Falling for Demons #4

How Not to Tame Your Human Tease

Rate this book
Sugar and spice and everything naughty.

A sunless city, a magical boundary, a demon around every corner—what could be better? Nothing, if you ask bright, bubbly Brioni. In fact, being trapped in the demon realm and assigned a letter carrier position might be the best thing that’s ever happened to her, even if she is one of only six humans in the entire town. Except there’s still something missing. Something that makes her feel truly wanted. Something that’s all hers and is maybe a little…deviant. The guilt of her past life and the strain of her new one have her seeking relief that she’s sure only the gruffest, grumpiest, growliest demon can give her.

Meet Ragnar—gruff, grumpy, growly, and gray. His magic and color were lost long ago, and with them went his civility. Self-sequestered to the outskirts of his homeland, the city’s resident beastkeeper would much rather spend his time taming ferocious animals than dealing with his fellow demons. Good thing Brioni isn’t a demon because she wants to be dealt with—in fact, she insists.

Brioni is sugary sweet and endlessly frustrating—everything Ragnar is looking for in a mate. She needles him and causes mischief, and Ragnar can’t seem to get enough of her brattiness, but he also can’t wrap his tail around the fact that her teasing is genuine evidence of infatuation.

Their attraction is instantaneous, and Ragnar would like to give her the punitive satisfaction she keeps hinting at, but at what cost? Will she continue to visit his reclusive corner of the woods after she gets what she wants? Will she know she has a choice once he gives in to his own possessive and domineering desires? Ragnar would rather give her the friendship he also knows she craves than ruin everything by indulging in the monster he believes he is. Brioni, however, is determined to win Ragnar’s heart…and every other part of him, horns included. Because Ragnar lives by one rule: trespassers will be punished.

Falling for Demons is a fantasy monster romance series set in a cozy and spicy shared world by authors Laura Winter and A.K. Caggiano. Each book can be read as a standalone novel but is interconnected, following six human women and their budding romances with the demons they once feared as they settle into a monstrously magical world.

I can’t take it seriously when the pixie-sized human in comparison to the big, bad demon says: ‘It’s so big’, and ‘it tastes yummy’.

Can that be my review?
Basically no plot and a lot of spice which disappointed me as I really enjoyed A Throne in the Dark - it was fun, whimsical, and had great banter and character dynamics. This did not.

Zero world-building. Barely any more characterisation than that to get the two to f*ck.

Audiobook arc gifted by publisher.

3.5/5 stars!

thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ALC of this book in return of a voluintary and honest review

okay this was actually so fun! i love a good grumpy x sunshine trope (especially when the sunshine character has a somewhat tragic backstory!!!) and this REALLYYY delivered on that front. Brioni and Ragnar had me giggling at times ngl, both because of the way their romance fleshed out AND cause they were just genuinely funny sometimes??

multiple times through this book the author kind of breaks the fourth wall (by mentioning pov's/chapters etc.) and even that was done in a fun way - it gives subtle nods of things to look forward to, both in this book and those that follow in the series! definitely makes me feel even more inclined to read the rest of this series too

this book is dual narrated and i can genuinely say i really enjoyed both voices! i was a bit scared that, with it being a demon romance, the male narrator might have too dramatic of a deep/gruff voice (which sometimes icks me out lmao) but that definitely wasnt the case! they really made this already enjoyable book, even more enjoyable

If A.k Caggiano writes it I’m buying it. She does excellent humor and witty banter that makes even darker topics feel lighter. How not to tame your human tease is no exception and I thoroughly enjoyed this! Absolutely enjoyed every second of this. My absolute fav was her faking being sick and him taking care of her (even knowing she’s faking) the bath scene … that’s how you build tension! Narrators did a phenomenal job adding to this story so def check out the audio version! Thanks to Netgalley, the author , narrators and publisher for this ALC

Fun fantasy romance

The animals are my favorite part, although Brioni and Ragnar are great. The story is definitely exciting and laugh-out-loud funny in places. There is graphic sex and a well-deserved violent death.

Two generous stars for world-building.

Without the stellar world-building this would be an easy one star review, all due to a too stupid to live heroine that had both the emotional maturity and the personality of a toddler and the sex drive of a nymphomaniac.

This book slipped into somewhat creepy territory, in my opinion. I have a lot of time for bratty heroines and kink in romance but this… wasn’t that. It’s hard to read a story about a woman so dangerously naive and without depth that she barely seems like an adult and see that as romantic in any way.

I also really despised the way that Brioni weaponized her cutesy nature to ignore and violate other characters boundaries throughout the book, especially Ragnar’s. Truly one of my least favourite sorts of romantic heroines. Not everyone is perfect, and not every character in a romance novel needs to be perfect either. But I struggled with the fact that Brioni’s manipulative behaviour was never addressed, even when the reason for it (her upbringing and fear of being unloved and alone) was acknowledged on page.

I really would have liked to see Brioni be held accountable for her actions and attitude. I think that would have gone a long way to making her feel less child-like and more like an adult on equal footing with Ragnar, rather than being infantile to the point of never needing to face consequences or grow as a character.

How Not to Tame Your Human Tease also featured some of the most awkward and narrarively disrupting fourth-wall breaking I’ve ever read. Weird, because I feel like Caggiano has managed that fourth-wall break, tongue in cheek narration very adroitly in previous books I’ve read. Unfortunately this one missed the mark.

Good story but

I’ve really enjoyed all these books so far, but this one was written a little too tongue in cheek for me, especially since I was looking forward to this couple’s story. The asides that broke the 4th wall and almost… jabs… to the kind of silliness of the story took me out of it. Overall good, but not my fave and that makes me sad.

What is with the abrupt change in how these books are written? I enjoyed the first book written by A.K.Caggiano, but this was an absolute mess.
First of all, the sudden inclusion of fourth-wall breaking was so jarring, completely out of context and out of left field, it did nothing but detract from this story. Which by the way, was not well-written to begin with.
The FMC, Brioni, was a completely ridiculous and superficial character. Her obliviousness, the contrived way she behaved was so off-putting, combined with her self-absorbed behavior made her completely unlikeable. Ragnar was mediocre at best, but due to Brioni being so insufferable it is impossible to comprehend what made Ragnar even be attracted to her.
The only enjoyable part of this book was the animals.

2 EXTREMELY GENEROUS Stars for this train wreck of a book. I apologize in advance, because after reading other reviews, I know I am going to screw up the curve with this one...

Brioni and Ragnar's story
Content and trigger info at the end of this review

I am going to start with what was great! The narrators did a great job with this audiobook! Since the content they had to narrate was so cringe, I thought they really were excellent with the material they acted out, so job well done to Xander Stone and Cat Protano

My brain is so frustrated with this book, I'm not sure I can even write a coherent review, but I sure am going to try. To start, this is my first book by this author, and my first book in this series, so that may have skewed my opinion, but in all honesty, I feel like I have a good enough picture I'm really glad I didn't go back and read the other books first.

First off, Brioni This name is famous for their leather goods from Europe, but I swear it sounds more like a pasta or maybe a noodle? And really, a wet noodle fits her so well, because she has the ridiculous personality of soggy pasta.

Our human, Soggy Pasta, is one of a few in town that arrived there by (this is where I am uncertain, because it was mentioned once in passing, and I was thoroughly invested in vacuuming) a human trafficking operation? But now they are stuck there because they can't go back to human land and spill the secret of the demons and their magic.

Ragnar, our demon with the ridiculous contemporary long-distance race name but also the name of the legendary Viking farmer, lives on the outskirts of town, far away from everyone else because he is ashamed by his gray-ness. Yes, he is a colorless? animal tender who has somehow lost his magic (again, vacuuming was just so fascinating today!) and because of that he has lost his color. He thinks folks in town are judging him for being colorless, when in reality it is because he is being a surly asshole.

Soggy Pasta is the mail carrier for town now, and she brings a package to Grumpy Gray Guy because he is tending to his ill doggie? Beast from the forest? (I was doing dishes at this point) and when GGG gives the doggie the potion from the package, Soggy Pasta now is all soggy in her panties over how big and dreamy this guy is. And she can't stop thinking about the massive package he must be hiding in his trousers.

Soggy Pasta continues to show up at GGG's house day after day, unwanted and uninvited, until she wears down GGG or something (scrubbing dishes, scrub scrub) and he now thinks they are fated to be together.

It is now where the book goes downhill. I KNOW I bet you thought it couldn't get any worse!!! BUT IT DID!!

It is at this point when the author unapologetically and frequently starts to break the fourth wall. And in the most obnoxious ways ever. Stuff like (paraphrasing here, I don't feel like actually looking up the quotes) "The author hasn't introduced this point yet!" or "But that won't be made known for another two books" or "Maybe the author should have shared that knowledge with the character." And it must be every other page this happens. So not only do we have to hear the infantile inner monologue of Soggy Pasta, but now we get to hear from the creator also, and it's not any better.

And now we need to talk about the grammar used. Cover your ears if you are sensitive to words, because this is going to get crass here. The author uses the word c0ck when GGG talks about his c0ck, but then can't use words like cl!t or p*$$y? Instead we get to hear delightful words like "nub" "button" and "NUBBIN"! feckin feck. I can't even with this...

I have like a dozen more angry, ranty things to say about this book, about how much I disliked the world building (basically there was none, I am guessing the author set all that up in the past three books though, so that's on me), and the lack of character building (also possible a lot of this was set up in previous books). And the way the FMC was always begging for d!CK (without saying that word) and crying "make it hurt!" *eye roll*. And how we spent 4 or 5 different times in the infirmary. And how the FMC was TSTL and never questioned ANYTHING, but then also NEVER STOPPED TALKING. Or the way she rated her smiles from her most favorite to her 43rd favorite smile, it gave toddler vibes (like, tell me your most favorite sea creature, little toddler!) And what is with the skipping everywhere? Is she also wearing pigtails and knee socks while doing this? TODDLER VIBES. Oh, and the world is called HECK! todddlllleerrrr. UGHHHH.... Ok. I'm stopping here. I really am not trying to be mean, I really just hated this book. I really should make this 1 star because of how much I hated it.

One thing I did think was cute and fun was their bath time.Yes, shocking that Soggy Noodle had a good bath. Even though it was whiney and manipulative and Soggy Noodle acted like a 14 year old boy most of the time, spreading her legs and panting for him to "touch her there"... I digress, maybe I didn't like that scene either... And I usually LOVE primal scenes, but there were two in this book, and both of them were terribly written. One, she just lays down in the middle of the road, and she's like "oops, there goes my n!pples, spilling out of my dress." UGHHHH!

Thank you NetGalley, A K Caggiano, and Dreamscapes media for an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much to A.K. Caggiano for the ARC!

How Not to Tame Your Human Tease follows Brioni, the bubbly woman that delivers the mail in Heck and is a friend to all the other human girls, along with Ragnar, the reclusive beastmaster that we previously met in How Not to Charm Your Human Colleague. Brioni delivers a package to Ragnar, who has received medicine for his own sick dog. She's immediately enchanted by all the animals that he keeps, and especially intrigued by the very large, very broody demon who cares for them. When she keeps returning, Ragnar finds that he loves her silly questions and upbeat attitude, against his better judgement.

This is definitely my favorite of the series so far. There isn't much of a plot, and frankly, what little there is was resolved a little too quickly at the end. I still have questions. But that's okay, because everything else about this book is phenomenal. I'm in love with Caggiano's humor. She frequently breaks the fourth wall with her narration, making meta comments and including some very fun references ("If you're a demon... then why are you gray?" "Oh my god, Brioni, you can't just ask demons why they're gray!").

I also ADORE Brioni and Ragnar's dynamic. I was giggling and kicking my feet SO FREQUENTLY while reading, I couldn't put it down! And when I got to the spice??? I had to *cough* go be by myself for a while.

Like I said, this definitely takes the prize for my favorite of the series so far. I need more, and I need it ASAP!!!!

The magic of this book is truly Brioni! Her heart is guileless and pure and joyful! She wants to belong, and despite being sold to slavers into the demon realm by her awful human family, she is living her best life delivering mail all around the city! One night, her route takes her close to the woods to a giant barn, and it's a lil spooky, but there are big bone puppies with glowing purple eyes, so her pale ass is ready to pet them right away.
Enter our surly gray demon, Ragnar. He stops her with a command before she gets too close to booping a snoot, and is grumpy for the entire exchange of his package. Did she follow him into his dwelling and spoil his sick dog (mortal dogs are not a thing in the demon realm, but this good boy is!) with pets and kisses and praise once he takes his medicine.
The next few days, she finds reasons to stop by the barn, to his chagrin. But like, she is something to look at. And Ragnar loves looking. Words are hard tho, so they have spats and flirt aaaaaand generally get into trouble!
I loved the whimsy of Brioni's mind and of the narrator! Ragnar's grumpy countenance was fun too! The narrators performed it so well!

i so wanted to like this more than i did. there were some really, really good parts that i thoroughly enjoyed. i loved ragnar. i loved his character, his backstory, his personality. he was chef’s kiss.

i liked the subtle blossoming dom/sub relationship between brioni & ragnar but i do wish it had been talked about a little bit more between them. i know this a relatively fun/silly series but i think it would’ve strengthened the dynamic.

i…hesitate to say that i liked brioni. i liked her at times. sometimes, though, she felt a little…childish? i don’t know parts of it just were a bit icky (such as her “it’s sooooooooo big teheheh” comment during the first spicy scene).

i also really disliked the fourth wall breaks. they felt really random in this and didn’t flow well. it really took me out of the story each time.

This book left me feeling like I'd just had a night out with my friends with a glass of wine (or whatever your drink of choice is; I'd love to say a martini, but I'm not a liquor girlie). I laughed a ton, and whenever there was a fourth wall break, it felt like a friend breaking during a story for commentary. This was the first book I'd picked up in the series, but I will be going back through.

I went into this expecting more of the Villains & Virtues (in?)famous slow burn vibes, with the same clever writing style and humor. Clever writing and humor? Check. Slow burn? Let's just say I was delightfully surprised, and kept being surprised. I'm putting cozy and spicy together because A.K. managed to make it both. It was such a fun read. I mean, there is literally a chapter titled Beg Your Hard On.

Thank you to Dreamscape and NetGalley for ALC!!

This was a cute and cozy palate cleanser read filled with A.K Caggiano's signature fourth wall breaks and tongue in cheek humour.

I liked Brioni and Ragnar together, the grumpy/sunshine dynamic is always one of my favourites to read so this book scratched an itch for me in that regard.

I do wish we had seen more of the wildlife/animals beyond what was already established in the former books though, just for the sheer fact that Ragnar is the beast master and with that title I just expected more...well beasts.

Overall it was a quirky, cute, fast read. No major complaints.

I am such a sucker for Caggianos writing so this was a hit for me. I felt like this was the most engaging and fleshed out installment of the series so far. And by far the spiciest. I liked Ragnar a lot as the MMC and Brioni was fine but not my favorite FMC.

I was happy to return to a more low stakes setting and plot (the last was much to high stakes for a “cozy monster romance” series IMO) and just get our soul bonding intimacy on in the barn.

I can’t rate this as a five though and here’s why! The overall series is disjointed AF! In the first book I felt like little cliffhangers would work themselves out and that just hasn’t happened yet and as we get closer to the end here- I’m worried they won’t. Even for this book individually, the villain felt misplaced. There was never really an explanation for what was going on with him.. major plots are occurring simultaneously but the books aren’t being cohesive enough for my buy-in. This series has the opportunity to be soooo clever but I’m only getting some of that so far! I get little teasers of the authors trying to tie things together but unless the last two books are sweeping question answer..ers, I don’t see that happening.

Still fun. Still will continue the journey!

I’m having fun going through each of these women’s stories in these connected stand alones. I like that Brioni is a sunshine girl, and she’s all mesmerized by Ragnar’s quiet gruff muscular loner ways. I like that she helps him through some of his social anxiety and he wants to work on it a bit for her sake. They are there for each other and spend time together and it’s really sweet. Then when it’s not sweet it’s DIRTY. I’m not historically a brat kink seeking girlie, but I can appreciate what these two had and how it works for both of them. A spicy fun time! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

A.K Caggiano does it again! Oh my gosh! I had such a fun time reading!! Caggaino loves to break the fourth wall and she does this MULTIPLEEE TIMES ohh my goodnes. I loved it so much!!! EEKKK. I love it when she writes grumpy x sunshine characters. Brioni is so cute bubbly and a kinky lil thang heehee.

This is probably indeed a spicer book she has written, and I am foorrr itt! We dive in a little deeper in brat x brat tamer and even PRIMAL PLAY. It is just soo delectable just ughh so good. I appreciate Brioni's priorities when she just flats out thinks to just stop running and proceeds to "fall" in order to get caught by Ragnar haha.

This was all the vibes and spice I needed and it was great! I can't wait to read the last two books!

I received the ARC from the author. This review is my honest and true thoughts

I love the characters, and I love being back in this world through AK Caggiano's eyes. We have come across Brioni, our cheerful mail girl, in the other books, and briefly met Ragnar as well as he largely deals with animals in town.

It was so wonderful to delve deeper into Brioni's character, beyond the sunshine exterior to the depths of who she is. Achingly human, and wanting somewhere to belong and call her own after a lifetime living on the outside. She has this way with everyone around her, even the animals, and doesn't see this overarching positive effect she has on them. This shortsightedness at her own positives isn't grating but feels so utterly relatable. Brioni really blooms into herself around Ragnar, including leaning into her lascivious feelings towards him. She's sweet on the outside and a bit spicy on the inside.

Ragnar was another wonderfully complex and yet complimentary character to our Brioni. He is gray, and therefore without magic, which is rare and a huge deal in the demon society. Ragnar has taken to working with a variety of animals on the outside of town away from society. He thinks he is content in this life until he meets Brioni. I love the way he cares for her, protects her, helps her while she is healing, and honestly, they had too many noteworthy moments. Just watching him go from mildly gruff, and happily alone to falling and considering ordering something so she'd have to deliver it to him (to see her) or taking her home from the infirmary to his home. These two might just be my favorite characters in the Falling for Demons series.

The only reason this wasn't 5 stars was there was a plot point, that I don't know if I could tell you what they were doing. Honestly, there were a couple of things with that which I am sure will be addressed in future books. It was not a big deal. It didn't negatively impact the story, and I am planning on continuing the series as it is anyway. This book breaks the fourth wall here and there throughout it, just as an FYI.

I loved this one. The characters, the pets (seriously all the pets), and being back in this world. 100% recommend it.

Spoiler-free, context free quotes I liked:

' She would never complain, which would of course turn out to be a problem and frankly had already been for quite some time, but readers and heroines alike shouldn't allow that foreshadowy evidence to detract from the fact that she was indeed thrilled because she had all of heck to traverse. '

' The map she had wasn't perfect. She knew that all perfection ever really did was get in the way of "good enough" and "done", which were far more important. So she squinted at the done good enough map... '

' Three stumbles over roots, two snags at her skirt, and a single squeak of alarm at something buzzing past her face later she made it to her destination. ' - I gotta start tracking the passage of time like this.

' ...which he would have minded under any other circumstance. But this wasn't one of his chapters so if there was no expounding to be done. '

' neither of them could get that lucky though, not when it was only the 10th chapter. '

' A great banging woke brioni. Regrettably, it was not the kind she had been dreaming about. '

' 'how long could fixing it really take?' heroines who are painfully optimistic, often run into trouble at the halfway point. She wasn't quite there yet, but she was dashing toward danger at an alarming rate with that kind of question. '

' Would that mean she could do all the touching and he would watch? That wasn't the worst prospect in the world, but since that had already been covered in another heroine's story she hemmed and hawed. '

' How brioni hadn't yet heard that word was a mystery or perhaps a failing of the author. '

' Soul bonds were always right on time. Brioni didn't need to be born into demon culture to know that. She just didn't quite understand that the time they showed up was exactly right whenever it happened to occur, but she couldn't really be blamed because that was kind of nuanced in a way the author wasn't even sure she was explaining all that well. '

I listened to this on audio and the narrators, Xander Stone and Cat Protano, did a good job bringing the story to life. It was read in a dual narration style and I loved Xander's deep voice for the MMC, Ragnor. However, I think it was the combination of how the FMC, Brioni, was written and the way Cat read her character, but it was just too young and juvenile,in my opinion, for this type of book. 4 stars for the narration overall.

As far as the story itself, I did get a couple of icks, which is why I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. If I wasn't reading this bc I received an advanced copy of the audiobook, I probably would have DNF it.

The story is written in 3rd person POV and sometimes 3rd person narrator. I appreciated the grumpy demon, Ragnor, and his love of animals. There was some good chemistry between Brioni and him, but the way it was written gave me the biggest ick.

It's a low stakes romance demon/human romance novel. This was the first book I read in the series and I was able to follow along easily, definitely interconnected standalones. I won't be reading others in this series as I am not a fan of the writing style.

Thank you NetGalley, A K Caggiano, and Dreamscapes media for an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I can't get enough of this series! The audiobooks are short but always packed with so much emotional connection and delicious spice.

This is the second book in this series that I've read, and while I found it didn't mesh with the other character's side stories as seamlessly, it was a cozy reprieve amidst all the action. Centered around its own secluded sanctuary in the world, it's more of a cooking pot for the adorable and passionate relationship building between Brioni and Ragnar. Their romance was a satisfying slow burn as they found trust and a home in each other, and the obvious attraction brewing beneath the surface was an incredible tension to their friendship. Watching them heal together and grow closer was such a heartfelt story... while you're gnawing at your blankets for them to pounce on each other already.

I was cheering for these two right from the moment they met. Both of them have this underlying fear of "Who would choose me?", which eventually morphs into "I would choose you in every lifetime". Ragnar brings the steady, comforting energy that Brioni needs to ground herself and her self-deprecating thoughts... and Brioni is the enthusiastic and adoring presence that Ragnar needs to remind himself to let loose and enjoy himself.

I especially related to Brioni, this feels like the closest depiction I've found to ADHD in a novel, all the way down to the object permanence of other's feelings. She's sweet and passionate about the interests that steal her attention, and I adored her ramblings in her narration.

The narration! My goodness both narrators were absolutely perfect for their characters. I've never heard a narrator with as upbeat energy as Cat Protano has, and yet she balances it so well with the gut-wrenching anxiety and self-doubt that creeps in. She's the perfect "sunshine" narrator for these kind of grumpy x sunshine pairings. Xander Stone gives this incredible balance of warmth and intimidating that hands itself perfectly over to Ragnar's imposing demeanor. Just like this beastkeeper has a heart of gold, Stone wraps his dialogue in soothing, commanding energy... The perfect dom to Brioni's brat.

I would like to thank the publisher for sending me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.

Brioni is one of the six humans living in the demon city, and she couldn’t be happier about it. Working as a letter carrier, she’s content to do her job… until she’s sent to the outskirts of town to deliver a letter to Ragnar. Ragnar is definitely the grump to her sunshine in every way, and Brioni is determined to worm her way into his life. As the two of them continue their little dance, it becomes clear that they both are falling for one another, and Ragnar realizes she might be the only person he actually cares for.

This was cozy and super spicy and I enjoyed it! I’m very grateful I was given an arc for this as I had an arc for book three and I loved it as well. I think what I loved most about Ragnar and Brioni is how complete polar opposites they are from one another and yet it works. Ragnar is an absolute introvert, Brioni is an absolute extrovert. Ragnar is grumpy and gruff, Brioni is sunshine and bubbles. LITERALLY POLAR OPPOSITES. And yet, they worked so well together. There was very minimal stakes in this compared to the last one, but I enjoyed the way we get their whole romance and how it unfolded. I am so excited for the next two books in this series, and I will never stop suggesting this series to people – especially the audiobooks as they are so well done and the narrators do such a fantastic job bringing them to life.

This book sounded interesting when I saw it on Netgalley, so I requested to review it despite not having read the previous books in the series. The description said it can be read as a standalone - and I was able to do so for the most part. I did have to google the premise of the first book to understand some of the basics, but most of my questions were answered throughout the book.

I listened to the audiobook. Both narrators were good, though the male narrator was much better. I really liked the tone of his voice and his pace and diction. Hers was okay. Overall it was really well done as an audiobook and very bingeable.

Brioni is a human trapped in the demon realm after being brought there by slavers in a previous book. She got a job delivering packages for the post, and eventually she ended up making a delivery to grumpy recluse demon Ragnar. He lives outside of the main town of Heck (!) in his barn where he tends to and heals animals for the townsfolk. Brioni immediately gets his back up with her stubbornness and argumentativeness. She gets under his skin in the best and worst ways.

If you're a fan of enemies to lovers with good banter, this brat kink romance is perfect for you! The spicy scenes are great, though a bit of a slow burn. 4/5 spice level - explicit content, adults only.

Can be read standalone but you may enjoy the story better if you get to know the world first. I'm certainly intrigued enough to go back and read the previous ones!

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the ALC I received in exchange for my honest review.
