E. C. NEVIN is a pseudonym for an ex–publishing professional. E.C. worked for large trade publishers focusing on crime/thriller publishing and established brands.
Jane Hepburn, lonely and ungainly, is the writer of a not so very successful PI murder series and hopes to drum up interest in her series at the Killer Lines Crime Festival, held in a small village in Cumbria. There she discovers the body of her agent and determines that her cause may be enhanced by investigating the murder. Gradually she changes her outlook on life and starts to make friends. This was a fun and twisty read, filled with interesting characters, much drinking and sharp observations on the publishing world. Looking forward to reading the next volume in this series.
