You had to be brave.
Wynne didn’t feel brave. Not about that.

Wynne Thar is an elder's daughter from a clan of magic-using heroes. As she steps into her adult role in the community, she wrestles with the pressures of finding a suitable husband and establishing a family of her own – and her fear of what that means. To complicate matters, she must navigate the feelings she harbors toward two vastly different Harek, the wholesome childhood friend who she believes isn’t ready for marriage, and Kal, the outgoing craftsman with a checkered past.

When Wynne’s connection to Harek wanes, she discovers Kal to be more than the suggestive vagrant she previously assumed, and it seems that she’s found someone worthy of her.

But Harek is in mortal danger. With a father ready to marry her off and the meddling of jealous women seeking to undermine her prospects, so is Wynne’s future. As life unravels around her, she must overcome her pride and fear if she has any chance of living up to the role she was born to fulfill.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

What kind of story makes you fall in love with characters before you even realize it?

This romantasy surprised me in the best way. The character development was the highlight…Wynne is bold, brave, and relatable, Harek is loyal and warmhearted, and Cal brings just enough mystery and tension to keep you guessing. Watching them grow over time felt natural and meaningful.

Wynne is torn, knows what she wants, but is too afraid to speak it aloud. She’s spunky, strong, beautiful, and may take things for granted without relaxing it.

Harek knows what he wants but when he says it realizes he may not be ready for the responsibilities required. However, he will do what it takes to prove his value.

Cal is the wildcard. The “running from my problems type”. But he’s also full of wit and charm. He has a good heart and wants to do right, but he must learn there’s consequences.

The town, friends, and family members all play a role in the main character’s development and are all easy to like. Really though, all the characters are lovable!

The story stays clean and non-graphic, though it does touch on mature realities like loss, childbirth, and the responsibilities of adulthood, which added emotional depth rather than shock value. Themes of identity, love, expectations, and becoming who you truly are stand out strongly.

As a Christian reader, I appreciated the honesty of imperfect characters learning, growing, and facing the consequences of their choices—something that felt very human and authentic.

A thoughtful, character-driven romantasy with heart AND the narration was done by the author - it was phenomenal!! The only thing I wish there was more of? More magical rune moments. ❤️

This was my first romantacy and I really enjoyed it! I was already familiar with the world and some of the characters from this book but you do not have to read the original trilogy to get sucked into the story. The characters have depth and no one feels like they’re just there to move the plot along. I highly recommend!

I would rate this book 4 1/2 stars.
Set in the same world as the Silversaar Legacy Trilogy, with many of the same side characters, this book focuses on Josef's younger sister, Wynne Thar. Wynne is a competent young lady of marriageable age. Her parents want to find a suitable match for her. With conflicting feelings for her childhood friend Harek, and the new, charming man, Kal, Wynne must decide who and what she wants, while dealing with fears of her own.
I enjoyed Princess of the Enclave!
I am very glad that this book was a CLEAN romance, as that type of book is very hard to come by nowadays. Yes, there were a few kisses, but there is no explicit or "spicy" content.
I would say the age rating for this book would be 15+ due to the discussion of slightly more mature themes (again, nothing spicy.) I recommend this book for people who like clean romance, and stories with strong family dynamics, or themes of honesty.
The characters were well-developed and their problems seemed realistic. Wynne was funny, and relatable. Truthfully, I was torn between Harek and Kal throughout the book, but I think she made the right descion in the end. Tess and Skeggis were very funny side characters, and I enjoyed the dynamic between Tess and Wynne.
I appreciate the consistently clean and wholesome work from Jordan St. James. If you haven't read the Silversaar Legacy for a background of the world and what happened with Aeryn and Josef, check it out!

The audiobook narration is well done, but unfortunately the story is not holding my interest.

Side Note: This book is set in the same world as the author’s Silversaar Trilogy and the events happen after the 3rd book. I was not made aware of this previous to starting this one and book 3 has not released yet. While you may be okay jumping into this book first, most of the world building happens in the trilogy.

Thank you to the author for the gifted audiobook!

I LOVED this book. I appreciated all the twists and was so excited when the couple got together in the end. I also love the character growth that happens, it was tastefully done.
Fair warning! If you read this before their Silversaar Legacy series, you will get spoilers for it.

I loved the story told in the Princess of the Enclave. I thought it was incredibly well done. I listened to the audio book and that was amazing on its own. The quality is fantastic and I loved the character voices. I'm looking forward to reading more (and hearing more)!
