About the author

Wayne Royse

I spent 30 years in technology as a senior leader—serving as a CIO, partner, and business owner—building teams and organizations in environments that demanded discipline, clarity, and execution. Before that, I served 12 years in the United States Navy as an Advanced Hospital Corpsman, working alongside Marine units in operational settings where decisions had real consequences.

That background shapes how I write.

In 2025, I retired from my technology career and turned my full attention to writing fiction under the pen name Wayne Royse. I publish independently through Wayne Royse Publishing and focus primarily on military action-adventure, including the *Ghost Warrior* series, which follows Navy SEAL operators through complex, high-stakes missions.

I write with a focus on realism, consequence, and character. I’m not interested in shortcuts or invincible heroes. I’m interested in what people do under pressure, the decisions they make, and the cost that comes with them. Whether I’m writing military thrillers, westerns, science fiction, horror, or police procedurals, the goal is the same—tell stories that feel real and hold up.

This isn’t a hobby for me. It’s work. It’s discipline. And it’s something I’ve committed to fully in this next chapter.

I publish through Wayne Royse Publishing, LLC, and I write short stories in other genres, such as Westerns, SCI FI and Horror.

I live in Southern Illinoi with my wife of 36 years and 3 of my 4 children.

I recommend this nook

The character development of Tucker and Minko was very good. The book held my interest. I read the book in one day. The writing skills for this author's first book were commendable. He has the potential to become a very recognized author. I'm looking forward to his second book to see his progress.

I highly recommend this book if you enjoy authors like Brad Thor and Lee Child.
