I kept seeing this all over my fyp on tiktok so I decided to finally read it, and I’m glad I did!

I absolutely love short horror stories, and this contains 9!! Each one so unique and equally terrifying. I’m not even sure which I’d pick as a favourite as I loved them all, but if I had to pick, I’d choose the cabin or operation blackwater!

The story ‘ the upload ‘ was also so realistic and genuinely could happen in the future. It really shows how terrifying

No. Just… no.

This did absolutely nothing for me. I struggled to stay engaged, and instead of feeling eerie or unsettling, it just felt flat and frustrating. I kept waiting for it to come together or for something to truly grab me, but it never did.

Sometimes a book just isn’t for you, and this was one of those cases. I finished it, but only out of stubbornness.

The writing in this book is quite lazy and vague. I feel like the stories are more of the summary to a longer and better book rather than stand alone shorts. it was a disappointing read to say the least.

Not worth the hype

Repeatedly saw this being recommended for a good horror book.
The collection of stories had sci fi and paranormal elements with uniquely horrific creatures. While the atmosphere and imagery where well descriptive leaving an eery feeling at times, I was not at the edge of my seat or reading with the lights on. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and the train to de-rail but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Fun Short Horror Stories

A collection of fun short horror stories, several of which left me wanting more. A good mix of existential, creature, and body horror with a dash of paranormal thrown in.

Great collection of short stories, they’re all equally disturbing and I would read longer versions of many of them!

Good for a quick read but very repetitive language especially in the two longer stories. In my opinion still worth a read just because it’s so fast!

There are very few books that truly scared me and this is not one of them. The stories were more gory than scary. It was meh for me.

While the stories were very interesting they just didn't scary or bother me in any way. The author did a great job as each story kept my attention and made me wonder what was coming next.

I’ve seen this being described as one of the scariest most disturbing books ever written. It was not. I was fucking bored.
