Maisie spends her days wiping spills from diner tables, her head bent low to avoid the penetrating gazes of the alphas who drift through the door. Her bruises have almost faded, and life is looking brighter.
Across the street, construction is nearing its end, and with it, the routine visits from the workers who have made a habit of stopping by for a slice of her homemade pie. Maisie isn't sure if that's a good thing or not. She thinks she’ll miss them, but she knows better than to put her trust in any man. Not again.
Wyatt, Elias, Knox, and Hunter have been quietly watching over the skittish omega for longer than she knows, ready to act if the man responsible for her fading bruises ever shows up. They want her. They've always wanted her, and will do bad things to anyone who dares lay a hand on her.
When her past unexpectedly resurfaces in the form of her abusive ex-husband, four rugged alphas protect her. They claim her, publicly and unequivocally, as their omega. Then they take her to their rural farmhouse to escape her stubborn ex.
Four men. One promise. She will never be afraid again.

3.4 stars. This was emotional and fun sometimes, when they weren’t trying to help her heal from the past chasing her. I just didn’t love all the summarizing that happened during important moments. And the first time they knotted, it threw me completely off because the omegaverse side of things was so in the background of everything.
Like 1,5 stars. This book had amnesia half of the time forgetting it was an omegaverse story. Or like the author doesn’t really know what the omegaverse is and just half wing it. It really felt like it was just thrown in here and there cause the genre is popular.
They go from polite and distant for a month to I’ve lived with you for a day and now I love you, even if you’re not a scent match. It’s a really strange instalove thing, almost like the authors first and second language isn’t English and something got lost in translation.
Then we have the fact that one of the alphas gets so upset at his video games that he screams and sometimes throws his controller. I don’t care how much the author tried to push it under the rug with the omega trying out the game and instantly screams for the zombies to ”die, die, DIE”. That behavior of loosing your shit over a video game and throwing things is toxic and a huge red flag. Like we even get something from the omega where she remembers her ex starting out just angry, then goes to punch walls near her and saying he would never hit or hurt her, to taking that step and finally hitting her. But we shouldn’t be concerned about this behavior cause he’s supposed to be a good guy? Couldn’t get over this stupid shit.
Back to the omegaverse stuff. They don’t have nests, like a room for the pack nest. And it’s like mentioned at the end that they put down mattresses so that’s the new nest. But what? They don’t have a packbed either? So what she just hops around each night with the guy she wants for the night? It really felt off the whole thing, if it wasnt an omegaverse story it would probably have been a tiny bit better and more understandable.
I wished I DNFd it, but I’m too much of a ”let’s see if the author can make it work anyway” kind of girl.
DNF. This was somehow slow and insta love at the same time while forgetting what subgenre it was in? Like omegaverse was mentioned in chapter 1 and then we forgot about it and then randomly a nest was brought up and I was like oh yeah this is an OV.
Knot in Doubt was definitely a Cute small town omegaverse! I found it scrolling through Amazon at books I wanted to read. I completely devoured this book in a day. I love Masie so much, her character was written so well. The pack was definitely perfect for her and I fell in love with this book reading about them falling in love with her. I think overall it’s a great read and I will gladly read it again. I’m glad the Ex husband has been taken care of and out of the picture. I do wish we could have read about Masie seeing her sister again and meeting the packs families and their beach trip.

Plot: Maisie spends her days wiping spills from diner tables, her head bent low to avoid the penetrating gazes of the alphas who drift through the door.
Thoughts: I liked this book, and it really did a great job showing Maisie's emotions. The men were so sweet and showed how much they cared about her before even pursuing anything romantic.
Safety: Virgin/ Celebate: no Cheating/sharing: yes Triggers: abusive ex, talks of abuse. HEA: yes
This book was a fantastic read. The alphas were patient yet steadfast with the abused omega. Maisie isn’t broken she’s strong and wants to live life after nearly being killed multiple times by her controlling and abusive ex-husband. She was constantly running and hiding and always loving to stay safe. Finding a home in Rios, a small town in Iowa, wasn’t the plan but the community embraces her and she never wants to leave. Then suddenly four gorgeous alphas are patiently getting to know her. Respecting her triggers and making her feel safe it was amazing. Wyatt, Elias, Hunter and Knox were the perfect pack for Maisie and help her start living instead of simply surviving. They help her re-establish her relationship with her sister and she strengthen her ties to the community. When her ex shows up they support her and he realizes she’s no longer isolated and scared. It was a great plot, the development of the characters was fantastic. The spice was exceptional and the ending fantastic. 5 stars!!!
Girl comes to small town hiding from abusive ex, guy saves girl from house fire, girl suddenly trusts this man enough to come home with him.
…
Self preservation has gone out the window apparently. I know this is fictional but (more times than not) men will do nice things in order to take advantage of women.
Maisie would not have gone home with this man she’s known for a month.
I love omegaverse but this one was slow paced and insta love at the same time. We spend so much time on Maisie and how she’s been on the run that when the relationship with the love interests happened, it’s completely unearned because it happened so quickly.
Like not even 24 hours in the alpha’s house and Maisie is telling these men her life story.
This was a good story but not great. The FMC is on the run from an abusive ex husband but I found that was used as more of a gimmick to explain why she came to town and eventually why she needs to move in with the MMCs.
The MMCs kind of blended together besides Wyatt and didn’t have distinct personalities for me. I also didn’t understand why she gave Knox grief and drew out the scenes with him when the other guys she willingly got with very quickly. It didn’t feel authentic.
This felt more like reverse harem than omegaverse. It also used omegaverse as a gimmick to explain all her men but didn’t really go into omegaverse attributes at all.
The story had potential but fell flat and superficial in the end. I still liked it enough for a 3/5.
I normally love this author, but this book felt like it was both too slow and too fast all at once. Lots and lots of build up and tension, FMC is wary and mistrustful (understandably so) only to have her instantly accept and get physical with the MMCs. It was almost two different stories at various points. I had a lot of high hopes because of how much I liked Nicole's previous works (Their Precious Omega series is fantastic with heavy amounts of plot + spice), but this one didn't do it for me.
I really enjoyed this book! Full of sweet, caring alphas as they look out and claim their omega. No scent matching, just a love story with alphas and omegas. Honestly, at one point I had to double check the title cuz nothing about it screamed omegaverse to me at first. There wasn't a heavy emphasis on that and it just was part of the story. Like a sprinkle of sugar on top of a pie. There was a lot of focus on the emotional relationships and building trust.
An omega on the run from her ex husband who used to repeatedly brutalize her finds a small town in Iowa giving her the welcome home she so desperately needed. Working as a waitress as well as pie making in a diner. This pack of construction workers fall for her as does the town, purple and black bruises and all. It takes a bit but slowly she comes out of her shell. When her evil ex try’s to off her she moves in with the pack of Alphas. They were absolutely adorable for her. Strong yet gentle. Good book.
A little more angst than I usually read. She’s running from an abusive ma that beats her black and blue and everyone that helps her. She lands in a small town and feels home and that’s because her alphas are there. It was omega alpha without the scent matches. They talked about scents but not matches. She was scared but open to love and happiness and the alphas loved her and saved her. It does have a happy ending. And the spice isn’t as intense and slick filled like some, it was pretty mild and very lovey and sweet
An omega running from an abusive ex-husband…four alphas who are instantly protective of her, JUST from watching her work in the diner…*swoon*
Actually, what made this book unique was the fact that even though this is omegaverse, it isn’t overly focused on until the end. It’s more about the storyline, the relationships and Maisie working through her trauma and moving forward. It was good!
Omegaverse stories make for a good escape & fun read... but this one does focus around a FMC who is escaping an abusive marriage so be careful if DV is triggering for you. The 4 alphas are construction workers & total cinnamon rolls when it comes to the skittish omega FMC. The relationships develop quicker than I'd expected with her history, but again, it's omegaverse (though not scent matches interestingly enough) moderate spicy - I'd say 🌶🌶🌶
there was such a buildup towards the main conflict but then actuality of it all just felt so flat. this was an omegaverse? the author maybe mentioned that 4 times and the only omegaverse thing that happened was a heat right at the end of the book. it didn’t need to be omegaverse imo. it felt so rushed. we had a build up to her reuniting with her sister but then never actually got to see the reunion
Trigger Warnings: abusive ex-husband, birth control tampering (not between MCs)
Kinks: n/a
Thoughts:
I got 45% through and decided I couldn’t force myself anymore. The story was beyond slow, yet the instalove was super fast somehow. It felt anticlimactic.
This book is so repetitive that I had to stop. I felt like the book would start to get more interesting, but then would take 2 steps back and repeat info already given. I feel like the story could have been great if the repetitive/filler info was removed. Also did Nico have more than one daughter or did the names change?!
I loved this first book so much! I’m unfamiliar with the author but I’ll keep an eye out for this series. I laughed and cried and laughed a lot more while reading about Masie and her wonderful loving and patient pack of alphas
It's an OV romance with a previously abused omega. It's basically exactly what you'd expect in terms of depth and plot development. Nothing wild or crazy, but not a bad read if you're looking for a time-waster/easy read.
I absolutely loved this book and really enjoyed reading it. In fact I read it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. I would highly recommend giving it a read.
This book was such a cute read. The drama from her ex was balanced and kept the book interesting without overshadowing the connections that were being made. I loved how head over heals they were from the very beginning but still took things at her pace.
This was a quick read. I liked that there was an underlying story going on with her exhusband. It helped with the character development. The spice was great. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Totally enjoyed the storyline and writing in this one. It wasn’t overly Omegaverse sort of just touched on it but it had a bit of depth and good characters.
