2.5 stars. Let me preface this review by saying I have done several Teachers in the Word Bible studies in the past. And they have been great! But this one was so different and here is my honest review after I have now finished it. If you go into this study thinking it is in those prior Bible study lines with a deep dive into a book or topic of the Bible and filled with ideas of how to apply the study to your teaching life, this is not that. If you go through this study hoping to get an in depth look at women in the OT, this is also not that. My group greatly struggled with this study as a whole. We supplemented it with additional videos and study materials and way more reading to get the whole story of these women. None were in depth and some didn’t even focus on the woman who was supposed to be the focal point. Some sections are definitely geared more toward mothers so if you are not one, especially if that is a spot in your life you are struggling in, those sections are pretty isolating feeling, or at least they were for me, in my own current struggles. A lot of this study felt like an afterthought or very rushed. I know myself and my group went into this one with high hopes after how much we all loved last year’s study. Just not the outcome that was anticipated.
