AI is increasing the speed of change in our society.
They work without stopping, at greater speeds than our possible with people. Machine learning is superior and faster than anything before. Computers communicate with other computers without human control as humans may not understand the algorithms involved. Machines are better, faster, cheaper than human employees. People will have to learn to live in a society run by computers with little human control. Everyone needs to prepare and this book is a good book to begin.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway and I was excited to read it. This is the first book going deep into AI that I’ve read so maybe I should have started elsewhere. I found the author’s vision of future governance to be idealistic. He does bring up interesting points I had not previously considered.
I took off stars mainly for three reasons. The book has spelling and grammatical errors throughout. The kindle version did not allow me to look at the footnotes until the end (normally the reader can select the number and they pop up at the bottom). Finally, there were multiple sections I would have liked to have more sources listed. I had a hard time believing everything the author wrote regarding current technology.

This book has some interesting concepts. From what I understand it’s kind of a guide of what needs to be done, or what will be done, when robots become citizens. In addition, it has arguments as to why AI will eventually become sentient beings, a lot of it due to human limitations.
