Twenty year old Harlow has spent the last two years avoiding the advances of club members, much to the annoyance of ‘Hawke’ the President of the Skulls. Harlow thinks leaving the Skulls will be easy after the death of her father but she couldn't be much further from the truth.

Wanting to start a new life for herself she finds her dream job as a tattooist, the only problem is the business is owned by the Aces, a rival club.

Ethan ‘Diesel’ Stokes is the VP of the Aces. He has had a turbulent life and is trying to put back the pieces since the death of his son, Shaun. Diesel doesn't have time for relationships but when he meets Harlow, the beautiful, tattooed, challenging new employee, he can’t help himself!

Harlow has only ever trusted one man but now her father is dead, can she learn to trust another and open her heart, knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken?

Can Diesel keep his promise to protect her and avenge her father’s death?

Note to readers:

This is not your normal MC series. The Aces are an MC with alpha males but the members do not shy away from the fact that they are husbands, fathers and lovers with feelings. If you don’t like a biker who cares and respects his woman, then this isn't a book for you.

I want to take the time to mention that I’m from the United Kingdom and use UK spellings.

To receive the full experience of the Aces MC Series it is recommended to read the stories in the following order:

Diesel – Book 1
Duke - Book 2
Paige and Chloe - Book 2.5
Spike - Book 3
Amy - Book 3.5
Locke - Book 4
Jayden - Book 4.5

I've always had an overly imaginative and creative mind and although I've managed to maintain my sanity regardless of my career choice (teaching), I've decided to channel that creativity in other ways. Never had I thought of writing a book, until 2014 and I'm pleased that I did.

I hope to entertain those who enjoy gritty romance stories with domineering men and strong women.

I like to think I have a certain edge over other MC authors because of my family ties to an MC in the UK, which help to keep my books realistic (to a certain degree!) and not shy away from the fact that these club members although alpha male, are still husbands, fathers and lovers with feelings.

Thank you to all that read my books and support me in pursuing my dream.

I hope my readers enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

I am an avid reader of MC books and have been working my way through all the available books on Amazon. I stumbled across 'Diesel' which is a debut book by an author who shows real potential.

This book covers the usual MC theme but the relationship between the 'Brothers' (Diesel, Duke and Spike) pulled me in and to be honest, I purchased this earlier today and haven't put it down until I finished it.

Harlow is challenging and isn't afraid to speak her mind, which is refreshing but I also appreciated her innocence which added another level to her relationship with Diesel (which was HOT!). I also liked how it was written including the different POV's as this made it easier to follow because of the introduction of so many new characters.

This book has left me craving more (which all good books should do) and I am looking forward to read the second book (Duke) and hopefully see how other characters develop. I do hope that there will be a book on 'Spike' as I have developed a soft spot for him!
Overall this is a fantastic start to a series that has the potential to be truly amazing.

This book, to my surprise, was a good book! I don't know why but I was expecting to not like it. It was a quick kind of read. Everything in the book flowed quickly, there was no fights that lasted for days or break ups that lasted for weeks, everyone said what was on their mind as they thought it. I liked that. Their relationship happened fast, this part was a little unbelievable to me, but was still good just the same. Some of the writing bothered me, I could tell right away that the author was not American or Canadian. So, some of the wording took some getting used too.
Overall, I liked the story line. It was typical, alpha male, virgin girl. But, I liked how fast everything happened and that there was no cliffhangers threw out the book. I will be looking for Duke's book in April!

Let's start with how many MC books have you read where a new girl comes in and two days later a bunch of bikers have tears in their eye and are throwing kisses on foreheads? Tears leaking out of their eyes?
None, bunch of pussies!

Diesel the VP of Aces MC caught Harlow's eye, surprise surprise to find Harlow, a biker princess belonging to another club is 20 and a VIRGIN!
Not even a week after they met has she spreading her legs? Well hello? He didn't even buy you dinner!

Week two, the "I love you" is being thrown around, Week 2.5 Let's spend all our life together!
Come the eff on, that is a bunch of unbelievable BS.
I'm sorry I know I am sounding like a total bitch right now, but I'm just tired of spending money on books that leer you in with a half naked guy, a good blurb and then major fail!

Good start to this series. I find biker romances a bit hit and miss for me. However this book was great as it was low on the drama between the couple and the action/drama is more club related.

I thought the characters were interesting and I am especially looking forward to Spike's story. I would have liked a few more scenes with Disel and Harlow together as a couple but since this was only a short read I thought the author did a good job of getting as much depth as she could. Also I would have loved Disel to be a bit more alpha but I did love the fact the as soon as he met Harlow her knew she was the one for him and he never doubted his feelings.

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

What a good little find! I loved the pace of the story. I love MC books and it was refreshing to have a story that flowed and didn't have pages of BS just for the sake of having words on a page! Hot alpha male (Diesel) and a young but strong female lead (Harlow). Good sex scenes (believable) and no cliff hanger(yeah...) Supporting characters are interesting... Loving spike! And can't wait for the next book in April :-)

Good

Good story. Good characters. A little bit short and I understand the next story is right after the end of this but I felt that this ended abruptly.

huh - not sure what to make of this.

This was a fairly lite, short MC read with the exception of the spoilers written below. I liked Diesel and Harlow aka Ink. But I found it hard to get to know them. I am still not sure what they looked like - except he was tall and she had long hair. Harlow was young and immature. She was not TSTL - thank goodness! Diesel was instantly in lust/love with her. Really no clue why, but whatevs. He still mourns the death of his son in a car accident 4 years prior, but other than this being a discussion point up front, it is quickly swept aside for all of Ink's drama. I just did not feel the relationship. There was so much else going on, they really spent little time together - at least that I experienced. And when they were together, most of the writing was in their heads - not conversations.

So my biggest problem with this book (except for one of the spoiler exceptions) is that it had too many POVs and most of it was written in people's heads. Not much dialogue and interaction between characters. I think the writing and dialogue needed maturity and hope that the future books get better. Otherwise it is just ok.

As a regular reader of MC books, I was excited about the write up and was not let down.

This was a great read with many twists and turns. I loved the relationship that developed between Diesel and Harlow. He came across tough (as VP's should be) but also showed his softer side.

It was nice to read an MC book based in the UK for a change as many that I have read in the past have been based in the USA or Australia. The scene has now been set for future books including characters like Duke, Spike and Amy.

Can't wait for Duke's story in April 2015.

Very pleased with the purchase. Fantastic main and supporting characters. Diesel is just a hot alpha male and Harlow compliments him well. Aimee-Louise has wetted my appetite with the first chapter of Dukes story at the end of the book. Look forward to reading more by this author.

Yea, another series to follow. While the characters and story didn't go as in-depth as I would have liked(due to length), it was still engaging and overall a nice read. The relationship between Ink and Diesel develops at a extremely fast pace, but along with that there is never a moment when something isn't developing in the story line. Looking forward to the next book. 3.5 stars!

A softer MC 3.5 stars

Harlow is twenty years old and looking for a fresh start, her mother died when she was just four years old and she was raised by her father and his MC The Skulls MC but now her father is dead and she no longer feels comfortable there, in fact the President of the Skulls 'Hawke' made her feel so scared she had to leave.
Harlow's dream has always been to be a tattooist so armed with her portfolio she heads for Aces Tattoo shop.
Now I have to say I struggled at first with this, even allowing for Harlow being nervous and with everything she'd been through recently she still seemed a bit off, almost bipolar. I don't want to make this a spoiler review but you'll know what I mean if you read it.
Harlow meets Diesel and the attraction is instant but they both come with loads of baggage, some of it dangerous. Is it possible for these two to beat the odds?
I have to say after the bumpy start I enjoyed this read, a British MC book as well its not often I come cross one of those, although I'm being honest it didn't seem that British.
I liked all the Aces MC characters and I'll be reading Dukes book next, its already on my kindle waiting.
This is a softer MC read, I noticed one review compared it to Mills & Boon and I suppose it is a kind of Mills & Boon does MC and while I generally prefer a nice dark and gritty MC this made a change and overall I enjoyed it.

Commas and apostrophes.
The author needed to learn to use them.

I'm pretty sure "Dukes face" is "Duke's face" regardless from which side of the Atlantic you hail...and seriously, Duke's poor face, she did it every freaking time.

And then there's the unnecessary apostrophes all over the place “Spike and Duke were my rock’s when I lost him.”
rock's - wha....?

I also firmly believe "See you Saturday ink" would make tons more sense as "See you Saturday, Ink."

Then again maybe it's just more of that crazy Brit slang the author warned us to leave her alone over...I think the language barrier was the least of this novel's concerns.

OW drama, but no interest from H.

I've read the rest of the reviews on here to find a mixed bag which is interesting. Books are like art, they are subjective!
What I have learned from both of Aimee's books (I've had the pleasure of reading Dukes ARC) are that they are different! Different how you may ask?
The Aces MC guy's swear, fight, shag...which is great as we all love men that do that, right? But I can see what she is trying to do by introducing the softer side of these guys to us, by stating many times that these guys are fathers, lovers, husbands...
Does this work? I think so. These guys can't be arse holes all the time otherwise women wouldn't fall in love with them. Is there room for romance in an MC book? I think so. It doesn't have to be just shagging.
Do Members of an MC have feelings? Yes they do. And the reason I know this, is that my husband is an associate of an MC. We BBQ together, have fun days out with the kids...
She will kill me for sharing too much but unlike other authors, Aimee has links to an MC in England.
I'm not gonna state who or where as I'll get in trouble but that's why I can connect to her stories, they're more believable than some of the other MC books I read.
If you are looking for hot alpha males who eat, sleep, fuck, drink, swear...then this book isn't for you. But if you want a more realistic MC book with real men that still fuck but have feelings and enjoy a happy ending, then down load and start reading.
Love you Aimee, keep up the good work. Can't wait for my Spike fix!

Spoiler Ahead This was a short quick read the instant love type. Twenty year old Harlow has spent the last two years avoiding the advances of club members, much to the annoyance of ‘Hawke’ the President of the Skulls. Harlow thinks leaving the Skulls will be easy after the death of her father but she couldn't be much further from the truth. Ethan ‘Diesel’ Stokes is the VP of the Aces. He has had a turbulent life and is trying to put back the pieces since the death of his son, Shaun. Diesel doesn't have time for relationships but when he meets Harlow, the beautiful, tattooed, challenging new employee, he can’t help himself. This was my first time reading a biker book that takes place in the UK. I really liked Harlow or Ink as she is called she left her old club because someone killed her dad and she takes a job at a local parlor not knowing it is owned by the Aces. When they both start revealing secret's it made me wonder if they will make it or will all the twist and turns drive them away from each other. This book had some grammar issues and I know it was because of the setting and the author did warn you of this. Overall this was a good start to a new series and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this new series to me. This was also my first time reading this author.

3 it has the potential stars

When reading a MC Book or any romance book really there are two things I never want to read:

1. "His cock was huge and I was wondering how it was going to fit!"
2. "I smiled at the beautiful alpha male beside me."

No I am not exaggerating those lines were literally written in that exact way. Not once but a few times did Harlow, our female lead refer to Diesel as a "sexy alpha male" lol! Do I want my male leads to be sexy alpha males? Of course! But do I want to have it said like a bad TV commercial? Not so much.
Not to drag the negative sides of this novel through the mud too much though because it does need a lot of work grammatically and structurally speaking, I really did enjoy the story line and the main characters. Harlow was very lovable. This author is British so at times it is hard to keep up with some of what the lingo means but I still enjoyed it. It was a corny read but in a good way and hopefully the next book in the series has a great editor.
