Moon School
A laugh-out-loud middle-grade sci-fi adventure about courage, identity, and finding friendship across the galaxy.
Twelve-year-old Eddie Brown is Earth’s first human student accepted into the Star Union’s lunar academy—a state-of-the-art interspecies school where absolutely nothing is familiar. No other humans. No gravity. And definitely no idea how to make friends with aliens who think sarcasm is a disease.
Handpicked by lottery as Earth’s “representative” student, Eddie quickly discovers he’s expected to embody the best of humanity… which is awkward, because he’s impulsive, emotionally immature, and has never fit in anywhere before. His only allies? A feathered alien girl named Tula Vox and a robotic AI guide they jokingly nickname “Harry.”
As Eddie navigates cultural misunderstandings, cosmic cafeteria food, and interplanetary politics, he begins to Is the real experiment him?
Perfect for fans of Sal & Gabi Break the Universe, The Homework Drone Rebellion and Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja, Moon School blends humor, heart, and sci-fi worldbuilding in a story about what it really means to belong.

About the author

I'm the author of The Homework Drone Rebellion and other middle-grade sci-fi adventures written for curious kids who love glitchy robots, aliens, impossible homework, and saving the world between classes. My stories are fast-paced, a little funny, and always powered by heart, imagination, and a touch of rebellion.

I write for readers ages 9–12 — especially the ones who ask too many questions, build weird things in their garage, or secretly believe their math teacher might be an alien.

Before becoming a full-time author, I spent 30 years working in the medical technology industry. Now, I’ve traded boardrooms for spaceships and deadlines for plot twists, focusing on my true passion: writing. In addition to humorous sci-fi for middle-grade readers, I’m also exploring stories for adult audiences who never outgrew their sense of wonder.

My love of science fiction began in 7th grade with authors like Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and Robert Heinlein. These days, I still enjoy big ideas — especially when served with a side of humor, like in Dennis E. Taylor’s Bobiverse series.

When I’m not writing, I spend a suspicious amount of time studying astrophysics for fun (yes, I really did want to be an astronaut), talking to librarians, and wondering whether I could pass 7th grade again. (No opinion.) I live with my favorite humans, two black cats, a few helpful gadgets, and one very opinionated laptop.

If your kids enjoy clever heroes, emotional AI, or cosmic-level chaos, I hope you’ll check out my books and join the adventure.
