She walked out after one final argument with her arranged husband— Not knowing it would be the last time she’d walk free.
Charlotte thought marrying Cassian was the price she had to pay to honor her grandfather’s dying wish. What she didn’t expect… Was a husband who mocked her scars, chained her body, and turned her vows into a prison. Until she finally had enough and left.
But before she could start over, her father found her first. He had her quietly committed to a psych ward, where she was drugged, erased, and kept hidden from the world. Cassian never knew she was taken. All he knew was that she disappeared. And for the first time, the cold, calculated heir to the Moretti cartel felt something he’d never allowed himself to feel: fear.
Now, he’s tearing the world apart to find her—driven by guilt, madness, and a love he never deserved. Because the woman he once dismissed is the only one who ever truly owned him.
And when he finds her, he won’t let her slip away. Even if she hates him. Even if she burns him. Even if she never forgives him—
He’s ready to grovel. To bleed. To be hated— As long as he gets to love her again
O.S Feathers writes dark, twisty love stories about morally questionable men and the fierce, brilliant women who bring them to their knees, sometimes literally. She has a soft spot for arranged marriages, possessive antiheroes, and heroines who know how to shoot or at least threaten with style.
She drinks too much coffee, lives for slow-burn tension, and has never met a knife-to-throat scene she didn’t love. When she’s not writing, she’s probably researching obscure Russian swear words, rewriting a spicy chapter for the third time, or convincing her characters that therapy is not, in fact, the enemy.
If you like your love stories messy, dangerous, and just a little unhinged, she’s got you.
“No sacrifice could erase that. Not even him losing his sight in the fire – for me.”
NOT even him losing his SIGHT?
Let’s recap: Charlotte is in a psych ward in the beginning of the book, and she is pumped full of pills and trauma. She is saved by Ethan, a childhood friend who was never mentioned in Book 1 but now suddenly exists. Does this sound convenient, suspicious and AI-generated? Probably.
But then Cassian, the actual husband she’s trying to divorce, swoops in again to bring her back from Ethan's home. Because that’s his entire job description. He is:
Charlotte, meanwhile, continues to be the most deeply unserious heroine in dark romance that I have read so far. Cassian is
1. Blind (can only see shapes). 2. Dying. 3. Still driving. 4. Still blowing up buildings to save her. 5. Still writing love letters in perfect writing for her.
And this girl is STILL MAD. STILL UNGRATEFUL. STILL ON TEAM “I DESERVE BETTER.”
She gets upset because he didn’t consult her before signing off on her mother’s DNR, the same mother who tortured his entire family. Be for real. The same mother who he had no business caring for and helping. But he did.
Also: she literally stabs herself. Because strangers laughed at her and Cassian “did nothing” (while she had been pushing him away for the whole book). Then has the AUDACITY to say:
“Ethan would never let strangers mock me while he watched in silence.”
Girl. Go to jail. Cassian should’ve married his gun. It was more loyal.
And yes, of course this ends with Charlotte asking for 9 months of space because she needs to “heal.” Meanwhile, Cassian doesn’t even have 9 months left to live.
This entire book felt like a fever dream stitched together by an AI trained on mafia romance keywords and zero memory.
I’m mad. I’m tired. And I’m absolutely reading Book 3! I have invested too much into this already.
Dnf with only 40 more pages to go because if this fmc serious? Yes let me just go out to eat with this one guy after Cassian declares his love over and over again to you and just yelled at you for wearing another man’s shirt! Like do you have a brain?!
Holy repetitive. Granted I get why the FMC might not forgive the MMC, but her hate is just so repetitive and her self-righteous act about her abusive mother is honestly ridiculous. As soon as she got that call about her mom being put to sleep and her going back to hating Cassio, when I decided that enough is enough and that this book was just trash.
This is one of the worst books I’ve read, it’s written badly and the plot makes absolutely no sense. Don’t waste your time reading. Charlotte and Cassian are both so unlikable they have absolutely no redeeming qualities, Cassian is abusive, this isn’t a romance and shouldn’t be described as one. I’ve read dark romance but this is awful!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ okay first of all… I want Charlotte and Cassian to either adopt me or let me third-wheel their trauma.
Ethan is the bestie we all need (except when Cassian’s around 👀)
I'd pay money to be a fly on the wall every time Cassian sees Charlotte standing too close to Ethan.
Cassian can propose to me, I’ll say yes, cry, then still tell him I’m not Charlotte 😭
Charlotte deserves the entire world and then some.
If Cassian ever stared at me the way he stares at her… yeah I’m fainting on sight.
He doesn’t need to threaten me. he just needs to say things like this: “He looked at your mouth. He put his name next to yours in public. And he’s breathing your air.” girl. what do you MEAN this man isn’t completely feral. 🍷🍷 ☠️☠️☠️ i actually died. resurrected. and died again. he’s jealous. he’s unhinged. he’s obsessed. and weirdly??? I support it 💅🏽 but let’s get real for a sec: This book?? it’s not just another dark mafia romance. it’s heartbreak. it’s healing. it’s slow-burning pain wrapped in obsession. Charlotte went THROUGH it. She’s been drugged, betrayed, locked in a psych ward like she didn’t matter… And somehow she still finds the strength to fight. even when her hands shake. even when her heart doesn’t remember him. and cassian??? that man GROVELLED like his damn life depended on it. and maybe it did. he didn’t just beg for her love — he earned it. he fought her fears. her silence. her flashbacks. he held her when she broke. he waited. he never stopped waiting. even when she handed him divorce papers and ran off with another man. (which, by the way, let’s talk about THAT SCENE 😭💀👇🏽) Her: “Cassian, he didn’t do anything.” Him: “I don’t care if he prayed over you. I don’t care if he saved your life. He took you out. He watched you eat. He listened to you laugh. That’s enough to die for.”
💀💀💀 send help i’m obsessed. also can we talk about the TENSION???? you’d think after everything, there’d be no spark. WRONG. there were moments so heavy with longing, I swear I felt like a third party intruding on something sacred. and the CLIFFHANGER? somebody hold me. because after everything, she leaves again?? and cassian promised to let her go but we ALL KNOW he’s already five feet behind her, stalking her like a patient psychopath with a death wish. I. NEED. THE. NEXT. BOOK. favorite line that lives rent-free in my head: “I love you,” he said, and it wasn’t gentle this time. It was rough. Unforgiving. A storm swallowing itself. “I love you in a way that devours me. That rots me from the inside. That drives me to kill, and bleed, and kneel and fucking beg.” 🍷✨🕊️🖤 madness. absolute madness. and i ate up every page.
the book was great—until the fmc opened her mouth. then it went to shit.
it’s a constant cycle of “you don’t own me! we’re divorced!” over and over again, like girl, you weren’t just bouncing on his di—be so f*cking for real.
the fmc throws so many red flags. she’s giving major pick-me vibes and honestly doesn’t deserve the mmc at all. the man literally went blind and she had zero sympathy, just, “my mother died, blah blah blah.” like, okay, but your mother was a terrible human being who permanently ruined multiple lives.
she allows others to manipulate her and lets their words affect her so much that she just wallows in her own self-pity. it’s mentioned multiple times throughout the book (maybe too many times—like many other things in this story) that she beat cancer. but if her appearance bothers her that much, then freaking change it or get therapy, jesus christ.
with all the trauma she’s caused and endured, you’d think she’d want to seek help, but instead she keeps spiraling into self-destructive and selfish behavior. in my opinion, that completely ruined the book. the only reason i’m even rating it this way is because of the mmc. i absolutely loved him—he’s not perfect, but every move and intention he had was for her (even though she didn’t deserve it 🥱🙄).
i seriously contemplated whether i should dnf this shit or not. the second book has easily become unbearable—it literally makes me feel like i’m pulling my hair out.

It's not an average mafia story. It's so much more and I am so excited to read the third book!! I've been hooked since the first book. It's worth the read but definitely triggering.
Book 2 begins with Charlotte having been in a psych ward for a year tortured due to her father. She’s rescued by a childhood friend previously never mentioned yet Cassie’s couldn’t find her spending millions of dollars. Unrealistic considering he then is able to hack Ethan’s unhackable network. She’s mad at Cassie’s for granting her insane mother mercy because he didn’t let her make the decision but she was locked up and unavailable. Considering what her mother did to his family he didn’t even have to rescue her mother. She can’t seem to decide what she wants with Cassie’s pushing him away then mad when he isn’t close. Poor Cassie’s is trying very hard to earn forgiveness for what he did to her but she can’t forget or forgive which is understandable too.but she needs to make her mind up once and for all. But then Cassie’s can’t let go either keeping the memory of what he did fresh which she can’t handle after a yr of torture. Cassie’s has to keep saving her which ends up destroying his vision and damaging his lungs but she still says it’s nit even sacrifice. She fir es him to let her go fir 9 months to heal from all the trauma even after he tells her he’s dying and likely won’t be alive in 9 months so that seems pretty stupid cliff hanger AGAIN. Why is there yet another cliffhanger. She knows she loves him he’s proven he loves her she dies need to heal yes but what happened to the trauma specialist he hired to help her? He’s mentioned once dies bloodwork to see what drugs are in her system then suddenly he’s never mentioned again nir any treatment given fir the withdrawal from all the drugs. So major plot holes. How does she think she’ll be safe from her father snd Luca kidnapping her again during her 9 months away healing with none of Cassie’s protection considering his many times he’s had to save her. Snd if Cassie’s is dying who’s going to protect her from them? So this is another major plot holes not addressed properly. Cassie’s divorces her in order to try and win her heart properly yet knowing their marriage is actively protecting her from a forced marriage to Luca so actually puts her at more risk which makes zero sense to the storyline.plus Cassie’s keeps trying to win her forgiveness but withholds vital information from her. Why can’t he just be honest and tell her everything Then they can sit down and hash things out. If he’d talked to her after Elodie told her what her mom did they could have worked out what he did to her but instead he turns on her again and makes it worse. Yet he’s been in therapy for 14 months? Obviously in all that time he should have learned something and healed some. Then it mentions he was injecting venom into himself because he wanted to die but makes no further mention of the effects of this. Mentions about him being sick after signing the divorce papers but no context as why. Lots of plot holes detail mistakes and unfinished events make it frustrating. So book needs a lot of work to fix yet basically was still ok to read to continue the series. Author needs to stay away from AI though and write properly then proofread and edit appropriately.

usually when its a second chance rom you dont expect the guy to shoot himself in the ass TWICE. (Metaphorically speaking ofc) lol like ohmygod he was doing SORTA well trying to make up for the crap he did in book 1 but then he has to let his ego take the drivers seat again...spouting sh*t about respect when she wants to try to make him jealous and flirt with another guy in front of him so after he just lets ppl bully and humiliate her and doesnt lift a finger to stop it. 🙄 NOT like SHE had many redeeming qualities either i mean i get shes been brutalized and traumatized but holy crap she just wanted to head straight into danger if it meant it would piss cassian off. not so smart this one 😅. ONLY REASON I KEPT READING is cause i did wanna know if they reconciled which (spoiler) they dont, at least not in this book. she asks for space which he reluctantly gives her...til the end. ANYWHO the other reason its a 3 and not like 1 or 2 is cause it did make me cry at times, the dude can give some good grovel worthy speeches (dont know if theyre forgiveness worthy cause he keeps doing stupid sh*t after but they do melt you a bit, or at least i did.) also author needs to work on plot and settings a bit...noticed it in the 1st one too but the settings and plot lines kinda have irregularities in them, sometimes a character will be sitting next there standing all of a sudden, its not much but kinda takes u out of the story.
I really wanted to like this series. The whole switched grooms at the alter is what drew me in and continued with the second book opening with Charlotte in a psych ward. However, how many times can a girl get abducted because she is just plain dumb. I truly believe that knowing you are in danger, you might say no to going to a party, say no to a dinner date. But selfish, dumb Charlotte has to be saved again and again. To top it off, Charlotte gives no grace to Cassian as he saves her multiple times.
Not sure if I want to read the 3rd book (I feel this could have wrapped up in 2 books). The blurb for the 3rd book does not match the ending of this book. Cassian has 3 months to live at the end of this book but the blurb says he finds Charlotte after 3 years of looking. Also there is a magical sister who Cassian is now engaged to. Guess she dropped out of the air. Maybe Luca could have married her instead of wreaking havoc on Charlotte.

This is book 2 in a 3 book series. Books 1 & 2 leave on a cliff hanger so you need to read all the books in order. The first book intrigued me, the second pissed me off and I just don’t know if I can take a third. There are so many back stories and angles that are going on in this book. Just when you think you have a handle on the book the author throws in another surprise. I absolutely love Cassian, he is the villain and he does not disappoint but at this point he has broken Charlotte and she has broken him as well. I have never hated a main female character as much as I am hating Charlotte right now. She continues to get herself in trouble and push Cassian away but expects him to be there to rescue her. I think I the third book may be a stretch. I will eventually read it but I’m not sure my anxiety and heart can take it right now.
Sorry but this book actually fricking rage baited me, I’ve never been more angry with a character in my life. Main character pissed me off with how stubborn she was, icl why u pissing about and putting yourself in dangerous situations, yes the husband was partially to blame for some of the stuff and icl I didn’t fuck with it, but at the same they both needed a fckin therapist bruv.
Cannot fucking stand how stubborn she was, just no way in hell did she have to make life so difficult. The whole date situation pissed me the hell off. I cannot put into words the rage I felt reading this book. Also, the whole situation about him dying and her just simply ignoring it and wanting to go away for 9 months knowing she could come back and he’d be dead like BRUV?!? what the fuck are you on.
Seriously contemplating whether reading the last book is even worth it. Lowest rating I’ve ever posted

This is so SHIT?? Wtf is this girl doing? His only fault is he put her in that basement once that’s it. She stabbed him, ran from him (and blamed him later), keeps going for other men, divorced her. He goes blind for her, lost his fucking mind over her and she still doesn’t know what she wants. Wants Cassian to protect her, feels jealous bcz Ethan’s best friend might like him, goes on a date with another guy? Author, what expired shit were you on when writing this shit?? This is the shittiest book I’ve ever read. And mind you I read literal cheating books. It doesn’t get more WACK than this book
I don’t even know where to begin. Okay first of all Charlotte’s conflicted self, is beyond annoying. Each flip of a page is her wondering whether she should let me Cassian have her or hate him. One minute the world is ending and she loves him, the next everything is steady and she hates him? On every chapter??? Seriously? And then when she does hate him, she pushes him away and then when something bad is happening she expects him to save her and when he doesn’t she’s all sad and disappointed? On every damn chapter? No wonder this book doesn’t have good ratings, there’s no build up. They don’t grow together as a couple or hero and heroine, they just have back and forth the whole time.

There's wayyyy too much going on. She was in love with him the night before, praying he wouldn't die in a fire, but upset the following morning wishing the fire "swallowed him whole"? I don't think it's possible to state how many things I dislike about Charlotte. This girl's mom tortured Cassian's mom, him included, and made him watch her get raped and she's still whining about her mother to him? Girl, be so for real. I couldn't even get through the whole thing. This hot and cold thing really isn't doing it for me.
Good lord this is a hot mess.. but I have to see it through. The man has got it bad (yes he was absolutely horrid to her in book 1) but all the poor guy did in this book is grovel. Literally on his knees. The man was sobbing on the floor to a statue of her. And charlotte was terrible to cassian here. She also lost her mind. He really seemed like he was trying tho, and she didn’t care one bit. The man was not okay, he was completely broken by the end. Her leaving him tho, after he BEGGED and pleaded for her to stay 💔 and finding out he only has 3 months to live but he let her go anyway 🥹
this book was so poorly written. at the beginning, it was good but halfway through omgg the fmc pissed me so bad i really wanted to stop reading the book but somehow i continued reading it hoping it'd get better. but it didn't. the book got so repetitive even i'm surprised how i continued reading it. the worst part is this book left me on cliffhanger once again and i can't stay without reading it's other part.
I gave up because lord I lost more braincells as I kept on reading. It wasn't making no sense, and even for Mafia romance, it wasn't making any sense. Furthermore, the writing from the first book reads differently to this book. Now, based on three books I've read by this author and all of them not having the same writing style. I'm gonna say it's looking 🐟
However don't take my word for it, maybe it just wasn't for me.
This book was a big waste of time. I nearly dnf like 3 times but kept reading hoping it would get better. Spoiler alert: it didn't! The FMC was the biggest pick me and yes I know she went through lots of trauma and her husband did things he shouldn't of but she kept making herself seem like she was the only person who had to deal with trauma. She kept switching up on her husband being like "I hate you" and then "I need you". This book overall was just so repetitive.
I legit could’ve given it a 5 stars if it weren’t for the bitch Charlotte. I was fucking sobbing and nearly on the verge of screaming when Cassian said he was dying. That he needed oxygen mask and then I was crying again when he has discovered to have cancer. LIKE OS FEATHERS U BETTER COUNT UR DAMN DAYS IF U DONT MAKE MY HUSBAND LIVE MAN
I love a second chance romance book but sadly this one was not doing it for me. Charlotte and Cassian’s relationship is purely toxic.
One second he’s groveling his ass off then the next he’s giving her the cold shoulder. Cassian is such a man child and made me mad 98% of the time in the book that I just wanted to throw my kindle across my room..
this plot has sm potential but it starting to pmo. it’s just going in circles. how is mmc blind yet he’s driving the car?? the fmc knows she’s a target but “oh let me go on a date with this guy without telling anyone”, “my brother betrayed me yet i’m gonna call him”. just kill everyone at this point.
The FMC is as irritating as a bad smell and her whining gets so much. The MMC is to much to obsessed. The whole book was painful to read. And the FMC obsession with her mother. Sorry but this book is just disappointing

The banter and the stupidity was extremely overwhelming, i skimmed most of the book because it was so repetitive to the point 5at i thought i was re reading a chapter… honestly I didn’t enjoy it one bit.
If there ever was another FMC like Charlotte with respect kindly let her die. The way I got whiplash from her … my head hurts from the repetitive lies that she continues to fall into I’ve never hated a mafia book as much as this
I never leave any comments on books but these 2 books actually made my blood boil and Charlotte too I mean I get that you don't trust him but use your brain for once and why in the first book does she always go to Luca? So yeah I'm not finishing it thank you very much
First book was great. This one was okay but omg charlotte frustrated me so bad. Cassian did so much for her and I get her hurt her as well but by the end she was just whining about it. It made me not like her at all.
