The BullyShe's off limits. My friend's little sister. Too innocent, too dumb. Until that party, when I took what no one else had. But now she follows me around. So sad, desperate, perfect. Other men try to poison her little mind. Steal her from my bed. I won't let them, though. And if she strays, I'll chain her to the she's mine.
The PigI'm a hopeless romantic, waiting for my hero... hoping he likes losers. Too thick, too plain, too much of a spaz. But one night, my bully undressed, and I forgot how to breathe. I thought love felt safe. But his hands bruise, his words cut deep. Now, I'm trapped, wanting to escape, yet dreading if I do.
This is a dark romance. Please read Author's Note for trigger warnings!
Endley Tyler writes over-the-top, pitch-black dark romance for readers who like their love stories toxic, obsessive, and impossible to put down.
Her books are intense, taboo, fast-paced, and unapologetically messy, featuring morally gray men, damaged heroines, possessive obsession, jealousy, dominance, danger, and relationships that should probably come with warning labels.
If you like dark romance that pushes limits, ruins your sleep, and makes you question your own standards, welcome home.
Endley Tyler, you’ve done it again!! Holy shit this was something 😮💨😮💨😮💨
She did not come around to play..
RTC in the morning!! If you enjoyed Pretty Ugly Girl, read this asap.
Some more thoughts:
One of my top dark romance reads of 2025! The author is on Wattpad? And it shows because the writing is smutastic. In the very beginning, it feels like a faint echo of Pretty Ugly Girl, but it quickly becomes its own thing.
Sometimes, when you read a beloved author, you can see they are writing similar stories with different focuses or what if they did Y instead of X? I really like seeing this, and I also like it when they decide to write something completely new.
I love this type of hero and heroine that is so unique to Tyler. And maybe it’s because I grew up on Drew Barrymore rom coms, but the secondhand embarrassment I have for the heroine, at least early on in the novel, is just my level of discomfort. It’s meant to show her position in life but what I like about it is that it gives us a little bit of angst, and while the heroine may feel hurt but she is hopeful and keeps fighting. Idk the heroine gets treated so harshly but it’s clear the author loves her characters based on how the story unfolds.
What was similar to Pretty Ugly Girl: a dumb but determined heroine. I loved her! Yes she was dumb but she was honest and true to herself. So I respect her lack of game. She matured through the story by taking steps to work on herself and get a better job, which I also enjoyed about Pretty Ugly Girl. The physical changing of her appearance always makes the hero irrationally jealous and possessive which a sick part of me loves 😂
The hero too was the more popular one in high school and conventionally attractive. The author is really good at making the reader understand why he becomes so obsessed with her. His backstory is well-done. Usually, a hero can have a traumatic past and the reader can tell it is clearly to give an explanation as to how messed up he is. But here I *felt* that shit. I love when authors make me think about how his past showed up in not only his nasty side but also his loving side.
The hero was so kinky and I wish there was MORE. There was one scene in particular that I really hoped he did lose control as he was saving her 🙈
I understood why the hero, despite disparaging her or thinking she is “dumb” or “desperate”, in spite of these opinions, eventually becomes obsessed with her.
Even the OW drama was interesting! And it made so much sense her draw over him at the end, not going to say more except it is clear the hero doesn’t like the OW, but the power she has over him is satisfactorily explained in the end.
Thank you so much for writing this!! Please write more dark romances like this ❤️❤️❤️
Also if you don’t like it, this wasn’t for you. Acknowledge that and move on.
When “Dark Romance” Becomes the Romanticization of Abuse
I had to pause before writing this review, because the problem with this book is not just weak storytelling, it is the normalization of cruelty and psychological self-destruction under the label of romance.
The female protagonist, Charlotte, is one of the most troubling heroines I have encountered in recent fiction. She is written as a woman who repeatedly accepts humiliation, violence, and exploitation and the narrative frames this as devotion rather than dysfunction.
Characterization: A Heroine Without Self-Preservation
Charlotte’s behavior throughout the book defies basic psychological realism. She remains emotionally attached to Greyson despite:
Being publicly mocked and body-shamed
Being spat on
Knowing he raped another woman (Meghan)
Watching him fail to protect her when she is nearly gang-raped
At no point does the narrative allow Charlotte genuine anger, fear, or self-preservation. Instead, her response to danger is apology, loyalty, and emotional submission. This is not resilience, it is erasure of agency, and it is written without consequence or critique.
The Male Lead: Dark Hero or Excuse for Violence?
Greyson is marketed as a “dark grey hero,” but he lacks the moral ambiguity that makes such characters compelling. His cruelty is not paired with accountability, growth, or internal conflict. He is described as a sadist who gains sexual pleasure from hurting women, and his trauma is used as a justification rather than an explanation.
His hatred toward women, his exploitation of Meghan for money and filmed sexual violence with her, and his complete emotional irresponsibility are never meaningfully challenged by the narrative. The story insists he does not change yet still demands the reader accept him as a pathetic lead.
This is not darkness. This is unexamined misogyny presented as erotic complexity.
Handling of Sexual Violence: Careless and Disturbing
One of the most serious flaws of this book is how it handles sexual violence each time. Charlotte nearly being gang-raped should have been a turning point, psychologically and narratively. Instead, the event is brushed aside, not one but each time whenever she got attacked by greyson or any other men. She recovers with unrealistic speed, shows little trauma response, and immediately redirects her emotional energy toward pleasing Greyson.
Later scenes or chapter involving kidnapping, forced bodily control, staged sexual humiliation, and coercion are framed as punishment or passion rather than abuse. Consent becomes meaningless, and the narrative offers no ethical reflection on what it portrays.
Romance Without Transformation
The author claims that Greyson never changes, but that he loves Charlotte. This is a contradiction the book never resolves. Love without respect, safety, or accountability is not love, it is possession and dirtiest thing ever.
Charlotte’s attraction to Greyson remains intact regardless of betrayal, abandonment, or cruelty and his nasty sadistic behaviour and past incidents. This creates a relationship dynamic where endurance replaces intimacy and suffering replaces connection.
Final Thoughts
This book does not explore dark romance, it endorses emotional and physical abuse while refusing to interrogate its consequences. Both protagonists remain static, trapped in a cycle of violence and submission that the narrative rewards rather than condemns.
Instead of tragic depth, the story delivers toxic repetition. Instead of growth, it offers obsession. Instead of romance, it sells despair as devotion.
Readers deserve better than being asked to confuse endurance with love.
Rating: 1⭐ Not because the book is “too dark,” but because it is too careless with harm.
This is a dark romance. First: My bullies are real bullies. The kind who break you down, and make you like it. If that’s your kind of spice, welcome home. This book is intense, filthy, and full of characters who don’t play by any rules but their own. It’s fast-paced, emotionally brutal, and soaked in heat. There’s no moral high ground here. Just obsession, chaos, and surrender.
Triggers: This book contains heavy themes including noncon and dubcon, body and slut shaming, physical and verbal abuse, drug and alcohol use, kidnapping, bullying, death, grief, and explicit violence.
Tropes: Bully romance, touch-her-and-die, grumpy/sunshine, dark golden retriever, dirty little secret, hopeless bad boy, and virgin heroine.
Spice Level: 5/5
Closing thoughts: She was pretty spot on with letting us readers know the crazy ride we were in for.
4 stars (I’m as surprised as whoever’s reading this lmao)
I was more than slightly intrigued when I read the title and saw the cover, but one of the my friends on here who gives great dark romance recs said this was really well done, and it was. I don’t think this is going to be for everyone, as it’s got heavy humiliation and bully themes, but it also has a GREAT possessive MMC. That’s my number one criteria for a dark romance 🥰
I also really enjoyed how the author let the reader into the MMC’s and FMC’s headspace(s). I liked how she showed both of their insecurities towards themselves and their relationship.
Warning that there is big other woman drama, but the MMC isn’t into her at all. It also is a big part of the story. She gets her just desserts by the end (in the most insane way possible, bordering on dark comedy really).
I’m glad that I tried this author again as I wasn’t a super big fan of her MMC in her book Pretty Ugly Girl, who is pretty abhorrent in terms of dark romance MMCs.
Looks like they have a Wattpad and Inkitt where they try different stories out with their readers. It’s always good to see an author who is willing to take feedback from their audience.
This is my second Endley Tyler book and it’s ending up with no stars because I still don’t know how to rate this book. It’s very hard to read a book when the men are so misogynistic and sexist, and the women are literal doormats but when they decide to do something, it’s the most stupid thing one could do. The overall book is very cringe, the FMC dialogue, the MMC dialogue, inner monologues etc. Yet I still sit here and read half the book and skimmed the rest🤦♀️
The only character I liked was Atticus and he’s deserves the world (that does not include Charlotte and Brax as his siblings).
Also, she found out he raped a girl and then proceed on the same day to tell him she loved him???! Girl wtf
Really enjoyed this good girl / bad boy story. The character development was excellent, with Charlotte coming into her own from an extremely sweet and naive young and sheltered girl to much stronger and more confident though still sweet and tenacious. Rowen Grayson was the bad boy who felt he didn't deserve the good girl of his friend. He had a dark and intriguing past.
Lots of other woman drama, which I liked, especially since Grayson was so into Charlotte. Great jealousy: Grayson was so possessive of Charlotte.
The story was a little twisty, turny, almost as if it didn't know where it wanted to go. Multiple climatic scenes with the expectation of denouement, but nope, there's still more. Even so, I still really liked it.
Great pace and very steamy as is this author's style. Loved the scene with Grayson tied up. Also, I loved the characters. Great diversity and mix.
It's lightly dark because of Grayson's darkness and background as well as surrounding bad people characters, but also sweet. An entertaining read.
Second book by this author and I really wanted to like it cause I loved loved loved the first one but OMG COME ON MAN Piggy have to be the most clueless person alive ugh!!! She pissed me off soooooo much I thought she learned her lesson with the phone call but nooooo the freaking van scene almost made me DNF ugh I freaking HATE HER!!! I’m off to read another book by this author 🤞🏾🤞🏾
2 stars. Well, this was…dark. The heroine, Charlotte, was absolutely pathetic, and the hero, Grayson, was not really a hero. He was a horrible person. I’m ngl though, it was interesting when he had to live at the house with Charlotte and her 2 brothers. It was intriguing before it went to shit with the gang and porn cam bullshit.
I’m honestly still sitting here thinking about what the hell I just read because this book is one of those books where I kept asking myself why I was still reading while simultaneously refusing to put it down. Charlotte aka Piggy starts out so sweet and sheltered. She has this innocence about her that made me want to shake her a little and tell her to stand up for herself. Then I watched her slowly become more confident and find her own strength. She still feels like herself while growing into someone who knows her worth a little more.
🚩 Then we have Grayson. 🤦🏻♀️ Lord help me with this man.
He is obsessive. Possessive. Controlling. Jealous. Completely unhinged. Basically every red flag decided to get together and create one fictional man. There were so many moments where I was sitting there thinking Charlotte really needs to run and then turning the page because obviously I needed to know what this man was going to do next. And no. Before anyone asks. I am NOT saying Grayson is boyfriend material. Real life Grayson would have me changing my name and moving to another state. Fictional Grayson though? Unfortunately my brain understands the assignment.
Their relationship is incredibly toxic and messy. There are moments that genuinely made me uncomfortable and moments where I questioned some of Charlotte’s choices. But there was also something about their dynamic that kept pulling me back in. I wanted to understand Grayson. I wanted to see what was underneath all that anger and darkness and I wanted to see whether Charlotte would eventually find enough strength to stop letting everyone else define her. I also really liked Atticus. He was such a bright spot in a book where basically everyone else needed several years of therapy. His relationship with Kyesha was one of those little parts that made me genuinely happy.
Brax? Absolutely not. Meghan? Also absolutely not.
I will be keeping my mouth shut about both because some of that chaos is much more fun when you discover it yourself. There were definitely things that didn’t work perfectly for me. Charlotte could sometimes come across a little too naive or childish and there were moments where the story felt like it was going in one direction before suddenly throwing another problem at me. There were also parts of the relationship that were genuinely difficult to read. But somehow I kept reading. That is probably the most honest thing I can say about this book.
This book is not giving you a cute little romance where everyone communicates their feelings and makes healthy decisions. Absolutely not. These people are making questionable decisions left and right and I was just sitting there watching the disaster unfold like I had front row seats. There is a lot underneath all the darkness too. Insecurity. Trauma. Obsession. Self worth. The need to feel wanted. The need to believe you are worthy of being loved.
And the spice? Yeah. There is plenty of that too.
🚨 PLEASE check the trigger warnings before reading this one. Seriously. This is not your typical dark romance. This is pitch black dark romance and it deals with some extremely heavy subjects including bullying, humiliation, emotional and psychological abuse manipulation, violence, coercive situations, sexual content and other potentially upsetting themes. This is absolutely not a relationship to use as a real life example of what love should look like. This is fiction and it is dark fiction at that.
Did I question my sanity while reading it? Yes. Did I question Charlotte’s decisions? Constantly. Did I keep turning the pages anyway because I needed to know what happened next? Unfortunately yes. And honestly that might be the most Piggy thing about my reading experience.
Final Thoughts: this is, messy. Toxic. Uncomfortable. Addictive. Definitely not for everyone but if you like your dark romance with morally questionable men and relationships that make you stare at the page thinking “girl…what are we doing?” then this might be your kind of chaos.
Welp! It’s definitely a dark bully romance, if not erring on the side of darkest, I suppose it depends upon your own point of view. I have read a lot darker/pitch with similar abusive behaviour.
Endley makes no excuses as to how dark this is and you should most definitely read the trigger warnings, it has been banned on some platforms. For me, I read it, did I enjoy it? It’s a difficult one to determine, as there is intense abuse, bullying, gaslighting, controlling, obsessive/possessive behaviour to name a few throughout the book. Given the title you can guess that’s the nickname given the FMC Charlotte, who is already insecure with her figure but Grayson apparently likes that side of her however, he has secrets, dark ones, he’s a felon the reasons are in the book and I won’t go into it.
At times it was a hard read due to the fact you want the FMC to grow a pair 🤣 but it’s a story, it’s fiction, it’s designed to be this dark and some readers will read it for what it is, others will take it on board and feel it helps them come to terms with abuse they have suffered. I will not yuk on someone else’s yam, we like what we like and that’s fine. I found it flowed well, it gave us what the author wanted within the parameters of the storyline.
Non Con/Dub Con | SA | Captivity | Punishment | Forced Grooming. | Body Marking | Violence | Manipulation | Shaming | Substance Abuse | Morally Black MC
Banished to the realms of DNF. I did not anticipate this "bully" romance to be a brown couch casting for the most devoted doormat in existence. Bye bitch 👋🏼
Did I like the way this was written? No Spice? I mean it was there There were some lines where I thought this wasn’t so bad… There was just a lot going on, but it was okay overall.
adding 5 more ⭐'s 🤯🥵🥵👀🥵🥵👀🤯 omg I phucking loved it Grayson is so .... Charlotte ... yes please ! i was addicted to every page of this book, i enjoyed every steamy moment they had, i love how hard they loved each other especialy him in his own way,
this book is not for pansies out there, those of with a back bone will love every moment !
NOTE: THE FIRST HALF OF THIS REVIEW IS NOT INCLUDING THE NONSENSE THAT OCCURS IN THE LAST 100 PAGES. I want to start off by saying, for a book that was intended to be a bully romance, there wasn't THAT MUCH bullying. He kept calling her Piggy, which...is a stupid nickname, tbh. Had he called me Piggy, I would have quietly poisoned Grayson's pre-workout smoothie. I don't know if he drinks those, he just seems like the type. I liked some of the romance between Charlotte and Grayson, and even found some of it to be endearing and sweet. However, I was not very fond of Charlotte's personality. The author establishes that she is 21 years old, but she constantly behaves, and is treated like, she is a 14 year old. She was TOO excited to see Grayson and constantly fawning over him. She was also somewhat helpless and naive. This was probably on purpose, I just wished she had grown less so. I would have like to see stolen quiet glances and longer instances of pining (the book was 400 pages, the author could have easily added this). Perhaps, they could have gone on a date/picnic/something outside of bedroom action. I will admit, I did like Grayson AT TIMES. For being an obsessed bully, he was very open about his feelings for Charlotte. He wasn't TOO possessive. He was jealous for the right reasons and at appropriate times. I DID NOT like that he was still in communication and interacting with the woman he sexually assaulted (and the reason why he was in prison). That was weird. I will get more into this in the second half. The plot was intriguing in a way. There were some interesting moments and good sprinkles of drama amongst all of the spice. I would have liked more time spent on showing the sibling relationship between Charlotte and Atticus, but this is a bully romance, not a family drama. I will emphasize that I thought the not-brother that Charlotte picked up from prison would be a more prominent character as it could have added an intriguing inner turmoil for Grayson. Could he shake off his past (not-brother guy), redeem himself, and look to the future (with Charlotte)? The time jumps were fine, I guess. The adult entertainment industry is heavily featured as a career option. I wondered at times if OnlyFans paid for the shoutouts. However, in this hustle economy, a source of income is a source of income. The book was a somewhat nice little dark romance...until the last 100 pages of the book. SECOND PART: The entire book starts to unravel when Grayson is sent to prison. After some basic attempts to fight to free Grayson, Charlotte discovers that he was a convicted rapist. She is surprised by this, which is a little weird, considering this was already revealed earlier in the book. Apparently, she didn't think he was serious. She also discovers that he hates women because of his mother. Classic. Now she is afraid and disgusted by him. Charlotte visits him in prison. They get into a argument and she says she hates him and they break up. A time jump later mysterious masked figures break into Charlotte's home and she is kidnapped. She wakes up in a room and is chained up. Surprise, surprise Grayson is the kidnapper. He's gone "crazy" without her. Can't live without her, so he decides to force her to be with him. As part of her punishment for disrespecting him or whatever, he forces her to get a Brazilian wax and tattoos his name on her legs. True love? He also makes her believe that she is being recorded for adult entertainment, while forcing her to sleep with him. Guess who is helping him out? Meghan, the woman who sent him to prison. Apparently, she's super crazy and loves Grayson for some reason. However, yada yada yada, she tries to kill Charlotte and fails. I don't recall if Meghan dies. Sorry. I honestly thought this part was some sort of elaborate ruse. It's not. It's real (in the context of the book). I also don't remember the ending of the book, because I was so flabbergasted by the outrageous, out of left field twist. It felt like the author needed to pad out the book and tacked on a reworked rough draft of a fanfiction. Here's how I would have written the last 100 pages (it will be full of cliches, but IDGAF) 1- Charlotte and Grayson have a little kerfuffle in the visitation room. She leaves and tries to build back her life. 2- Not-brother begins to show up and intimidate Charlotte at her place of employment. 3- Grayson and Charlotte's incarcerated brother (not Atticus) get wind of this from one of their sources on the outside, so they stage a prison break. While they are doing this, Charlotte is abducted and held hostage by not-brother 4- Not-brother teases her and monologues or whatever. Then he makes the mistake of calling her Piggy. This triggers her and she screams "no one calls me Piggy!" and hits him with a blunt object. 5- When Grayson and incarcerated brother reach her, not-brother is already defeated (maybe dead) and they are impressed that Charlotte had it in her to fight and almost kill someone. 6- Everyone goes to therapy.
Honestly, I enjoyed reading this book. It was kinda fun and quick. I wanted to rate it 2.5, but Goodreads doesn't allow that.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
3.6 看完这本我再也不想看贫穷主角的dr了,男主为了还债要去直播拍片啊喂(虽然最后没去。后面日夜卖苦力供女主读书和替女主还房贷、得空了还要担心女主被外面的野男人勾跑了也是蛮心酸的😅 I have a complicated feeling about this book, cause the relationship is so toxic in a realistic way that sometimes it made me uncomfortable. But I still enjoyed it. I found the dynamics between mcs were interesting even though toxic. mmc is ott jealous possessive and secretly thought he didn’t deserve fmc and always fear she would leave him for a better guy one day.
the stupidest bitch you'll ever fucking meet like genuinely this girl was so fucking embarrassing and stupid i could barely bear it. sometimes they were sexy and other times this was so bad it was good. idek how i feel idk man. as a fat girl id rather die than have a man call me a fat pig to my face and then beg him to fuck me. but maybe that's just me. idk man. he had his sexy moments but she was always a dumb bitch. i think i enjoyed the book IDEK I RLLY DONT.
Made it 29% and had to DNF it🤦🏽♀️ The characters are so fucking annoying.
Charlotte is just all the way goofy, and the way she CONSTANTLY lets him put her down and humiliates her in front of people even after she tells him she doesn’t like that. That should be an immediate turn off for someone. Why would you want a man like this? Okay, if you like it in the bedroom then by all means do you, but around people? It’s not sexy at all. It just shows how little you love and respect yourself.
I can’t continue reading about her hating her body, and relying on MEN to try to convince her she’s beautiful. It’s pathetic and annoying. Stand up girl. Please. The last thing she needs is a damn boyfriend, girl start your self love journey and stop waiting on men to tell you are beautiful. She’s a complete doormat who acts like a child.
The MMC is a loser. He’s unlikable asf, I don’t like the way he speaks to her at all, it’s a major turn off, and makes me want to kick him down a flight of steps. I didn’t find him attractive or cute. Just immature and a bitch.
Both MCs are extremely unlikable. The writing didn’t hit for me either. I really tried to read more but god it’s so frustrating. The only one I don’t dislike is Atticus, I didn’t see him much but we cool lol.
This book felt like watching a train wreck in slow motion … horrible, chaotic, and somehow still hard to look away from. It’s messy in every sense of the word. The pacing is weird, the editing needed help, and there were multiple moments where I literally stopped and went “what the actual hell am I reading?” 😭
But once it gets going? It becomes weirdly addictive. Not because it’s polished or amazingly written, but because it fully commits to the chaos and makes you uncomfortable enough that you need to see what happens next. And trust me … this book is uncomfortable. Sometimes in an effective way, sometimes in a “why are we doing this” way. Either way, it got a reaction out of me.
I didn’t love it. I didn’t hate it. It just somehow existed in this strange middle ground where I was annoyed, disturbed, entertained, and invested all at the same time.
*Definitely read the trigger warnings. And maybe don’t go in with expectations 😅
well this wasn't worth my time the fmc is 21 and a complete fucking child, acting like one and wearing pigtails and throwing tantrums instead of communicating - after that rushing to her room - door slammed like a kid at 21?? Fmc also TOTAL dormat , story made no sense. always crawling back to mmc. the sex parts weren't bad tho, sad the story and fmc was. I think the book also wasn't really dark tho , just the particles made no sense. (mostly the mmc and fmc's brother bullying her)
Read this after Pretty Ugly Girl, hoping it would be better. Big nope. The storyline was all over the place and didn’t make sense most of the time. I don’t hate the author’s way of writing, so there’s that.
What in the wattpad did I just read? This was awful. Written terribly. JFC. I was shaking my head the entire time. Idk understand the other reviews. Did we not read the same fucking book?
Toxic. Obsessive. Possessive. Messy as HELL. And somehow I could not put this damn book down.
Charlotte—aka Piggy—and Grayson have one of the most toxic relationships I’ve read in a while. Grayson isn't just possessive of Charlotte; This man is OBSESSED with her. He bullies her, wants to control her, and absolutely cannot stand the thought of anyone else having her attention. 🚩🚩🚩 He is basically a walking red flag factory.
But here's where I'm probably going to expose myself a little bit...
There were parts of Grayson and his particular brand of toxicity that I could actually relate to—and dare I say, even enjoy. Listen, I never claimed to be your everyday, normal reader. I'm a little twisted, my fictional red-flag tolerance is apparently through the damn roof, and this book is absolutely my kind of read. Some people are going to look at Grayson and scream RUN. Meanwhile, I'm over here highlighting passages like, "Well...I see the appeal." 🤷♀️🚩
That doesn't make Charlotte and Grayson's relationship any less toxic. IT IS. That's part of what made it so damn addictive. Their relationship is tangled up in obsession, jealousy, possession, cruelty, and this desperate need they seem to have for one another. I kept thinking “Girl, you should probably run...” immediately followed by “But don't run yet because I need to see what this man does next.”
And then there’s Megan. 🙄 BITCH. She had me irritated more than once, but Megan and Grayson have a sordid history of their own. I'm not touching that one because you need to experience that mess for yourself.
Endley Tyler somehow took characters and a relationship that are completely dysfunctional and made them impossible to stop reading. Piggy isn't trying to give you a healthy romance wrapped in a pretty bow. It's dark, uncomfortable, obsessive, possessive, and unapologetically toxic.
And apparently that's exactly how I like my fictional men. 🚩🖤 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Spice: 5/5
