(Audible) Very intense realistic dystopian. Interesting characters. There is no steam or bad language... lots of death and some violence, but also sweet moments. Left on a cliffhanger!
Will and Chloe are survivors of the A virus along the way they found Daniel a baby and once they found a place to settle came across Chip the dog so now they are a family of sorts. But if they've survived the A virus surely others have survived as well right ?, They can't be the only survivors left in the whole world can they ?. Eventful and interesting but a bit slow. I'm constantly frustrated at how they don't seem to think ahead or have any common sense .. just like a nerdy 16 yo I guess. I mean they never thought to use a bicycle or a motorbike? Having read hundreds of this genre one gets a bit jaded .. Having said that I am definitely going to read the next set .. I'm in!
Apart from the opening scenes of the virus affecting the country and one scene involving two brothers, the entire book is one boring monologue of a deeply unlikeable main character who has the common sense of a snail and the personality of a toddler in a 16yr olds body, if you want a story of survival mixed with some regular excitement then look elsewhere because this is p*ss poor at best
I really enjoyed the first 4 books and have bought the next 3. I felt a lot of sympathy for the characters, I enjoyed that the books weren't completely depressing or doom and gloom. It's not an ideal reality but the characters are doing what needs to be done at a very young age. I'm excited to continue on with this series!
I really enjoyed this series, it was different enough it piqued my interest and the characters were well written along with the setting it kept my interest… does leave a whole bunch of questions starting with why was the illness created?
Interesting book. Good characters with a great storyline, sad, exciting and heart warming. Different than a lot of apocalyptic books, centers on surviving not survival. A 5 star read.
Other than this is not written in American English…pretty good. I absolutely love dystopian stories. Extra bonus no sexual content and the profanity is limited. Almost wholesome.
