Greatly enjoyed these short stories! The second story is by far the most gruesome but they all were good. Full of suspense, gore, and left me saying 'what the f@ck'

I would like to thank Matthew Salinas for a copy of this collection in exchange for an honest review.
Matthew Salinas is one of my favorites when it comes to outrageous, bloody, and far-out-there horror. Every time I pick up one of his short stories or novellas I know I am going to be in for a wild ride. I have previously read Beyond Repair, and rereading it just brought back all the love I had for the story.
In Beyond Repair, you are able to offer up your body as collateral when it comes to repaying your loan. It sounds like a good idea until you wake up with repo men all around you ready to collect. If you’ve seen Repo: The Genetic Opera, you might be familiar with this idea.
In Shed, a guy wakes up strapped to a chair in a shed. The man who has him tied up thinks that he is the one who killed his daughter in a drunk-driving accident and plans on taking it out on this man. Unknown to either of them, there is a higher power at play.
In Scream, a man infiltrates a cult in order to earn a passing grade in his college class. When he shows up at the gathering, he realizes that this cult is all too real, and the thing they are worshiping wants everyone to scream.
Each story was unique and interesting, standing on its own. Salinas has a way of drawing the reader in and keeping them on the edge of their seats. He is able to do with so few pages what many authors try to do in whole novels. His prose is almost lyrical, and makes reading his stories a wonderful experience.
If you like quick, brutal horror, you will need to pick up Far From Home by Matthew Salinas. Excuse me while I go and read all his other work.
