I have to say, I liked it from the very first few pages! I honestly didn’t expect it. In the film and novel, Belle’s dad always came across as just an ordinary old man, but in the comic, he’s actually super handsome when he was young! (At least to me, he totally is!) I’d seriously recommend getting the comic just to see what he looks like, 🫴🏻🫴🏻 he’s got this raw charm, especially with that bit of beard on his chin, lol.

And Belle’s mom? She’s a gorgeous lady. Like on a completely different level. She’s WAY prettier than Belle herself. Every time she appeared, the page just looked instantly better. I kept thinking, “Wow, no wonder Belle turned out pretty, but her mom totally wins.” She’s so elegant and beautiful that the whole story feels brighter whenever she appears.

As for the story itself, it’s basically identical to the original novel. Some of the dialogue is literally copy-and-paste, with only a few small tweaks here and there. But even so, the overall effect is totally different. The comic feels much warmer and more enjoyable to read. If you’ve already finished the novel, I really recommend checking out the comic too, it gives a whole new mood to the same story.

Visually, it leans more towards a Japanese manga style, which makes it feel lighter and more expressive compared to the traditional Western Disney aesthetic. That difference alone makes it worth reading. It really gives you a fresh, charming new take on a familiar tale. Highly recommended! (And let me tell you, I kept coming back to look at Belle’s dad every few pages… 🤫he totally stole the show for me)

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this one because I've already read the book, but I ended up really enjoying this, and I will absolutely be continuing with the rest of the manga that comes out in this series. I loved the mix of the Twisted story and the classic Disney movie art.

Illustrazioni stupende, mi aspettavo qualcosa di un pochino diverso.
Una rivisitazione della storia di un altro tipo perché così è molto fedele alla storia originale della disney, c’è solo l’aggiunta della storia della mamma.

Well this was fun!
The novel has been on my TBR for AGES. So I'm glad they are now adapting the series to manga's.
A couple of things where to be expected but I really liked the story. It was a lot of fun seeing the characters during flashbacks, when they were young, and then again during the current storyline.

The only negative thing I have to say is that I had to wait incredibly long before they were referenced on Goodreads.
