Raw. Real. Emotional Romance. Writing provocative and darker themed romance that always finds its happily ever after!
With 50 plus, full length books there is a story for everyone! Cowboy romance? Got it! Small town... yep. Big city rock star? Covered! You like a little suspense? Yep, got a few of those too.
Most of my books are standalone stories in connected series. Whether it's the setting, theme or family connections, my series are often multi-generational and span decades. While each book is a complete story, beloved characters will pop in and out of these sagas. I stick to new adult, contemporary and western romances, with tons of emotion and all the feels tucked into them.
I live in the rainy area of Western Washington, and spend as much time as I can traveling to destinations all across the state, where I do all things outdoors. Many of these locations become the settings for my books. I earned my business degree from Western Washington University, and worked for several years in the construction management field before turning to writing full time.
I know going into anything by Leanne to expect to be an emotional mess through most of the book. She didn’t disappoint. By Chapter 5 I had tears in my eyes. I was also a little scared going into this one because of who the main characters were.
In the last book we met two couples. One looked to have the perfect marriage with two kids. The other couple you knew from the start was going to be a disaster of epic proportion. As this book starts out we find out the perfect marriage has ended in a way that leaves both the wife and the two children devastated. No the husband doesn’t die. The other couple was exactly where you expected them to be. The wife is a train wreck and a neglectful mother with the husband trying to keep his business and his child safe and realizing he made a mistake in marrying so fast before he really knew the woman he was getting married to.
These two couple’s are connected via the wives. They are sisters. But they couldn’t be more different from each other but even with that they have a strong bond. The last two books in the series have been about the 3 Hendricks sisters. The Best Friend was Gretchen’s story but we also met her two other sisters Tracy and Vickie. Vickie has always been the flighty sister that always needs her sisters to bail her out of something and Tracy has been the sweet stable sister who’s been married for 12 years and is a great mother.
The opening scene of Tracy realizing that the man she has loved with all her heart for over 14 years has done something so deplorable and to avoid going to prison ops to just walk away from her and their children was heartbreaking. Before leaving he asks his brother in law Donny to look after them.
That was the start of two people both grieving over their losses and the unfairness of what life had thrown at them come to depend on each other to help each other and their children through very rough times. Where the problem comes in is Donny realizes he is married to the wrong sister.
I don’t want to give too much of the plot away other than to say I just didn’t know how the author was going to make it to where these two people who were perfect for each other could ever be together. And if you’ve ever read Leanne before you know she doesn’t make it easy for her couples but this one had the taboo of both being married. There were plenty of emotional and angst filled moments before the ending but I am very satisfied with how it all worked out. Kudos Leanne to another great book!!!
This series is so good. Each book is connected, yet so different from the last. As I was reading this book , i couldnt help but wonder how Tracy and Donny would work out. I thought their love would be buried into years of silent broken hearts. What a scandal, but it wasn't. How a person can take an affair and make it not really an affair but beautiful and right and heart warming...i dont know but this author managed it and well.
I was pleasantly surprised I like this book as much as I did. I had high hopes but I wasn't to sure when I got into it and realized where it was going. So I may have spoilers so be warned. Micah is a totally A Hole! Glad he did what he did but I didn't like how it affected his kids or his wife. I do have to say Tracy handled herself well not only that but she was a rock and a saint for her kids. I can't image how hard all that would have had to be on her. Then add watching her niece most days as well, crazy. Vickie needs her head shake she is an ungrateful little piss ant and I wished she had done what Micah did. That would have saved everyone heartache but she was to selfish for that.
Donny now what do I say about him. He confused me. First he loves his wife then he doesn't then he wants to be there for her because he has a child with her. But I don't think he really knew what he wanted esp when she got back from rehab. The beach I get that it was all going to come to a head esp with how much his feeling and her feeling had grown but I do wish he had been unattached before it really started that's just me. But yeah I loved these book they made me think and feel and question and days later they pop up in my head and I have all new thoughts and feelings. And some time my opinion changes. So what more can you ask from a book really.
A pesar de que algunas cosas fueron exageradas y otras un poco tiradas de los pelos, me encantó el drama. La pareja también pero, repito, algunas escenas fueron medio irreales.
Buen libro para leer tomando sol (aunque odio el sol).
Donny Lindstrom married Vickie Moore only months after meeting her and being warned by her family that she was not the settling down type and because she was pregnant with their daughter, Julia. But now he understands the warnings and is struggling with Vickie's drinking and spending their money and not taking care of Julia.
Tracy McKinley has been married to Micah for years and everyone believed they had the perfect marriage. Tracy was mom to Ally and Kylie and was happy until Micah drops news on her which changes everything in an instant. Now Tracy must pick up the pieces and try to go on for the sake of her daughters.
With the choices that Micah made both Donny and Tracy must come to terms with their lives and Donny forces Vickie to tell her family about her battles with alcohol. When Vickie heads to rehab will Tracy help Donny with Julia and can Donny in turn help Tracy?
With both Tracy and Donny in bad situations will Donny realize he married the wrong sister?
I enjoyed this book and knew right from the last one that there were going to be problems with Vickie and Donny.
Donny was taken advantage of a little by Vickie as she got pregnant so fast as she didn't want to lose him and Donny had done so well for himself. But with what happened to Micah, Donny was left with nothing and had to begin again in a sense and really didn't want handouts. But he couldn't afford to send Vickie to rehab so he needed her families help. I was so mad that her parents were in such denial of what was wrong with her and how they were not really seeing what was happening with Julia either.
My heart just broke for Tracy and what Micah did to her but she was lucky that she wasn't in as bad of shape as Donny due to what Micah paid off. I understood why her kids began to change and it just broke my heart at the damage that Micah did and how Tracy struggled to make everything "normal" again. It also made me frustrated that her parents weren't really there for her either.
I wasn't surprised at the gradual chemistry between Tracy and Donny as the two were both left picking up pieces. I knew it was going to end up creating a lot of family tension and drama and was just waiting for it. I was kind of disappointed that it appeared that Donny was cheating but I knew he felt like his marriage was long over.
I was really happy when Tracy was able to put herself first and go for what she wanted. She finally got the courage to go for what she wanted and deal with the consequences and I was so happy when her dad stood up for her!
I am curious to see if Vickie will get her own book and turn her own life around!
This is the fourth book in the Sister Series. I didn’t know that when I started reading this book. I am thinking that even though it is a series, they work as stand-alone books.
When we open this book we find Tracy finding out that her husband has been embezzling from some clients. He has lost everything that they had and Donny, his best friend, life savings. One of the bigger clients he stole from was his father and he found out. The father gave him a week to get things in order and pay him back, after that if he couldn’t then the police would be called. Tracy finds out that her husband had left. Instead of being arrested, he created a whole new identity and flew the coop.
Tracy has been helping Donny with his daughter. Her mother is Tracy’s sister. Tracy’s sister is an alcoholic and can not take care of her small child. They are both thrown into the worse things a family can go through. What will become of them?
I really liked this book and I am all set to read the next one in the series. I may have to read the ones before it. This was a different story then I have read in a while. The way she described the nuances of how all of this effect both of them. It is normally hard to figure out what is really going on but she makes it easy. I am excited to see what her next book will bring. I am thinking that you would love to read this one. If you are looking for a realistic, painful book that always has hope then you are in for a treat.
My God, this author is an amazing wordsmith with her descriptive writing, emotional plotting and well-developed, three-dimensional characters. It has been amazing to read this series so far, and even when the material feels wholy unrealistic or truly bizarre, Leanne Davis always finds a way to bring you around to her way of thinking and the unlying issues that draw the characters together. She pulls no punches here, when Tracy, the straight, smart and sensible sister's entire world is blown apart by her husband's deception. Donny, the smart and sensible younger brother to Tony Lindstrom, finds that being married to the sexy, wild and uninhibited sister, Vicky, is not the joy he hoped his life would be, especially with a baby at home. Donny finds his world about to implode because of his wife's addictions and actions, as well as being financially affected by Micah's misdealings. Through pain, sorrow, betrayal, broken trust, and heartbreaking anger, somehow, Donny and Tracy become best friends, confidantes, and helpmates. Is there any wonder that more could be ahead for them if only it didn't feel wrong, GROSS (according to her daughters), and yet right in so many ways? You have to read this book and let yourself be swept away!
It's very hard to write a review for this book without telling the whole story. But if you know this author's work, you know it was well worth a read. It deals with some hard issues such as alcoholism, infidelity, family dynamics and drama. Tracy thought her and Micah had the perfect life. For 12 years they had led an idyllic life with two daughters. But then Micah drops a bomb on their lives by confessing to a horrible crime and instead of giving in to authorities he abandons his family to run from the law. Tracy is left to pick up the broken pieces of her and her daughters hearts and lives. Tracy arises from the ashes of her broken marriage into the arms of her brother-in-law Donny whose own marriage is complicated by his wife's alcoholism, a wife who would rather drink herself to oblivion than deal with motherhood and her marriage. Both will have to decide if the forbidden realms of their relationship is worth the devastation it will cause in their family. After all, Donny is married to Tracy's little sister Vickie. I'm never disappointed in the end by any of Leanne Davis's books. I'm always in awe of the depths of each story. Well written, well defined characters, intense story lines, and never afraid to bring difficult sometimes taboo subjects out of the closet.
I love contemporary messy/tangled/off limits relationship stories (sexy, not smutty) and this doesn’t disappoint. Can’t find a tag/list for that so feel free to message me with recommendations.
The first 1/3 dragged a bit as the author flipped back in time with backstory. Once the story kicked into constant real time I found myself wanting to see what happened next and how she would create the inevitable/predictable resolution. The latter 2/3 writing was good and the characters both believable and relatable.
However, in the first 1/3, the author overuses a literary technique of repeating herself. When she wants to make a point, she uses different words and information to say the same thing over and over and over and over again. Redundant sentences can be a very effective technique to establish the significance of something but should be used sparingly. This technique was used so frequently that I could quickly identify when she was going to engage in one of these screeds and could have finished the paragraph for her. Don’t be deterred by these tedious interludes, the story is compelling and makes an excellent study in messy relationships.
Having met Vickie Moore in book # 3, you will start this book by knowing how you feel about her. While this story does include a lot of Vickie, it is the story of Tracy, Vickie's older sister, and Donny, Vickie's husband, and how Tracy and Donny lean on each other to overcome the harshness that life throws at them.
Yes, this story is about exactly what you think, but if you give it a chance, the author will help you understand the love that blooms between Donny and Tracy, and you will be rooting for them to accept the love that they share for each other.
This is book #4 in the series. If you don't want to read all the books preceding this one, I recommend that you read book #3, so you understand who Vickie is.
This was another well written book by this author, and I enjoyed learning more about the characters as well as listening to the well done narration.
The Wrong Sister follows Tracy and Donny. Tracy has been happily married for over 10 years with 2 daughters until her husband steals money from his clients, embezzles and then sets up a new identity and leaves her. Donny, is married to Tracy’s sister, Vickie, who he discovers got pregnant to trap him into marriage, is an alcoholic and has spent all his money and racked up debts. When Donny sends Vickie off to rehab Tracy looks after his daughter and he helps her out with her kids. The 2 strike up a friendship which they both desperately need but their feelings, however much they try to deny them change. It’s an impossible situation for them both and wrong in everyone’s eyes, including their own. It took me a while to get into this book but then I really warmed to Donny and Tracy and really felt for their situation.
This a love story between a woman and her sister's husband. I loved this book. It was a short read.
So h's husband was caught doing fraud with the company he worked for so he leaves his wife and kids. H has his own issues with his wife who is an alcoholic and forgets to care for their baby which is why H counts on his sister in law to help care for her. h at first doesn't want to help with baby anymore because she is now a single parent and still dealing with her husband's betrayel but she takes care of her anyway. h grows close to her sister's husband as he becomes somewhat of a pseudo dad to her girls and she becomes a pseudo mom to his baby. There is a HEA. No you don't have to read the other books- I didn't. It's such a beautiful story of forbidden love, heartbreak, and family relations. Highly recommended!

This one had a lot of different emotions. Tracy went through all the stages of grief. Mad at a betrayal. Sad of the life that she knew was lost. Denial in that maybe she could reunite her family and be happy once again. She was used, abused and neglected. Donny was trying to hold everything together the best way he knew how, and I think he felt lonely. No one knew his stress and his secrets. They were able to lean on each other, family but mostly strangers, and it wasn't always positive. I appreciated that Donny actually saw Tracy when others liked to toss her to the side and he made her feel important. Sometimes life is messy and not perfect. Sometimes it's not as simple as black or white, or right of wrong. Sometimes you just need to find someone who will make you their person.
I never know what to expect when picking up one of Leanne Davis. She is quickly turning into my favourite writer. Micah leaves Tracy to avoid going to jail for money laundering. His father being the one behind it. Micah claims to love Tracy and their daughters. Before leaving, he reaches out to Donny, his BIL who he also lost his life savings to watch over Tracy and the girls. Donny married Tracy sister Vicki only after a few short months of dating. Vicki was expecting their child. He was hoping to “turn” Vicki around. However, he was not able to do that, and Donny keeps turning to Tracy for help with Julia his daughter. I’m not going to give to much of the plot away. I’m going to leave with Leanne Davis is an amazing author.
What can I say, aside from blooming heck! Who’ve thought that Micah would up and leave? I think Tracy handled the situations with her kids when they arose brilliantly. And the love interest that we saw develop between Tracy and Donny... wow! When they finally give in (fans face, hot hot hot!) amazing! Let’s not forget Vickie in this story tho.. she seeks help for her addiction which is great, but I really feel sorry for Julia with regards to not having her mum in the picture.
In short, another great story well written by this author... time to dive into the next instalment 😊😉
An unlikely love match, two broken marriages, one woman and one man who can only depend on each other; what does that leave you with but a blossoming new love. Leanne Davis where have you been all of my life. Everything thing you write leaves me on an emotional roller coaster. I love this author because she never disappoints and always leaves you coming back again and again for more. Another amazing book and definitely recommended.
Tracy and Micah have it all a great family and life, till one day Micah tells her a whopper. Micah calls his best friend Donny and ask him to watch over his family. Donny is married to Tracys sister Vickie. Their marriage has been on the rocks. These two come together to help each other threw the pain and disappointment with their spouse's. Love the Sister series. I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster the book take you on.
It had a good story line. You could almost see what was happening between the sisters and their lives. I'm not big on the cheating part but I know this is life unfortunately. The author really brought in a lot of emotions in this book you could almost feel exactly what the char actors where feeling and going through. That I thought was great.
This story is about Donny, Vickie, Tracy and Micah. It's very emotional. Donnie discovering Vickie is an alcoholic, Tracy's husband, Micah leaving her, and learning about the crimes he committed. I loved the story, except when Donnie and Tracy slept together before he was divorced. The ending was really good.

Two people facing a total upheaval of their lives thanks to the selfish actions of someone that they are the closest to. This book was definitely a Great Read and has you rooting for the Dony & Tracey more an more as the story unravels. I love how real the emotions are and how you feel like you are right there with them on this emotional journey! I highly recommend this book to anyone!
This book was quite the rollercoaster journey...crazy love triangle that kept me guessing all the way through!!! I love how everything came together for Donny and Tracy... completely different from the first 4 books but just as AMAZING!!! I love all of this author's books/series but this series is awesome and I can't wait to finish them all!!!
This author writes storylines based in truth. I felt compassion for the two protagonists, their lives riddled in angst, heartbreak, but determined to overcome, betrayal, trickery, intrigue, a wives battle with booze, a hubby coping with daughter and consequences of heat marriage, a friendship based on mutual admiration, developing into more. Recommended.
This story was so well written that I actually rooted for two people that were already married to other people to be together, when I typically am totally against anything that could be considered “cheating”. Tracy and Donny just belong together, and the heartbreak and despair they go through just strengthens that opinion.
WOW. After the first chapter I was blown away. The first scene with Donny and his daughter broker my heart. I was hooked on this story right away. This story truly captures the difficult conversations, situations and aftermath of the devastating, heartbreaking and disappointing turn of events for many people. The ending felt a bit rushed but overall great book
I think anyone who would sleep with their sister's husband is fucked in the head. This wasn't romantic at all. It was full on disgusting.
ALso, the ending how Tracey tried to tell her sister's husband she was in love with him by telling him she'd always love her husband more... was certainly a choice.
I don't even know what the author's message was trying to do here, but nobody in this novel was good, kind, or decent. Neither of the leads were good people they were disgusting and selfish pieces of shit who care more about having sex than their own kids.
From the first sentence to th last I was intrigued with this story. Tracy was not a character that I liked in the beginning but by the end I was rooting for her. Great story.
I loved the characters and the dialogue in this book. So glad I discovered this author. The mother was awesome in how she addressed the problems after her spouses embezzlement and how she parented their children. Loved the ending.
