Grace Harper has always been an outsider—raised in a wolf pack that never truly accepted her, adopted by an alpha with too many secrets. When her ex-boyfriend leaves her for his mate and the truth of her adoption comes to light, Grace knows she has to leave… or die trying.
But her path to freedom slams into the Lycan King.
Cold, powerful, and burdened by the ghosts of a past he refuses to share, Caine doesn’t want Grace in his world. He doesn’t believe she belongs in any world but her own. And yet, with fate tethering their souls, his control begins to crack.
Grace never asked for his protection. She never asked to want him, either.
But something ancient is waking, and the deeper she dives into the truth of her past, the more she maybe she was never meant to be free. Maybe she was meant to change everything.
The overall story is good. 🤩 A little slow, but good. 🧐 I don't like the fact that part 2 isn't out, and I'm not paying all that money for WebNovel. 😠 I don't even think I'm going to keep spending $10 for each book. 🙄 Just maybe if the book had been available and I didn't have to go looking for it, I would've considered it, but now not so much, especially when I pay for Kindle Unlimited. 💰
P.S. You have a lot of people interested in your read. 👍 But WebNovel is a rip-off. 😡 You'll gain more people with a reasonable price or give the option for Kindle. 📚
WARNING: Series is not completely on Amazon, just first two books then it tries to get you to go to webnovel and pay an arm and a leg for the rest.
Story had potential, but was repetitive and slow. Characters were boring and predictable, the heroine was a complete moron, the H was also an idiot, just everyone involved had juvenile levels of communication, which makes me nervous that the H was a King. IDK how he manages to get anything done. Finished book 1 and NOTHING is answered or explained or makes sense and the H still hasn't admitted the h is his mate, h still hasn't reached beyond a 4th grade IQ and realized that he's obviously into her. No sex, one random, abrupt fingering scene. I may have read book 2 if it was the end, but fortunately I discovered before purchasing it, it's NOT the end, instead it just drags on indefinitely on webnovel. Wish we had decent werewolf romances on Amazon that were similar to PPC without all the unnecessary bloat.
Eigentlich ist die Story ganz interessant Der Start ist Crazy Aber dann wird es schon sehr langweilig… Der cliffhanger ist kake aber davor wird man sogar am Anfang gewarnt was wirklich ein Ehren move ist😎
Joa hab mir Buch 2 direckt gekauft… Bin bei Kapitel 3 und denke mir War schon bisschen unnötig Najaaaa ich werde es schon noch lesen Das Buch endet aber auch mit einem cliffhanger…
This book was everything I did not want: funny, with stupid protagonists (but smart writing!🤗), fated mates. I loved it; I needed this as a break from my real passion: dark fantasy or contemporary romance.
Let’s talk about the Romance ❤️: ⁃ It’s 80% or so of the plot ⁃ Captive and oblivious human FMC ⁃ Murderous, Obsessive, Rejecting MMC ⁃ Sex at the end for that HEA
Grace: She spent 6 years as an adopted, almost pampered princess of the alpha for a decent-sized pack. She meets his wolf after waking up in the mating games in the woods. Her boyfriend rejects her when he finds his mate, and she is suddenly a pariah. But when the idea of a fated mate occurs, she absolutely has no clue. I do like the plot complication of dealing with her ex while attempting to grapple with going from one prison (her old pack) to a new one (her fated’s pack).
“There’s also a full half of my brain still grappling with the idea I’m somehow marked by a psychopathic wolf-king who smells like he should be an underwear model and looks like a mobster. He said mine, but he doesn’t treat me like I am.”
“Look at me, already over Rafe. Maybe trauma is good for something after all.”
Cain: Definitely a surly, conflicted man. His claim to fame is his strength, not his brains. I like his beta more, because his beta takes care of business in a friendly, gigolo style. What makes this special is the interaction between Cain and his wolf. I have never seen such a good relationship when two personalities share the same body, which is what most wolf shifters really have. I prefer the wolf being just preferences and part of the single personality, normally. Cain’s wolf, though, acts as the voice of reason to counter Cain’s enthusiasm for killing any opposition...or anything that annoys him. Except Grace, of course. She smells like blueberry muffins. He doesn’t like blueberry muffins. I laughed hard over this. The idea that smell mimics something from his past is exciting. It’s not woodsy, smokey, or an autumn breeze; it’s something his mom probably made and he got sick from it. LOL.
Anyway, if you love a good shifter/human romance and don’t mind the play on fated mates, this is fabulous. There is a twist at the end, but I treated it as a standalone.
Great pacing at first, interesting story, really hot, and surprisingly funny at times! Though the FMC was almost too dumb to live for a bit there, I really loved how the MMC was so gone for her while fighting against it, and how they came together. Also Lyre is amazing; I love when supporting characters are so fun to read.
“My bare skin connects with his. My intelligence retires. My body sells its soul.”
“Need this," he says, grazing his teeth against my skin. "Need you." Caine inhales deeply, over and over, like a drowning man finally breaking the surface. Each breath sounds desperate and ragged.
As I kept reading, though, it started to get more convoluted in world-building (while aiming to seem mysterious, though there were some elements of mystery and discovery— just not quite fleshed out enough or grounded in the characters’ interactions/relationships enough) and restrictions on the FMC and MMC kind of halted their relationship development— it would’ve been better if they at least prioritized exploring their limitations and trying to figure out how to be together more.
Where do I START. Usually I can let editing mistakes slide, but considering there were multiple that left me CONFUSED (who tf is Ava and why am I reading her POV? I thought turning left was the bad option?) it lost a star for that. Also, it’s not even a finished book, absolutely nothing of importance happened and then it just ended? You get zero answers to anything. This could have been A FIVE STAR READ if it were FINISHED.
Not to mention, the line that I read in the ad on instagram that made me want to BUY this book? Didn’t even happen in this book!!!
I deeply regret purchasing this book with real money. Am I going to read the second book? If I can find it under a subscription or cheaper paywall, sure. Because believe it or not, I’m curious.

I like the story.. is well written and interesting but I feel it does not advance much (as storyline) when you are left with a cliffhanger and a note to buy the second book. Nothing against having more book, but normally you have a story that you close on each book, which this one does not seems to do, it does have a lot of details that will help a second book. But I am personally a little tired of those type of stories that just want you to keep buying the next book.
I thought the book was pretty good overall, but it felt a bit slow in some parts. There were moments where it dragged on longer than it needed to, and I was just waiting for the story to pick up again. Also, ending the book with a push to buy the next one was kind of weird—it didn’t really feel like a proper ending.
Still, the story kept me hooked, especially because of how the character of Caine develops. Watching his journey was definitely the highlight for me. Even with the slow pacing, it was an interesting read and I’m curious to see where things go next.
I feel like a lot of web novels can drag on, and the plots are extremely predictable to the point of not even wanting to finish the book or series. However, out of all of the web novels I have read, this has been my favorite. By far! I am really enjoying the twists and turns, and while yes, of course, it’s cheesy, as these types of books are. It is still holding my attention, and I am genuinely enjoying these books. Really looking forward to seeing where this author goes!
A whole entire book and basically nothing happens. Abandoned and mistreated, runs away, kidnapped, runs away again, Found again. No smut till very last chapter. Read through it bc I spent $10 on it. Waste of money. Wants you to read book two but no title given and nothing even progressed in book 1. Don't bother unless its free and you can read the second book. Bc goodness knows nothing progressed in this one. Disappointing. 2 stars just bc I like the dog.
Surprisingly a great story and well written. I found this story on FB for one of those sites we all hate lol but found it on Amazon to buy, so decided I’d give it a go. I’m really happy I did. I think I’ll be looking out for other stories by this author, as I have thoroughly enjoyed the story. The only downfall is the book cover, it in no way is a true representative of either lead character, which is a little disappointing for me
Okay, so Goodreads doesn’t have the next like three books in this series yet, so I’m pausing until the author adds them? Because I finished the first book and she’s apparently about to release the second e-book, so it should be here somewhat soon??? IDK this wasn’t bad and I like the characters? It’s not GREAT or anything, but entertaining!
I was a victim of an Instagram ad and started to read the book in the caption, then, naturally, I HAD to know what happened next. I was actually impressed by the writing. It definitely was in need of a proper editor but it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed the entire story and thought the plot was very well written considering it’s a “web novel.”
3.5 🌟 It’s an addicting book, but It is a web book. So after book two you have to read it on the internet. I liked it, but the second book gets nothing accomplished and I have no intention to continue on in the series since there are no other books. But it is complete brain rot and it obviously sucked me into the drama.
Ugh. I love a good wolf story. Grace is a fascinating character, mainly because she seems to be eighteen steps behind everyone else. I’m here for a young woman coming into her own power and starting to kick ass, and I’m patiently waiting for that to happen alongside Caine, Jack-Eye, Lyre, and Owen. I’m down to see where we go next.
This story is really good so far. Captivating and entertaining. Well written as well. Different than most “rejected” mates.. the person who rejects her is not her mate. So much plot to still uncover. So much intrigue and little answers yet. On to book 2!
Okay so i have to admit you got me hooked. I enjoy the storyline and the characters. The best part is you left me wanting more to find out how our lovers continue on. way togo!
I mean it’s a Galatia book it is good compared to that stuff but the “cliff hangers” that is a crime it’s not a cliff hanger when it is literally like if someone stops talking mid sentence it doesn’t leave you wanting more it leaves you confused
Not bad. I only say this because how much denial to the obvious can a main character have?! Well grace takes the cake. Other than that, it’s not a bad plot. Interesting spins
I loved this book so much! The slow burn was surprisingly great! How do I find the next book?? The link at the end of the book just brings me to the same book! I need to know what happens next!
What a cliff hanger ! Great set up and great characters. The ending though…. Dang ….. it really does leave you hanging on by a thread. On to the next one !
