sam ne semble pas indifférent à ses charmes. Il n'en faut pas plus pour encourager notre héroïne.
Sam, quant à lui se trouve dans une situation compliqué. Il ne peut rien offrir à Liz comme relation de couple et n'ignore pas que s'il être dans son jeu il va la faire souffrir. Oui mais lui résister s'avère plus difficile que prévu.
Une histoire brève, intense et sensuelle.
La fin du récit ne donne qu'une envie, se jeter sur le tome suivant Something dangerous afin de découvrir ce qu'il va advenir de nos deux héros tourmentés.

Frustration totale… Elle est où la suite ?!? Ouf elle arrive le mois prochain 😊
Vu le nombre de page, clairement c’est pour donner envie de poursuivre, effet on ne peut plus réussi avec moi d’ailleurs. Avec ce prequel, Lexi Ryan nous présente Sam et Liz qui eux se connaissent depuis un moment déjà.
On comprend d’ores et déjà qu’entre eux ce n’est pas un long fleuve tranquille, qu’il y a, et qu’il y aura encore pas mal de perturbations sur la route du happy end. Ce prequel nous ouvre l’appétit, en arrivant à la fin, nous sommes plus que prêts pour le plat de résistance ! Et croyez-moi si je vous dis que Sam, j’en ferais bien mon goûter…
Quand les enjeux sont beaucoup plus importants que les sentiments, cela peut faire des dégâts ! Quels enjeux ? Je vous laisse le découvrir par vous-même… Mais le résumé en dit déjà bien assez pour que j’en ajoute encore 😉
