Allie Blanchard thought the Halloween Bazaar would be all cupcakes, cookies, and community spirit—not confusion and murder. But when a body turns up, Allie and her best friend Lucy dive into the town’s secrets to help crack the case. With her detective husband, Alec, leading the investigation, Allie’s cozy life gets an unexpected and chilling twist.
Cupcakes, costumes, and a corpse? Welcome to Halloween in Sandy Harbor, where the folks are friendly, and the dead bodies are cold.
This was another interesting and enjoyable novel in this really great series. Halloween, family, pumpkin spice everything, and a mystery. While preparing for the annual Halloween Bazaar Allie and Lucy are drawn into a mystery of why someone wanted the captain of the college basketball team dead. They uncover some pretty shocking motives from a rival team player, a faculty member, and even employees from the mayor's office. This was another interesting story with all of the characters we've grown to love. Halloween costumes, fun decorations and lots of treats help round out the story while the two besties unravel clues. A fun read!
It had to seem like deja-vu to Allie when she and Lucy found a body at the Halloween Bazaar since that’s what happened back in the second book of the series. Hearing about another one shortly after was unexpected though. I was pretty surprised by whodunit and hadn’t even had the person in mind as a suspect. I loved what Lucy got to do to the perp at the showdown. Then at the end, Allie and Alec got some fun news from one of her kids.
I love all of her books, and I love this series. I look forward to the holiday books, so I was super excited to get to read the first of the season. It didn't disappoint. These are perfect for those who want light, easy to read, holiday-themed cozies!
