Ponovni susret mijenja sve. Strast ih vuče jedno drugome, tajne ih razdiru, a sudbina im neprestano izmiče iz ruku. Koliko puta možeš izgubiti istu osobu prije nego što ona sasvim nestane?

REINA REED -" PUT DO NAS"-
"Nije prošao nijedan dan a da njega nije bilo u mojim mislima." 🥹

Ja sam doživjela toliki splet emocija kroz ovu knjigu. Ja sam se toliko naplakala, pogodila me do srži. Pogodila me i raspametila do kraja. Toliko boli, tuge, patnje, požude, ljubavi, strasti, zabranjenih pogleda, poljubaca. Toliko divnih emocija, osjećaja, tuge , toliko svega u jednoj knjizi nisam doživjela u skorije vrijeme.

Spletom okolnosti upoznaje Rivera. Zavodiljvog, šarmantnog i zgodnog muškarca.

I had the enormous honor of being a beta reader before this beautiful story got its hardcover edition. Oh my God, I cried so much while reading it. It was around four in the morning when I finished, and I was sobbing as if, at the very least, the end of the world had come.

Now, this might sound funny to you, but I actually read the manuscript twice in a row because the first time I was so immersed in the story that it didn’t even occur to me that I was supposed to do the beta reader’s job along the way. 😅

A few weeks ago, I peeked into that very same story, which has since become a perfect book, and I started crying on the very first page. It overwhelmed me, and only those who have read it would understand. It is simply impossible for anyone to remain indifferent during or after reading this story. I think only someone with a stone instead of a heart in their chest could be unaffected.

Anyway, it's no secret that I deeply respect and love Reina as a person. She is a wonderful being and a great friend, but my friends, she is also an enormous writing talent. In my opinion, each subsequent book of hers is better than the last. This one is my favorite at the moment, but who knows? She might soon prove me wrong. 🥰

By the way she writes, I couldn’t separate her from the best-selling authors worldwide. She’s progressing very fast, and it seems to me that she has already built a recognizable writing style and her own direction.

That’s why, when I accepted the “beta job,” I partly knew what I was getting into. I’m used to Reina liking to write something real, something that feels alive. Something that could happen to anyone in this world. Something so heartbreaking that it blurs the line of fiction and creates the impression that it actually happened to the person reading. After that, the reader isn’t just affected for days, weeks, or months. No. The story continues to live with them and breathe under their skin, as if it were the reader’s memories from some past life. At least that was the case for me.

Boom, within the first few pages, you have insight into a great love. Then follows the whole story behind that love. I experienced it like those seven minutes after death, when the brain, before it shuts down forever, starts showing special moments from life.

Allison Clarke believes in true, sincere, and unconditional love. The kind of love they write novels about, sing songs about, and make movies about. River Ward only believes in survival, something that’s been with him since early childhood. Unlike her, he’s full of secrets from the past. Their chance encounter turns into an interesting evening and then a passionate night. Both think what they shared was just a short-lived summer fling, but soon they will realize how cruelly fate played with them. They meet again in the last place they expected. Feelings awaken inside them, reminding them that what they had was anything but small and insignificant. Little by little, it turns into true love. Yet, this love is forbidden because a person stands in the way of their happiness, a person neither of them wants to hurt. Forty-five years later, Allison and River meet again. The past and present intertwine as they fight for a love that never disappeared.

Reina wrote River and Ally’s first meeting so well that I immediately fell in love with him. From the first moment, their chemistry is palpable. He is so funny with that humor of his. Smart, handsome, and has that bad boy vibe. I totally understand why Ally fell for him. And she’s so tender that I felt sorry for her the whole time because she was forced to be strong even when it was practically impossible.

Tough choices, fighting oneself, cruel life circumstances, two real people at the wrong time, passion bursting from every page, and love that hurts both the main characters and anyone who reads about it… That, my dear friends, is this book. Definitely one of my favorites among every book I’ve ever read and not just for a single read. Everyone will come back to it again, I am convinced, because I did.

I wholeheartedly recommend it to those who love real human stories, who want to feel every emotion and live every moment alongside the characters. Because you will suffer with them, laugh with them, enjoy their moments of happiness and love, and don’t lie to yourself—grab some tissues because you’ll need them for when their pain hurts you and you cry with them. ❤️
