Retribution: Vendetta. Vengeance. Vanquished
It is August 1102, and Conn Fitz Malvais, a Breton Horse Warrior and knight, stands in the smoking ruins of the manor and village of Berwick Maviston. Around him lie dozens of bodies—women, children, and men who tried to fight against the powerful Montgomery brothers. At the same time, his friends, Georgio, the rescued Horse Warrior, and Edvard of Silesia, Chatillon’s man, are recovering in the infirmary of Shrewsbury Abbey, trapped between the two armies. They have a protector in the fierce Irish mercenary, Daegal O’Brien. However, their sanctuary and peace of mind are on the brink of being shattered. Murder stalks the abbey cloisters, a substantial silver ransom goes missing, and secrets are unveiled that will incite fury and vengeance among them all.
