This was the first book on Linux I read from cover to cover, and it served as my guide for years whenever I needed to figure something new out. A great book and not really all that dated. There are a few things that could do with updates, but that is sorta happening on Slackware's new documentation effort. Regardless of that, this is a book worth owning.

If you can install Slackware, you are too advanced to need this book. Good tips, but nothing you won't find elsewhere.
