A decision made by one can change the fate of all.

The aftermath of the Royal Forum has torn the continent of Fyriane apart. To avoid a coup in the Kingdom of Arlom, a line must be drawn, and a delicate balance struck.

With that balance comes a reluctant truce with the Queendom of Nyarelle and Kingdom of Marlyst. For without them, I may never survive the coming months, never discover the truths of Fyriane, and where my duties lie.

But the time for seeking answers, I found, has long past. The war I sought to avoid, has already begun.

While the monarchs struggle to navigate the growing conflict, a deeper threat lurks amongst us. Hiding in the shadows. Just beyond our shores. Waiting to strike.

It all starts with one. One choice. One royal.

One decoy.

Hannah has been obsessed with fantasy and romance books for as long as she can remember. In her early twenties, Hannah was camping on the sunshine coast in beautiful British Columbia when she turned to her friend and said, ‘I would love to write a book, I feel there is so much going on in my head and there are stories that need to be told.’ Fast forward a handful of years, Hannah resides in her hometown of Perth, WA, with her partner, and fur babies Walter, Loki and Ridley. She finally watered the seed she planted all those years ago, and her imagination bloomed.

Wow, the anticipation of this second book did not disappoint. The way POS left me hanging at the end, I couldn’t wait for this to come. It started with a bang and kept me hooked the whole way through. Learning more about the characters and their back stories. I can’t believe how many times I said ‘no way’ and then picking up POS to go, oooh sneaky to know we had some Easter eggs already. Great read, can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Decoys of Arlom is a multi POV espionage-laced political fantasy. The pacing is strong right out the gate and never loses momentum.

Dwy was an absolute standout for me. Watching her take matters into her own hands was deeply satisfying, the antagonists(of which we also get a POV) are excellent foils for her. H.J. Bogue truly excels at writing vixens and villains alike.

Valare faces so many battles physically and mentally(seriously is my girl ever going to get a break?) and her growing arsenal of powers is getting more iconic by the book. I also really love her dynamic with Xy. Their romance is so organic after what feels like the slowest of burns between these two powerhouses.

When the twists hit, oh do they hit. I genuinely didn’t see many of them coming, especially the biggest of reveals at the end. The payoff was excellent and left me more than ready for what comes next.

All I can say is wow. The sequel to Pawns of Salistya is incredible. The twists, turns and surprises had me captive from the first page. Loved the character development, epic fight scenes and the politics amongst the characters and kingdoms. Can't wait for the rest of the series to be published !!
