IS AN UNFORGIVABLE BETRAYAL—AN AGE-LONG FAMILY SECRET—POTENT ENOUGH TO KEEP TWO HEARTS APART?

Nothing had prepared eighteen-year-old Orevaoghene ‘Revie’ Igbide for her first heartbreak with her best friend, Zik. The worst part? It was payment for a crime neither of them were guilty of. A decade later, she’s set to marry Linus, her knight in shining armor and a charismatic pastor, who isn’t perfect but can give her what she desires most in life—marriage.

After years of going on forced blind dates set up by his mom, Isaac ‘Zik’ Nwachukwu still hasn’t found the one. The reason is simple. His heart belonged to someone else. When the cracks in Revie’s relationship with Linus begin to widen, Zik’s steadfast love forces her to confront feelings she thought were long gone for him. Still, she is reminded of why they can’t be together but left with the difficult choice of sticking with Linus or throwing caution to the wind to be with the love of her life.

A final tragedy ending Revie’s engagement to Linus might just be Zik’s perfect second chance to fight for his one true love. But can they overcome the hurdles of their family’s secret or will they let it tear them apart a second time?

ARC Review – No One But You, Oreva by Enewerome

You know that feeling you get after watching a great movie or finishing an amazing book, and someone asks, “So what’s it about?”
You take a deep breath, smile, and think, Where do I even start?
That’s exactly how I feel right now.

When I first got No One But You, Oreva, I had no idea what to expect. I’d never read anything by the author before, so I was stepping into her world for the first time—and now, I’m completely in.

✨ What I Loved:
- Revie’s family: So beautifully close-knit. I especially admire how her parents gave her the freedom to choose her path while still offering guidance. We need more of this kind of parenting in Nigeria.
- Eloho: Still my favorite. I love that girl a little too much 😂 Her vibe is unmatched.
- Zik: That man deserves an award. After Jacob, it’s definitely him 😂
- The playlist: Absolutely perfect—emotional, beautiful, and it fits the story perfectly. It made the entire reading experience even more beautiful.

Heads up: Certain characters will test your patience—but no panic, you’ll survive 😂

If you're into:
- Christian fiction
- Clean romance
- Best friends-to-lovers
- Second-chance love stories

Then this book is definitely for you.

I read No One But You Oreva in the period of three days, not that I couldn't be faster, because I was so immersed in the storyline that I felt I was with the characters in real time.💕

NOBYO tells a story of love lost, but never forgotten and second chances. Issac is such a lovable character and I loved that he got all the support he needed to pursue his love interest from Dan and Abby. I liked how steadfast he was despite all opposition and how he leaned to Lean of God in all he did till....(you'll get to find out when you read the book and I'm not giving away spoilers😉😁).

As for Oreva, she was just a girl blinded by love and it took divine intervention and losing something precious for her to receive sight and clarity. I'm glad she found redemption.

I pray nobody meets a Linus in this life because I dislike that guy's guts😠😠.

Adaora🤐🤐🤐. As for her case, how far is too far? Can you behave the way she did?, read NOBYO to find out what she did and if it were you, what would you do?
there are several life's lessons to learn from this book and what stood out for me is the art of patience and waiting on God who revealed His plan for your life to work it through.💯

I would rate NOBYO a 4.5⭐

Prepare yourself to dislike Linus from the first page because he will test your patience.

I found this story necessary for this generation. There are so many lessons to be learnt that I can't write them all down, when you read, you'll get them.

The things that stood out to me were
1) You are not exempt from entering a toxic or wrong relationship, regardless of whether the person claims to be a believer. Hear from God first, involve him in everything so you can know how to navigate the relationship with wisdom.
2) God's plan and timing are immaculate. However, obedience to him and alignment with his plan are very important. Going out of his plan can prolong the blessings he has for you.
3) Build a strong relationship with him individually before joining with another person. A firm foundation with him is very, very important.

Let me leave you with these three, even though there are a lot more lessons to learn from this fast-paced and easy-to-read Christian romance. Everything you want is here; the drama, the romance, the word, the teachings, and the quality of writing.

Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book. I can't wait to see more people reading it.

I had the privilege of being one of the beta readers for this book back in May/June, and I absolutely loved it.

Enewerome has a beautiful way of weaving important faith-based themes into her stories, while still giving space for love to bloom. This book was no exception… it’s heartfelt, impactful, and so well-executed.

My only tiny disappointment? No new song recommendation this time!
I’m still hooked on “Daddy Dada” from her previous book.

✨📖 No One but You, Oreva – Review ✨

💕✨ What happens when love, faith, and destiny collide? She planned a wedding with the wrong man… but God had other plans! 🙌🏽

This beautiful story follows Oreva and Isaac, childhood best friends who secretly shared feelings for each other 💕 but couldn’t be together because of a hidden reason tied to Oreva’s parents—something Isaac’s mother refused to reveal.

Life moves on, and Oreva begins dating Linus. Soon, they’re engaged 💍 and planning a wedding. But Linus is… let’s just say, the devil’s incarnate 😩🚩. He lies, cheats, and is emotionally abusive—not just to Oreva but to everyone around him. Sadly, Oreva doesn’t see it, even though it’s clear to everyone else. On the other hand, Isaac is convinced God told him Oreva is his wife 🙌🏽, but he’s deeply troubled and begins to question if he heard right when she continues her wedding plans with Linus.

What I love most is how this story reflects God’s love ❤️, patience 🙏🏽, and His guidance. God truly sees us, and He won’t allow His children to fall into destruction without providing a way of escape. Oreva’s sister’s quiet but consistent prayers for her touched me deeply—she never said it to Oreva’s face, but she was fighting for her sister in the spirit. 🕊️

Another refreshing part of this book is how Nigerian parents were portrayed 👨‍👩‍👧. Oreva’s parents were not harsh or distant, but loving, approachable, and intentional, they made sure their children could tell them anything. That was such a heartwarming shift from the usual portrayals.

This book also teaches genuine love 💖, the importance of fellowship, the person of the Holy Spirit, and introduces the inspiring Love Litmus Test 💡—something every reader will appreciate!

Honestly, this book is inspiring, emotional, and filled with wisdom. It’s proof that God’s love is at the center of the best stories. I would gladly rate it a solid (4.5/5)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

If you’re looking for a story that blends faith, love, family, and the power of prayer—this is it! 💃🏽📚✨
PS: God is a girl dad frrrrrr!!!!😌

‎I got this book as an ARC. Thank you to the author, and I absolutely enjoyed it!! It's my first time reading her work, and I wasn't disappointed at all!

‎This was an interesting story, and the way I was provoked at some characters, ehh, especially Oreva... Omo, that girl deserves like two knocks first!! 😂

‎I loved Isaac. He is a wonderful man: patient, God-fearing, spiritually inclined, and hardworking. It was just so unfortunate that he had to wait that long before he got to experience true love, all because of his adamant mother.

‎Linus is a big F00L...and a b@stard!!!! He's so manipulative. I was always irritated when I got to read any scene that involved his manipulative schemes. I don't even wish my enemy a man like Linus, fr! The name is even perfect—"LIENUS." 😂 Honestly, how was he able to stand bold on the altar to preach after his sins? Nobody is perfect, and I don't have a right to judge, but his own was too much!! Oreva was just too calm and blind to see. I don't blame her; it's love—love can make you lose your senses. 😂

‎I took note of the "love litmus test," and I can't wait to try it with the man I'd eventually fall in love with. To be honest, I thought it would be some rigorous process. 😂

‎I loved Oreva's family—the type that makes you remember that you're loved at home, no matter what or where you find yourself. I love parents that don't impose but offer guidance. Mr and Mrs Igbide passed that. 👏

‎Eloho is one of my favourite characters. I can't wait to read her story because I love her vibe already. ❤️

‎One thing that stood out for me, and I know this is fiction, was how the characters were able to hear from God. It's a big flex if you hear from God. You might think God doesn't hear you, but trust me, He does. He might not give you an answer immediately or talk to you directly, but He has a way of making things work in your favour. Also, God is willing to forgive and accept you with open arms, as long as you're willing to come clean before Him. God is merciful and good. 🙏❤️

‎Low-key, I was rooting for Zik and Eva, that I even gave their ship a name—ZIVA. 😍 But one thing I realized from this book is that everything that happens in this world is divinely orchestrated by God. He the one that created the universe; God is AMAZING! 🙌 I could give illustrations from this book, but I don't want to give spoilers. 😉

‎I can't wait for this book to be released so everybody can read it. This book is wholesome. ❤️

‎You'll love this book if you enjoy reading:
‎Christain Romance.
‎Second-chance Romance.
‎Best friends to Lovers.
‎Sexual Temptation.
‎Faith-based Books.

‎Rating: 4.5⭐—Oreva stressed me!

Orevaoghene “Revie” and Isaac “Zik” grew up inseparable—until betrayal, family secrets, and distance tore them apart. Years later, Revie is engaged to Linus, a charming pastor who looks like the perfect match…but the cracks in their relationship reveal manipulation, control, and gaslighting. When tragedy strikes, she’s forced to choose between the life that looks “right” and the love that’s been constant all along.

Oreva is the classic good girl in love with the wrong man — a man who is charming in public but emotionally neglectful, manipulative, and hot-and-cold behind closed doors. Linus isn’t just her long-term fiancé; he’s her spiritual leader, which makes the emotional control and subtle gaslighting that much more painful to read. But it’s written with care. It’s realistic. It’s triggering — and that’s what makes it powerful.

And then there’s Isaac (Zik). Her best friend. Her secret safe space. The man who’s loved her quietly for over a decade, who notices when she’s not okay, who texts her to say “I’m proud of you” when the man she’s with ignores her wins. Isaac is the soft landing we all deserve. I have so many feelings about him.

There’s a tension here that Christian romance rarely dares to explore: the battle between guilt, loyalty, and truth. Oreva tried so hard to do the “right” thing — but what happens when the right thing might be walking away?

What I loved:
•Faith lived out, not preached: The Christian themes aren’t just background—they shape choices, boundaries, and healing.
•Patience as romance: Zik’s love is steady, respectful, and deeply rooted in history.
•Cultural heartbeat: Names, speech, and Nigerian family dynamics make it feel so grounded.
•Slow burn perfection: Every glance, every memory, every almost-touch builds tension.

BEST FRIEND OR FIANCÉ —Who Would You Trust?
This story pulled me in right from the beginning with Oreva and her fiancé, Linus. From the start, Linus struck me as manipulative and narcissistic, always putting Oreva down, giving frivolous answers when she asked serious questions about their future, and even growing angry when challenged. Despite being a pastor, he was insecure, controlling, and even unfaithful.

On the other hand, we have Zik,Oreva’s best friend, who truly loved her but had been held back in the past because his mother disapproved of their relationship. I really felt the tension in his journey—knowing he had heard God say Oreva was his wife, yet watching her head toward marriage with someone so undeserving. When he tried to move on with someone else, only for that relationship to also fall apart, my heart went out to him.

One of the strongest parts of the book for me was how it tackled real issues—parental influence, spiritual discernment, broken trust, and the painful clash between God’s will and human choices. The family backstory (with Zik’s mother, Oreva’s parents, and the cultural/tribal conflict) added even more layers to the story.

What stood out most was the contrast between Linus and Zik. While Linus used manipulation and spiritual authority wrongly, Zik showed patience, honesty, and faith, even when things didn’t go his way. By the end, seeing Oreva finally break free and embrace love with Zik after forgiveness, healing, and parental acceptance, was both satisfying and hopeful.

I’d recommend this book to readers who enjoy Christian fiction that deals with faith, relationships, cultural expectations, and the importance of godly choices in love.

The emotions that ran through me as I read this book... oh boy! Joy, laughter, serious infuriation, and anger!😡 No One but You, Oreva is emotion loaded 100%.
No One But You, Oreva is a book of hope, restoration, love, and life lessons. Some characters are just so endearing while some in particular one will cause you to grab your hair and look for how to teach some good lessons.
Enewerome writes a beautiful story of true Love, faith, forgiveness, resilience, and family love. Isaac is a true gentleman who wants to do God's will at all times. The way he communicates with God- a true two-way communication and not just for the sake of it is enviable and worth emulating. Even in his pain, he still encouraged and stood as a true friend.
Oreva's desire to be married beclouded and prevented her from noticing red flags putting her on a path she never expected but with God, family support, and encouragement, she came out stronger and finally accepted true love, with someone who passed the love litmus test (love the concept of that test).
The siblings are simply amazing! Daniel, Eloho, and Onome are the type of siblings one needs to have in your corner. I love the banter, the honest talks and of course the way they rose to defend when needed especially Eloho.
The past almost destroyed the future but with God, there is true forgiveness and healing. A beautiful story especially with one particular character reaping the repercussions of previous actions. I am looking forward to reading Onome and Eloho's story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's a very good book. We're immersed in Nigerian culture with their expressions, their food, and it's a memorable experience.

Now, let's talk about the characters.

🫠Oreva, I think this is the first time in a book that I couldn't 100 per cent support the main character. Obviously, I wanted her to end up with Isaac, but she was so blinded by the fact that she wanted to marry Linus that at one point I couldn't stand her anymore. But after I came to understand her point. I felt a lot of compassion for her.

😍 Isaac is a really good guy, green flag character.

I really appreciated that for once, it wasn't the man who was the problem. Even though Isaac isn't so innocent either.

One thought I had about the novel was, why did Oreva end up in a toxic relationship? She grew up in a good family.
I think Isaac's mother's rejection left a deep mark on her, and she told herself she didn't deserve better.

Linus, a good wolf in sheep's clothing!!! Just red flags.

Big shout out to Oreva's little sister!!!!! The one who engaged in spiritual warfare for her sister's relationship 😂😂😂. I really loved her vibe ( I could see my sister in her lol ) can't wait to read her story!

I got to recieve an ARC and absolutely loved it.

It was an easy read and a really good story. Some characters were quite annoying but seeing the story unfold with them made it all the more interesting. I like how the author carries you along and seamlessly mixes aspects of faith in, without it being forced.

The story itself was very enjoyable and I think anyone who likes romance would like reading this. It tackles important topics as well. I was very keen to see where the different characters would end up and couldnt stop reading. There were parts where I felt suspense, relief, joy, annoyance, literally everything can be felt on different pages! Sometimes I would be smiling at my phone and aww-ing, sometimes I would burst out laughing. Other times I roll my eyes or scream inwardly at one of the characters.

It's a lovely book that made me feel all the feels and before I finished it, I went to pre-order the second one in the series.

Highly recommend for all the romcom, christian fiction readers. Especially if you are interested or curious about Nigerian culture.

ARC Review

Thank you Enewerome for the ARC and for this beautiful story :)

I really enjoyed No One But You, Oreva. The author’s writing pulled me in right from the start. If a book makes me feel something — whether anger, hope, or pure giddiness — that’s great writing in my opinion. I loved Oreva’s close-knit family, especially her tough-love sister Eloho who always had her back.

Zik is pure book boyfriend material. His consistency, kindness, and quiet persistence made him such a standout. He truly walked the talk. I also loved how seamlessly core Christian elements were woven into the story, from morning devotions to on-the-spot prayers, making faith feel natural and practical.

And the reason Oreva and Zik could not be together? Let’s just say I was ready to throw hands. This was an entertaining and heartfelt read. I am already looking forward to Eloho and Onome’s stories, and will read anything Enerewome writes.

Out August 17. KU readers, it’s included, so no excuses!

From page one, I knew this was going to be a GOOD READ‼️‼️ Because why am I seeing red flags from page one? Then page two and I saw a ticking bomb, how can somebody be engaged for 4 years?

NOBYO is a beautiful read, I finished it in a day but I can count how many times I paused just to think about what I had just read!

Eiiii, some of the characters tested my patience! At some point, I forgot I was reading a book😂😂😂, I just wanted to slap some sense into the FMC because howwww?? How can she not see what we are swing ehn?

The storyline is relatable, intriguing, entertaining and thought provoking.

In this life, make we Sha no meet men like Linus because this set of men can make you feel like the wrong when it's obvious they are.

I love Eloho's energyyy😂😂😂, I can't wait to read her story and Onome's.

I cried small 😂😂 because it's painful that years was wasted over something an apology and a conversation would have solved. Bitterness and unforgiveness isn't nice at all. Adaora didn't do well.

I totally love the idea of litmus test, it's so on point!

Initial thoughts : Loved the fact that there was a playlist with this story. I would describe it as a beautiful Christian second chance romance.
You will experience various emotions whilst your read this book. It’s a realist story that will keep you engaged from start to finish. I personal won’t call it a slow burn. I have read slower burns lol

Book overview:
Imagine living the life of a modern-day Jacob , Zik(Isaac) is in love with Oreva since age 18, they are best friends and each other’s confidant, but his mother is the stumbling block between them. God has assured Zik that Oreva will be his wife, but Oreva has settled and is in a needless long engagement with Linus, the unfit pastor.

Will they continue in this disastrous path or will God intervene and provide them with a second chance at love.
Read the story to find out.

You will fall in love with the side characters Eloho and Eva and despise Linus and Zik’s Mother

Theme such as Betrayal, temptation, tribalism and a hint of abuse is explored in this story

I highly recommend you read this story on release day on the 17th Aug!

I really enjoyed this book. Finished it in less than 72 hours, and that’s saying something because my week was packed.

No One But You, Oreva pulls you in with what looks like a sweet friends-to-lovers second chance romance, but there’s so much more going on.

This story is such a powerful reminder that it’s okay to be alone, to find yourself, and to trust God’s timing rather than settling for less. Isaac’s unwavering faith? Absolutely beautiful. He held on to what God told him, even when the situation looked impossible. Oreva really pissed me off, but I’m glad she came back to her senses.

The writing flows so well, the pacing is solid, and the characters feel real and relatable - flaws and all. It will make you feel frustrated, hopeful, and inspired all at once, while also asking big questions about love, faith, and waiting on God’s plan.

If you’re into faith-based romance, drama, second chances, and emotional journeys, No One But You (Book 1 in the Soul Sisters series) deserves a spot on your shelf.

No one but you, Oreva-
Normally, I let childhood friends be childhood friends maybe because I’ve had bad experiences growing up with them. I can never date my childhood friend! I started NOBYO dropping every bias and man, did it blow my mind? Over blew😄
The theme explored in this book was properly executed, most especially, Christ was revealed.
This book made me actually want love, I cried, I cried, this book is really good. The part that got me crying in public is the part Oreva was recapping what happened at Linus’ house.
Three things that stood out to me:
- Reva’s parents are the real definition of Christian parents- they gave meaning to “there is love at home"
- God is a restorer.
- Not all brothers in church are meant for you because they are “Christians”. I love that Oreva didn’t run from God and the church because of Linus with how rampant people have been using the word “church hurt” to stay away from church.
In other words, I highly recommend No one but you, oreva. Can’t wait for Onome’s Christmas story in December 💃

This is my first book by Enewerome and I was not disappointed at all. You know when you plan to read just a few pages before getting on with your day, but the book decides otherwise? That was my experience. Trust me, this book was unputdownable, thanks to the author’s use of simple, familiar language and vivid imagery that painted every scene in my mind.

‎I particularly loved the character development of both the FMC and MMC. My favorite though is Eloho, (Oreva’s younger sister). She is bold, blunt, and unafraid to speak the truth. She was a delight to read. I’m eagerly looking forward to her installment in the series.

‎Zik and Eva’s story was also very intriguing. I was rooting for them, but their arc reminded me that even when things don’t go as we plan, there is a greater hand weaving something far more beautiful than we can imagine.

I am giving this a 4/5⭐ rating and I highly recommend to anyone who loves a swoon worthy Christian romance fiction

I had the honor of being an ARC reader for NOBYO and truly enjoyed reading it. Every character was perfectly flawed, a balance of positive and negative characteristics (except for Linus who just made me angry the entire time). Enewerome attacks some major issues in today's society from a biblical worldview and a slightly different cultural context than I'm used to. There is so much beauty in this and Enewerome's use of Pidgin English fit her characters and storyline so well. Oreva and Isaac struggle in their relationships in the same way most people do. The story felt so real and familiar. Keep in mind, this book is a slow burn. And I mean, sloooooooww burn. I was starting to root for some other couples before I got to the end.

I can't wait for the other sisters' points of view!

Thank you to the author for this ARC!

The gaslighting started right from the first chapter—Linus truly deserves a good beating for the way he used scripture to manipulate Oreva. The biblical litmus test mentioned in the book? I’m definitely going to try it too (you’ll have to read to find out what it is).

I loved the character growth, especially how patient Zik was with Oreva. The author did a wonderful job exploring how long-term grudges can block new beginnings, weaving in themes of faith and the Holy Spirit beautifully.

This was such an enjoyable read for me. A solid 4 stars, and I highly recommend it!

Thankyou so much for letting me arc read this! This was such a sweet book. As a Christian, it was so nice to see a Christian romance with a second chance romance between 2 characters who really deserved each other. Yes, there was heartbreak along the way but in the end, God brought them together and they do truly make the perfect couple. I would love to see more of Eva and her side of things as it was nice to see her journey with God growing even after what happened to her. This was well written and I do recommend a read.

The older I get deeper is my understanding that God’s desire for His children is to receive the best He has to offer. We must never settle for less than He has prepared for us in advance.

We must also believe in the power of redemption & God’s perfect timing.

Before the story starts, the author has provided a glossary of terms that aids the non-Nigerian reader to gain a better understanding of the text.

I received this book free from the author, publisher, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.

Oreva and Zik’s story is the kind of slow-burn romance that aches in all the right places.
Two best friends torn apart by a betrayal they knew nothing about, a love that survived a whole decade, and a family secret with scars deep enough to shape their destinies… this book fed my Christian romance–loving heart.

I loved how Enewerome blended faith, emotional honesty, temptation, forgiveness, and the sweetness of a love that never really went away. The tension between choosing what feels safe and what feels true? Whew. Revie walked that line so realistically.

This was a fun read to see how another culture approaches dating, engagement, and marriage. This takes place in Nigeria and I loved seeing how the characters all put their faith in God first before anything else. This is a 4.5 for me mostly because I was getting confused with the author included native phrases. She does include a guide at the beginning that explains most of them and I was able to get the gist of what was being said which is why it is rounded up to a 5 star. Can't wait to read about Onome's story next.

Every Linus is now like a walking red billboard. At some point, I felt like slapping some sense into Revie. How could she allow someone named Linus to gaslight and manipulate her? Eloho is the kind of sister every woman needs in her corner. I won’t lie, Isaac and Revie stressed me out; I get that he’s a gentleman, but come on!

By the way, the playlist attached to this book was a solid 10 out of 10! 👌🏾

I read NOBYO within the space of few days and I really did enjoy every bit of it.
NOBYO is a Christian romance novel that dwells on a lady named Oreva; her shit-of-a-man fiance, Linus and her best friend, Isaac.
Personally, at some point I began to dislike Oreva because she clearly knew Linus didn't love her, he just loved the way she made him feel and she was just ready to settle but the crazy part is a lot of women are in this situation in reality. I hated Linus in every page I flipped through 😂 I don't wish him on any girl in this life

Oh, Ziky boy. How we all wish for a man like Isaac, God-fearing, kind and loving.
This book is a reminder that when you're around people who don't value you, they're beautiful people out there who will value you til eternity.

Adaora 😂 this woman is a case. I loved Oreva's family from her parents to her sisters. A supportive family indeed ❤️

I enjoyed every read of this book and Enewerome really did amazing with this piece ❤️

Why was Revie so in love with Linus 😂
The name is literally Lienus!

Do I recommend this heartfelt Christian romance with zero taboo ?? Absolutely 💙😊

NOBYO follows Isaac and Oreva, two best friends whose bond has always been more than friendship. In school, they finally chose each other, until Isaac’s mother suddenly opposed the relationship. Heartbroken, they parted ways.

Ten years later, they’re still besties but Isaac hasn’t moved on. Meanwhile, Oreva is engaged to Linus, a pastor who looks perfect on paper but is actually a walking red flag 🚩hidden behind spirituality.
However,a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, isn’t it ? …🫠🙃

I enjoyed the story, the plot, Isaac’s personality … More than once, I felt really bad for him. Loving someone while pretending to be “just friends” is painful.

✝️ NBYO is a faith-centered romance that explores emotional boundaries with parents, temptation in Christian relationships, forgiveness, and also choosing with God’s guidance. As a Christian reader, it felt honest and incredibly relatable.

The writing is very smooth. The atmosphere is warm, deeply rooted in Nigerian culture, with vibrant characters and food references that make the story feel alive.
