Title: A Ghostly Gig Author: Michelle Ann Hollstein Format: Audio Narrator: Natsumi Bailey Genre: Short Story, Paranormal (ghosts), suspense Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Book 4 of A Lost Souls POV: Vienna Steam Level: None 4/5
I listened to this series out of order. A Ghostly Gig is, I think, the last book in this series. In it Vienna and her best go to a haunted house on Halloween to take care of the ghost-situation. The banter between friends was cute and the mystery around why the ghosts remain was solved (kind of). It's not a whodunit, per se, but a what happened/why is the ghost still here. Although short, it was action-packed, suspenseful, creepy and funny. I look forward to reading the rest of this series - in order.
My biggest complaint with this book wasn't the story but the audio quality. The narrator was okay to good but it was real echo-y with the acoustics making it sound like it was read in the bathroom.
I received this audiobook for free per my request. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Ghostly Gig: A Vienna Rossi Paranormal Short Story (A Lost Souls, Book 4) by Michelle Ann Hollstein and narrated by Natsumi Bailey is an entertaining short story. Not sure what I can say that the summary doesn’t without giving spoilers, so if you like a good ghost story or short stories, give this one a listen.
The narrator, Natsumi Bailey, did a good job. My only complaint is the echo you hear, not sure if it’s the recording area used or if this was done on purpose. Otherwise, she is easy to listen to and I would listen to another one of her narrations.
Parental guidance/trigger warnings: language used- hell x1. *I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you for allowing me to listen and review the book!
At only 14 pages, A Ghostly Gig by Michelle Ann Hollstein is a quick, fun read, and the perfect way to introduce Vienna to those of us who have never met her before. She has a partner in crime who follows all of the standard ghost hunting protocols, but Vienna has something all of those gadgets lack. She has a true connection with lost souls, and she also has a heart of gold. Here, she encounters what anyone in their mind would consider a malevolent spirit, but things aren't always what they seem. I look forward to reading more from Michelle Ann Hollstein and getting to know Vienna much better.
Since I am new to the series, this fun little tidbit of a story was enough to get me excited to meet these characters in a full novel. You can already tell this series is going to be a good one! Super fast listen that let's you get your toes wet if you're new to the author or series.
The narrator did a great job making this super short story fun and quirky.

This was a fun paranormal mystery short story. It summed up the mystery of the haunted house Vienna and her best friend Kim are investigating. It had me guessing and there was even a moment of fright. I definitely want to read more from this pair. The narrator did a great job with a the two voices of Vienna and Kim. I really felt like it was two different people talking. If you want a fun quick mystery, give this one a listen/read.
This story is also an audiobook. The narrator did a great job with the story. She brought the story to life for me. I did like the sound effects that the narrator did. This was a short and entertaining. The two girls were enjoyable while they were hunting the ghosts. I think paranormal lovers will enjoy this short hunted ghost story. I enjoyed this story.
I was given a complimentary copy from the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.
A cute, little story. Vienna's best friend, Kim, has landed them their first job to rid a house of its ghost. While Kim initially seems excited about the prospect, Vienna really wasn't. The house is full of many of the typical haunted, lived in house things: creaky doors, things that go bump in the night, chilly breezes without a source, and mysterious voices. The author pulls off the story quite well.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
Will she be able to actually do her first paying case?
A short coffee break read. Her first paying gig and she is all nerves. Will she be able to find out why the house is haunted? If she does, will she be able to give the ghost peace? A really good little story and her BFF is live in vivid colour.
Ghostly Gig: A Vienna Rossi Paranormal Short Story: A Lost Sould, Book Four was a great read by Michelle Ann Hollstein. Vienna accepted a side job that she now finds intimidating. She has been hired to alleviate a house of a haunting. She must use her newfound psychic abilities to communicate with a ghost. This was another great read by Michelle Ann Hollstein.
•audiobook• I didn’t care for the characters or their over reactions. I didn’t expect much for a short story, but I did expect soke showing - but it was all telling... Not sure why it’s a 2 instead of 1, unless I’m being very generous.
Ghostly Gig by Michelle Ann Hollstein is a great short story. I enjoy the character of Vienna Rossi. My only complaint about this book is it flys by. Natsumi Bailey performed the book perfectly
Storyline was great and catching, and I really enjoyed it.Thanks for sharing it with me and keep them coming. What you do to a story is great. Thanks again.
I fun short story that serves as a good introduction to the paranormal world of Vienna Rossi. Vienna is a reluctant psychic who is talked into getting rid of a ghost from the home of a friend. When she and her friend, Kim, get to the house, the spookiness begins! My only complaint would be that the story was nearly too short! I was just starting to really enjoy it when it was over!
The narrator did a great job and the story was a fun, quick listen. Just right to get the reader into a Halloween mood! I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.

This was a great short story. Perfect for when waiting in line or for someone. It jumps right into the action but the first short conversation explains it all so you don't go into it wondering what is happening.
Very entertaining to be so small a story but clear. Well, written and well narrated by Natsumi Bailey.

The idea behind the story was interesting. Maybe it’s because it was so short that I felt like there was almost too much information, like it would have better had it been longer.
With more practice, I can see the narrator getting much better. As she stands right now, it sounded like her voice was echoing or something; I imagine it’s because of the room she recorded in. Otherwise, she did a good job.
