Age gap? Check. Off-limits? Double check. Still gonna climb him like a tree? Absolutely.

A small-town M/M age gap romance with sass, steam, and zero chill.

Sammy
I’m not saying I have daddy issues, but… I desperately want my best friend’s dad. Don’t judge me. Have you seen Cole? Seventeen years older, rugged as hell, and so kind it should be illegal. I’ve been low key in love with him since college. Now I’m back in town, shamelessly flirting and fantasizing. If something doesn’t happen between us soon, I might just leave because watching him from a distance while pretending I don’t want to climb him like a tree? Torture.

Cole
Sammy is trouble wrapped in glitter and sass. And I cannot stop looking. He’s my son’s best friend, which is basically the universe yelling “NO!” with a megaphone. He’s also younger, hotter, and way too sweet for a guy like me. But he’s not making this easy. Every flirty smirk, every swing of those hips, every sassy comment makes it harder to keep my distance. I’m about to break, and considering he just fell in my lap dressed in short-shorts and a crop top, it’ll be soon.

Content Most of the book is humorous and lighthearted. But there are a few things you might want to be aware of ahead of time.
• Ecstatic use of the F word
• Copious amounts of the D word
• A sparkly guy who is very enthusiastic and unapologetic about sex
• A vile father who has a few pages of him being angry and latching onto arm. Nothing intense and help is immediate.
• Psychological response to toilet-licker father. Nothing intense and help is immediate.

I had never heard of this author, but this was a refreshing, sweet, fun, thoughtful, and quirky story. It had all the things! 😊. I’m looking forward to the next installment.

- No third act breakup
- Communication - each is nervous to tell the other how much they care. But otherwise, they talk and are very open and supportive of each other.
- Sammy is a 24 yr old graphic artist struggling to get by and is hiding from his homophobic and controlling father; Cole is a 41 yr old owner of a construction company and single dad of a 24 yr old son (Sammy’s best friend).
- No OM/OW
- Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ starts around 50%(?) and continues from there. No awakening; they are both open about their sexuality.
- Son’s best friend; 17 yr age gap. Neither of these are really an issue and the playful relationship between all three is really fun.
- Dual POV/HEA - engagement.

Sammy is around 24 yrs old and met Nate, his best friend, in college. He is openly gay and loves to dress in a very, fem and fun way. He has also secretly been interested in Nate’s 41 yr old bi dad, Cole. Meanwhile, Cole has had a thing for Sammy ever since he first met him 6 yrs ago.

It all starts when Sammy pretends to be drunk at a bar and falls onto Cole’s lap and then goes home with him to “sleep it off”. Cole takes care of him and then things progress from there. The tension comes from these two admitting their attraction (despite the age difference and son’s best friend) and getting together and also from Sammy’s terrible family. I love how Cole fully accepts Sammy as he is and their dynamic together is really cute.

- opposites attract
- close proximity; Sammy goes to live w Cole when Cole sees the decrepit cabin where he’s been living
- age gap/son’s best friend
- homophobia/emotional abuse (Sammy’s dad)
- all the support and love

Cute

This was very sweet. Cozy and cute with a little bit of spice, although there are some references to trauma . Sammy, one of the MMCs, is a little flamboyant and has some of the funniest dialogue in the book. All in all a very enjoyable read. I'm now curious for Nate's story.

As Sparkly As You

Loved it!!

Sammy’s personality was everything!!

It wasn’t too bad of an age gap and I loved all the side characters.

Not too much spice as well but I felt that works for the lightheartedness of the book. Can’t wait to read more!
