Alien Abduction #25

Yasmin and the Yeti

Rate this book
Abducted. Sold. Left to freeze.

Yasmin’s life shatters when she’s abducted by alien slavers and dragged across the stars. Escape seems impossible – until a raid throws the ship into chaos and she flees into the blinding snow of an ice world. But the frozen wilderness is just as deadly as her captors, and when her strength finally fails, she’s certain death has come for her.

Instead, she wakes in a warm cave wrapped in thick furs… and in the arms of a massive, white-furred alien who looks like every yeti myth come to life.

Rhaal has no use for offworlders. The huge Hothian warrior prefers his solitary life among the frozen peaks. But when he discovers a tiny, half-dead female in the snow, every protective instinct he thought long buried roars back to life.

She’s soft, fragile, and stubbornly brave. He’s gruff, scarred, and terrifyingly strong. Forced to share warmth and shelter, their attraction ignites a fire neither of them can deny.

But there are worse dangers on Hothrest than the cold, and soon Rhaal must choose between the lonely existence he’s always known or risking everything for the one female he can’t let go. Because she’s no longer just a rescued female.

She’s his mate.

Each book in the Alien Abduction series features a different couple and can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. Intended for mature readers.

Another fun and steamy sci-fi romance in the Alien Abduction series! This book can be read as a standalone in any order, with only a minor tie-in to earlier installments.

Human FMC Yasmin is abducted by aliens before crash-landing on an ice planet, where she’s rescued by the exiled MMC, a furry, yeti-like alien named Rhaal. Naturally, he takes her back to his cave to… keep warm. You know, with body heat.

This couple was sweet and endearing. They had some language barriers to overcome at first but quickly learned how to cohabitate and work through not only their personal struggles but also planetary disruptions. I enjoyed returning to the ice planet we visited several books ago and catching up with past characters.

This is a sweet and steamy addition to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Zinnia and the Zombie. But also, Phillips must have something else up her sleeve, because what about Polly? We can’t just leave her hanging!

Spice: 4/5
Plot:4.5/5
Writing: 4.5/5
My Enjoyment: 4.5/5

*** I received an ARC and am voluntarily, leaving my honest review.

This was a very sweet read. I really enjoyed it!

In this story, we meet human woman Yasmin, who’s kidnapped from Earth by aliens and Rhaal, a Hothian warrior, who rescues her when the alien slave ship crashes on his planet Hothrest. Out of fear and desperation, Yasmin chooses not to stay on the ship but to flee, hoping to find help in the cold, snowy landscape (or a soft deathà. Luckily, she’s found by Rhaal, a large alien with white fur all over his body, blue eyes and claws. He may look dangerous but deep down, he’s a gentle and kindhearted giant. Seven years ago, a great tragedy forced him to leave his clan for a life of solitude, living in a cave with little to no contact with others. The cave is now his new home. Although Yasmin is scared of him when she wakes up, Rhaal does everything he can to make her feel safe. He’s very careful and gentle but the fact that they can’t understand each other makes it harder to explain things. Soon, Yasmin understands that she’s safe with Rhaal. They learn each other’s language, word by word. Rhaal teaches Yasmin how to survive on his ice planet. The more time they spend together, the more they are attracted to each other. But Rhaal resists the pull, because what if Yasmin wants to return to Earth? If he claims her now, he would never let her go. And there’s the reason why he left his clan, the death of his sister Ayla. He feels very guilty that he couldn’t save her. He believes that he doesn’t deserve love or a mate. But the more time Yasmin spends on this strange, cold planet and in Rhaal’s presence, the more she realizes she belongs here with Rhaal. And just when they become mates, Yasmin gets very sick. The only one who can save her is the healer of Rhaal’s former clan. Rhaal has no choice, he must return to the people who blamed him for his sister’s death. But much has changed in the years that he was gone. This time Rhaal is older, wiser and has a mate to protect. Rhaal will prove to his former clan that he’s a worthy mate, hunter and warrior.

I really liked both characters. Rhaal was such a big softie, but don’t be fooled, he was also a dangerous warrior. He was very gentle and careful with Yasmin. He wanted her to be happy and feel safe. He loved his sister very much, so her lose hurt him very deeply. He blamed himself, but Yasmin showed him that he didn’t have to punish himself for that.

Yasmin was a very brave, intelligent and kind woman. He was creative and I liked it that she found a way to be creative again in her new home. She helped both Rhaal and Brol (Ayla’s mate) heal from past pain and become friends again. I was very happy for them.
Rhaal’s clan consisted of some interesting people. We got to know a few members better. They treated Yasmin and Rhaal well.

The story was told from both POV’s. There were a few sex scenes in the story.

I liked the ending of the story. I understand why Rhaal and Yasmin made that decision. The only thing that I personally missed at the end was an epilogue about Rhaal, Yasmin and their baby. But that’s just my opinion. I would have liked to know what a human/Hothian baby looked like. And to see Rhaal as a protective, caring father.

‘Yasmin and the Yeti’ is a sweet, steamy and lovely story.

It was alright, but 2.5 stars.
To me, the story felt as though it would have been done at like 40%, because there was absolutely no foreshadowing done to introduce the second plot of the story.
And the MMC's backstory didn't make sense without showing the reader a flashback of what really happened. Apparently there was a cave-in in which the MMC, his sister and her mate were involved in. The MMC was the only one not injured and tried to remove the fallen stones from the two others, but only succeeded in lifting the stones off of the mate. But then later it is said that he carried his sister's body back... The mate blames the MMC for not having been strong enough to also remove the boulders from his mate. The MMC puts himself in self-isolation away from the clan and the clan hates him for what happened.
Huh?
Also, in the end the MMC and other men of the clan have to fight and kill multiple people that are armed with energy blasters. Because the fighting will take place in a sacred place they choose to fight only with claws and fangs ( they aren't warriors from what I understood but hunters) to cause no further desecration of the place. It is said multiple times that they will easily win, because they have rage on their side...
Bruh, you ain't berserkers.
And there is no thought about maybe contacting the empire that is supposed to protect the planet... To protect the planet! What a plot hole.
Additionally I really got annoyed be the writing style. It was so cumbersome, so many things were repeated and an unnecessary amount of sentences was just a stack of realizations.

Later, as they made their way back to their cave through the quiet, snow-covered forest, he felt a peace he had not known in years. The weight of exile had been lifted. The burden of guilt had been eased. He had been welcomed back, not just tolerated but honored. Yet it was not the clan’s acceptance that filled him with this profound contentment. It was the small female walking beside him, her hand in his, her choice as clear as the stars above them. She had chosen him. Not just as a rescuer, not just as a protector, but as her home. And in her, he had found his.

We're creeping toward the end of the alphabet and this installment has human lady Yasmin meeting her special furry someone on an icy planet. He's guilt-riddled, stoically determined to keep Yasmin safe, and kind of into the soft human he stumbled over. Not that he wants to admit the last part, but Rhaal is pretty determined to punish himself for a tragic event he had little control over and liking the little human female is too good for a exile like him.

Rhaal's a good male, though. He might be tormented and have a lot of baggage to work through, but he's honorable and kind and maybe a little possessive of his human. As for Yasmin, she's sort of dealing with a lot. You know, since she was stolen from Earth, had to watch a fellow abductee sacrifice himself, and then crash-landed on a frozen planet. But she's alive and she's dealing with all that as best a person can.

It takes time for these two to work around the language barrier, but they don't let that stop them. And let's face it, the language barrier wasn't the only thing they needed to deal with considering Rhaal's immense guilt. But compassion and kindness are a universal language and it isn't TOO long until these two get where they need to be.

A little danger, only one bed, an off-world threat that could impact many, complicated family-adjacent dynamics, a male who needs to work through his guilt and pain, and a lady who found her place on an icy world with a furry hunk of a warrior. *thumbs up*

4 &1\2 fabulous🌟's for Yasmin and the Yeti!💖🌟🔥

I can't believe that this is book 25 in the series. I'm so worried that we won't visit the Empire again to see old friends and make new ones once book 26 is released. I'm hoping not read Polly's story as well as many more from one of my all time favorite universes. In this book we revisit Hothrest a cold icy world whose inhabitants look like earth legends of a yeti. Yasmin, taken from outside her job on her way home wakes up in an alien vessel can't understand any of the beings she encounters and feels lost scared and alone. The ship crashes and she escapes dying the chaos. But the weather on thus planet is unforgiving. Just when all was about to be lost Rhaal finds her in the snow and rescues her. At first she's scared but after a bit she realizes bit good Rhaal is to her and how he protects her. Neither have a language translator so they spend a lot if time getting to know each other and teaching each other their respective languages. Trust blooms between them, love grows and danger lurks behind icy cold mountains. Can Rhaal protect what he loves and not allow the Ord to continue to haunt him and can Yasmin accept she never ill never see earth again and reach out for the love and new sense of home she's finds in Rhaal? You will have to read and find out it q fantastic story highly recommend!🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🌟🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🌟🔥💖💖🔥🌟

Another one that was more closely focused on the romantic relationship, for the most part. I didn't remember much from the previous book set on Hothrest, but it was easy to understand the world set up. I think there are some time jumps that aren't stated, which did throw me off a little bit.

Human Yasmin was abducted and transported across the universe by her captors to be traded when the spacecraft crash lands on Hothrest, whose denizens are varied, but the predominant species in the mountainous areas are giant white furry Sasquatch-type humanoids. The one who rescues a nearly frozen Yasmin is Rhaal, who’s been living in a self-imposed exiled since a tragic accident claimed his sister’s life and left her mate with permanent injuries.

After Yasmin and Rhaal commenced to learn one another intimately, they soon need the clan and its attendant healer to help Yasmin survive her delicate condition. Once surrounded by Rhaal’s clan members and fellow warriors, it becomes evident that there is corruption afoot in the form of unwelcome visitors stripping resources and poisoning the area fish. Rhaal must lead the clan on a mission to dismantle the rogue operation and return the ecosystem to its natural state.

As with all Honey Phillips’ sci-fi romances, the steam is on point. I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and booksprout, and I’m sharing my honest review.

Yasmin finds a rare friend🐦‍⬛ on board the ship 🛸 of the aliens that have taken her. But just two days offer losing him the ship 🛸💥crashes on a winter ❄️planet of Hothrest. She has finally gotten cold ❄️enough to just lay in the snow storm 🌨️and sleep when something stumbles across her resting place.
The Hothain native Rhaal the yeti type people finds and follows tracks👣 in the snow leading away from a crashed ship by his cave. He never thought he would find his mate lying in the snow freezing. They have a rough go of things since her captures didn’t give her an implant 🦻but Yasmin and Rhaal find their own way to stumble through their day to day life together.
They are so fun to read about. It’s a good thing that they get their chance before anything really bad happens to Yasmin by the bad aliens 👽. Their journey to parenthood 🤰also has its own unique twist that brings them back into the fold of his people. When they get there the clan needs help finding out why they cannot get answers to their medicine 💊 problems and turn to Rhaal to look for them. Which uncovers some very interesting and important information.

When strength and abiding love changes everything.

“This was what it meant to be whole again. To have something—someone—worth fighting for. Worth living for.”

Sometimes a story is so much more than you could imagine at the beginning of the book. This is a compelling, emotional story where all the characters make their way into your mind and heart. It is exquisitely written with strong, complete beings who have the strength of will to survive through life’s trials and rewrite their own destiny. Yasmin is a human abducted by slave traders who lands by accident on Rhaal ‘s planet. While it is a story about two souls overcoming language barriers, cultural differences, and personal pain, it develops into a richly complex tale with plenty of action in the face of danger. Danger that challenges all of Rhaal’s skill as a Hothian warrior - not only for them but his clan as well. I truly hope there will be Polly and Njkall’s story soon ❤️.

Loved Yasmin and Rhaal!
Yasmin was kidnapped from Earth and wakes up on a spaceship that ends up crashing on a planet during a snowstorm. She figures she will take her chances in a snowstorm rather than what was waiting for her with the aliens who kidnapped her.
Rhaal is a Hothian warrior that has exiled himself from his clan. While out hunting he sees and hears the crash and then finds Yasmin near death from the elements and takes her back to his cave.
She is scared at first because he looks like a yeti and they don’t speak the same language. She realizes he doesn’t mean to harm her and they work on communicating with each other.
Yasmin gets very sick and needs a special medicine but they come to find that the medicine that was once plentiful is almost gone. Rhaal knows he has to find out why because he refuses to lose someone else he loves especially not his mate.
I loved everything about this story!

I really enjoyed Yasmin & Rhaal's story in this most recent addition to the Alien Abduction Series and how the two of them helped one another to heal from their past experiences. This story had great world building and several interesting side characters as well. The epilogue at the end was really sweet and also gives a nice look into how both Yasmin & Rhaal as well as a few other members of his clan are doing a few months later. I look forward to reading the next (and last) book in this series Zinnia and the Zombie: A SciFi Alien Romance.

This was another fun and spicy addition to the series. This can be read as a stand-alone, if you're new to the author, but this series is so great that it's just fun to read them in order ;) Yasmin, a human gal, gets kidnapped and then crashed on an ice planet. Rhaal, a yeti like being, rescues her and I love how patient and protective he was of her. Nothing like fated mates to spur that ;P Thankfully, Yasmin is quick witted and compassionate, as she has to learn to understand she's safe with him, to communicate with him and also learn a new culture. These two are sweet together but there's danger afoot for them to deal with on top of the rest. They also have a personal healing journey included in their story arc and I enjoyed that they both did, giving them great balance. Expect to get caught up in the action, suspense, danger and hot chemistry as they work their way to a fab HEA. And with a sweet epilogue, this was a page turner for me :D

I have been reading this series from day one! It is one of my favorite that Honey has and I've not missed one!! We have one letter of the alphabet left I don't know if I should be excited because we've come this far or sad because the alphabet ends!

The story has multiple characters who achieve personal growth throughout it. You have an abducted woman who ends up being the sole survivor of a crash only to find herself in the care of a Yeti-like alien. You have the alien who has removed himself from his clan for years due to feeling like he let his family and friends down. Then you have his best friend is growing in his own personal way. Among others! Even though the alphabet is ending I'm hoping we're coming back to this planet in the future, maybe for another spin-off!!

These do not need to be read in order so go ahead and grab this one and enjoy, then if you haven't read it, grab the rest. Head on back to letter A, Anna's story.

A heartwarming story of two wounded souls drawn together by fate, survival, and sizzling chemistry.

Yasmin is courageous and compassionate. She's brave enough to take risks for the chance at freedom, even if it sends her into a dangerous, snowy, icy world. She doesn’t recoil in terror at Rhaal's size, strength, or alien features. She recognizes the kindness beneath his yeti-like appearance. She trusts Rhaal despite their differences, and trusts in the possibility of love even after loss and captivity.

Rhaal’s world has been cold—literally and emotionally—until Yasmin arrives. Her warmth, patience, and willingness to see the soul beneath the fur break down his walls. She’s not just a damsel he rescues; she rescues him from a life of isolation and emotional numbness.

Through shared danger and quiet moments in the cave, he begins to see her not as a responsibility but as an equal, someone who sees him, not just the protector.

The slave ship crashed on a frozen planet, and Yasmin was able to escape. With ill fitting boots and a cape, she squeezed out the door into the falling snow and wind. She trudged through the snow until her meager strength was depleted. As she crumbled to the ground, she saw a huge white shape coming towards her and she passed out. When she woke, she was in a cave, wrapped in furs and a creature was watching her. A Yeti was crouched by the fire.
Rhaal was out hunting and saw the ship crash. The decision to check it out was a good one. He found Yasmin. But does he take her to the spaceport and continue his self imposed exile, or does he keep her? His instincts awakened when he caught her fragrance.
I love the alphabet series, book 25 is so good, just like the rest. A slow burn romance, with sadness, grief, guilt, acceptance, danger and the strength to grow. They also struggle to communicate. Enjoy this tale, enjoy the series.

Another excellent story about finding love and second chances. Not necessarily the traditional second chance. But facing the past , finding peace and love and new beginnings for more than one person in the story.
I loved Yasmin. She had to learn a new language and culture. She was able to think quickly. She was also compassionate and empathic to others. It came naturally to her, even after what happened to her.
Rhaal was so patient with her and protective. He was also struggling with his past guilt which she was able to help him with.
Loved the suspense, action and steam to the romance.
After reading the story you just want to sigh and close your eyes and say yes to their adventure in discovery.

Potentially offensive items: nudity, adult situations, interspecies sex, sexually explicit, threatened rape, offensive language, violence, violence against women, mature themes

Yasmin is abducted from Earth, but before her abductors have their way with her, their ship crash lands on an icy planet. Clothed minimally, she braves the storm to flee and collapses in front of one of the natives, who resembles a Yeti.

So, the getting-to-know-you/falling-in-love story is about half the book, and then you get a second adventure tacked on the end. There are sex scenes in this, and they are eye-rolling over-the-top with the crude language that accompanies spicy romances. Since most of the book was so tame, these were kind of an abrupt insertion that broke up the story. The ending also seemed a little unbelievable.

This was emotional from the get go. I was flabbergasted, meeting a new species/ friend under such horrific circumstances would have such a devastating effect.

Initially I thought this was a bit slow in the beginning, but dang was I wrong. Two lost individuals finding a familiarity and a foundation that blossoms into an amazing love story.

The characters and world building in this snow ridden tundra makes you want to bundle up.

The new found friendships that develop make you crave for their stories. Hint hint Honey.

Through heartache and pain redemption triumphs. A love story with a HEA 💜.

Yasmin is abducted by aliens and wakes up in a cage, destined to be sold as a sex slave. Right from the first chapter I was drawn into her world and felt her despair and grief at the fate of her fellow captor Kra’ caow. When the transport ship she is on crashes, she escapes into the icy expanse of Hothrest, only to fall exhausted and near death in the snow. Rhaal has isolated himself from his clan since his sister’s death and when he finds Yasmin collapsed in the snow, feels he has a chance to do what he couldn’t with his sister – save her life. It turns out Yasmin is his mate, and he is the most protective and loving yeti you could wish for as a mate. An emotional, not quite slow burn romance.

Loved it! I also love the fact that these books don’t have to be read in order. I personally have only read like three of the books in the series but it is still just as amazing.
Yasmin is so wonderful. I loved how she stayed strong through her abduction and then when she ended up on Hothrest she rolled with everything so well. I loved their slow progression toward love as they learned to communicate and understand one another. I love how Yasmin seemed to understand Rhaal even without being able to talk to him. And Rhaal was such a tormented soul! So many of the characters went through such great growth and I loved every moment of it. Amazing characters, superb story line and fantastic chemistry. Loved it all!

I did receive an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

'She was safe. She was well.
The last thing he remembered before sleep claimed him was that strange lightness in his chest, as though a tiny crack had formed in the wall around his heart.'

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Yasmin and Rhaal. This story was fast-paced and exciting from the start. My heart broke for Kra'caow, as I'd wished for he and Yasmin to meet again. I loved that this story has the language barrier trope because Yasmin wasn't given a translator after she was abducted. It's one of my favorite- and less used- tropes because it allows the characters to bond and trust over actions and gestures rather than just words.

This was such a beautiful romance and I'm sad there's only one book left in this amazing series. 5 stars

Love mends what is broken!
We’re back in Hothrest again; it’s cold, but with such fascinating aliens. Well, rightly speaking, the humans are alien here. Rhaal is so careful, so sweet. I adore him. And Yasmin - pretty brave to take on such a unique being. I love how she takes initiative in their relationship, and how she extends her love of jewelry making to her current circumstances. It brings her joy outside her romance with Rhaal, and common ground with other women. I love this story! It’s sweet romance, filled with adventure and hard-won victories. Excellent storytelling - the kind that keeps me returning to this author’s books.

Yasmin and the Yeti by Honey Phillips tells the story of Yasmin, a human stolen from Earth, and a tall, white furred male who saves her after the space ship she is on crashes. They learn to communicate and survive the harsh winter together, she healing from frostbite as he attempts to heal from losing his sister 7 years ago. After they fall in love she becomes pregnant, falling ill and needing a lifesaving rare elixir, but the source is being poisoned by offworlders. He finds the secret lab and leads warriors on a mission to destroy it, saving his people. Wonderful story.

Yasmine and the Yeti: Alien Abduction Book 25

It was so nice getting back to Hothrest! Its amazing how these human women grow and thrive on these alien planets. We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Yasmine knew her mind and was not taking no for an answer. I love these stories when the "hooman" takes control. This also clears up the bad Kaisarian who were trying to make the sothiti for profit stealing is from the Yeti clan. Excellent. This kind of closes down another section left by earlier stories. We also get to see Polly again. Great stories! I'm only sad because there is only one more story left.

Overall this was a really sweet and spicy read! Rhaal was such a sweet, tenderhearted character. I absolutely loved how respectful and caring he was with Yasmin. Despite his traumatic past, Yasmin was the perfect balm to his soul to help him heal in the ways he needed to most. Their connection was tender, genuine and so wholesome to witness. Beyond their loveable relationship, the spicy times between them definitely warmed the cave up with how hot it got.
Another part of this book that I also really liked, was getting to see Rhaal heal with his tribe. This whole book was just a really light, wholesome, wintery read that made my heart feel happy and full by the end.

A Heartwarming Return to the Ice World

I’m so happy and so sad. There is only one book left in one of my favorite series! I will miss the Kaisarian empire when the last book comes next month, but I’m so glad we have Yasmin and her scary/sweet/broken snow monster. The two coming together to make their lives and their world better is a tale of love and resilience we all need right now. So much love for Honey and this universe that 25 books in I can’t get enough of. If you have read the other Honey Phillips books, of any series, this book will not disappoint.

Another book in this epic series of abduction tales. In this book we have Yasmin who finds herself abducted by slavers. When an incident occurs on the ship, she soon finds herslef on a frozen planet. Rhaal is a warrior and prefers his solitude. When he comes across Yasmin, his protective side hits and he takes her ome to care for. This book is there adventure to their hea. A great read as always in this series.
