Elite 8 Studios #5

Teddy (Elite 8 Studios Book 5): Alternate Cover

Rate this book
Waking up married is bad enough. Having feelings for my husband? Pure disaster.

Teddy
I wasn’t looking for attachments. I certainly wasn’t looking to get drunkenly hitched to my coworker’s best friend, the very man I’ve been denying an attraction to for over a year.

The thing is Kipp is gorgeous and kind and a self-proclaimed mess, and now that we’re married—and living together—all I want is to take care of him.

But Kipp is only just learning about his submissive side. It doesn’t matter how good he is for me. It doesn’t even matter that he turns to putty every time I call him doll.

He’s not mine to keep. Our husbands-with-benefits relationship is temporary, and once we get divorced, everything will go back to the way it was. Kipp and I may have shared our I dos, but let’s face it…

Falling for the man who wears my ring would only end in heartbreak.

Teddy is a wake-up-married romance between a teddy bear adult entertainer and the hot mess he shacks up with. There’s caretaker-Dom elements and a gentle exploration of kink, spanking (but not as punishment), only one bed, plenty of lighthearted mayhem, and one very HEA. It’s book five in the Elite 8 Studios series but can be read as a standalone.

“Drunken weddings for the win.”

I really enjoyed Kipp and Teddy’s story. Kipp was such a fun and layered character. Scatter-brained, chaotic, funny but also sweet, lonely, an over-thinker.

“You make me feel fragile in a way I’ve never allowed before. And I like it. A lot. Please don’t break me.”

Teddy’s name is perfect for this mega teddy bear of a man. The way he just took care of Kipp was so swoon-worthy.
They both found each other when they needed most and I fell for them as they went from being married to being in love.

“Mine to use and cherish and play with. Is that what you want, Kipp? To be treated like the precious babydoll you are?” Fucking hell. I drop my head to the wall, panting into the steamy air. “Words, sweetheart.” “Yes,” I whisper, licking my lips. “Yes. Please.

The steam? Holy moly on a cannoli. It was scorching. I love some good caretaking, some Daddy Dom vibes, so this was fire. And babydoll?? Hell to the yes.

Doll. Fuck, why is that so hot? I shouldn’t want to be compared to something pretty and delicate and oftentimes feminine, should I?
Good doll.” Holy fucking hell.

I also appreciate the non-happy ending with Kipp’s parents. Even if it hurt, it felt real. There is no magic cure in real life, no fairy tale fix for shitty people. Sometimes those meant to love you most just..don’t. So even though I love when MCs reconcile with their families, when the characters recognize their wrong ways and decide to be better, I also appreciate the flip side of the coin. It’s reality, it’s relatable, it’s validating.
And despite everything, we get to see Kipp find his own happiness and create his own accepting family. And that’s beautiful and heartwarming and soul soothing.

I obviously had a lot of emotional ups and downs reading this book, but I very much enjoyed the whole ride and continue to love this series.

«It’s going to hurt no matter how much further I fall. I might as well enjoy the plummet.»

"I don't want to fuck you, Kipp. I want to own you."

And he did. Teddy really freaking did!

I've been dying for Teddy to get a book for ages now, and this did not disappoint at all! He is so swoony and dreamy, and I loved his whole Daddy vibe that he had going on. He's the perfect balance to Kipp, who is always so all over the place, and I really loved the dynamic between them. Hands down these two are my most favorite Elite couple by far!

- woke up married
- Daddy & his Babydoll
- age gap (like 6-7 years)

Isn’t it funny how some of the most romantic books I’ve read lately feature characters working in adult entertainment?

I remember reading the first book in this series and being a bit… not weirded out, more like surprised on how I was able to keep the “work” sex apart from the “relationship” sex part. But Emmy Sanders pulls it off - her books are usually mostly free of drama, focusing on the main characters, are mostly funny and lighthearted. Oh, and hot 🔥

The steam in this book here is absolutely steaming 🫠 we have Teddy aka Theo, one of the guys working at Elite 8, who’s a daddy dom, and Kipp, who’s a bit of an overthinking people pleaser, and who discovers with Teddy’s help that he has a submissive side. It starts with both of them at a party, getting drunk, and waking up married (it’s all set in Vegas). Not only that, but they obviously posted the pictures all over social media, so there’s no way they can immediately back out.

Not that they want to 😅

Annnnyyyyyway. They work through it, and I loved them together, and how they made each other strong enough to be able to cut the ties to their respective past (Kipp has a very conservative, religious family, and Teddy/Theo has a piece of shit brother and an ex boyfriend).

Another thing I loved: the cameos of previous characters, mainly Alex aka Tink and Niko aka Adonis and his boisterous family.

It’s not quite a 5 star read, but still highly recommended, especially if you read (and loved) the previous books in this series.

✨ARC REVIEW✨
Let me center myself after this read... We already met Kip as Niko's friends in Dix. He's a sweet disaster, an endearingly expansive and awkward. Teddy has been in the background of the previous books as one of the performers in the studio, with total daddy vibes which turn out to be sooo on point. Dear sweet Alex, who has a penchant from playing matchmaker to perfection, already knows these two are made for one another. And, my dudes, isn't he right!
After drinking themselves stupid, they wake up married. And instead of annulling their marriage, they decide to stay married for... reasons. Soon, they enter into a hubbies-with-benefits situation, that turns out to be so much more for both of them. But there are shitty things in their pasts that make them not let themselves open up freely. Shitty things and shitty people, ugh.

Teddy is a daddy dom and Kip is his doll, and I was DYING over their dynamics. This book was smutty af, but with that sweet sweet feelings Emmy infuses into all her stories.

Every new book I read from Elite 8 Studios is my new favourite... But this one is probably my favourite. For real. Maybe.
10/10 recommend.

Thanks Gay Romance Reviews and the author for the ARC. The amount of drooling and general fanboy feelings in the review are just my honest to Satan thoughts.

2.5⭐️ rounded up.

For the most part, I’ve really enjoyed this series and I had looked forward to Teddy and Kipp’s book but this was a bit disappointing for me.

Although I really loved them both as characters the story was pretty lacklustre. It was more no angst than low angst and the main ‘plot’ of the story seemed to ride on them ‘pretending’ to be together, because they didn’t realise they both had feelings even though Teddy repeatedly is all ‘you’re mine’ ‘I own you’ ‘you belong to me’ etc. so like, there was no good reason why Kipp wouldn’t know that 😅

Also, it’s a series about porn stars in a porn studio. There was no porn and the ones scene where we almost got porn was fade to black???? I felt robbed honestly and I’m still salty about it.

Some of the stuff I didn’t enjoy was purely personal preference, I didn’t love the whole babydoll/doll thing. I didn’t really care for Teddy’s bizarre backstory with Antoni and his brother because it didn’t make any sense.

Anyway, if you want something fluffy with nice characters then this will probably be your cup of tea.

I got received an ARC of this from Gay Romance Reviews. This is my honest review.

Honestly, this was just what I needed at this moment. I was struggling to find a new read after a couple dnfs and disappointments and this was apparently the exact kind of low stakes, feel good, silliness that I needed to reset. This is only the second book I've read by this author (I read 10 Ways..) and the first of this series but it was easy to read as a standalone and I might go back and read the other guys' stories now.

The setup for this was ridiculous with the whole "we got married in Vegas and don't remember" scenario but I liked that they weren't total strangers beforehand - they knew each other because Kipp was best friends with Niko, and Teddy was Niko's coworker at Studio 8. They were already acquainted with each other and Teddy was already quietly pining from afar so it made the relationship feel a little more grounded than others I've read of this trope.

I think the reason why this was such a win for me was that I absolutely adored both MCs. They were complete green flags, very sweet and fun, perfect matches for one another, and I never got annoyed with either of them until the very end. And the annoyance toward the end was just the same issue that I have with every "with benefits" arrangement.

Kipp was a self proclaimed "hot mess", but I don't think he really was. He was successful in his career and there were no indications that he was lacking age appropriate executive functioning skills - no financial mismanagement, no chronic lateness, no flaky behaviors with friends or hookups, no signs that he couldn't figure out how to take care of his own basic needs. Truly, he was just silly and funny and slightly too much of a people pleaser. A bit unserious but not at all in a malicious or obnoxious way. I thought he was a goddamn delight and even if he had been a little messy, I love me a messy man.

Teddy was the kind of Daddy Dom that dreams are made of. He was calming, competent, (respectfully) commanding, and he simply wanted to please and care for his doll. I would sign my life lease over to him in an instant. He had a bunch of very, very sexy skills - honestly the author almost did too much. He could cook, he spoke French fluently (he was French Canadian), he was a lawyer who did pro bono work for a LGBTQ+ youth center, he was quietly confident and comfortable in his body and self, and of course he fucked like a god.

The sex was fantastic. Their dynamic was perfection. I love D/s and I love Daddy kink. The Daddy part was used sparingly but it made sense for the two of them. And, while I love a "good boy", Kipp did not - so Teddy didn't use it, simple as that. Instead, Kipp was his "doll" and he loved it. There was maybe a little too much clinical/explanatory discussion surrounding the kink, but Kipp was new to everything and I do love safe sex practice so I get why those discussions needed to happen. Kipp discovering sub space was incredible. The spanking was immaculate. Teddy recognizing Kipp's need to let go and being the safe place for him to do so was beautiful. I think I would've loved to see an overstimulation/forced orgasm scene (I just think it would've worked with them), but otherwise, no notes - 10/10.

Teddy being a porn star didn't play into the story as much as I thought it might. There was zero on page action between him and his scene partners, and Kipp was completely fine with it (in fact he thought it was pretty hot). Their dynamic was solely for them - Teddy wasn't a Daddy Dom to any of his scene partners and what they did together he did not do with anyone else. I am staunchly against other person drama - I truly hate when MCs are with others on page or there's FWB or exes who still have feelings hanging around, but I find that with sex work I can separate it. I think I struggle a little more with escorts, but with porn the other person is also a professional so they're truly just coworkers instead of like a random person.

One of my biggest peeves of all time is when MCs in a "with benefits" situation patently refuse to have even one single adult conversation about their feelings. It drives me fucking crazy. I cannot fathom the idea of someone thinking it's better to hang on to that one part of the person they love, being on edge that it could implode at any moment, than have a conversation that could lead to them having everything. Especially in situations like this where it's pretty clear they're both super into each other. The whole "I don't want to risk losing what we have" is crazy to me. Honestly, if it turned out the other person was like "yea, no, sorry bud"- then ok! Now you know and you can go find someone who will love you like you want! This will never not make me mad.

Luckily, the MCs each had their own little personal conflicts, so a decent amount of the angst (of which there was little overall anyway) was from those situations and less from their romantic status. Teddy had an Evil Ex and brother and Kipp had a bigoted family. I thought both of those issues were well resolved.

I super adored the love confessions. I am a big ol slut for juicy, swoony declarations and in this, the initial declarations were cute but not life changing, but later there's a scene where they tell each other a bunch of specific things they love about the other and it was fucking cute as hell and everyone should be doing that, please!

Anyway I am so fucking happy that I read this and (fingers crossed) hopefully this got me out of my reading slump!

Pet names: doll, babydoll, sweetheart, chéri, little potato (honestly cuter than it sounds), Daddy

“Teddy! I know you. Hey, open up. Not for anything weird, I swear. I just wanna put a dick on your tongue.”

“You need a keeper.” “You could keep me,”

“I don’t want to fuck you, Kipp.” “No?” I ask, disappointment hitting hard. I could have sworn… “I want to own you.”

“No one touches you but me,” he says, the words not the threat they should be. “Say it, doll.” “No one,” I whisper.

“You are mine. Mine to take care of. Mine to enjoy. Which means all you need to do is listen and be good for me. Think you can do that?”

“You’re so beautiful, sweetheart. Every part of you. It hurts. Do you get that? It hurts how much I want you.”

“I like that you’re bigger than me. That you can throw me around or hold me down or—oh, hello.” Our waitress gives us a nervous sort of smile.

Safety (may contain spoilers)

SA/rape: None

Other person drama: Teddy has an Evil Ex who causes some issues but it is not wanted at all. Early on Kipp goes out to try to pick up but isn't successful because he was wearing his wedding ring. Teddy had told him repeatedly that nothing was going to happen between them though, so I didn't blame Kipp for going out. Teddy continues his porn work during the entire course of the book. This doesn't bother me because to me work is work and Kipp is totally fine with it, but I know for some that's a hard line. At one point Kipp goes to work with Teddy and watches him film a scene but it's not on page.

I had the best time reading about Teddy and Kipp! Emmy Sanders wrote their dynamic and relationship so well, and I fell totally in love with them and their story!

I adored Kipp and Teddy, to the degree that I kept going back to their story for a week. Kipp was so much fun to read, I loved his personality, all bratty and teasing, and it worked so well together with Teddy’s personality. And Teddy? He was the absolute sweetest Daddy Dom, so caring and ridiculously in love with Kipp. They were perfect for each other and I loved to see Teddy take care of Kipp and giving him things in their relationship that he wasn’t even aware that he needed.

There was a lot of humour, and Kipp’s inner monologues in particular made me laugh a lot. The back and forth between him and Teddy was very entertaining to read and I couldn’t put their story down. Their romance was full of sweetness and incredibly swoony, I loved how they were both insecure about their feelings for each other and had to support one another in order to overcome the things from the past that held them back. They’re definitely one of my new favourite couples, and their dynamic was just *chef’s kiss*!

Teddy had a lot of great tropes and it was a fantastic and fun addition to the Elite 8 Studios series! I loved the cameos from the other characters and I’m really fond of these characters and the found family Emmy Sanders has created with this series. Honestly can’t wait for Emil’s story!

Thank you to GRR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This, dare I say it, is my favourite in the Elite 8 series so far! Teddy was an absolute SWEET AS MAPLE SYRUP CANADIAN DADDY DOM OF MY DREAAAAMS. And Kipp omg. His humour and the way he talks, it honestly felt like looking into a mirror. Let's not even get into how this is an accidental marriage because that is just like the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae tbh.

The cameos from some of our favourite Elite 8 cast members were hilarious (Alex I'm looking at you) and I just felt myself smiling the whole time. The sex was top notch, as always with Emmy, but the feels were better and I just can't get enough. Emil is next and I am already THIRSTY for his story. Gimmegimmegimme.

DNF at 40% - This is a sweet, no-angst story that started off good but then sort of waned for me.
I couldn’t really connect with Kipp or Teddy.
I didn’t understand why Teddy was in porn when he had a lucrative career as a lawyer, especially after entering a serious relationship where he demanded monogamy from Kipp. Felt kind of hypocritical.

I also couldn’t get a good read on Kipp. He’s described as a big/tall, masculine guy but is written like a twink, he’s a himbo/golden retriever one minute and then a smart, buttoned-up software programmer the next? His character just felt all over the place and I couldn’t picture him.
I didn’t read Dix or Tink, so maybe I’m missing some setup or character qualities that were discussed in those books. I really think this series needs to be read in order to fully enjoy, so that’s my fault, but also, I’m just done with the porn star trope. It’s been beaten to death.

I love Emmy and can’t wait for a different series once this one is over.

Teddy is book five of the Elite 8 Studios series by Emmy Sanders. This book was so much fun to read. It’s hilarious, emotional and it brings all the heat.

Emmy I have fallen in love with all the books I’ve read by you. Teddy was no different. I was quickly entrapped in this story. This one flowed seamlessly, which to be honest, I’m sad about how fast I read it. I wasn’t ready for their journey to end. I just couldn’t put this down. It was such a beautiful and emotional story. I laughed more than I cried.

These two characters spoke to my soul. Teddy and Kipp are my favorites from the Elite 8 Studios.

The banter, emotional pull and Kipp awkwardness was spot on. The way I related to Kipp’s verbal diarrhea, awkwardness, and need to deflect with humor had me. He is the male version of myself, I’m sure of it.

The daddy dom and brat dynamic, and the woke up married storyline were written perfectly. However, I need to know where you wrote this magical creature of a green flag man, Teddy because I need one.

Kipp and Teddy are the balance and missing piece in each others lives. They’ve known of each other for almost two years but Teddy has kept his distance out of fear over past trauma. Until one day they wake up in bed together married.

Teddy is a gentle nurturer and caretaker. He is without a doubt the perfect man. He is so gentle and kind to be a bear of a man. He knew what Kipp needed before Kipp did. This man is soul deep and I loved how much he cares about those he loves. I related to him in that way.

My love for Teddy knows no bounds. He is my new book husband along with Ellis.

Thank you Emmy Sanders for letting me ARC read this one for you. Pure perfection right here. This is my honest opinion.

"He's comfort. He's home. With him, everything quiets. Everything stills.

Where Kipp has always had a bit of an eye for Teddy, Teddy always kept a distance. But then they wake up married with no recollection of how that happened and how they got there.

I love a great story that starts with waking up with no memory of your Vegas wedding the night before, to someone you weren’t even with. It’s always a recipe for hilarious reactions and a whirlwind of a story. With Kipp having posted pictures of their nuptials. There is no taking it back, everybody knows.

"It's so loud sometimes. Up here," I say, pointing to my head. "There are opinions and deadlines and second-guessing and...
Just a lot of noise, all
the time. But Teddy... He makes it quiet."

From the start Kipp and Teddy are so good together, they complement each other. Teddy has a sweet dominance that Kipp needs. Their dynamic is epic, the steam was hot and on point and feels were undeniable.

“You realize I’m never going to be able to let you go?” he says hoarsely, as if that’s a bad thing. “You’re min, Kipling. You’re fucking mine.”

Teddy just made me want to have a big cuddle, daddy dom, Emmy makes it sound sooooo good! Perfect recipe of feel-good romance with a lot of heat and a little angst.

“That man has the power to bring me to my knees. He's gorgeous, and he wants, and I would do anything to keep him. To make him mine."

Loved this book! Both Teddy and Kipp were wonderful, and they had great chemistry. The book was funny, and hot, and sweet. I loved how the guy brought out the best in the other, and learned to trust and love through their relationship. Kipp with his chaotic ways was especially fantastic.

I enjoyed the light daddy kink, and Teddy showing Kipp how much he enjoyed being a sub. Also really appreciated that Kipp not only didn't have a problem with Teddy doing porn but that he loved watching lol

wahhhhh teddy teddy teddy. kipp kipp kipp. i loved them from the second page istg. teddy wasn’t messing around on page two when he said he wanted to own kipp and from then, bam. i too knew what it was like to be owned by teddy. these mf men were delicious.

i loved their relationship bc it wasn’t a usually daddy dom/boy situation, kipp and teddy both adapted to make their relationship work and god it hit differently to see compromise of eachothers needs in a healthy setting. sometimes reading about healthy relationships slaps hard too. teddy is a pleasure dom and it was sooooo hot the way he identified and unlocked kipps submissive side, like istg. melting moments fr.

i also love nothing more when people stand up to their toxic af families, like !!!!!! so important !!!!!!! i had a great time reading this, kicked my feet and giggled the whole way through, wanted to highlight everything but I think i held back well which is good for me.

teddy + kipp are definitely up there in my top three favourite elite 8 couples alongside mal + henrik !!!! <3

the level of trust i have in this author is unmatched.
she delivers every single time.

if you want a sweet accidental marriage trope with a bit of a kinky side this is for you.

i barely remember about teddy and kipp, but damn i was totally invested by page 2.

i feel like we could’ve gone a bit heavier on the daddy kink, but i think this is her first kinky book so i can let that slide.

i am SO excited for felix.

Well, my favorite of the Elite 8 Series used to be Malibu but Mal and Henrik have been ousted from the top spot by Teddy and Kipp!

These two were so absolutely perfect for each other, if I went into details we would be here all day. I enjoyed every minute of this book. I gushed about it to my husband (who dutifully nodded his head and said all the right ‘yup’ and ‘uh huh’s in the right places’).

Much like Kipp, I didn’t realize I needed a Teddy in my life. The way he cares for Kipp in and out of the bedroom is so beautiful and sexy! And the way Kipp surrenders and gives himself to Teddy was *chefs kiss*. Do I need a Daddy Dom? Questions for another time!

I absolutely loved this book! I can’t express this enough! Read this book! Like now!

Kipp has known Teddy peripherally as he is friends with the Elite 8 crew. He's always fancied him but Teddy has always been distant. After a drunken night celebrating, the two wake up married (they are in Vegas after all).

I actually don't mind this trope and Kipp and Teddy were both great MCs. Kipp was hilarious, especially his reactions to Teddy's body 🤣. He is so overwhelmed by Teddy's 🔥ness and Kipp's chaos and clumsy words just made me lol.

Teddy likes to care for people and he likes control but is scared to let go with Kipp. As the two decide to remain in the marriage for a while, feelings inevitably grow and the dynamic between the two becomes stronger.

As always, the author has done her homework on the type D/s dynamic here and its one of the aspect's of Emmy Sanders' book I never fail to appreciate.

This was a great addition to the series.

---

I confess that the “wake-up-married in Las Vegas” trope is my guilty pleasure and I really liked it here, Teddy and Kipp were fun, I really loved Kipp's personality, despite everything he doesn't lose that smile that characterizes him, that Teddy was what he needed and above all that the two were there for each other. Everything with Teddy's family left me with a bad taste and I wanted a little more revenge but I think in the end it was the best, plus seeing Kipp defending him is the best. I definitely think it is one of the favorites of the entire series.

This book was so sweet and romantic, I didn't expect that when I read the blurb and found out Teddy is a Daddy Dom. He's a true Teddy Bear (like Alex would say), he takes care of Kipp so good and he adores him so much!
Kipp reminded me a little of Alex, he just want to be loved. And Teddy is definitely the right man for that.

What I loved about this story:
Kipp's friendship with Niko: I really liked that they stayed friends through the years, despite their previous arrangement as best friends with benefits. I loved that Dixon is not jealous of him and I loved how Niko's mom and sisters were a family to Kipp too.
Kipp and Teddy's communication about sex dynamic: Kipp was totally unaware of Teddy's preferences and he was always very clear about them and respectful of Kipp's boundaries. I loved that Kipp could let go with Teddy and be happy (in and outside the bedroom).
Teddy's defending Kipp with his family without treating like a child: Teddy would do anything to protect Kipp, but he's also well aware that he's an adult and that he needs to make his own choice. Teddy's support will mean the world to Kipp and it will push to finally take the right decision about his awful family.
Teddy's volunteering at the LGBTQ+ Youth center: I really appreciated that the author holds the attention on these themes.
The Elite 8 Studios performers: they're a tight family and I love their interactions, especially when Alex steals the spotlight.

What I wasn't fond of:
Cameron and Antoni: their story and what they did to Teddy was bad. I liked that Teddy could be able to be finally happy and let go of the past, but the resolution of their situation wasn't satisfying. At least for me.

I wanted a happy ending for Kipp since he appeared in the first book of this series, Dixon, and he had to see his best friend (or bro-friend) Niko falling in love and settling down. I'm very happy Emmy gave him so much love too.
Now, next book will be about Felix, but note for the author: we didn't forget Brad! He needs a Happily Ever After too.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

☆ Drunk wedding
☆ Only one bed
☆ Daddy Dom x Babydoll
☆ A lot of swooning

Kipp and Teddy definitely won my heart. Their marriage was real and heartfelt from the start, nobody can tell me otherwise. Teddy is a wonderful Daddy Dom, always willing to take care of his babydoll. Kipp is my favorite kind of character, bratty, very funny but also sensitive and deserving of love. They made the perfect match. Swoon, swoon, swoon!

There was a lot of family drama but I didn’t mind it, it added depth to the story and helped us understand the characters even more.

Teddy’s porn career wasn’t very important in the story, except that it made Kipp horny lol. If he didn’t work at Elite 8 Studios, it wouldn’t have changed anything and I still don’t really understand why he started to do porn but maybe I missed something.

It was a great read with plenty of emotions, fantastic characters and just the right amount of kink. I loved it!

Another must-read by Emmy Sanders!

1st person, present tense, dual POV.

Teddy (Theodore Maxwell Lavoie) (36), adult film star at Elite 8 Studios
Kipp (Kipling Delaney Lavoie né Mercer ) (29), software development

'Wake Up Married' is one of my least favourite book tropes and so I've put off reading Teddy because of it. Finally, I gave my head a shake because it's Emmy and I both love and trust her writing.

I always have a hard time with the set-up of a 'wake-up married' story and this did feel a little awkward to me but I really liked how the author arranged the forced proximity aspect of this book; it was pretty inspired. Part of why I read romance is to watch the characters get to know and fall in love with each other and I felt like I missed that journey with this book. In its absence we did see a small exploration of a light D/s dynamic in the bedroom, which was fun, but, it came about pretty fast and easy. I enjoyed the Daddy/boy compromise that Teddy and Kipp fell into because the word 'boy' was a little triggering for Kipp. Teddy felt a lot more developed than Kipp and it made me feel some kind of way about their bedroom dynamic at times, but the caretaking was so delightful that I just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

The other guys all make their requisite appearances and the found family vibe was just so wholesome and good, especially the banter.

I really enjoyed this book but found that the main conflict of was not enough to carry the story so I found it dragged a little given the length of the book. The whole "I like him but wonder if he likes me back" aspect of the story got a little tiresome, especially considering the actions of both characters spoke volumes. There wasn't a whole lotta plot to keep the reader engaged There was some external family drama for both characters that played out mostly in the background of the story. I was worried it would cast a pall over the whole relationship but it really didn't, in fact, it was resolved pretty easily, without much fallout or deep conversation.

At the end of the day I enjoy Emmy's writing and loved both Teddy and Kipp, so I was happy to watch them dance around each other for a while before realizing they were both all in. They don't compare to Malibu though and that's what I'm hoping to find when I pick up an Elite 8 book.

4.5 ⭐️ This series is just the best, and I fall in love with all the characters that we are introduced to! Teddy and Kipp's story is no different, and their dynamic is so cute and perfect. After a drunken night, the two men wake up, only to find out they have gotten married by "Elvis" in a Vegas chapel. If you love forced proximity, friends to lovers, dom x sub, protectivness and just love at first sight, this is a must read for you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔥🔥🔥

Teddy and Kipp are super cute from the start. The attraction and sexual chemistry is there on page one.

I loved Kipp so much. Loved his clumsy words, his loyalty and the biggest heart known to man.

Teddy was just as lovable. He certainly lives up to his name and I’ll dream for years about wanting to be held in his strong, supportive arms.

Ms. Sanders certainly did her research on impact play and subspace. I don’t think I’ve ever read such an astute explanation about the ins and outs.

The only thing that was missing for me was a more emotional connection. Emmy has spoiled us with these glorious stories of unbreakable bonds and unending love that I expect it from every book. That’s not fair of me and there’s no reason not to love this book just for its cuteness alone.

I certainly loved it all the sweet lulls and adorable banter.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

This is the fifth book in the Elite 8 Studios series, but can read as a standalone. The wake up married trope is one I really enjoy - and Emmy Sanders definitely does it justice here. Add in the only one bed trope and this book is golden! Kipp is such a sincere person and Teddy is genuinely kind. They are a very well-suited match.

Teddy is 36 and Kipp is 29. I love how Teddy tries to take care of Kipp at a party bus/club and one thing leads to another and Yahtzee! - they wake up married. I actually like that they didn’t really talk to one another (despite being at the same social events and liking one another) prior to getting hitched. It made their growing connection that much sweeter. Sanders drops a bombshell on why Teddy stopped dating prior to accidentally marrying Kipp. (Antoni and Cameron are total dicks). I also love the little mini bomb about Teddy’s other job as well.

This book is full of delicious humor and lots of found family love. I was a big fan of Teddy’s overall disposition. He’s such an easygoing man who is a caretaker at heart, and I love how he goes out of his way to make sure that Kipp is comfortable and feeling okay. Also, I love his “hunter’s instinct.” *wink* Daddy Dom *wink*

Kipp is Niko’s best friend, and a self-proclaimed hot mess, but he’s so lovable it’s adorable. I think it worked out well for him that that he ends up with Teddy as his husband. The BDSM dynamic to their relationship is fitting for them, and I adore how well they work together as a couple. It was cool watching Kipp get on board with being Teddy’s doll.

I loved watching both MCs realize how deep their feelings for each other runs. It was nice knowing they had people in their corner cheering them on (though Kipp’s family is pretty awful). Teddy and Kipp’s HEA is full of love and total acceptance of one another. The epilogue literally made me tear up. Gah! This book is excellent. You should definitely give it a read!
