I feel absolutely bummed. I requested this because I really liked the premise. When I downloaded it, I was shocked at how short it is. But I wasn't that worried because I've read short books before that still packed quite a punch story-wise. But as I started reading, it became apparent that this book wasn't going to be one of those.

Macy Grant haven't dated or had sex in over 5 years, so her friends staged an "intervention". One of her friends set her up with a client of hers. Turns out, her date was a tool but she did meet Jake on that same date. The next time she and Jake saw each other again, it was at an engagement party -- Jake's. She only found out that very important detail after having sex with him, by the way. So awkward.

At this point, I was rolling my eyes so hard. Both Macy and her friend are so immature. To think they're in their late 20s. And Jake? He's not a hero. He's a zero. I absolutely couldn't find any redeeming quality about the guy. He agreed to be a beard because he's failing as an artist. Boo-hoo!

Add into the mix the lack of chemistry between Macy and Jake and I just couldn't take it anymore. Good thing, this was a short read or else I wouldn't have been able to finish it. :(

I requested this book on Netgalley thinking that it would be something that I would really enjoy based from the synopsis but I was shocked hen I saw how short it was. But I didn't let that frustrate me because as the saying goes "Good things come in small packages"

Well that was not the case in this book. The scenes were VERY unbelievable and the way things progressed was confusing. I know that this is a novella and it cannot help to have the scenes be faster but this was really fast to the point of unbelievable so I guess that's the reason why I never liked this book.

Received digital edition from publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Yes, I requested this book. Yes, this book looked like it would be a fun and flirty quick little read, which I just so happened to be in the mood for. But the reality is, I was fairly disappointed. Though the story itself has the potential to be something great and the premises as laid out in the blurb sounds just as fun, the thing that let this book down was the writing. It was like the characters were disconnected and disjointed from each other. There didn't seem to be anything but a superficial relationship between Macy and her friends and then Macy and Jake.
I also felt let down by the lack of angsty drama when the 'big reveal' was discovered. I wanted a little more heart wrenching, tear jerking, especially from a such a short story. It's probably only my opinion, but short stories need to pack more in, which means more drama, more emotion, more...well, everything.
There were moments of fun, but all in all I simply just didn't see it. Or more accurately - believe it.

I thought the book was going to be better than what it actually was. There was potential for the storyline to be good but it ended up lacking. Parts of it wasn't too hard to figure out what was happening. The ending of the book was also disappointing. It felt rushed and just didn't cut it. If the book had been longer, there could have been better character development between Jake and Macy. There were also parts of the book that didn't make sense. When Jasmine and Macy left the engagement party, the book states they went to Jasmine's house and ended up hanging out for a few days, in pajamas. Jake shows up looking for Macy and all of a sudden everything happened the night before instead of two nights and she had slept in her clothes. What bugs me is what I paid for such a short and disappointing book.

Hilariously sexy read. I was gifted a copy of exposed for my honest viewpoint on the story. Found this book to be a fun and endearing read. Macy, the female lead in the story is awkwardly endearing. Jake, the male lead is the ultimate mysterious brooder. The supporting characters had me laughing out loud. Exposed by Zoey Williams is a fun and entertaining read.
