Rate this book
Piers wants his lover Meg back. He's been to her London flat and he knows he finally has her figured out – because he found her secret stash of BDSM material. Meg clearly wants to be mastered, and Piers is determined to be the one to do so. After a breakneck drive to her side, he stakes his claim.

Meg is furious that her ex has cornered her and heads off into the wilds, but Piers is only a whisper behind her. When he captures and cuffs her, she is astonished. Despite her protestations, Meg is wildly aroused by his dominant approach. She's always loved him, and now he is kicking aside the final barrier between them.

Never before has Meg been so liberated, so debauched, or so thoroughly pleasured. Getting her to admit that, however, is his biggest challenge. But Piers is determined, he has patience…and he has an arsenal of bondage equipment to master Meg with.

Saskia is British by birth, but because of her parent's nomadic tendencies she grew up traveling the globe--an only child with a serious book habit. She dreamed of being a writer since the age of 12 and finally began writing seriously in the late 1990s.

Saskia's short stories have now been published in over one hundred international anthologies and magazines including Cosmo, and Bust. In the noughties Saskia started working on longer projects and since then her novels have been published by Penguin and Harlequin as well as other publishing houses. To her absolute delight two of her novels won Passionate Plume awards and her work has twice been nominated for an Romantic Times Magazine Reviewers' Choice Award. Her Witches of Scotland series was widely translated and became a Scandinavian bestseller. In 2015 she became a USA TODAY bestselling author. It's been an amazing journey! Saskia is now a full time author and she has many more stories to tell.

Saskia lives in the north of England, on the beautiful, windswept landscape of the Yorkshire moors, with her real life hero, Mark. Mark supports her work through all its ups and downs, and manages to keep her sane and grounded when fiction threatens to take over.

The reason I requested this ebook was because of the front cover, it immediately drew me in and the description sounded really good...my sort of read.
I didn't realise that this is actually a novella so it's a pretty short read, in my opinion it was too short. I didn't develop a connection to any of the characters which meant that towards the end of the story I didn't really care if any of their problems got resolved.
The description at the beginning was very disappointing as it was actually a summary of the whole story...once you read that there's actually no need to read the book. Overall, it was a good idea, fairly well executed but I've definitely read better.

OK, so I've had my ups and downs with Saskia Walker. This happens to be one of the downs. Not entirely because of the story itself, but I was VERY disappointed that there was NOTHING more to the story than the blurb/summary told us. That was a bit of a let down, because I basically already knew what was going to happen. I also wish we had a little more of the past between Meg and Piers ... their relationship.
The good part of the story was that I actually bought Piers transformation and love of Meg. He found out what the problem was and went out to fix it, guns blazing lol It's a short read, which makes it a little hard for development and execution purposes, but not impossible. Plenty of authors do it. And Saskia HAS done it, just not with this story. :(

Well this one was a bit of a hot kinky little read!

Alone in the Scottish highlands Meg is trying to clear her head enough to get over her ex. Well more of a way to get her to think about whether their split should be permanent. This trip was meant to be something they did together but he promised she could come by herself. Third day in and it looks like he has changed his mind. He has clearly come for his woman with a plan in mind. Just telling her that ‘something’s changed’ is enough to make her worry a bit. Not enough to stop her plan of hiking in the woods – even after his comment that he’d find her. While hiking away she starts to feel that someone is close by so goes off path. Soon she senses him right behind her. She might be shocked that he startled her at first but she is then outraged when he pushes her against a tree so he can handcuff, gag her and then throw her over his shoulder to take her back to the cabin. He said he wanted them to talk and it looks like he’s not taking no for an answer.

Piers thought after a few weeks apart that Meg would come back to him. He always knew she was holding something back but until he saw what she had in her room he never thought it could be something so different. Seems like his woman is into a bit of bondage but felt too scared to tell him. He now knows he needs to show her what she wants to make her see they are meant for each other. Getting her cuffed to a chair back at the cabin so he can get her naked from the waist down to get his mouth on her is a sure way to clue her on that he knows. He not only has to show her he knows but to get her to admit what she really wants from him because once she lets go and admits it the real fun can begin.

Being submissive is something Meg has wanted but didn’t know how to brooch, I’m thinking she is now very glad she left those magazines out on her bed. Now she can have it all, the man she loves taking control when she needs him to. Not that he’s complaining!

Mastering Meg is a short, sweet and sexy novella that I enjoyed reading. It tells the story of a couple who split up, but are still deeply in love with each other. Piers attempts to win back Meg after he discovers she ended their relationship because she is ashamed of her need to submit. This was the first book I've read by Saskia Walker and I really liked her writing style, the story flowed well and was easy to read.

I liked both characters, the love between them was clear to see and they were clearly meant to be together. Piers was so accepting of Meg's need to submit and he was determined to be what she needed. He has a naturally dominant personality, which was probably what initially attracted Meg to him, so Piers easily adapted to the role of her Master. Piers was completely devoted to Meg - she is one lucky girl to have such a loving, caring man in her life.

Meg is an interesting character. In her life she has to be in control and is borderline OCD, yet she longs to submit to a powerful man. She struggles to come to terms with this, and can't bring herself to discuss it with Piers which is why she ended the relationship. I loved her reactions to Piers' domination, the heat between them sizzled from the pages.

My only gripe is that I wish this book was a bit longer so we could learn more about Meg and Piers, and delve deeper into their relationship. I would have loved the story to have started before the initial relationship breakdown, so I could have connected more to the characters and become more invested in their relationship.

Overall this is a good lighthearted read which gets four out of five stars.

Piers wants his women back and he will do what ever its going to take. Meg has run away from Piers frustrated by him and his lack of understanding of her. She has decided to go to there cabin that they previously had reserved together when they were still a couple. Piers decides that he is going to break into her apartment and tell her how much he still cares about her and he is going to prove it. But what he finds is there is evidence of a passionate lifestyle that she has been hiding from him that she truly desires

What little does she know is that Piers very much so would love to entertain this type of lovemaking with her and he cant believe she has been hiding it from him. He decides he is going to show up at the cabin and he is going to make her understand one way or another that he is in love with her and he wants to be her lover and partner for the rest of her life and he would love to share it with her to include all of her desires. Even the ones that she has been previously scare to talk about

I really enjoyed this book . I feel like it touches on a real point in all relationships that at times it hard to talk about all your darkest desires and wishes because you are worried you maybe judged. Even though most partners are very supportive. I thought this book has a good moral to the story behind it.

I highly recommend it to all readers want to read a story of a man fighting for the women he loves.

I didn't realise this was a novella when I requested Mastering Meg. It was the cover that had me drawn to the book and it sounded like a hot read.

Whilst it was an okay read, I did find myself getting bored. I'm usually a fan of novellas because they give me a chance to read around my busy schedule. However, this one was ruined for me by the fact everything was given away in the description. Like I said, I didn't know this was a novella so I thought there'd be more story--there wasn't--than the description gave away. I felt this let down what could have been an enjoyable read.

Like with most novellas you don't really get to know the characters. You get a sense of their personality, and learn about little quirks with offhanded comments, but in 60 pages it's not easy to create a bond. I wanted to be drawn into their relationship, but there wasn't enough about them.

The change in this story was interesting to read as it played out. Pier did come across as in control, and I got the sense he did love Meg. I will admit I've read hotter books and I felt it lacked in description, but maybe that's down to the blurb again.

Overall whilst it was an okay read I didn't find it held my attention. I was expecting more and it didn't live up to that.

Lea’s Review:

Saskia Walker is a wonderful author and I always love reading her stories. Mastering Meg is no exception; it is a fun to read, feel-good short story. The characters are strong, clear and vibrant, and there is a moral to the story that is illustrated in a most exciting manner.

The difficulty I have had in attempting to write a review of Mastering Meg is not due to a problem with the story itself, but with the summary. This short story is about 30 pages in length and the four paragraph summary above gives away the plot, the characters and even the location that make it plausible that the scenario of the story could play out successfully.

The author gets high marks for writing an interesting and enjoyable story. Whoever wrote the summary does not.

The play is not bad but it seems to me that there's no real indication or insinuation that Piers knows what he's doing or that it would work long term. It's more like a novice couple trying a few things which doesn't really speak much to the "need" that Meg had to leave Piers to fulfill.
Yeah, he's willing to try but long term, will it be enough? Nothing I read really told me it would be so I'd consider this a HFN. If you don't really read too much onto the scenes, it's a hot read for sure. Points for the sexy.

Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review. Short quick novella that was interesting and steamy at times but for me it was just okay. You have a couple that spit up without Meg really telling Pier the truth on why. Communication in the beginning seemed to be an issue. It was like Meg was embarrassed by her desires but wouldn't tell him. He finds out by snooping. I did think Meg and Pier loved each other just thought something was missing. Like was Pier hiding being dominate or just decided to be one? Overall it was an okay read.

At 30 something pages, I think the book is overpriced, but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though it barely sizzles in the sensuality department, I love Meg and Piers. (I'm just a sucker for people who struggle with sharing their BDSM needs with their partners.) Though Meg has told Piers what she wanted, she treaded around the subject so that he didn't really understand what she really wanted. I loved the way Piers is willing to act as a dom for Meg and found it really sweet.

Smoking hot story of a couple recently broken up, and how he gets her back. What made it interesting wasn't the D/s dynamic he added, although that was incredibly hot, it was the absolute love and devotion he had for her. You could really see how it was a way to show how much he loved her. And it was exactly what she needed but had been unable to voice.

Great super hot short story. It was really short but right to the point but it made sense. These two were so cute together. I loved how understanding he was in this book and how he would do anything to get her back. It also shows what we all know a relationship needs communication. And great sex helps.

A short tale of romance that comes to a conclusion halfway through the story. There is a little build-up to the confrontation between Meg and Piers which leaves this reader unhappy with the written conclusion because the conflict is too quickly resolved. Only a decent read.

I liked it, however I wished it had been a bit longer, I wanted to know a bit more about the characters and their choices. Over all, the story is entertaining and sexy.
