Run to Him

Rate this book
It is Christmas morning in 1964. For nurse Fionnuala Kennedy, it is work as usual. As she trudges through the cold streets to catch her bus, Fionnuala thinks of the secret which she has been keeping from her beloved mother and father - and of how on earth she is going to break it to them.

She promises herself that she will do it that very evening, when she gets back home. None of the hospital staff are expecting very much to disturb their routine - it is Christmas Day, after all. And indeed, Fionnuala's morning at the hospital begins quietly enough, but then all hell breaks loose, and she is faced with an emergency to rock her world to its foundations.

A nice book set in the world of the Four Streets. It was a fast read and not as detailed as the previous books but as a novelette it was good. Could be read as a stand alone.

Nice little story set in the four streets, with a familiar car swiping character. Set at Christmas with a sad tale.

I liked this but seem to end a little abruptly plus the kindle version you get extracts from the other 2 books which I had already read.

With some familiar characters from The Four Streets hovering around the peripherals of this story, it was a welcome read whilst waiting for the next instalment. Just a bit too short though!

I really enjoyed this book, although even knowing it was a short story, it did surprise me when it ended. Worth the read though.
