"While The Elephants Danced" boasts a catchy and powerful title for a horror anthology that proves to be both fresh and sophisticated. Dr. Agonson is an author who commands attention, delivering page-turning prose that expertly builds a deep sense of fear and dread.
He is definitely one author I would be looking to follow and watch out for, whether you typically enjoy horror or not. In contrast, Dr. Agonson poetry is a striking feature: it reads like miniature dark tales, being both extensive and strangely poignant, adding a unique layer of depth to the collection.
The blend of chilling narratives and surprisingly moving poetry makes this far more than just "spooky fare"; it's a profoundly atmospheric and highly recommended collection.
